The legacy media has faced intense scrutiny in recent weeks over its past coverage of President Biden, with critics accusing journalists of covering up his mental decline, which was on full display at last month’s presidential debate. Perhaps the only members of the media, besides the White House press corps, who have had exposure to the generally media-reclusive president are those who have been able to interview him. Biden has shattered norms by granting fewer interviews than any other American president in modern history. Those reporters able to sit down with him were given a rare window to observe whether Biden’s mental health is as bad as his conservative critics say it is or as good as his liberal defenders claim. Fox News Digital reached out to 20 Biden interviewers during his presidency. Only two were willing to speak, on the condition of anonymity. ABC’S GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS AFTER BIDEN INTERVIEW: ‘I DON’T THINK HE CAN SERVE FOUR MORE YEARS’The first interviewer, who has had several interactions with Biden over the years, saw that he was « stiffer physically » when interviewing him this year.  « I noticed this especially in the context of his age and the reports of his being frail. He was, » the interviewer told Fox News Digital. « His eyes were watery, once seemed maybe irritated, a bit glassy. » »I was left with the impression that he is old, and it’s impossible not to notice this and be focused on it. His voice is so soft, » the interviewer added. The interviewer did acknowledge that Biden was « fine with small talk » and that « nothing stood out as unusual » as far as witnessing any mental lapses. « I don’t know if it’s what people want as president, » the interviewer said. « But what I’ve seen isn’t as good as his defenders say and not as bad as his haters say. »CRITICS PILE ON BIDEN FOLLOWING ABC INTERVIEW, BLAST HIS REFUSAL TO COMMIT TO COGNITIVE TEST: ‘DISQUALIFYING’The second interviewer, who has similarly crossed paths with Biden in the past, noticed in their exchange last year that the president « walked a little stiffly across the room » but was « engaged, responsive and able to address my questions. » »I will say he was careful not to go on at length with answers, » the second interviewer told Fox News Digital. « It was clear he was trying to edit himself, possibly because he’d been coached to keep answers short. »Both interviewers expressed frustration about their years-long efforts to get their sit-downs with Biden on the books and pointed out how his team was « upset » that their conversations went longer than the allotted time they were granted. »They were clearly guarding him carefully, » the second interviewer told Fox News Digital. Biden’s inner circle appear to be especially on guard in his post-debate interviews. Two local radio hosts admitted in the past week that they were given questions to ask by the president’s team. One of them has already been ousted from her radio station. Not every interviewer has been completely silent about their experiences with the president.Former ESPN host Sage Steele spoke candidly about her March 2021 interview with Biden and how he « trailed off » in their conversation. « It was satellite, it wasn’t in person. We’re having a technical issue. And so I had to, like, BS. I had to chitchat waiting for us to start rolling, » Steele told Bill Maher on his « Club Random » podcast last fall. « Well, what he started to do, of course he has someone next to him, and they keep a black, like, curtain over the lens of the camera, so you can’t see him until the last second, but you can hear, and we’re chitchatting… So I can hear him, and he goes, ‘What is this for?’… And he’s, like, ‘Who am I talking to? Wait—what’s her name?' » »This is like a ‘Naked Gun’ movie, » Maher quipped. BIDEN REPEATEDLY DODGES QUESTIONS ABOUT WHETHER HE’D TAKE NEUROLOGICAL TEST: ‘NO ONE SAID I HAD TO' »I was going, ‘Oh, my God!' » Steele exclaimed. « And then he said, ‘SportsCenter. ESPN.’ And he goes, ‘Oh, ok.’ And so I said, you know, what do you say? ‘Hi, Mr. President. Nice to meet you.’ And so I’m trying just to fill time. And he said, ‘You know, I used to play football’… And so he started to tell football stories of his greatness. And again, I can’t see him. You can see the curtain… He goes, ‘And I have the best hands.’ What do you say to that? »She later continued, « And then I said, ‘Oh, so you were a receiver.’ And he started to explain it. And here’s the saddest thing — his voice just trailed off. He said, ‘I was good,’ and then he went silent, and he goes, ‘Uhh… never mind.’ »In an interview with Fox News Digital earlier this year, Steele revealed that her questions had been « scripted » by ESPN. »That was an interesting experience in its own right because it was so structured, » Steele said. « And I was told, ‘You will say every word that we write out, you will not deviate from the script and go.’ » Many of the questions Steele asked Biden in the March 2021 interview pertained to sports leagues attempting to restore normalcy during the COVID pandemic and vaccine hesitancy among athletes and fans. Her interview made headlines at the time when Biden supported the MLB’s All-Star game boycott of Atlanta following the passage of Georgia’s election reform law.But everything Steele said to the president ultimately came from ESPN’s c-suite, according to the former ESPN host. NY TIMES TOP WHITE HOUSE SCRIBE USES ‘TRANSLATION HEADSETS’ TO UNDERSTAND BIDEN WHEN HE ‘STARTS TO MUMBLE’ »To the word. Every single question was scripted, gone over dozens of times by many editors and executives. Absolutely. I was on script and was told not to deviate, » Steele told Fox News Digital. « It was very much ‘This is what you will ask. This is how you will say it. No follow-ups, no follow-ups. Next.’ … This went up to the fourth floor, as we said, where all the bosses, the top executives, the decision makers are, the president of our company, the CEO, where they all worked. »Steele said she didn’t know for certain whether ESPN sent the questions to the White House in advance of the interview but seemed confident that is « what happened. » ESPN declined to comment. CBS News correspondent Scott Pelley, one of very few journalists who landed multiple interviews with Biden, offered a disclaimer to « 60 Minutes » viewers ahead of the president’s first sit-down following the Oct. 7 terrorist attack against Israel. »Late Thursday we met President Biden at the White House. It had been a rough week, and we could see it on him, » Pelley said. »Mr. Biden will be 81 next month, and he has said when he is tired, his lifelong stutter can creep back in, » Pelley added, bracing viewers for what to expect from the president in the interview. Time magazine’s Massimo Calabresi, who interviewed Biden just weeks before the CNN debate, said the president « appears very much as he appears on TV » when he spoke with him. »He is older than when he started in office. It‘s visible if you just look side-by-side on the tape, » Calabresi told CNN’s Jake Tapper. « The transcript is a good place for people to go to assess that. He was — we describe it in the piece as well, there’s some sort of colored description of how he appeared in there. »ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos, who sat down with Biden in last week’s high-stakes interview, said bluntly according to TMZ, « I don’t think he can serve four more years. » BIDEN PANNED FOR NOT BEING CERTAIN ABOUT WHETHER HE WATCHED THE DEBATE: ‘HE DOESN’T KNOW???’In June 2022, the Associated Press landed one of Biden’s only print interviews during his presidency. In the transcript of that interview released by the AP, it described parts of Biden’s quotes as « inaudible » 11 times and « garble » twice, signaling how the president regularly fumbles over his words. « If I had told you (garble) … You’re not doing (inaudible), » one quote read from the interview transcript. Biden also went viral last year for wandering off set on live television as MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace wrapped up their interview. »Before the debate there were brief moments when Biden’s cognitive fitness emerged as a major focus of the press corps, including after Biden’s ‘Where’s Jackie?’ gaffe of September 2022, when the briefing room devolved into a testy prosecution of Karine Jean-Pierre’s ‘top of mind’ excuse — with loudly shouted questions about the president’s mental acuity coming from journalists who do not work for outlets with conservative opinion sections, » one White House reporter told Fox News Digital. « However, on most pre-debate days, questions about Biden’s age and ability to serve a full second term were regarded as rude and best handled with extreme delicacy. Now, it’s socially acceptable to ask nearly any question about Biden’s mental health. »The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

So with each passing day, it becomes clear that we’re living in a country run by a demented royal family. You got the mad King, a senile dude who can barely hold onto the presidency, much less his own bowels. You got the evil Queen, an ego-mad status seeker who demands to be called a doctor even though she’s not. It’s a doctorate in education. That’s like demanding to be called a pilot, because a flight attendant once pinned some wings on your shirt when you were 12. True, getting a doctorate in education is about as hard to acquire as a horse burger at my slaughterhouse. And of course, there’s the entitled Prince, a cut rate Caligula, whose idea of a family outing is an orgy. It feels like they need their own theme song. GREG GUTFELD: DEMOCRATS AND THE MEDIA HAVE BEEN EXPOSEDLet’s start at the top. The guy’s hanging by a thread and that thread is hanging by a hair plug. On Monday, Joe sent a letter saying he’s staying in. I’m told we have a copy of it. It reads in part, quote, ‘’The voters of the Democratic Party have voted. They have chosen me to be the nominee of the party. Do we now just say this process didn’t matter, that the voters don’t have a say? »Well, in truth, Democrat voters have less choice than the orphans I hire to shave my back. In short, the letter says we successfully lied to you. It’s too late, —- off. It’s defiant. He is raging not just against the Democrats, but against the dying of the light. He’s saying to the Dems, come and get me. Will they? Not if the evil Queen can help it. During a solo campaign stop in North Carolina yesterday, Jill claimed Joe is all in. If she means entombed, she’s right. He supported your career? What exactly did he do for your career other than marry you? He didn’t stop being a senator so you could go to fake doctor school. You were a substitute teacher. You weren’t separating conjoined twins. So, like one of those sign language interpreters, you see her now at every event, front and center, waving her arms like she’s warning people away from a bathroom that Jerry Nadler just left. The signal is a vote for Joe is a vote for me. She’s like Leonard Skynyrd. Yeah, they still tour, even though everyone’s dead. And yet the media is terrified to call her out because she’d do anything to stay where she is. She doesn’t want to go back to Delaware. No one does. The only thing in Delaware worth seeing are the signs to New Jersey. But her compassion is as phony as her degree. She should be teaching summer school to the slow kids but instead masquerades as the good wife as she pushes her confused husband into traffic. And how will that play out? Joe can’t resign. She’ll be seen as the villain. It’ll be humiliating. No more parties. No more expensive dresses. No more spots on ‘The View’, gagging on the persistent, pungent blasts of Whoopi’s farts. So she’s forcing him to do this? Not for his health. He’s dying. This is for her. And she knew these days were coming. Don’t scream, just talk. That’s exactly what I say to Judge Jeanine. But they let her talk and she doesn’t. Maybe she really is the acting president. Pretty obvious that Jill is the one out there campaigning because Joe can’t. If you wanted to prove that the debate was a one-off disaster, he’d be out there proving it. Instead, all he did yesterday was call in with morning breath and yell. But to his credit, at least he didn’t try to order a pizza. And for once, people saying he’s lost his mind weren’t talking about Scarborough. Yeah, but what about the Prince? Joe’s fun-loving son, Hunter, is now the commander-in-chief’s de facto gatekeeper. More like de facto crypt keeper. But this job is right up Hunter’s alley. Hunter is used to holing up in hotel rooms for weeks at a time, planning and plotting. And who better to give Joe something to keep him awake? We already know how he can get cocaine delivered right to the White House. It’s weird that after all of this, Hunter is in the Oval Office. Can you believe that? From a halfway house to the White House. From crackhead to Lincoln’s bed, from meth pipes to stars and stripes. All of this is insane. You know, they told you that if you didn’t vote for Joe, the White House would be occupied by a power-hungry tyrant who refuses to leave office even when everyone knows he’s unfit and that a convicted felon would be running the country. Guess they were right.

Fox News host Sean Hannity addresses calls for President Biden to ‘step aside’ as some Democrats and those from the media are now « all acting shocked. »SEAN HANNITY: Top Democrats have now called on his [Trump] opponent, Joe Biden, to step down. We’ve been hearing it since the debate. Multiple editorial boards have done the same. Left wing hosts, pundits, cable news have been pleading with Joe to please leave the race. Many of Biden’s friends and allies publicly diagnosing him with dementia, and said he was not capable of serving another four years. Even George Stephanopoulos, who just interviewed Biden, said he doesn’t think Biden can serve another term. This has been transparent. This has been obvious for over four years, as President Trump addressed this tonight as a huge cover-up. But everyone around Biden, every Democrat, the state-run media mob, they have all been involved in the Joe Biden cognitive decline cover-up. They all lied. And now they’re all acting shocked. They’re feigning surprise. ABC’S GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS AFTER BIDEN INTERVIEW: ‘I DON’T THINK HE CAN SERVE FOUR MORE YEARS’…And another, you know, lie of historic proportions. And they’ve known the whole time. And with that said, while Joe Biden in many ways just had the best day since the debate, with the help of his usual teleprompter, the President delivered a whopping and a pretty decent 15-minute speech for him in front of NATO. Donald Trump’s speech just went on nearly an hour and twenty minutes. Well, it should be, by the way, a 15-minute speech, a layup for any U.S. president, especially with a teleprompter. Well, for President Biden, it was high drama all day long. All eyes on Biden. Article after article, the world is watching, our allies are watching.

The article recalled how Inhofe famously brought a snowball onto the Senate floor in February 2015, which the outlet described as « an embarrassing attempt to prove that climate change is not real. »The Associated Press’ headline characterized Inhofe as a « defense hawk who called human-caused climate change a ‘hoax.’ »CRITICS ACCUSE BUTTIGIEG OF ‘PLAYING POLITICS’ AFTER COMMENT LINKING TURBULENCE TO CLIMATE CHANGEPolitico published its article with the initial headline, « Former Sen. There’s been talk about whether Lamb will be showing up for the start of training camp later this month as well. Lamb’s importance to the Cowboys’ success since he was taken out of Oklahoma 17th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft has been very clear and he, like his teammates, wants to be compensated accordingly. According to Spotrac, Lamb is in line to be among the highest-paid receivers in the NFL with a market value of $34 million. Minnesota Vikings star Justin Jefferson – who was taken five picks after Lamb – leads the pack financially after receiving his massive extension this offseason, which will pay him $35 million per season. Philadelphia Eagles veteran A.J. The role of that neurologist, Kevin Cannard, had not been previously disclosed. The White House issued a non-denial, saying a variety of specialists from Walter Reed visit the White House.Biden has repeatedly refused to take a neurological exam.Look, as someone who’s covered him since the 1980s, when he enjoyed talking to reporters, I can tell you that Biden has wanted to be president his whole adult life. He’s been written off many times. He’s extremely unlikely to give up the job now. And if that’s the case, with 99% of the delegates pledged to him, no one can take it away from him.Some media liberals and Democrats are talking about a « blitz primary » to see who emerges at the Chicago convention, or having Biden resign and hand the presidency to Kamala Harris, but none of that will happen without Biden’s acquiescence.Now to the role of the media.There is no question that the media failed miserably to penetrate a White House coverup of the president’s true condition. Maybe they could have been more aggressive. Maybe they were deterred by the strong White House pushback against those who focused on the 81-year-old president’s age, which has been in the news for months.We could all see the decline, from what was on television, that Biden was mumbling, stumbling and at times less than coherent. If you go back and look at Biden from 2020 or 2021, the difference is stark.When the Wall Street Journal reported a month ago that « Behind Closed Doors, Biden Is Seen As Slipping, » the story was widely denounced, including by the « Morning Joe » panel. Now others, from the New York Times to CNN’s Carl Bernstein, have reported even more damaging stories.On Sunday’s « Media Buzz, » Mollie Hemingway and Ben Shapiro argued that this was an open secret and that journalists were deliberately covering for the president. Mollie said the White House press corps should resign en masse.But in the following segment, I asked FOX’s senior White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich how much she sees Biden on the road, to which she responded « not at all. »The only exceptions, she said, were increasingly rare shouted questions and an occasional gaggle.Karine Jean-Pierre got absolutely hammered yesterday for not disclosing the visits of the Parkinson’s specialist, according to White House logs, but said she was barred by law from confirming any names for security reasons.I know Biden better than anyone at FOX, but I’ve had zero access to the president or his inner circle – which hasn’t stopped me from talking about the obvious decline we’ve all witnessed on television. And there’s no question that the overwhelmingly negative coverage of Trump, viewed by most journalists as a danger to democracy, is a factor here.But the idea that journalists were sitting on these secrets negates how bubble-wrapped and isolated the candidate who wouldn’t even do a Super Bowl interview has been kept by his longtime handlers.

Russian missiles killed at least seven people and struck a children’s hospital in the Ukarinian capital, Kyiv, Monday, while another attack in the central Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih killed at least 10.The Russian barrage targeted five Ukrainian cities with more than 40 missiles of different types, hitting apartment buildings and public infrastructure, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a social media post.At least 20 people were killed and around 50 people were injured across the country in the Monday morning onslaught, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said. A Colorado teenager visiting friends in Virginia for Independence Day died after jumping into an electrified lake.Jesse Hamric, 18, was visiting friends in Virginia with his family when he jumped into Smith Mountain Lake outside Roanoke on Thursday morning, the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office said, according to WDBJ.After Hamric entered the water, his friends noticed something was wrong. Two people jumped into the lake to help him and said they immediately felt electricity in the water, which deputies later attributed to stray voltage coming from a dock at a nearby residence. Fire crews also tested the water and detected electricity in the water, WDBJ reported.Deputies said the friends, who suffered minor injuries, were able to pull Hamric out of the water and performed CPR until first responders arrived at the scene at about 4 a.m.SOUTH CAROLINA MAN DIES AFTER LIGHTING FIREWORK ON TOP OF HIS HEAD TO ‘SHOW OFF’Hamric was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, deputies said, according to Steamboat Pilot & Today. A missing 14-year-old American boy has been found safe after he left a cruise ship that docked in Germany and disappeared, authorities said Saturday.Aydin Brown was found unharmed at around 10 p.m. in Brandenburg, a city over two hours away from where he went missing in the port town of Rostock-Warnemünde on Thursday, local police said.Brown was last seen exiting the Caribbean Princess cruise ship shortly after it docked on July 4 at the port of Warnemünde.
