[ad_1]

The juror dismissed from the Alex Murdaugh murder trial who became known as the « Egg Juror » can be seen in an exclusive photo obtained by Fox News Digital as she leaves the courthouse after her dismissal with a plastic shopping bag containing the grocery item for which she is nicknamed.Fox News Digital is publishing the photo after the « Egg Juror, » whose real name is Myra Crosby, chose to speak out publicly for the first time to Fox News’ Martha MacCallum in an exclusive interview that was released Tuesday on Fox Nation.Crosby earned the « Egg Juror » moniker after she went viral during a moment in court when Judge Clifton Newman dismissed her from the case. Crosby asked if she could get her dozen eggs and purse before leaving, eliciting laughter from the courtroom. Another panelist had brought in the eggs to give away, and Crosby explained that she did not want to leave them behind. « At the time, you have to remember, we were just coming to where groceries were ungodly and a dozen eggs was $8. I wanted my farm-fresh eggs. I’m sorry, I’m a country girl. I like eggs, » she said.During the interview on Fox Nation, Crosby said she believes the presiding judge made a mistake by dismissing her from the double murder case. She claims the clerk of the court, Becky Hill, targeted her for removal from the jury because she was not firm on Murdaugh’s guilt.EXCLUSIVE: MURDAUGH JURORS GIVE BEHIND-THE-SCENES TESTIMONIES FROM SOUTH CAROLINA’S TRIAL OF THE CENTURYAppearing with Crosby for the sit-down interview was the juror known as « Juror Z, » whose real name is Mandy Pearce. The jurors’ interview comes just weeks after the South Carolina Supreme Court agreed to take on Murdaugh’s appeal based on jury tampering allegations. ALEX MURDAUGH COULD GET NEW SOUTH CAROLINA TRIAL AS SUPREME COURT AGREES TO TAKE UP JURY TAMPERING CASEMurdaugh, 56, was convicted in 2023 for killing his wife and son on a family hunting estate in 2021 to allegedly distract from his ever-growing list of financial crimes and buy time and sympathy as he attempted to cover it up. He is serving two life sentences for the murders. The jurors’ interview can be seen in the Fox Nation exclusive « The Fall of the House of Murdaugh: From Egg to Z. » Crosby on Tuesday also released her book chronicling the trial, « Because Enough is Enough, A Tell All Book: How Juror 785 was Wrongly Kicked Off the Jury at the Alex Murdaugh Trial. » Fox News’ Bradford Betz and Taylor Penley contributed to this report.

California district accused of crafting plan to promote antisemitic curriculum ‘under the radar’: Lawsuit

[ad_1]

A California school allegedly attempted to cover up its « antisemitic » ethnic studies program, according to a lawsuit filed by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). The Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) is accused of intentionally violating the Brown Act, California’s open meetings laws, to develop and approve antisemitic curriculum « under the radar, » according to a motion filed in the lawsuit, the ADL announced on Monday. The lawsuit, originally filed in September 2023, was brought against SAUSD on behalf of The Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law, which works to advance the civil and human rights of the Jewish people, and its membership arm, Southern Californians for Unbiased Education (So-CUE). The ADL, along with the Brandeis Center, the American Jewish Committee (AJC) and the Covington & Burling law firm filed the motion with new evidence that it claims supports its allegations that the school district prevented the public, in particular the Jewish community, from providing public comment to prevent antisemitic and biased content in its ethnic studies curricula. A hearing in the case is scheduled for Sept. 19. Under the Brown Act and AB 101, which was passed in 2021 and made ethnic studies a requirement for graduation from all public high schools in California, school boards must make the public aware of the course’s proposed curricula and allow for public comment before approving any new content. The lawsuit, the ACLU claims, is aimed at preventing antisemitic content from being taught in SAUSD while the school board goes through the process of course approval. The lawsuit also asks the court to declare that SAUSD violated the Brown Act, bar the district from teaching unlawfully approved courses and order school officials to follow open meeting laws going forward. Examples uncovered in the discovery period of the lawsuit show that members of SAUSD’s Ethnic Studies Steering Committee noted in an official agenda that it needed to « address the Jewish question » when they learned about antisemitism concerns from the Jewish community, according to the motion. SAUSD officials also reportedly floated the idea of using Jewish holidays to approve courses to reduce the likelihood that Jews would attend school board meetings. James Pasch, ADL senior director of national litigation, told Fox News Digital that open, public meetings are required by law to prevent these exact situations. »Instead of welcoming input from the community as the way governing bodies can do, should do and are required to do under California state law, they saw Jews as an obstacle to exclude in the process, » he said. « As a direct consequence of that exclusion, there is now anti-Israel, anti-Jewish content in the ethnic studies curricula. At the end of the day, what we are asking for, what is required under the law is for a seat at the table. »CALIFORNIA STUDENTS REQUIRED TO LEARN ‘ETHNIC STUDIES’ FACE DEBATE OVER GAZA WAR, UNDERSTANDING JEWS AS WHITE »The curriculum passed, so there’s ongoing harm, and we’re asking the court to step in to stop and go back to the starting line, where there is an open process from the beginning and that the ethnic studies curricula could be passed based on facts and truth, » he added. L. Rachel Lerman, general counsel of the Brandeis Center, which is both a plaintiff and counsel in the case, indicated that the situation in Santa Ana seems to be a problem throughout the education system, specifically in California, where she believes « there’s a lack of transparency at many levels. »At the state level, California created a model Ethnic Studies curriculum that was approved for use after the first two versions were deemed too antisemitic following public outcry, she explained. But schools in California don’t have to use the model curriculum, they can create their own as long as it stays within the confines of the law. « You’re not supposed to be violating the anti-discrimination laws, you’re not supposed to be putting back into the class what was taken out of the earlier curricula that were rejected, » she said. « But a lot of activists were determined to bring that stuff right back in. »Senior members of the Steering Committee, which was in charge of developing the curriculum, reportedly stated: « Jews are not a disadvantaged ethnic group in the U.S. because they were never slaves, » that « Jews greatly benefit from white privilege, so they have it better, » and « we don’t need to give both sides. We only support the oppressed, and Jews are the oppressors, » according to the motion. That same committee also hired an external consultant whose social media musings equated Israel with « settler colonialism » and actively promoted anti-Israel bias and antisemitism, according to the motion. « Israel is nothing more than European settler colonialism draped in religion defended by white guilt and capitalism, » the consultant espoused on social media. CALIF. PARENTS SLAM ‘DIVISIVE ETHNIC STUDIES CURRICULUM: ‘TEACHING THEM TO BE HATEFUL TOWARDS PEOPLE’According to the motion, one committee leader allegedly referred to the sole Jewish member as a « colonized Jewish mind » and a « f—ing baby » for expressing concerns over antisemitism, while another leader referred to the Jewish Federation of Orange County as « racist Zionists » and suggested that SAUSD should not « cave » to their representatives. That same representative reportedly refused to call Hamas a terrorist organization even after the October 7 terrorist attack at the hands of Hamas, arguing that it would be « dehumaniz[ing] » to call Hamas members « terrorists. » Jewish staff at SAUSD reportedly complained about the « thinly veiled antisemitism » coming from Steering Committee leaders and were « hurt by some of the things » they « said about Jews, » according to the motion. When members of the community discovered the reported covert actions of the school board to approve the material, they appeared at a meeting to publicly comment but were harassed with antisemitic rhetoric. NEA SOCIAL JUSTICE TRAINER ADMIT CRITICAL RACE THEORY IN K-12 DESPITE CLAIMS BY UNION BOSS BECKY PRINGLESAUSD told Fox News Digital that the case will soon be heard in court, where the district will « defend its action of approving certain Ethnic Studies courses mandated by California’s legislature as new graduation requirements. » »It has been alleged in a lawsuit filed against the District that it violated state law in two respects: (1) it failed to adhere to the ‘open meeting’ requirements set out in what is called the Brown Act in approving the courses and (2) certain materials offered to teachers as resources in teaching the courses in question are unlawfully biased in that they portray the State of Israel and the Jewish community in a negative way, » the statement said. « The District denies these claims and will present counter arguments and facts to the Court for consideration and is optimistic that the Court will ultimately find in favor of the District. »Marci Lerner Miller, the director of legal investigations at the Brandeis Center, told Fox News Digital that the evidence that SAUSD broke California law is « overwhelming. » »The case has wide implications because it serves as an example of really extreme measures taken to keep things from the public eye, which is really what the Brown Act and AB101 were intended to prevent, » she said. « We see what happens when things are taken out of public view, things like antisemitism are rampant. » Pasch said the ADL is « disappointed » that the district « remains unrepentant regarding its violations of state law and the deeply offensive and anti-Semitic statements made by district officials. » »Our evidence is based primarily on the district’s own records, and we look forward to laying out that evidence to the court in this case, » he said.

NJ residents hit with doubled bills as lawmakers fume at Murphy’s ‘energy disaster plan,’ demand hearings

[ad_1]

After a surge in home energy bills that left many New Jersey residents with costs that have doubled, or more, there have been widespread calls for hearings to hold the state utility commission, the governor and supporters of green energy accountable.State Sen. Mike Testa, R-Salem, echoed those calls and said on Wednesday that much of the blame goes to Democrat Gov. Phil Murphy’s « Energy Master Plan, » launched in 2020. »New Jersey is already one of the most unaffordable states in the United States of America. Now people are being hit with energy bills that are essentially doubled. And look, I get it that it was a hot July, but it wasn’t that hot that your energy bills should have doubled, » Testa said. One constituent apparently told Testa they raised their thermostat four degrees on average this summer in the hopes of saving money but that the cost still somehow increased « significantly. »GOP LAWMAKER TORCHES OFFSHORE WIND PROJECTS AS MAYOR WARNS OF ‘STAR WARS’ BACKDROPSHomeowners in suburban Morris County vented about the news on a local social media group, according to the Morristown Daily Record, with a Parsippany resident questioning a $782 monthly bill. »Quite frankly, what I think happened is, via the Murphy Energy Master Plan that I’ve often called the energy disaster plan, it seemed that the BPU (New Jersey Board of Public Utilities) and the Murphy administration are working in tandem chasing this green energy dream. »It’s what I call the energy disaster plan. It’s a green energy nightmare, » he said, adding that BPU officials went so far as to wear windmill pins at public functions amid New Jersey’s kerfuffle over offshore turbines. In a lengthy statement, BPU acknowledged it had received correspondence from New Jerseyans and offered several potential reasons for the rate hikes. The board cited increases in generation costs and usage, and it asked customers to contact their utility or the board right away if they find an « anomaly and cannot determine an explanation » A one-time $175 bill credit program is also available, a board spokesperson said.IDAHO FARMER BLASTS BIDEN’S WINDMILL PROJECT: ‘IT WILL DESTROY THE DESERT’PJM, the energy transmission company that covers much of the Mid-Atlantic, offered data to Fox News Digital on the matter as well.PJM research showed electricity demand is likely to increase in the region particularly due to « proliferation of high-demand data centers » and « thermal generators retiring at a rapid pace due to government and private sector policies as well as economics. »Meanwhile, at the federal level, Rep. Jeff Van Drew, R-N.J., fumed at the BPU this week in a letter obtained by Fox News Digital, which cited « thousands » of constituents discovering unbearable bill increases. »Given these alarming reports, I demand that the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) hold a public hearing in South Jersey to allow residents to voice their concerns directly to the Board, » he wrote, adding the board must also determine whether there is a correlation between the rate hikes and the offshore wind turbine operations in his Cape May district.Van Drew said New Jersey officials must take the situation seriously, and he dismissed claims that the « unseasonably warm summer » was the only variable. »We need transparency and accountability from the NJBPU to ensure that the needs and concerns of South Jersey residents are being effectively addressed, » he said.Van Drew previously noted how Danish green power company Ørsted withdrew its windmill plans for the Jersey Shore despite Murphy’s full support and taxpayer funding: « They still couldn’t make it. »While Murphy’s office did not return a request for comment, the governor previously praised his Energy Master Plan’s goal of 100% clean energy by 2050 in the Garden State. »The Energy Master Plan comprehensively addresses New Jersey’s energy system, including electricity generation, transportation and buildings, and their associated greenhouse gas emissions and related air pollutants, » he said.In a statement Tuesday, the Murphy administration highlighted a « Residential Energy Assistance Payment (REAP) Initiative » to provide financial relief to thousands of households, of the same $175 figure cited by BPU. »Making our state more affordable for New Jersey families has been the top priority since day one, » Murphy said in the statement.State Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin, D-Perth Amboy, added it is « great to see this resource added to the growing list of support available to residents who need a little extra help in our state. »Assemblywoman Nancy Munoz, R-Summit, said price-per-kilowatt hour increases averaged 8.6% in Central Jersey. »It’s simple economics: When supply drops and demand surges, prices go up, » she told Fox News Digital. »I’m of the belief that Americans are innovative. … The government can’t be mandating deadlines at the same time that they’re … shutting down natural gas production. »Munoz, who serves on the Budget Committee, said there are likely Democrats who agree the rate hikes are a problem: « That’s kind of a silly concept for them to think, like, do they not care that their constituents are the ones that are having to absorb these massive increases in cost? »CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPFox News Digital reached out to state Senate President Nick Scutari, D-Clark, for such a perspective.Citing attempts to make New Jersey vehicle sales 60% electric by 2035, Munoz said there won’t be the proper infrastructure to fulfill the need, regardless of opinions on EVs themselves. When Testa was asked about other states’ similar green energy endeavors – such as then-New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo shuttering the Indian Point nuke plant on the Hudson River opposite Haverstraw in 2020 – he expressed relief that crackdowns hadn’t gotten that far at home.A similar nuclear plant in Lower Alloways Creek Township remains operational, he noted, adding that he is proud to have it and its jobs and generation ability in his district.Testa said the state’s energy portfolio is 50% natural gas, 40% nuclear and 10% other, which flies in the face of Murphy’s aversion to additional natural gas production. While some energy experts fear crises arising from nuclear power, such as the 1979 Three Mile Island meltdown in Dauphin County, Pa., Testa said technology has advanced since and that there are also small modular nuclear reactors similar to those on submarines that could generate safe, clean energy inland at low cost. »By the way, we’re positive that those don’t kill whales, » he said.

Feds charge 2 Europeans with ‘swatting’ plot targeting members of Congress, other elected officials

[ad_1]

Federal prosecutors have charged two European men with « swatting » dozens of members of Congress and other U.S. elected officials, including a former president and president-elect, according to court records unsealed on Wednesday.Thomasz Szabo, 26, of Romania, and Nemanja Radovanovic, 21, of Serbia, allegedly targeted roughly 100 people with « swatting » calls to instigate an aggressive response by police officers at the victims’ homes, a federal indictment alleges.Neither the former president nor any of the other lawmakers are named in a U.S. Secret Service agent’s affidavit. While the two defendants are not explicitly charged in the indictment with threatening a former president, one of the alleged victims is identified as a « former elected official from the executive branch » who was swatted on Jan. 9, 2024. « While some of these calls targeted private citizens chosen seemingly at random, most of the calls targeted public officials, family members of public officials, and other prominent individuals, » the agent wrote.Online court records in Washington didn’t say if Szabo or Radovanovic have been arrested or if they are represented by attorneys. A court filing accompanying their indictment said investigators believed they were in separate foreign countries last week.Secret Service agents questioned Szabo in Romania in January. He told them that he has been involved in both swatting and bomb threats since late 2020, the affidavit says.Agents questioned Radovanovic in Serbia in February. He recited the elements of a « script » that he used during his swatting calls, according to the affidavit. It says Radovanovic claimed to be acting at the direction of a juvenile who provided him with victims’ addresses.HOW TO RECLAIM YOUR PHONE AND BLOCK UNWELCOME POLITICAL TEXT MESSAGESSzabo and Radovanovic are both charged with conspiracy and more than two dozen counts of making threats. The plot spanned more than three years, from December 2020 through January 2024, according to prosecutors. A federal grand jury in Washington, D.C., handed up the indictment last Thursday. The indictment said Szabo organized and moderated chat groups to coordinate swatting attacks against 40 private citizens and 61 officials, including cabinet-level members of the federal government’s executive branch, the head of a federal law enforcement agency, a federal judge, current and former governors and other state officials. In January 2021, three days before President Biden’s inauguration, Szabo called a crisis intervention hotline and threatened to detonate explosives at the U.S. Capitol, and kill the president-elect, according to the indictment. »Swatting is not a victimless prank — it endangers real people, wastes precious police resources, and inflicts significant emotional trauma, » Matthew Graves, the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, said in a statement. The FBI reported a surge in swatting calls in late 2023 and early 2024, with some of the targets linked to court cases against former President Trump. A fake emergency call reported a shooting at the home of U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, who is overseeing Trump’s election subversion case in Washington. Justice Department special counsel Jack Smith also was the subject of a fake emergency call on Christmas Day of 2023.The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Johnny Manziel on how addiction issues got worse after Browns drafted him: ‘I learned what depression was’

[ad_1]

Johnny Manziel still remembers the moment his football career went all wrong. He remembers the lights and crowd of Radio City Music Hall in New York City on draft night 2014. He remembers the moment he walked on stage after getting drafted in the first round by the Cleveland Browns after a successful college career. And more than anything else, he remembers the crippling depression that struck him afterward. « I had the chance to walk across the stage at Radio City Music Hall and be a No. 1 draft pick in the NFL. I had everything in my life I could have ever wanted. I had money. I had fame. … And, for some reason, when I got there and I got everything that I wanted, I think that was truly the most empty I had ever felt inside, » Manziel said during a Q&A with students and recovery addicts at the annual VitAL health conference at the University of Alabama Monday in video obtained by Fox News Digital.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM »I think from there I started to really turn and isolate and focus on doing the wrong things, doing things that temporarily made me feel better, that temporarily made me happy. So, I learned slowly what depression was. » At the time, Manziel was entering the NFL after two years of being one of the top stars in college football history. His two-year run at Texas A&M included a Heisman Trophy, a historically shocking win against Alabama, several broken records and a scandalous suspension for illegally signing autographs for money. But his star dimmed quickly in Cleveland. Manziel checked into rehab in April 2015, just four months after the end of his rookie season. He was cut by the Browns in 2016, shortly after the end of his second season. His continued issues with alcohol and drugs reportedly factored heavily into his standing on the team. Manziel says his drinking problems got worse when he struggled with football. »As much as I loved football and as much as I was great at it, I think there was something else in college and high school that I got really good at, and that was partying, » Manziel said Monday. « I think, for me, as things started to go back in my football life, I turned to something else that I was really good at. »Manziel’s NFL performance reflected the shift in his priorities. In just eight starts over two seasons, he went 2-6. His only two wins came in 2015 against a Tennessee Titans team that went 3-13 and a San Francisco 49ers team that went 5-11. Manziel finished with a career stat line of 1,675 yards passing yards with seven touchdowns, seven interceptions, a completion percentage of 57% and 22 sacks. MICHIGAN’S DONOVAN EDWARDS BLOCKING OUT NOISE AMID TEAM’S SIGN-STEALING ALLEGATIONSFormer Browns coach Mike Pettine, who was involved in the decision to draft Manziel, admitted to reporters in December 2015 that those problems weren’t visible to the Browns while the quarterback was still in college and that it seemed the team got a very different player than the one at Texas A&M. « You see the reputation, what was out there, » Pettine said that year of Manziel’s pre-draft analysis. « I don’t think we anticipated his problems, his issues, how deep-rooted they were, the extent of it. »The difference was Manziel had experienced depression after getting drafted by Cleveland. In addition to alcohol, Manziel has said in the past that he lost 40 pounds in 2015 due to excessive use of cocaine. In February 2018, during an interview with « Good Morning America, » however, Manziel said he was going fully sober.Manziel indicated on Monday in Alabama that he has been avoiding alcohol for some time now. »Alcohol was detrimental and drugs were detrimental to where I was trying to go in my life. I really didn’t see that until it was too late. The way I view things and the way I look at things now, it doesn’t have a place in my life. It doesn’t serve me any better. I’m not any better by going out and drinking or doing drugs, » Manziel said. « I’m looking to live a healthier, more pure lifestyle, and it took me a long time to get to that point. »Manziel will be joining The Action Network’s « Big Bets on Campus » podcast as a college football analyst this week, the company announced Wednesday. Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

39 days: Kamala Harris has yet to do formal press conference since emerging as Democratic nominee

[ad_1]

Vice President Kamala Harris’ interview drought finally comes to an end on Thursday, but after 39 days as the presumptive and now official Democratic nominee for president, she has yet to do an official press conference, and it’s not clear if she’ll ever do one as a candidate.Under pressure to sit down for a substantive interview after weeks of stonewalling, she agreed to a sit-down with CNN’s Dana Bash on Thursday. She will be joined in the interview by running mate Tim Walz.During one of her rare and brief press gaggles since taking over the nomination from President Biden, Harris insisted on Aug. 9 that she wanted « to get an interview scheduled before the end of the month. » It took another 18 days for one to finally be announced.KAMALA HARRIS GRANTS FIRST INTERVIEW TO CNN AFTER WEEKS OF AVOIDING PRESS, TO BE JOINED BY TIM WALZAs to when she’ll do a formal press conference, that day may never come. »You will not see one press conference from her in the next 75 days until Election Day, » Fox News contributor Joe Concha predicted earlier this month.Former President Trump has sought to highlight the contrast in media availability between the two, sitting for several lengthy interviews in recent weeks and also holding a pair of press conferences.Harris has famously struggled when faced with tough questions in the past, often appearing to laugh uncomfortably or offering jumbled and confusing answers. In 2021, Harris struggled to explain a strategy for securing the border and infamously joked she hadn’t been to Europe, either, when NBC News anchor Lester Holt asked why she hadn’t visited the southern border. HOW LONG WILL THE KAMALA HARRIS HONEYMOON IN THE POLLS AGAINST DONALD TRUMP LAST?In 2023, The New York Times reported that she « all but went into a bunker for about a year, avoiding many interviews out of what aides said was a fear of making mistakes and disappointing Mr. Biden » after the « disastrous » sit-down with Holt.  Whether Bash will drill down on Harris’ numerous policy shifts from 2020 to 2024 remains to be seen. Harris has turned the 2024 race around since replacing Biden, giving Democrats renewed hopes they can keep the White House after things looked grim for their party after Biden’s debate debacle. But she took shots from even friendly media outlets for so blatantly dodging a flurry of interview requests, and only agreeing to a joint one when she finally ended the blackout. »She simply cannot be left unattended, » National Review writer Jeff Behar wrote on X before adding, « To quote a colleague at NR: Tim Walz is apparently Kamala Harris’s ‘emotional support midwesterner.’ »HUCKABEE SANDERS BLASTS HARRIS FOR DOING JOINT INTERVIEW WITH WALZ: CAN’T DO IT ‘BY HERSELF’Fox News Digital’s Paul Steinhauser contributed to this report.

California Republican lawmaker reacts to ‘crazy’ bill that would give undocumented first-time homebuyers money

[ad_1]

California Democrats are « crazy » for passing a progressive legislature that would give illegal immigrants up to $150,000 in first-time homeownership, officials said. The bill, AB 1840, would require the California Housing Finance Authority’s home purchase assistance program, or California Dream for All Program, to include illegal immigrants’ applications. The bill cleared the state Senate on Tuesday.CALIFORNIA CLOSE TO APPROVING $150K LOANS FOR ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS TO HELP PURCHASE HOMESIn a statement to Fox News Digital, California Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher (R-Yuba City) argued that the legislation would exacerbate the border crisis, the housing crisis and the high cost of living in the Golden State.EX-CALIFORNIA SLAMS STATE BILL THAT GIVES ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS HOUSING LOANS: ‘ASININE’ »I didn’t know it was possible to make the border crisis and the housing crisis worse with just one vote, but Democrats found a way, » Gallagher said. « Giving taxpayer-funded housing subsidies to illegal immigrants will drive costs even higher and encourage more chaos at the border. » »This is crazy, and it needs to stop, » he said. The California Dream for All program passed despite funds running out just 11 days after being instituted in June, which was awarded to 1,700 first-time homebuyers at the time. GREG GUTFELD: Why are these conservatives endorsing the most liberal presidential candidate of our lifetime?

[ad_1]

According to a recent report from USA Today, 238 Republican staffers signed a letter endorsing Kamala Harris. The letter claims that another Trump presidency would « irreparably damage our beloved democracy. » And although they disagree with the Dems, the alternative is « simply untenable. » Staffers worked for McCain, George W. Bush, Mitt Romney, meaning the same people who were also once deemed a threat to democracy by the Dems. How quickly the stupid forget. So how is it that 238 genuine conservatives are so offended they’re fleeing the GOP to glom onto the most liberal presidential candidate of our lifetimes? A lady unburdened by the weight of brain cells. A woman so left, she’s left reality. I mean, this is a crackpot who bailed out violent felons, wants to tax money you haven’t made yet, while also demanding that you pay for inmate sex changes. If she got any nuttier, you could feed her to an elephant. But the answer, as ever, is one-word: Trump. And it trumps everything. It’s never policy because they never mention it. Instead, they prattle on about nebulous fears while catering to a party that imports killers and rapists because, apparently, ours aren’t up to the job. And they wrote a similar letter in 2020. So how’d that work out? We know. It’s like being circumcised with a spork for the past four years. We could go through the list of disasters from the border to Afghanistan, crime, inflation, not to mention the odd staffing decisions. So shouldn’t these truth-tellers at least admit their endorsement came at a cost? Or could it be it didn’t cost them at all? They got a payoff — the media’s strange new respect, invitations to cocktail parties previously off-limits, a guest spot on CNN sniffing Jim Acosta’s farts. And so, after four years of left-wing lunacy, they went and did it again, as if nothing happened in between. And you know, it’s not a bad policy. Hell, even Harris is stealing Trump’s positions. JD VANCE CLAIMS KAMALA HARRIS IS RUNNING A ‘COPYCAT CAMPAIGN’ DURING STOP IN MAJOR SWING STATEInstead, it’s that he refused to do it their way. So, in a way, it’s like suing the doctor who saved your life because he shaved your head to cut the tumor out. So now they’re on the warpath like Liz Warren at a Columbus Day parade. You know, it’s no question these Republicans took similar abuse from the left that Trump takes now. Every day, George W. Bush was called a war criminal. They deemed Romney a bigot, a cracker who’d put Blacks back in chains. And there’s McCain, who was loved by the media until he ran against Obama. Then he became the old reactionary bigot who’d bomb Iran and cause World War III. It’s obvious these Republicans are more full of **** than a hotel toilet at an IBS convention. They’re really just swamp rats terrified of the orange monster because he flipped the script. When Trump came along, nothing went according to plan. Republican or Democrat, there’s an approved way of doing these things. Approved pipelines to produce candidates. And Trump unclogged that pipeline with a fire hose filled with Ex-Lax. No wonder they act like they got their prostates punched by Mike Tyson. VP HARRIS MOCKED FOR BEING ‘TOO SCARED’ TO DO INTERVIEW WITHOUT WALZ: ‘SHE SIMPLY CANNOT BE LEFT UNATTENDED’But remember, the Dems may be able to capture 238 drones, but Trump got a Tulsi and an RFK, Jr. And that’s a trade that I will take any day because those two aren’t just signing letters, they’re putting themselves out there offering ideas and discussing solutions — people who are, like Trump, willing to break the mold. So if you’re truly radical, a rebel in the purest sense, how can you not do the same? You know, they sued Trump, they tried to arrest him, they tried to kill him, they changed laws and the ways we voted to prevent him from winning, they shamed, targeted and hoaxed, not just him, but also his supporters. What does that tell you? He’s scary. Scarier than a court-ordered orgy with « The View. » So, this is the moment when you ask, do you want to join a petition of **** or a pirate ship full of scary people? The great thing about being on a pirate ship — you’ve already decided that you don’t give a **** what people think. You are free, freer than those petition-signing pansies. Unlike them, you aren’t desperate for acceptance. You are your own person. You don’t need to belong. You just need to be honest, especially on Nov. 5.

SEAN HANNITY: ‘Radical’ Kamala Harris cannot be trusted

[ad_1]

Fox News host Sean Hannity likens a vote for Vice President Kamala Harris to rolling the dice on a « Marxist, leftist, socialist » « radical » on « Hannity. » SEAN HANNITY: We begin with a warning for all Americans on the left and right, and in the middle: Kamala Harris cannot be trusted. Her only core value is her own personal, political gain and ambition. Now, for decades, Kamala has done and said pretty much anything to advance her political career.  HARRIS LEAVES OUT DEADLY BOTCHED AFGHANISTAN WITHDRAWAL IN SOARING PRO-MILITARY DNC SPEECH … You can vote for someone who actually wants to make America safer, more prosperous, more affordable and keep a system that is the greatest wealth-creating system in the world intact. It’s called « capitalism. » Or you could just roll the dice with a Marxist, leftist, socialist, Green New Deal radical who is left of Bernie Sanders, who will do or say anything for personal gain.  If Kamala really had a plan to make Americans safer — improve your quality of life — she would have done it.

Caitlin Clark laid out by Alyssa Thomas in Fever’s win over Sun

[ad_1]

Indiana Fever rookie phenom Caitlin Clark has had her fair share of bumps and bruises throughout her first WNBA campaign, and she was roughed up a bit Wednesday night against the Connecticut Sun. In the third quarter, Clark was trying to chase a Sun player when Connecticut center Alyssa Thomas laid her out with a pick on the perimeter. Clark hit the court hard after making contact with Thomas’ right shoulder.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMThe whistle was quickly blown for an offensive foul on Thomas, but that’s all it was, a common foul. Clark has been the victim of flagrant fouls this season, both of which came against the Chicago Sky. WNBA GREAT SUE BIRD SAYS CAITLIN CLARK IS PLAYOFF NIGHTMARE FOR OTHER TEAMS: ‘TROUBLE FOR EVERYBODY ELSE’The first was a check from Chennedy Carter, which made headlines in early June. Carter knocked Clark to the floor, and though it was initially called a common foul, the WNBA upgraded it to a flagrant foul. Carter defended it after the game, calling it a « basketball play. »Then Carter’s teammate, Angel Reese, another rookie star, hit Clark in the head on a block attempt in a different matchup with the Fever this season. Clark, again, hit the deck with force, and Reese was called for a flagrant foul after a review. Like Carter, Reese said she was just making a basketball play. Clark broke the WNBA rookie single-season record for 3-pointers in the first quarter Wednesday, hitting a stepback 26-footer over DiJonai Carrington for her first basket of the game. While Clark has been busting through WNBA rookie records this season, the Fever collected a tough win over the Sun, 84-80. Indiana is 15-16, sitting in seventh place overall in the WNBA standings. Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Brittany Mahomes seems to triple down on stance amid Trump support backlash on Instagram

[ad_1]

Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has recently hinted at support for Donald Trump and then defended her stance on social media. She delivered more on that topic Wednesday. The 28-year-old Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model and former college soccer player appeared to like several comments on her most recent Instagram post that indicated support for Trump. One of the comments she liked said « TRUMP-VANCE 2024. » The other comment referenced her recent social media activity that has suggested support for Trump and drawn backlash from those who do not support the former president. That comment said, « Glad to see you aren’t backing down. We are all entitled to our own opinions and shouldn’t be bullied into submission. » CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMKelly Stafford, the wife of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, appeared to like the second comment.TMZ Sports and the New York Daily News both caught Mahomes’ likes. By Wednesday evening, it appeared Mahomes had unliked those comments. Mahomes first indicated her support for Trump Aug. 13 when she liked Trump’s Instagram post that outlined the « 2024 GOP platform. » The like ignited a firestorm of backlash against the wife of the superstar quarterback. Among the critics were fans of Taylor Swift, who dates Chiefs star Travis Kelce. Multiple fan pages dedicated to Swift posted the screenshots of the like on social media, condemning Mahomes. JOHNNY MANZIEL SAYS ADDICTION ISSUES GOT WORSE AFTER BEING DRAFTED BY BROWNSThe model responded to the criticisms on her Instagram story Friday. »I mean honestly, To be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood, » she wrote. « There’s no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well. »She posted another cryptic message on her social media that may have referenced her recent controversy on Monday. « Contrary to the tone of the world today….you can disagree with someone, and still love them. You can have differing views, and still be kind, » she wrote Aug. 26. « Read that again! »Patrick Mahomes has never publicly expressed support for a political figure or affiliation. He told Time in April he would not speak about who he would vote for in the upcoming election. »I don’t want to pressure anyone to vote for a certain president, » Patrick said. « I want people to use their voice, whoever they believe in. I want them to do the research. »Brittany’s recent social media activity drew praise from conservative political commentator Candace Owens, who defended the NFL wife in an episode of the « Candace » podcast this week. « Brittany Mahomes has an attitude. She doesn’t care [that social media is angry], and I am here for it, » Owens said. « Let someone like a post, which they’re allowed to do because it’s an election, and you are not required to vote one way or the other. And that’s what Brittany Mahomes did. She sure stepped in it. She apparently liked a Trump post. »Brittany and Patrick were born in eastern Texas and grew up there. They started dating when they attended Whitehouse High School in Whitehouse, Texas, when Patrick was the school’s quarterback and Brittany played soccer. Whitehosue is a town with a population of about 8,500 and has a history of voting Republican, according to Data USA.Patrick Mahomes has donated $500 to the NFL Players Association’s political action committee, according to Open Secrets. Michigan athletic director says school will ‘fight’ NCAA on cheating scandal investigations

[ad_1]

University of Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel’s football program is being investigated for several alleged major violations of NCAA rules. During an appearance on « The Michigan Insider » this week, Manuel said he and the school will « fight » the NCAA during its investigations. »First of all, we’re going to fight when we need to fight, » Manuel said. « Also, where we have made mistakes, we’re going to admit them and deal with it. I don’t want people to think because we don’t talk about it publicly — and I can’t — that we’re not going to fight for what we think is right for the University of Michigan and the people that are here. We are. »CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMThe program is under investigation for alleged illegal sign stealing by former staffer Connor Stalions. The investigation started in the middle of last season and resulted in the suspension of former head coach Jim Harbaugh for the final three regular-season games. After the team won the national championship against Washington, Harbaugh departed to take over the Los Angeles Chargers, long before the investigations had concluded. The NCAA recently announced a four-year show cause order for Harbaugh as a result of its investigation into Michigan’s impermissible contact with recruits and players during the COVID-19 pandemic.Manuel added that his programs are not above the rules. »But, at the same time, you have to also understand that if we do things that are against the rules, that we know are against the rules, we need to admit it and move forward and deal with it. There’s a duality to that. There’s a sense that you have a responsibility to adhere to rules we say we’re going to participate in, but when it gets to a point where we feel like it is over the top, or we need to fight something, we certainly will, » he said. ALABAMA STAR JALEN MILROE SAYS MICHIGAN WON ROSE BOWL ‘FAIR AND SQUARE’Michigan running back Donovan Edwards told Fox News Digital this week the investigations don’t affect his team. « I personally don’t hear anything. We’re worried about today, not about anything else, » Edwards said. « We’re worried about what goes on in Schembechler Hall and not what other people say and controversy. All we can control is what we can control, and that’s our attitude, effort and what we do on a day-to-day basis. » Michigan received the final version of a notice of allegations from the NCAA related to the investigation into the alleged violations by Stalions, the NCAA and the school said Sunday. The school now has 90 days to respond. The school could then get a hearing in front of the NCAA’s committee on infractions, though a negotiated resolution is still possible.Stalions initially was placed on leave by the school and later resigned. He did not participate in the investigation. Stalions is expected to break his silence Tuesday on Netflix when the documentary « Sign Stealer » makes its debut on the streaming service.Harbaugh has denied any knowledge of the violations. Meanwhile, head coach Sherrone Moore, who was Harbaugh’s top assistant in 2023 and served as interim head coach during Harbaugh’s multiple suspensions, addressed his alleged relationship with Stalions two weeks ago. Moore has been accused of deleting text messages with Stalions. »I’ll just say this: I look forward to them being released, » Moore said of his text messages with Stallions. Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

French tennis star shares horrible messages she received after US Open upset: ‘There’s hundreds’

[ad_1]

Carolina Garcia, a French tennis player who shockingly lost to Mexico’s Renata Zarazua in the U.S. Open on Tuesday, shared a social media post imploring critics to be mindful of their words. Garcia, the 28th-ranked women’s singles player entering the final Grand Slam of the year, shared a heartfelt message on all her social media platforms on Wednesday, saying she’s been receiving horrible messages following the straight-sets defeat. « This are some of the messages I received lately after loosing (sic) some matches. Just a few of them. There’s hundreds, » Garcia said, while sharing some message in her X post that she’s been getting. « And now, being 30 years old, although they still hurt, because at the end of the day, I’m just a normal girl working really hard and trying my best, I have tools and have done work to protect myself from this hate. But still, this is not ok. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM »It really worries me when I think about younger players coming up, that have to go through this. People that still haven’t yet developed fully as a human and that really might be affected by this hate. Maybe you can think that it doesn’t hurt us. But it does. We are humans. And sometimes, when we receive this messages we are already emotionally destroyed after a tough loss. And they can be damaging. Many before me have raised the subject. And still, no progress has been made. »Some of the messages Garcia showed that she receives read, « You are a piece of s—, » and, « A clown belongs in the circus. »US OPEN FAN GOES VIRAL FOR AWKWARD MOMENT WITH WOMAN DURING MATCH: ‘PAIN’Garcia, who has been open about struggles in the past, including her battle with bulimia, brought up how betting on tennis has made these messages worse, among other things. « Social media platforms don’t prevent it, despite AI being in a very advanced position. Tournaments and the sport keeps partnering with betting companies, which keep attracting new people to unhealthy betting. The days of cigarette brands sponsoring sports are long gone. Yet, here we are promoting betting companies, which actively destroy the life of some people, » Garcia wrote. »Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying they should be banned as people are free to do whatever they want with their money. But maybe we should not promote them. Also, if someone decided to say this things to me in public, he could have legal issues. So why online we are free to do anything? Shouldn’t we reconsider anonymity online? »Garcia understands that these hate messages are likely to still come, but as she mentioned, it’s not acceptable to keep seeing them. So, as she prepares for her doubles match with her American partner Danielle Collins at the U.S. Open after being knocked out of women’s singles, she is hoping to spread a message of being kind. « I know those who write these terrible messages won’t change because of this, » she wrote. « But maybe you, next time you see a post from an athlete, singer or any other person, that has failed or lost, you will remember that she or he is also a human being, trying his best in life. « Be kind. Harris launches 2-day swing through crucial state hyped by GOP governor as must-win for Trump

[ad_1]

SAVANNAH, Ga. — Vice President Kamala Harris appears to be making a statement by choosing Georgia for her first campaign trail swing following last week’s Democratic National Convention.Harris on Wednesday kicked off a two-day bus swing through the southeastern part of the key battleground state accompanied by her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.Walz will head off to North Carolina for a Thursday evening fundraiser while Harris plans on « energizing thousands of Georgians at a rally in Savannah, » according to her campaign. The vice president’s message is that Georgia is once again in play in November’s election.THIS POPULAR GOP GOVERNOR SAYS HIS STATE’S A MUST WIN FOR TRUMPGeorgia has long been a reliably red state in White House elections, and Joe Biden narrowly edged then-President Trump in 2020 to become the first Democrat in nearly three decades to capture Georgia.Fast-forward to this year’s election, and Trump saw his slight edge in the polls in Georgia over Biden grow to a solid single-digit lead after the president’s disastrous performance in their one debate, a late June showdown in Atlanta. But in the 5½ weeks since the vice president replaced her boss atop the Democrats’ 2024 ticket, polls indicate that it’s once again a margin-of-error race in the Peach State.2024 COUNTDOWN: TRUMP CRISSCROSSING CAMPAIGN TRAIL WITH 10 WEEKS UNTIL ELECTION DAYGeorgia’s popular two-term conservative governor agrees. « Certainly this is a battleground state, » Gov. Brian Kemp emphasized in an exclusive Fox News Digital interview Tuesday. »I’ve been saying for a long time that the road to the White House is going to run through Georgia. And there’s no path for former President Trump to win, or any Republican … to get to 270 without Georgia, » Kemp said. But he added that Georgia « should be one that we win if we have all the mechanics that we need. And I’m working hard to help provide those in a lot of ways and turn the Republican vote out and make sure that we win this state in November. »HEAD HERE FOR THE LATEST FOX NEWS POLLING IN 2024 ELECTIONSo are the Democrats. »The Georgia Democratic coordinated campaign is running the largest in-state operation of any Democratic presidential campaign cycle, with over 190 Democratic coordinated campaign staff in 24 coordinated offices across the state, » the Harris campaign touted hours ahead of the vice president’s arrival in Savannah. This is Harris’ second stop in Georgia since taking over for Biden as the party’s standard-bearer. She previously hosted a large rally in downtown Atlanta. But this time around, Harris is barnstorming through the southern part of the state, far from Atlanta and its growing suburbs, which make up nearly 60% of Georgia’s population. The traditional route for Democrats to win statewide in Georgia is to concentrate on metropolitan Atlanta. But Quentin Fulks, who was principal deputy campaign manager under Biden and has remained in that role with Harris, is following the playbook from two years ago when he steered Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock’s narrow re-election victory over GOP challenger Hershel Walker. The strategy is to not only win big in Atlanta and its suburbs, but also to stay competitive in the rest of the state. »We have to make sure that we are competing everywhere across the state, » Fulks said Tuesday in an interview on MSNBC. « We’re going to continue to run in rural counties. …. We have to be statewide in that state and even compete in counties that Democrats don’t traditionally go. That is how you win statewide in Georgia. »WASH, RINSE, REPEAT: WHY JD VANCE IS CONCENTRATING ON THESE 3 STATESThe Harris campaign noted that « campaigning in Southeast Georgia is critical as it represents a diverse coalition of voters, including rural, suburban and urban Georgians — with a large proportion of Black voters and working-class families. »The Harris campaign appears to enjoy a large organizational advantage over Trump’s team in Georgia. And Republican strategists agreed that to recapture Georgia, Trump will need assistance from Kemp’s well-oiled and funded political machine to turn out GOP voters.Trump last week praised Kemp as he worked to patch up differences he’s had with the Georgia governor dating back to the 2020 election.Kemp on Thursday will join his wife, Georgia first lady Marty Kemp, and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who served in the Trump administration, to headline a fundraiser in Atlanta for the former president. »It’s my belief that we cannot afford four more years of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris or Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, which I think would probably be worse than even Biden and Harris were, » the governor argued. »I believe Republicans need to stay focused on litigating Kamala Harris and Joe Biden’s record. … We need to be telling people why they should vote for us, what we’re going to do to make things better than they are right now. »Get the latest updates from the 2024 campaign trail, exclusive interviews and more at our Fox News Digital election hub.

Of relevance to the Committee’s oversight is the impartiality of Judge Juan Merchan, the presiding trial judge, due to his refusal to recuse himself from the case in light of his apparent conflicts of interest and biases. » …Read moreRED FLAGS: Biden admin may revive asylum program shut down after ‘mass fraud’ …Read more’HEINOUS’: GOP lawmaker sounds alarm on key reasons why Walz agenda is ‘not good’ for the country …Read more‘UNDERMINING SAFETY’: Cruz says radical Biden-Harris policy is weakening airport security …Read moreCLOSER THAN EVER: Kamala gains on Trump on two key issues: poll …Read moreTOO LATE: RFK Jr. can’t remove name from ballots in 2 key states, despite backing Trump …Read moreLOOMING: With 9 days until voting starts, ‘election season’ kicks off sooner than you think …Read more‘HAS TO BE EARNED’: Major pro-life activist warns Trump needs to change ‘his tune’ on abortion …Read moreRATINGS SHIFT: Harris-Trump showdown: top political handicapper shifts ratings in key states …Read moreCAMELOT FRACTURES: Kerry Kennedy stumps for Harris after RFK joins Trump …Read moreSCHOOLHOUSE ROCKED: Migrant influx leads to MA controversy …Read moreBRING ON THE HEAT: Tim Walz addresses firefighters union …Read moreNEW DETAILS: FBI provides updated timeline of would-be Trump assassin’s activity …Read more‘DANGEROUSLY LIBERAL’: Heritage Foundation rips Harris policy record with new website, six-figure outreach to independents …Read more‘SICK AND TIRED’: Florida sheriff blasts DC over border security after illegal immigrants allegedly steal 9K pounds of berries …Read more’DEMILITARIZING OUR SCHOOLS’: Harris called for removing cops from schools ahead of 2020’s violence …Read more’NATIONWIDE PROBLEM’: Sanctuary city’s policies push violent migrant gang into suburbs …Read more’IT WILL COME TO LIGHT’: Trump shooting victims with life-altering injuries seek accountability …Read more’VEIL OF SECRECY’: Blue state’s GOP demands transparency from Dem leaders on cost of migrant crisis …Read moreDREAM ON: California Dream for All passes state senate, gives illegal immigrants home purchasing funds …Read moreSubscribe now to get the Fox News Politics newsletter in your inbox.Get the latest updates from the 2024 campaign trail, exclusive interviews and more on FoxNews.com.

‘Baywatch’ stars admit show ‘really wasn’t good,’ reveal how actors made it great

The plot of « Baywatch » « really wasn’t that good, » according to the show’s biggest stars years later. »Baywatch » starred David Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson, Jeremy Jackson, Alexandra Paul, Carmen Electra, Yasmine Bleeth, David Charvet, Nicole Eggert and more. The show ran from 1989 through 2001 and at its peak drew 1.2 billion viewers per week. Eggert, who portrayed Summer Quinn, teamed up with her former cast to reflect on the TV series in the docuseries « Baywatch: Moment in the Sun. »Nearly 35 years later, the cast can admit the plot lines were a little absurd. »The show really wasn’t good, » Hasselhoff admitted in the docuseries, via People magazine. « But we made it good because we had passion. »‘BAYWATCH’ STAR NICOLE EGGERT IN ‘GRAY AREA’ AFTER FINISHING CANCER TREATMENT: ‘THERE’S A LOT OF WAITING’Kelly Slater, who portrayed young surfer Jimmy Slade, recalled filming an episode where an octopus stole their surfboard and held them hostage. « I felt like the writing was so nonsensical in so many ways, » he said. However, the « nonsensical » writing seemingly helped the show. »We were the butt of jokes on ‘The Tonight Show With Jay Leno’ all the time, and every time he said a joke, our ratings went up, » co-creator Douglas Schwartz explained.LIKE WHAT YOU’RE READING? Biden-Harris admin working to ‘Trump-proof’ hundreds of DOJ jobs, watchdog says

[ad_1]

The Biden-Harris administration may be attempting to « Trump-proof » the Department of Justice (DOJ) by hiring permanent appointees to some federal positions, according to findings from a watchdog group’s public records request. Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) documents obtained by Protect the Public’s Trust (PPT) and shared with Fox News Digital show the administration is using an « obscure hiring authority » that bypasses normal hiring processes based on merit to secure DOJ positions that could thwart former President Trump’s agenda if he takes office in 2025. The Department of Justice (DOJ) is utilizing Schedule A hiring authority to fill hundreds of attorney and judge positions in career civil service roles without competitive selection, the watchdog group noted. HARRIS REPEATS DEBUNKED CLAIM TRUMP WANTS TO ‘BAN’ ABORTION DURING FIRST CAMPAIGN RALLY SINCE BIDEN QUIT RACE »The foundation of our democracy or our republic is the Constitution, and the Constitution vests decision making authority in the executive branch and the president, and then also in principal and inferior officers in the government agencies, so they are supposed to be representing the people, » PPT founder and former U.S Department of Education worker Michael Chamberlain told Fox News Digital in an interview. « The president is elected by the people. Now attempts to fight, whether it comes from career officials inside the government or others outside the government – especially inside the government – to undermine the ability of those principal and inferior officers to make those decisions, that seems to me to be very undemocratic, » he said.According to the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), while Schedule A is designed to hire individuals with disabilities or for specific roles like chaplains and scientists, it also secures positions beyond the current president’s term. JD VANCE VOWS TRUMP WOULD NOT IMPOSE FEDERAL ABORTION BAN, VETO IT IF IT COMES ACROSS HIS DESKAlthough federal law restricts Schedule A appointments from being « policymaking or confidential, » they are being used to staff highly « politicized » offices, such as the Environment and Natural Resources Division (ENRD), which plays a key role in advancing the Biden-Harris administration’s environmental policies and ensuring their continuity even under a potential future administration change.According to the documents, more than 150 attorneys were placed inside the DOJ’s Anti-Trust Division, and more than 100 immigration judges. Immigration judges determine « whether a noncitizen may remain in the United States or must leave the country, » according to the DOJ. »Until recently, anti-trust enforcement was a relatively technical and non-partisan division. But the Biden-Harris administration’s increasingly aggressive implementation has sparked complaints of politicized enforcement. The administration is also using Schedule A to install immigration judges – again, outside of the normal merit-based system – who will rule on cases of those in a position to benefit from the administration’s immigration policies, » PPT said in a news release.BIDEN ADMIN REFUSES TO REVEAL NATIONALITIES OF TERROR WATCHLIST MIGRANTS NABBED AT BORDERSchedule A was also used to hire attorneys for ENRD, which is responsible for enforcing environmental laws pertaining to the administration’s climate agenda, which includes the « collective pursuit of environmental justice, » and upholding the interests of Native American tribes, according to its website. »The ENRD is a vital office in advancing the Biden-Harris administration’s energy and climate policies, and the placement of Biden-Harris loyalists is a means to defend those policies even if a future Trump (or other) administration seeks to change them, » PPT said. »We were struck mainly by the magnitude of the hires rather than by any individual names, » Chamberlain said.Chamberlain added that certain offices, including ATF, the Office of the Inspector General and the Civil Rights Division, denied sharing records under privacy or related exemptions.Earlier this year, the Biden-Harris administration made it harder to fire federal workers. Biden deemed the rule to be « a step toward combatting corruption and partisan interference to ensure civil servants are able to focus on the most important task at hand: delivering for the American people. » The Office of Personnel Management, the government’s chief human resources agency, implemented new regulations this year barring career civil servants from being reclassified as political appointees, or as other at-will workers, who are more easily dismissed from their jobs. It comes in response to Schedule F, an executive order Trump issued in 2020 that sought to allow for reclassifying tens of thousands of the 2.2 million federal employees and thus reduce their job security protections, according to The Associated Press. Fox News Digital did not hear back from the White House by publication deadline. Fox News Digital’s Danielle Wallace contributed to this report.

[ad_1]

The FBI on Wednesday provided additional details about would-be Trump assassin Thomas Crooks’ activity before and during the July 13 campaign rally that left one man dead. While the FBI has not established a definitive motive for the shooter or any co-conspirators with advanced knowledge of the attack, Kevin Rojek, special agent in charge of the FBI Pittsburgh Field Office, told reporters during a press call that Crooks had « a sustained detailed effort to plan an attack on some event, meaning he looked at any number of events or targets. »The 20-year-old gunman « became hyper-focused » on Trump’s rally in Butler when it was announced in early July. He had no identifiable political ideology, Rojek added.Over the month leading up to the attack, Crooks made more than 60 searches related to both President Biden and former President Trump. In late September 2023, an account associated with Crooks « searched the former president’s campaign schedule and upcoming appearances in Pennsylvania, » Rojek said.TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT VICTIMS WITH LIFE-ALTERING INJURIES SEEK ACCOUNTABILITY: ‘IT WILL COME TO LIGHT' »Next, from April of 2024 through July 12, the subject searched campaign events for both former President Trump and President Biden, including events scheduled to take place in western Pennsylvania specifically on July 4, 2024. On July 9, he searched ‘ballistic calculator,’ » Rojek said.On July 6, he searched for specific details about Trump’s event in Butler.TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT TASK FORCE CHAIR QUESTIONS ‘FROZEN’ RESPONSE TO SHOOTER AFTER TOURING SITE »The subject registered to attend the rally, and that same day he specifically searched for, ‘How far was Oswald from Kennedy?,’ ‘Where will Trump speak from at Butler Farm Show,’ ‘Butler Farm show podium,’ and ‘Butler Farm show photos,' » Rojek further explained. « On July 8, the subject search ‘AGR international.’ And on July 10, he searched ‘weather in Butler,’ and the 30 days prior to the attack, the subject conducted more than 60 searches related to President Biden and former President Trump. »He also noted « specific searches conducted on July 5 to include, ‘When is the DNC convention?’ and ‘When is the RNC in 2024?’ »TRUMP ASSASSINATION TASK FORCE REBUFFS PARALLEL PROBE: WE’RE ‘THE ONLY TASK FORCE OF JURISDICTION’The FBI confirmed that Crooks was seen walking outside the rally perimeter by a row of vendors at 4:26 p.m. on July 13, about an hour and a half before Trump began speaking.Video footage from a local business showed Crooks climbing up the American Glass Research (AGR) building and then traversing multiple rooftops between 6:05 and 6:08. WATCH: »Our overall finding is the subject was only on the roof for approximately six minutes prior to the shooting. Between 6:05 and 6:11 p.m., » when he was neutralized, Rojek said, later refuting rumors that there was a second shooter. The day of the rally, Crooks flew a drone for 11 minutes, between 3:51 p.m. and 4:02 p.m., Rojek told Fox News Digital.WATCH:The FBI’s observations from the drone’s flight path show it « would have been helpful for our subject to assess the security posture at the event, » the special agent-in-charge said.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP »However, we will never be able to determine the exact motivation for why the subject flew the drone, » Rojek added. « We can only do that based on our assessment of the flight path and what we’re able to determine through our analysis by the lab. »

Huckabee Sanders blasts Harris for doing joint interview with Walz: Can’t do it ‘by herself’

[ad_1]

Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders slammed Vice President Kamala Harris for choosing to do her first formal interview as the Democratic nominee for president alongside her running mate on a friendly network. »They know Kamala Harris can’t get through an interview all by herself. There is not a lot of confidence in somebody to become the leader of the free world and ask people to make her president of the United States when she can’t even sit down [for] an interview, » she told « Fox & Friends. »CNN revealed Tuesday that anchor Dana Bash would be taping a joint interview with Harris and Walz to be broadcast Thursday evening. It will mark the first time Harris has given a formal interview to the press since President Biden stepped out of the race on July 21 and essentially anointed her as his successor. With no opposition, Harris quickly clinched the necessary delegates to win the nomination without having to earn any primary voters’ support. VP HARRIS MOCKED FOR BEING ‘TOO SCARED’ TO DO INTERVIEW WITHOUT WALZ: ‘SHE SIMPLY CANNOT BE LEFT UNATTENDED’Sanders, who sparred with reporters frequently as President Trump’s second press secretary, said the move seemed like an admission by Harris’ team that she was unprepared to handle an interview by herself. »This isn’t even a tough interview. This is on CNN. This is one of their media allies, » Huckabee Sanders continued. « She should take this opportunity to show the American people that she can handle hard questions. It’s clear that her own team, in her own party, think she needs a babysitter, and that’s why they’re putting her vice presidential nominee on the stage with her so that he can step in and answer questions if things go like the clips we just saw, like she has done in previous interviews. »As vice president, Harris dodged media interviews for nearly a year after holding a « disastrous » interview with NBC’s Lester Holt in 2021, where she failed to explain the Biden-Harris administration’s strategy for securing the border, according to a New York Times report. »[W]hite House officials — including some in her own office — noted that she all but went into a bunker for about a year, avoiding many interviews out of what aides said was a fear of making mistakes and disappointing Mr. Biden, » the Times previously reported.VP NOMINEE TIM WALZ SITS FOR RARE INTERVIEW TO DISCUSS GUTTER MAINTENANCE WITH TIKTOKERSanders told « Fox & Friends » that the contrast « could not be more stark » between Harris and her old boss. »This matchup could not be more stark between the two candidates. Donald Trump has a record of success, of leading on things like building a strong American economy, securing our border, helping us have a strong presence on the world stage. While on the other hand, Kamala Harris has been part of an administration of total failure. Look at everything that has happened in the last four years. She has to own that. She cannot run away from it. And even prominent Democrats don’t have confidence in her ability to lead this country, » she said.Former Democrats Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard both endorsed Trump for president this month and joined his transition team this week. Sanders argued that even former Democrats don’t think Harris is capable of leading the country. »She was the laughingstock of the Biden administration just a few months ago, and now the hypocrisy is so unbelievable. They want us to believe that they truly think that she can take this job on, » she continued. »I think that the fact that they’re not letting her do an interview by herself tells us everything that we need to know. She is not prepared to lead the country. Donald Trump is, because he’s shown he can do it. Even prominent voices in the Democrat Party see that. And they’re joining the ticket and starting to campaign for him around the country. And I think it’s a great thing that he’s building this huge coalition that will help push him over the top in November. »CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPFox News’ Lindsay Kornick contributed to this report.

Harris-Trump showdown: Top political handicapper shifts ratings in key states

[ad_1]

A top non-partisan political handicapper is shifting three key states toward Vice President Kamala Harris in her 2024 election showdown with former President Donald Trump. The Cook Political Report is moving North Carolina from leans Republican to toss up. The Tar Heel State is one of seven battlegrounds across the country that will likely determine the outcome of the presidential election.Former President Barack Obama was the last Democrat to carry the state in the race for the White House, in the 2008 election. Four years ago, Trump narrowly edged President Biden in the state. However, following Biden’s disastrous debate performance against Trump in late June, the former president saw his lead in North Carolina grow to the mid single digits.WASH, RINSE, REPEAT: WHY JD VANCE IS CONCENTRATING ON THESE 3 STATESAfter Biden ended his 2024 re-election bid on July 21, and Harris replaced her boss at the top of the Democrats’ national ticket, the race in North Carolina tightened to a margin-of-error contest. »Trump hasn’t lost political ground since July; instead it’s that Harris has improved on Biden’s vote share by seven points, » Cook Political Report publisher and editor-in-chief Amy Walter wrote in explaining her ratings shift.2024 COUNTDOWN: TRUMP CRISSCROSSING CAMPAIGN TRAIL WITH 10 WEEKS UNTIL ELECTION DAY »In other words, the race is tightening, not because Harris is cutting into Trump’s vote, but because Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents are coming home, » Walter added.Trump, determined not to let North Carolina slip from his column, has campaigned in the state three times since Biden dropped out of the race five and a half weeks ago. Additionally, the Trump campaign outspent the Harris campaign by $8.3 million to run ads in North Carolina since the president dropped out of the 2024 race, according to the national ad tracking firm AdImpact. However, the Harris campaign currently has $30 million in ad reservations in the state, compared to just $7.3 million for the Trump campaign.GOP GOVERNOR SAYS TRUMP NEEDS TO CARRY HIS STATE TO WIN WHITE HOUSEThe Cook Political Report now joins another leading non-partisan political handicapper, Sabato’s Crystal Ball at the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics, in classifying North Carolina as a toss up.Walter also made a shift in two competitive presidential election states that the Democrats have reliably won for decades, moving Minnesota and New Hampshire from lean Democrat to likely Democrat. In the weeks after the Biden-Trump debate, polls indicated Trump making gains in Minnesota – where the GOP has not carried the state in a presidential election in over a half century, and New Hampshire, which the Democrats have carried in five straight White House contests. However, Walter said that « Harris has been able to reconstitute and energize the Democratic coalition…taking states like Minnesota and New Hampshire out of reach for the Trump campaign. »Get the latest updates from the 2024 campaign trail, exclusive interviews and more at our Fox News Digital election hub.
