[ad_1]

Just over 19 months have passed since seven-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady announced he was retiring from the NFL « for good. »This afternoon, the NFL legend will make his long-awaited broadcast debut when he joins lead play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt in the FOX booth for « America’s Game of the Week. » The Cleveland Browns host the Dallas Cowboys for the nationally televised Week 1 game. FOX Sports sideline reporter Erin Andrews and reporter and feature contributor Tom Rinaldi will also join Burkhardt and Brady on the weekly NFL broadcasts.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMIn 2022, Fox Corporation CEO Lachlan Murdoch made the announcement during a company earnings call that the seven-time Super Bowl champion would be joining the sports network’s top announcing team at some point following the conclusion of his illustrious football career. Brady was a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the time. »It will be a stellar and exciting television career, » Murdoch said in 2022, « but that’s up to him to make that choice when he sees fit. »TOM BRADY HAS ABILITY TO DO 1 THING TO SEPARATE HIMSELF FROM OTHER BROADCASTERS, EX-NFL STAR SAYSBrady decided to delay his foray into the broadcast booth by a year, but eventually committed to starting the second act of his career in 2024. The New England Patriots legend has mentioned the next step in his career over the past several months during various interviews and speaking engagements.Brady spoke with FOX Sports from the broadcast booth inside Cleveland Browns home stadium on Saturday as his alma mater, Michigan, regrouped in the locker at halftime of a game against Texas. »Obviously super excited, there’s little anxiety, » Brady responded when asked about his emotions ahead of his debut. « There’s been a lot of preparation that’s gone into from a lot of people and it’s been a couple years journey. But, I think the thing that’s most exciting to me is I get to get back to NFL football. Being up here in the booth, I’ve got the best partner in Kevin and Erin down on the field with Tom Rin… We’ve got a great group. There’s so many talented people that I get to work with, I get to be a part of a great team. And I get to cover a sport I absolutely love. »Brady developed a reputation for being meticulous in his preparation leading up to games, and his commitment has seemed to carry over to his television career. The Athletic reported that Brady sat in an NBC production truck during a Miami Dolphins game. Burkhart has participated in mock games with Brady. The legendary quarterback admitted that he offered his apologies to Burkhardt when he made mistakes during the practice games. However, Brady said the experienced play-by-play man did reassure him. »I want to get up every day and try to prove to them, ‘Hey guys, I know I’m the rookie, but I’ve got your back, too,’ » Brady told « FOX NFL Sunday » host Curt Menefee.  Brady has openly shared his thoughts for the past few years on his « Let’s Go! » podcast.Last year he spoke to the state of the NFL on the podcast, saying « I think there’s a lot of mediocrity in today’s NFL, » Brady said.Shortly before he was inducted into the Patriots’ hall of fame, he told Yahoo! Sports that « quarterbacking has gone backwards a little bit in the NFL. » He pointed the finger at coaching in the league and in the college football ranks. But, during a sitdown with Stephen A. Smith last month, Brady cautioned that he hopes to avoid being overly critical of quarterbacks when he is in the broadcast booth. »That was horrible, » was an example of a phrase Brady said he might have an inclination to say into the microphone, but he acknowledged, « I just can’t say that on TV. »He co-hosted the « Let’s Go! » podcast alongside veteran sports reporter Jim Gray and retired wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald. Bill Belichick was recently announced as Brady’s replacement for the podcast as the football great focuses on his new role with FOX. The Cowboys and Browns kickoff at 4:25 p.m. Eastern on FOX.Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Harris visits spice shop known for hating and slamming Republicans, calls for end of ‘divisiveness’

[ad_1]

Kamala Harris made a campaign stop on Saturday at a spice shop known to openly discriminate against Republicans while calling for an end to political « divison. »

The spice shop, Penzeys Spices in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, welcomed the Democrat nominee to browse the store and meet some supporters.

While facing a gaggle of reporters, Harris claimed, « It’s time to turn the page on the divisiveness. It’s time to bring our country together, chart a new way forward. »

HARRIS WILL HAVE TO ‘FACE OFF’ AGAINST BIDEN, HIS LEGACY IN DEBATE AGAINST TRUMP: NYT COLUMNIST

« A lot of what I think is happening, and I was just talking with some folks here in Pittsburgh about it, is that people are exhausted about the division and the attempts to kind of divide us as Americans, » said Harris. « And, them stepping up to make this public statement, I think is, courageous. »

« But also for people like the folks I was just talking with, it really reinforces for them that we love our country, and we have more in common than what separates us, » asserted Harris in the spice shop.Penzeys Spices has an entire « About Republicans » page on their website with a staggering 842-word essay bashing the political party.

For contrast, the « About Us » page on the Penzeys website features only 461 words, including « We are trying to make the world a better place. »

HARRIS FLIPS ON ANOTHER POLICY POSITION: BANNING PLASTIC STRAWS

Part of the « About Republicans » page on their site, penned by CEO Bill Penzey, informs Republicans they can shop elsewhere: « Going forward we would still be glad to have you as customers, but we’re done pretending the Republican Party’s embrace of cruelty, racism, Covid lies, climate change denial, and threats to democracy are anything other than the risks they legitimately are. »

« If you need us to pretend you are not creating the hurt you are creating in order for you to continue to be our customer, I’m sad to say you might be happier elsewhere, » reads the Penzeys Spices website.Penzeys recently launched an advertisement campaign for their « Justice » spice blend directed at former President Donald Trump, saying « Re-Indicted and it Feels So Good! »

« Sorry Kamala, ‘Scary Spice’ is already taken! » said Former President Trump’s campaign in response to Kamala’s visit.Penzeys Spices CEO Bill Penzey is no stranger to controversy. In 2022, he came under fire for renaming Martin Luther King Jr. Day to « Republicans Are Racist Weekend! »

Is this guy OK?’ They told me, they said, ‘Oh yes, it’s okay.’ I even asked the security guard, and he said, ‘yes, it’s okay.' »Shortly after Vella entered his car, he started talking to himself before beating his chest and, at one point, slid over in the backseat to the seat behind Ayoola. Caitlin Clark struggles to ‘control emotions’ after taking hits, not getting fouls called

[ad_1]

Caitlin Clark didn’t get the foul calls she was looking for during the Indiana Fevers’ 99-88 loss to the Minnesota Linx on Friday. After the game, Clark referred to instances in which she was hit by opposing players but refs didn’t blow the whistle. Clark said those moments had an emotional impact on her that she hopes to control better. « I thought I got fouled a couple times there in the second half on mid-range jump shots, » Clark said. « It happens. Sometimes they get calls, sometimes they don’t. It is what it is. I think I settled a little bit too much for mid-ranee jump shots, but I thought I got bumped a little bit, and I was honestly trying to shot-fake them to get them to foul me. »I mean, I think I could have done a little bit better of a job controlling my own emotions. »CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMBut Clark added that she doesn’t believe her emotions need to change. « I think there’s a line and sometimes your passion, your emotion can get to you, » Clark said. « But that’s never something I would ever change or anybody on our team would change. »At one point in the game during the third quarter, Clark got knocked to the floor by Minnesota’s Napheesa Collier. Collier’s arms appeared to hit Clark in the upper head and shoulder area when Clark tried to score in the paint. The officials did not call a foul on Collier, and Clark lay on the floor with her arms spread out to her sides. Clark didn’t have any urgency in getting back up, and the Lynx made it down the court on a fast break and scored. That score put the Fever in a 10-point hole that they never dug out of. Clark’s coach, Christie Sides, addressed the incident after the game, too. « When she’s upset or mad — that’s what we’ve been working on, trying to figure out how to get past those moments, » Sides said. « She’s got to learn that, in those moments, I need my point guard to have a cool head, get us in whatever we need to be in offensively, and if it’s not a foul call that you thought, you have to get back. » »There’s a reaction to all of our actions, and we have to make sure we don’t put ourselves in a worse spot with those kind of moments. »Clark has had to manage her emotions quickly since coming to the WNBA with regard to hard fouls. Last week, Chicago Sky player Diamond DeShields sent Clark flying across the floor for a foul that was later upgraded to flagrant-1. After the game, DeShields posted a screenshot of her notifications list on Instagram, which included a string of hate comments from a user.Clark took an infamous illegal hip check from Chicago Sky forward Chennedy Carter on June 1. Carter refused to answer questions about the incident at the postgame press conference but used her social media to repeatedly criticize Clark.Sky rookie Angel Reese struck Clark in the head with her arm while trying to block a pass during a game on June 16. Former NBA All-Star Joakim Noah believes the Fever should look to address the issue by signing a player who can dish the punishment back against opponents who are too physical with Clark.WNBA ICON SHERYL SWOOPES EXPLAINS FALSE CAITLIN CLARK STATEMENTS, SPEAKS OUT AGAINST EX-FRIEND NANCY LIEBERMAN »If I was the owner of the Indiana Fever, I would get a real enforcer in there to protect her, » Noah told Fox News Digital during an interview at « NBA Night » in the Emirates Suite at the U.S. Open in New York on Wednesday. Noah acknowledged that Clark may be getting hit by opposing players because they are aware of the talent she brings as a difference-maker on the court. « Sometimes I feel like she is getting hit because she is a very talented person, » he said. « But at the end of the day, we’re in the business of winning games, so if I’m the owner [of the Indiana Fever], I’m getting a real enforcer in there. » However, Noah believes that the physical treatment Clark has received has been great for the WNBA. « I think it’s great, » Noah said when specifically asked about the fouls that have occurred against Chicago. « I think it’s all entertainment. » ESPN broadcaster Holly Rowe issued a similar sentiment to Noah’s in an interview with Fox News Digital last month. « I think it’s good for the game, » Rowe said. « I kind of love it because it is supposed to be salty, that’s why it’s competitive, that’s why it’s sports. »Basketball Hall of Famer Charles Barkley spoke out against the players who have undermined the positive attention Clark’s rookie season has brought to the WNBA this year during an appearance on the « Bill Simmons Podcast » on Wednesday. « These ladies, and I’m a WNBA fan, they could not have f—ed this Caitlin Clark thing up even worse if they tried, » Barkley said on the show. « This girl is incredible, » Barkley said. « The number of attention, eyeballs, she’s brought to college and the pros, and for these women to have this petty jealousness, and you’re saying to yourself, ‘Damn, what is going on here?' »Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Texas police department to introduce autonomous drone pilot program: ‘An eye in the sky’

[ad_1]

A police department in Texas may soon be using drones to respond to emergency calls, according to Police Chief Brian Jones.

The Bee Cave Police Department offered a demonstration of their autonomous drone system on Friday morning, known as « AV8. »

The demonstration was part of a pilot project to test the AV8, which also consists of a computer system to keep drones on-target. Both are built by eve Vehicles, which is a start-up based in Austin.

GREEN DAY RUSHED OFFSTAGE DURING CONCERT DUE TO UNAUTHORIZED DRONE: POLICE

« Well, it’s a force multiplier for us, really, because it serves as an eye in the sky and gives us real-time information before an officer even arrives at the location, » said Bee Cave Chief of Police Brian Jones to FOX 7 Austin. »We’ve gone through several generations, » said eve Vehicles co-founder and CEO Roger Pecina to FOX 7 Austin. « We’ve been working on this specific concept for about two years. »Batteries for the drones, which are stored onboard, offer around 40 minutes’ flight time. »And when that drone’s battery is running low, it’ll actually call another drone in the network. They’ll come and replace it, » said Pecina to FOX 7 Austin. « And then this one goes to the closest nest to recharge its battery. »Routes for the drones are pre-programmed along local roads and highways to reach dispatch locations for emergency calls in the pilot program. »So, the idea is that once they have the address, they do plug it into AV8 that does all of the calculation to see which drone is close to that call and autonomously leaves, and it goes to the scene without a pilot. It arrives when it’s on scene that’s when the pilot takes control and can move the drone around to get like better views of exactly what’s being developed, » said Pecina to FOX 7 Austin.

RESCUE DRONE HITS BEACHES DESIGNED TO SAVE LIVES AS A FLYING LIFEBUOYFrom there, video is transmitted directly from the drone back to dispatch, where feed is sent to Bee Cave Police patrol cars and smartphones in real-time.

The AV8 system’s first deployment may take place as soon as next week on limited emergency calls in Bee Cave, which is a suburb of Austin. However, the entire system is not expected to deploy for another month or two.

A future plan is already in the works with eve Vehicles to create a night vision option for the AV8 drones as well as a parachute safety system. The drones are launched from « Nests, » which are open-air platforms.Three launch sites, including two local schools, were chosen for the Bee Cave AV8 pilot program. The schools were selected before last Wednesday’s mass shooting at Georgia’s Apalachee High School. »Say, for instance, the example that you use the school shooter in Georgia, heaven forbid, something like that, were to happen here, » said Police Chief Brian Jones to FOX 7 Austin. « And we had the capabilities, this drone technology capability, we would have that information before the officers even arrive at the scene, so we can better prepare to engage a suspect. »

« We could possibly know their location before the officers arrive, and we could better respond to that situation and possibly save lives, » said Chief Jones to FOX 7 Austin. There is no official start date for the Bee Cave AV8 pilot program.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP

The Bee Cave Police Department did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

City in Florida providing $1M in opioid settlement money to nonprofits fighting opioid epidemic

The city of St. Petersburg, Florida, is allocating $1 million from an opioid settlement to nonprofit organizations working to address the opioid crisis through treatment and recovery support services. As part of the settlement, St. Petersburg will receive $6 million over 18 years. The city is looking to fill resource or service gaps in the community and plans to use the money to offer grants for new and innovative proposals that are not already being funded by existing sources, the city said in a news release.FLORIDA TRANSIT AGENCY INCREASING ACCESSIBILITY OF NARCAN TO HELP REVERSE OPIOID OVERDOSESGrants will be awarded to proposals that offer respite housing, overdose prevention, substance use prevention and education, harm reduction and peer support, with priority given to proposals that focus on respite housing, harm reduction and peer support. »There’s never enough help for addiction as rates continue to increase, » Matthew Schaefer, the director of operations for Real Recovery Solutions, told Fox 13.Real Recovery Solutions, which runs sober living facilities in Pinellas County and around the Tampa Bay region, is not eligible for the grant money but does work with non-profits that can use the funds to sponsor someone, the outlet reported.OREGON REVERSES COURSE AND RECRIMINALIZES DRUG POSSESSION »[Non-profits] will fund maybe two to three weeks of sober living. And give that recovering addict a chance to go find a job and start paying their own rent, » Schaefer said. One of the biggest needs in the region, according to Schaefer, is making detox treatment more accessible and affordable. Many detox centers are privately funded and require full payment or insurance, but others have long wait lists to get a bed. »[Addicts] are told, ‘hey, you know, we’re three to five days out from a bed.’ There’s a lack of resources for our underfunded or noninsured community. I think that that could be a big help. 49 days: Kamala Harris has yet to do formal press conference since emerging as Democratic nominee

[ad_1]

Vice President Kamala Harris has gone 49 days as the presumptive, and now, official Democratic nominee for president without holding an official press conference.Under pressure to sit down for a substantive interview after weeks of stonewalling, Harris finally ended her interview drought last month when she was joined by running mate Tim Walz for a pre-taped piece with CNN’s Dana Bash last Thursday in Georgia that was a far cry from a traditional press conference. »She should absolutely hold regular press conferences. Americans have the right and need to know what her policy stances are, » conservative influencer Tim Young told Fox News Digital. « Anyone who wants to lead the free world should be able to handle questions from the press, » Young continued. « If Kamala can’t handle real questions from the press, she absolutely can’t handle negotiations with foreign leaders. »HARRIS CAMPAIGN AGREES TO ABC PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE RULES WITH SOME ‘ASSURANCES:’ REPORTDuring the CNN interview, Harris defended some of her noted policy flip-flops on issues like fracking and immigration, saying her « values » hadn’t changed. She was also pressed on whether she had regrets about defending President Biden’s mental acuity after his debate, given he dropped out of the race less than a month later. She also said she wanted to « turn the page on the last decade of what I believe has been contrary to where the spirit of our country really lies. »Bash pointed out Harris had been vice president for three-and-a-half of those years, but Harris countered she meant moving on from this « era, » seemingly referring to the political rise of Donald Trump that began in 2015.Harris also sat for two taped radio interviews last week, one of which has yet to air.HARRIS CLAIMS SHE ‘MADE CLEAR’ HER POSITION ON FRACKING IN 2020 – TRANSCRIPT SHOWS ANOTHER STORYAs to when she’ll actually do a formal press conference, that day may never come, at least while she’s still a candidate. »You will not see one press conference from her in the next 75 days until Election Day, » Fox News contributor Joe Concha predicted earlier last month.Conservative Radio Libre host Jorge Bonilla feels Harris should do a press conference but said it’s almost « irrelevant » because she continues to get a pass. « She is highly unlikely to do a press conference because the media have enabled and encouraged her ‘plexiglass basement’ strategy, wherein she preserves the illusion of being out there while remaining wholly inaccessible to the press and therefore unaccountable, » Bonilla told Fox News Digital.NewsBusters managing editor Curtis Houck feels the vice president « obviously owes it to the American people to hold free-wheeling press conferences where reporters can, unlike what happened [Thursday] with CNN’s Dana Bash, ask follow-up questions. » »For every softball from, say, ABC or NPR, you’ll hope a liberal journalist will show some courage to do the right thing, » Houck told Fox News Digital. « The interview itself had a positive atmosphere. From the get-go in the hype video-like opening by Bash, CNN put forward a perception that this was an event, not a grinding fact-finding mission, » Houck continued. « She missed a litany of topics with Harris. Allowing death row inmates to vote, closing ICE, defunding the police, ending private insurance, girl’s sports, the filibuster, Jussie Smollett, the Minneapolis bail fund, systemic racism… those were just a few of the areas she could have touched on. »Former President Trump has sought to highlight the contrast in media availability between the two, sitting for several lengthy interviews in recent weeks and also holding a pair of press conferences.Harris received mixed reviews for her showing with Bash, where she took the majority of the questions but nevertheless had Walz there for support.HUCKABEE SANDERS BLASTS HARRIS FOR DOING JOINT INTERVIEW WITH WALZ: CAN’T DO IT ‘BY HERSELF’ »My fear is, because Bash wasn’t like, say, CBS’s Steve Kroft or NPR’s Steve Inskeep salivating at the sight of Barack Obama, the liberal media will claim this and the upcoming ABC debate are sufficient interview time for the campaign, » Houck said.Fox News Digital’s Paul Steinhauser contributed to this report.

Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese announced on X that her season is over due to an injury on Saturday night after being declared questionable for the team’s upcoming game against the Dallas Wings. « I’m filled with emotions right now that I have a season-ending injury, but also filled with so much gratitude for what is next. Although this is God’s timing and not mine, I am finally able to give myself a physical and mental break. ‘God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers,’ » Reese wrote. Reese finishes her rookie year with an unprecedented number of rebounds. In just her first year, without even finishing the full season, Reese broke the record for most rebounds in a single WNBA season and the record for most rebounds per game with 13.1.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMReese broke the single-season record in the Sky’s 79-74 loss at Minnesota on Sept. 1, when she surpassed Sylvia Fowles’ record of 404 set in 2018. Fowles beat the record by one just a year after Jonquel Jones recorded 403. Reese accomplished the feat in just 23 games.Reese was considered the biggest challenger to fellow rookie star Caitlin Clark for the WNBA’s Rookie of the Year award. Former NBA All-Star Joakim Noah even told Fox News Digital he would vote for Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese over Clark for Rookie of the Year if he had a say. »When I look at her play, she reminds me a lot of myself, » Noah said.Clark has put up the better averages in terms of points, assists, steals, blocks and every major shooting percentage category. Clark broke the Fever’s single-season record for assists in a loss to Minnesota on Friday. But Reese did have a drastic advantage in terms of rebounds. With 13.1 rebounds per game, Reese more than doubled Clark’s current 5.8 per game.In head-to-head matchups this year, the Fever have beaten the Sky three out of four times. Reese expressed tremendous respect for Clark and that they have no ill-will toward each other despite a heated rivalry that dates back to their college careers, when Clark was at Iowa and Reese was at LSU. However, Reese spoke out against Clark’s passionate fans and claimed they have harassed her. « I think it’s really just the fans, her fans, the Iowa fans, now the Indiana fans, that are really just, they ride for her, and I respect that, respectfully. But sometimes it’s very disrespectful. I think there’s a lot of racism when it comes to it, » Reese said. Reese went on to list death threats and people coming right to her home as an alleged example of a measure Clark’s fans have taken in response to their rivalry. »People have come down to my address, followed me home, it’s come down to that, » Reese said.Reese even alleges that some fans have made AI-generated images of her, depicting her without clothes on, and sent them to her family members. »Multiple occasions, people have made AI-images of me naked. They have sent it to my family members. My family members are like uncles, sending it to me like, ‘Are you naked on Instagram?’ » Reese said. « It sucks having to go through that and see other players have to go through that. »After Clark was drafted with the first pick in the WNBA Draft this past year by the Indiana Fever, Reese was selected seventh overall by Chicago. DNC fly anti-Trump banners over college football games in key swing states as Harris slips in polls

[ad_1]

The Democratic National Committee flew four planes carrying banners with anti-Trump messaging over college football games in four major swing states in the upcoming election on Saturday, it announced.  The four stadiums set to see the banners are Michigan Stadium at the University of Michigan, Sanford Stadium at the University of Georgia, Beaver Stadium at Pennsylvania State University and Camp Randall Stadium at the University of Wisconsin. Photographs on social media show the DNC made good on its promise in Pennsylvania. The planes flying over Michigan and Penn State seek to tie Trump and running mate JD Vance to the far-right manifesto Project 2025, created by the Heritage Foundation. Trump has disavowed Project 2025 multiple times and says he has no intention of implementing its full policy list if he does win the election. However, figures who worked in Trump’s first administration contributed to the project. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMOne of the banners also aims to exploit one of the most historic rivalries in college football. The plane set to fly over Michigan will fly a banner that reads, « J.D. Vance [loves] Ohio State [plus] Project 2025. » Michigan and Ohio State are considered to boast the fiercest rivalry in the sport, and Vance spent much of his childhood in Ohio, went to Ohio State for undergrad and claims to be a life-long Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Vance previously revealed that he had told Trump that his loyalty to the Buckeyes could impact the former president’s chances in Michigan this November when Trump was selecting Vance as his running mate. »When he first asked me to be a VP I was like, well, you know, hopefully we don’t lose Michigan by like 900 votes, because you’re going to regret it. ‘Cause it’s probably just a thousand p—d-off Wolverine fans who wouldn’t vote for a Buckeye. But I think that most Michiganders are going to be able to put sports rivalries aside and put the country first, which is what, of course, all of us believe is the most important thing, » Vance said during an appearance on OutKick’s « The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show. » The Democrats’ latest campaign gimmick comes just three days before the first presidential debate between Trump and Harris on ABC News, as Harris has fallen steeply in some polls over the last few weeks, especially in key battleground states. STEPH CURRY SAYS ABORTION IS TOP ISSUE FOR SUPPORTING HARRIS DESPITE PAST NEUTRAL STANCEtNate Silver of 538’s latest projection on Friday showed Trump gaining ground on Harris in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Georgia.Silver released his latest election forecast, writing on his Substack, « The forecast is still in toss-up range, but Trump’s chances of winning are his highest since July 30, » Silver wrote. Silver’s model shows Trump’s chances of winning the Electoral College have increased from 52.4% to 58.2% since last Thursday. Harris’ odds, meanwhile, have decreased from 47.3% to 41.6%.The current odds on Polymarket show Trump with a 50% chance of winning in November, while Harris holds just a 48% chance. A recent series of Fox News statewide surveys in Arizona, Georgia, Nevada and North Carolina showed Harris up by 1 percentage point in Arizona and by 2 points in Georgia and Nevada, while Trump is ahead by 1 point in North Carolina. All are within the margin of sampling error. Trump is spending his Saturday making an in-person appearance for a rally in Mosinee, Wisconsin, about two hours away, where the Wisconsin Badgers will play South Dakota on Saturday. Meanwhile, Harris made a visit to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which is about two hours away from Penn State’s game against Bowling Green. Harris welcomed the endorsement of former Vice President Dick Cheney and former Rep. Liz Cheney while visiting a spice shop called Penzeys Spices. If Trump’s positive polling trends play out, and the DNC’s aerial campaign strategy doesn’t work out, Vance has proposed that he and Trump make a visit themselves to Ohio Stadium at Ohio State for the Buckeyes’ upcoming game against Michigan on November 30. « Well, let’s go to the Ohio State-Michigan game, assuming we win, because I bet I can get some pretty sweet tickets as the VP-elect, and we’ll be in a celebratory mood, » Vance said on OutKick. « And look, it’s, it’s going to be a big game this year. I think it’s going to determine ultimate seeding in the College Football Playoff. I mean, how both teams might actually make the playoff. I know Michigan’s, you know, sort of people aren’t putting them as high this year, but you never know, because it’s always a good program. So, we’ll see, guys. I’m feeling very good about the Buckeyes. I’m feeling very good about the Bengals. »Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Russiagate story ‘will not die,’ journalist Matt Taibbi says: ‘How much meat is on the bone?’

[ad_1]

The Justice Department is again accusing Russia of attempting to interfere with U.S. elections.  « This Russiagate story will not die, » investigative journalist Matt Taibbi said on « The Story, » Thursday. « This story just won’t go away. It reminds me of the ‘Friday the 13th’ movies. No matter how many times they killed Jason, he keeps leaping out of Crystal Lake in each sequel. And this is the same thing. »REPUBLICANS ‘SKEPTICAL’ OF DOJ MOVE TO BLOCK RUSSIAN ELECTION INTERFERENCEThe Biden administration on Wednesday accused Russia of trying to influence the 2024 U.S. presidential election by targeting American voters through state-run media and other online platforms as part of a campaign referred to as « doppelganger. » »There is a criminal case here. It remains to be seen exactly how much meat there is on the bone in the actual case, » Taibbi said. « What Merrick Garland said in the press conference is not the same as what all those commentators you showed said. He said that what this content was supporting was consistent with Russia’s interest in amplifying U.S. domestic divisions. That’s not the same as saying that they were trying to promote Donald Trump. And when you get down into the nitty-gritty of this story, it’s very confusing, actually, as to what really happened and who was supporting whom. »The DOJ on Wednesday announced it is seizing 32 websites it says were linked to the Russian government and used to spread disinformation. The Justice, State and Treasury departments also indicted a pair of employees at Russian state-controlled outlet RT. The indictment claimed that RT, in a $10 million scheme, had duped US-based influencers into sharing content « deemed favorable to the Russian government » through a Tennessee-based company believed to be Tenet Media. The DOJ accused RT of « conspiring to commit money laundering and to violate the Foreign Agents Registration Act. »CONSERVATIVE INFLUENCERS LINKED TO COMPANY IN RUSSIAN ELECTION INFLUENCE CASE SPEAK OUT, SAY THEY’RE VICTIMS »We’ve seen so many iterations of this same theme, and every time it turns out to be less than meets the eye or a hoax like I discovered with the Hamilton 68 site in the Twitter files or the Steele dossier, » Taibbi said, referring back to allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 election. RT was asked about the allegations and previously told Fox News Digital, « We certainly have a reaction. Actually, we had several, but we couldn’t decide on one (we even thought of running an office poll), so here they are. » « 2016 called and it wants its clichés back, » was among them, as were: « Three things are certain in life: death, taxes and RT’s interference in the U.S. elections, » « We gotta earn our Kremlin paycheck somehow, » and « Somewhere Secretary Clinton is sad that it’s not because of her. » Asked by Fox News’ David Spunt how Garland would assure the American people of the seriousness of the situation, the attorney general said: « I’m sure [RT’s response] was much funnier in the original Russia, but for us it’s not funny. » « This is deadly serious, and we are going to treat it accordingly, » Garland said. Spunt asked Wray what he would say to other U.S. adversaries who try to interfere in U.S. elections. »Knock it off, » Wray said. « As long as adversaries keep trying to influence and interfere in our society, and our democratic processes, they’re going to keep running into the FBI. » CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPGiven the parallels to the 2016 election, many Republicans are skeptical of the DOJ’s move to block Russian interference. « The utility of this story as a propaganda vehicle is entirely…aimed at Donald Trump squarely, » Talibbi said, echoing concerns of top lawmakers and experts. « This story would not be in the news. You wouldn’t have every network covering it. You wouldn’t have Joe Scarborough doing rants about it if it didn’t have a Donald Trump angle to it. And this has been true since the very first time they unveiled the story way back in 2016. »Fox News’ Morgan Phillips, Greg Norman, Bradford Betz and David Spunt contributed to this report.

Key Bolsonaro lieutenant blasts Biden for silence on Brazil’s X ban: US has ‘responsibility’ to speak up

[ad_1]

A foreign minister who served under former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro called on the Biden administration to condemn his country’s ban on social media platform X, saying the U.S. has a ‘responsibility’ to speak up. Ernesto Araújo, who served as foreign minister under Bolsonaro from 2019 to 2021, said the U.S. has a ‘responsibility to be the reference point for democracy, for rule of law, for freedom in the hemisphere.’ But the White House has been silent for too long, he said, and it’s hesitation to advocate for free speech predates the ban on X, he said. »The Biden administration is not living up to that – have not lived up to that for a long time – and about what is happening in Brazil, because the banning of X is not something out of the blue, » Araújo told Fox News Digital. « It’s one more step, after many steps, of curtailing basic rights and destroying the rule of law, destroying democracy in Brazil, something perpetrated by the Supreme Court, by a good portion of the political class, and the administration never did anything. »ELON MUSK GETS SURPRISING DEFENDER AFTER X WAS BANNED IN BRAZIL: THE WASHINGTON POSTBrazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes last week banned X after the company failed to appoint a legal representative in the country, leading to the « immediate, complete and total suspension of X’s operations » in Brazil. The ban will remain in place « until all court orders . . . are complied with, fines are duly paid and a new legal representative for the company is appointed in the country, » according to The Guardian. X, under outspoken owner Elon Musk, has refused to comply following Moraes’s order to ban several accounts related to individuals involved in an alleged attempted coup last year. The powerful judge alleged that these accounts have spread misinformation and represent a threat. NFL DEBUT IN BRAZIL MARRED BY CONCERNS OVER SAFETY, STREAMING, SOCIAL MEDIA BAN AND THE COLOR GREENMusk accused the judge, an ally of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, of attacking free speech and said the order violates the Brazilian constitution. He further alleged in a post on X that the judge had targeted his platform « for political reasons. » The White House has remained silent on the issue, and it declined a Fox News Digital request for comment. The U.S. State Department has also not issued any comments regarding the decision. « I think the U.S. has this kind of international responsibility in the world – in the hemisphere, for sure, » Araújo said. « It should be an ally of those who are trying to protect freedom and not those who are destroying freedom. » »So I see a lot of sympathy from the Biden administration, from the Democratic Party, for the wrong people in Latin America, » he added. « It’s not a question of right or left, it’s a question of those who just claim to be for democracy. » VENEZUELAN DICTATOR DEPLOYS BIZARRE DISTRACTION AS COUNTRY REMAINS IN TURMOIL AFTER ELECTIONThe order has not gone over well in Brazil, with the country heavily divided over the resulting ban. Many users have jumped ship to other platforms – mainly rivals Bluesky and Threads. The Brazilian user base for X is one-fifth and one-sixth that of Instagram and TikTok, respectively, but the platform has served as a major nexus for news agencies and political and thought leaders, giving it an outsized influence. Izabela Patriota, the director of development of the Ladies of Liberty Alliance and head of its Brazil section, told FOX Business that protests would materialize on Saturday, which coincides with Brazil’s Independence Day celebrations. While many Brazilians have found alternative social media outlets, former officials and allies of Bolsonaro argue that the ban sets the stage for further bans. Patriota fears that the courts could eventually take similar actions against the other platforms and services should the justices determine they also posed a threat. Musk also owns Starlink, a satellite internet service which has been targeted by de Moraes.ELON MUSK CALLS OUT VP HARRIS FOR OLD POST SAYING ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS AREN’T CRIMINALS »Where X is just another platform, and so many Brazilians are already migrating to different platforms, Starlink is providing access to many, many, many communities in the Amazon areas that they wouldn’t have without Starlink, » Patriota said. Araújo also worried about the international trajectory for his country, noting that Brazil has continued to build ties with « the territorial block of China, Russia, Iran. » « It’s basically, playing a game, » Araújo said. « Lula wants to play this game . . . he’s really, for everything that matters, is allying Brazil with the enemies of freedom, with the enemies of the United States. » »I think it’s in the hands of some people in the State Department or Democratic Party who think that Lula is their friend who also – I don’t know if it’s for specific interest or they’re just not smart enough to know what’s happening – who think that Lula is the good guy, and the Right is the bad guys in Brazil. » The White House did not respond to a Fox News Digital request for comment by time of publication.

Stefanik files ethics complaint against Trump trial judge alleging Harris campaign paid his daughter’s company

[ad_1]

Rep. Elise Stefanik has filed an ethics complaint against New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan « for his illegal conflict of interest in the sham Manhattan trial against President Trump, » alleging the Harris campaign has a « newly active financial relationship » with a company led in part by his daughter. The filing with the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct came on the same day that Merchan decided to postpone Trump’s sentencing in New York v. Trump until after the November presidential election.  Trump was found guilty in an unprecedented criminal trial on all 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree, following a six-week trial stemming from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s investigation.  However, Stefanik, R-N.Y., is now asking the Commission to launch a « fresh inquiry concerning Justice Merchan’s conflict and take any appropriate action resulting from it. » JUDGE MERCHAN DELAYS TRUMP SENTENCING UNTIL AFTER ELECTION « On August 20, 2024, Vice President Harris’s campaign submitted its first Federal Election Commission (FEC) report that documented expenses and donations through July 31, 2024. In the report… a July 30, 2024, disbursement appears in the amount of $468.00 from Vice President Harris’s campaign to Authentic Campaigns Inc. (Authentic) for web hosting services, » Stefanik wrote in her complaint. « This indicates that one of the very first things that Harris did upon taking over the Biden campaign infrastructure is to hire this firm, Authentic. « Authentic is a digital consulting and marketing firm that services Democrat candidates. Loren Merchan, Justice Merchan’s daughter, is its president, » Stefanik added. « Vice President Harris changed web hosting companies from AWS to Authentic immediately after becoming the presumptive Democrat presidential nominee. « This is merely the beginning of a new contract with a new campaign, regardless of the amount reimbursed. Sure, there’s an immediate benefit, but this is a play at a potential larger benefit for Authentic and Merchan down the road, » Stefanik said in her complaint. JUDGE MERCHAN SUED FOR FINANCIAL DISCLOSURES AMID CONCERNS OF DAUGHTER’S DEMOCRAT WORKStefanik continued by saying that the code of conduct « dictates that a judge must recuse from a case where a relative up to and including the sixth degree has a financial interest in the outcome of the case. » « Ms. Merchan is related to Justice Merchan in the first degree. Authentic has a newly active financial relationship with Vice President Harris’s campaign, » Stefanik concluded.  The Harris campaign and the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct did not immediately respond Saturday to a request for comment from Fox News Digital. Fox News’ Brooke Singman contributed to this report.

He would then pay visits to the local precinct heads — many of whom are also under federal investigation, according to the report. On Wednesday, the FBI raided the homes of both Cabans, First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright, Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Philip Banks III and former NYPD official Timothy Pearson, who now advises Mayor Eric Adams on public safety, and seized their electronic devices, the report added, noting that the officials were subpoenaed as part of a corruption investigation in connection with influence peddling.Last year, federal agents seized Adams’ devices as he was leaving an event in Manhattan and raided the home of one of his top fundraisers. Adams has denied any wrongdoing, but confirmed last month he had received a subpoena from federal prosecutors and said he and his team are cooperating. As part of the investigation into James Caban, investigators are looking at police reports involving Manhattan bars and restaurants, as well as emails from NYPD officials, to determine if the complaints were handled correctly, according to the report.Caban’s alleged involvement with the establishments reportedly began as recently as when his brother was the first deputy commissioner under then-NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell, who resigned in July 2023.NYC MAYOR ERIC ADAMS HIT WITH FIRST SUBPOENA OVER 2021 CAMPAIGN FINANCES: REPORTThe report noted that he was allegedly offering his services to officers working at concerts in Manhattan, touting his influence in the police department with his brother slated to take over as the police commissioner.James Caban joined the NYPD in 1989 before a number of complaints and allegations eventually led to his departure in January 2001, according to public records. He faces substantiated charges over allegations he used excessive force and abused his authority on two separate occasions, in 1996.But he still moved up to the rank of sergeant before being booted from the force in 2001 for wrongfully detaining and threatening a cab driver who he suspected of taking money from his wife’s purse, City & State New York reported.Caban later purchased an apartment building in the Bronx before he was put on a list of the city’s worst landlords in August 2013, according to the outlet.A couple of months later, he found himself in jail for 30 days for failing to make hundreds of necessary repairs to his building on Commonwealth Avenue, The Real Deal reported. The housing court judge said at the time that Caban had ignored every request by the city to fix more than 300 open property violations and that the city had already spent $115,000 to fix other emergency issues.Caban claimed that he did not have the money to repair the building, according to the New York Daily News.Fox News Digital has reached out to Edward Caban, Eric Adams’ office, TAO Hospitality Group and Creatures at Selina Rooftop in Chelsea, but has not yet heard back.In a statement, a DCPI spokesperson told Fox News Digital, « The Department is aware of an investigation by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York involving members of service. The Department is fully cooperating in the investigation. »

Trump or Harris? Israelis discuss presidential choice as war with Hamas, other terror groups continues

[ad_1]

Israel’s multi-front wars against Hamas and Hezbollah and fears of a wider Middle East war with Iran have made support for the Jewish state an important issue in November’s presidential election.Fox News Digital recently interviewed Israelis in the capital city of Jerusalem to see who they thought would be the better candidate in November’s election – former President Donald Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris. »He [Trump] has been president for four years and was an excellent president — the only president of America who brought us somewhat closer to solving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, » Mordechai told Fox News Digital from the heart of Israel’s capital city.NETANYAHU REPORTEDLY UPSET WITH HARRIS OVER VP’S ISRAEL REMARKS AS WHITE HOUSE PUSHES BACKMoti Stein, a professor at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, told Fox News Digital that Vice President Kamala Harris « is very good for Israel. »He said she was « representing and maybe delivering values that are extremely important for the future of the Israeli society. »The issue of concern for those interviewed who view the Democratic nominee as the best choice for Israel’s future is the continuation of democracy in the Jewish state.’UNCOMMITTED’ MICHIGAN VOTERS UNMOVED BY GAZA PORTION OF HARRIS’ DNC SPEECH: ‘GOING TO PUT TRUMP IN OFFICE’Jerusalem resident John Golub, who, like Stern, was at a protest against Prime Minister Netanyahu near the country’s parliament, believes Harris is the best choice for Israelis. « Kamala Harris is committed to democracy, and I think she is the candidate of the two who will help Israel realize its future as a strong liberal, democratic democracy with a strong, independent judiciary that we need. »Other Israelis were fearful of what a Harris administration might look like for Israel. Baruch Kalman told Fox News Digital that she’s not the right « candidate to help Israel, » complaining that he felt she is « concerned more about the Gazans and Hamas than she is about Israel. » »Of the two candidates, Trump is the better candidate, » Kalman said. « He’s already shown his support for Israel, and he’s still supporting Israel, and he keeps his word, what he says, he does. »Anna Gullko said that her support for Trump is due in part to his values that help form his policies. « I think his policy will be based on biblical values, what God demands of man. »Zvika Klein, editor-in-chief of the Jerusalem Post, one of Israel’s most read English language newspapers, recently penned an opinion piece stating why he felt that Harris was the wrong choice for Israel.TRUMP ‘PROBABLY WINS’ IF ELECTION IS ABOUT POLICY, CNN HOST SAYS »Kamala Harris as president, I think, is something that should worry Jews and Israelis for a number of reasons, » Klein said.Klein believes that there is generally a large amount of respect from the Middle East for world leaders who display strength on the global stage – something that he says Harris is lacking. In contrast, he said the former president has demonstrated his support for Israel. Klein said that Trump’s track record in realizing the Abraham Accords and moving the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem exemplify Trump’s willingness to work with Israel.Klein cautioned that a future Trump administration will need to have skilled people who understand the region as he had during his first administration. »The question really would be if he’s going to … actually bring back, or work with the same kind of close team he had, » Klein said. « Whether with his son-in-law Jared Kushner or David Friedman, who was the ambassador to Israel. Many people who are super knowledgeable about Israel and about the region. If those types of people actually continue to be close to the president and actually are able to affect him, that’s a good thing. And in general, the Republican Party is just so pro-Israel. »There are up to 600,000 American citizens who live temporarily or permanently in Israel, the Jerusalem Post reported, citing figures from the U.S. Embassy. It also noted that some half a million of those citizens could be eligible to vote in November’s election.
