Sydney Sweeney says paparazzi yelled at her family to force her out of home in a bikini

[ad_1]

Sydney Sweeney has been working her entire life to become a successful actress, but lately she’s discovered the darker side of fame, with the paparazzi increasingly obsessed with getting a shot of Hollywood’s « It » girl. The « Anyone But You » star told Glamour in a recent interview photographers showed up at her new Florida home while she was there with her family and yelled at them to force her to come out in a bikini for a photo.  « They said, ‘If you tell her to just come outside in a bikini, I’ll take pictures and then I’ll leave you alone,’ » the 27-year-old told Glamour. To make it even worse, Sweeney said people on social media suggested she called the paparazzi. SYDNEY SWEENEY WANTS TO ‘PUSH THE BOUNDARIES’ IN ACTING, DOESN’T LIKE TO REHEARSE »Why would I call the paparazzi to take pictures of me at my own house when my baby cousins and family are there and I’m in my backyard? Why would I ever want that? » she told the magazine. She added that she has photos of paparazzi in « kayaks hiding in bushes in the ocean. They got there at 8 a.m. and wouldn’t leave until 4 p.m. I should be able to be in my home and feel comfortable and safe. »And it’s not just the paparazzi. »When those photos go out, then my actual safety is at risk, » she said of paparazzi photos of her at home. « Everyone knows where I am. Now there’s boats that go by, and I literally hear them say, ‘This is Sydney Sweeney’s house.’ It becomes a star tour in my front yard. »Sweeney is notoriously private. Most of her friends are from her childhood, and she keeps her engagement with businessman Jonathan Davino so low-key that fans basically forgot about him when she and « Anyone But You » co-star Glen Powell were swept up in false dating rumors. « I have my family, and my cousins are my best friends, » Sweeney said. « I have my team and a handful of best friends. It’s very small. »She added that « most of them — actually, all of them — are not in the industry, » except for « Euphoria » co-star Maude Apatow. « It’s a very lonely industry, » she added. Elsewhere in the interview, Sweeney discussed the struggles she went through before she made it in the industry, including severe bullying at school, her parents losing « everything » while driving back and forth from her Eastern Washington/Northern Idaho home to LA to help her audition for roles as a teen and her parents’ divorce. « There was a moment where I stopped wanting to go home, which made me really sad because I felt like a failure, » she revealed. « I knew that I could never actually fail because, I mean, on a very broad scale, my family did lose everything. « They did get a divorce. Whether or not that was because of coming here, it definitely was a catalyst for it. So, I knew I had to succeed in some capacity so that it wasn’t for nothing. »And when it comes to the obsession with her body in the media, Sweeney says she’s trying to embrace it. She said it « means a lot to her » that fans have reached out to say that they feel more comfortable with their own bodies « because I really believe in empowering others and feeling powerful with your body and embracing your sexuality. » CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP »And if you have boobs, great. Flaunt them, » she added, joking that her grandparents claim she has the « best t— in Hollywood. »

Christine Brennan says WNBPA’s call for ban over Dijonai Carrington interview a ‘complete overreaction’

[ad_1]

USA Today national sports columnist Christine Brennan continued to defend her journalistic integrity this week after a scathing statement from the Women’s National Basketball Players Association (WNBPA) called for the veteran journalist’s credentials to essentially be revoked after an interview with Connecticut Sun guard Dijonai Carrington. Addressing the incident on the « Good Game with Sarah Spain » podcast, Brennan defended her line of questioning with Carrington during the opening round of the WNBA playoffs, when she asked Carrington if she had intended to hit Caitlin Clark in the eye during Game 1 of the Sun’s playoff series against the Indiana Fever. She also asked Carrington if she laughed about it later in the game despite the player saying she was not aware she had hit Clark in the eye. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM »You know what you do as a journalist? You ask the question, and you give them a chance to take it and run with it. And that’s exactly what was my intention, that’s exactly what I did, » Brennan said. She explained she asked the questions because the interaction had become national news and that those were the narratives being talked about on social media. Brennan said she wanted to give Carrington the space to address the situation. « You just give them a chance … give her a chance to answer the question because it was running rampant on the internet, » Brennan said. « It’s out there, so let’s ask the athlete so they can clear the air. »Brennan defended her approach, calling it « Journalism 101, » adding that she’s had to ask the tough questions many times before, including to several big-name male athletes. « I’m never going to shy away from asking any question of any athlete, and I’m happy to do it, » Brennan said.WNBPA ISSUES SCATHING STATEMENT ACCUSING USA TODAY COLUMNIST OF INTERVIEW ‘DESIGNED TO FUEL’ RACISMThe WNBPA responded with a statement claiming the line of questioning fueled « racist, homophobic and misogynistic vitriol » online. It even called for Brennan’s credentials to essentially be revoked. Brennan said she was « surprised » by the statement, and while she did not take it « lightly, » she said a call for her to be banned was an « overreaction. » »I thought it was a complete overreaction. I think many, many people in journalism thought the exact same thing as we’ve seen in columns and responses. And that’s fine, and I’m heartened by that. If people think it’s fine and I should be banned, that’s, of course — it’s a free country, they can say that. »Brennan agreed that while the climate of the WNBA may be different, she’s long been an advocate for women’s sports throughout her career. « You have someone here who has cared about this cause, the cause of women’s sports, the mistreatment in terms of lack of media coverage, the racism, sexism, misogyny, » she said. « If you don’t like me, fine. But I think it’s pretty important to look at the body of work here and, five or six columns about Caitlin Clark that people want to be upset about, go ahead and be upset about it. It’s a free country. « But, my goodness, you certainly are missing some of the things that I have worked my hardest on and put my soul into. »Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

By February 2020, a peace agreement was reached, ensuring no American soldier was killed in combat until the end of the Trump Administration. This agreement held strong because the Taliban understood President Trump’s resolve and U.S. forces were prepared to ensure their compliance, » the letter reads.VOTERS IN CRITICAL MICHIGAN COUNTY FOCUSED ON ECONOMY, CANDIDATE CHARACTER AS 2024 RACE TIGHTENS »The botched withdrawal from Afghanistan under the Biden-Harris Administration in 2021, led to the unnecessary deaths of thirteen brave American troops at Abbey Gate and left untold billions of dollars of high grade military equipment to the Taliban, making it the most well-armed terror organization in the world. »Additionally, 40 retired U.S. ambassadors, 75 retired senior military officers and several hundred officials from previous Republican administrations signed the letter, praising Trump’s diplomatic efforts on cease-fire agreements between Turkey and Kurdish fighters in Syria and the Abraham Accords. Veteran in subway vigilante case wasn’t told he killed madman threatening passengers during interrogation

[ad_1]

An NYPD detective testified in court Thursday that the New York veteran accused of manslaughter in connection with the death of an erratic man who barged onto a subway car and threatened passengers had not been told the man had died when he waived his Miranda rights and agreed to speak with detectives.Lawyers for Daniel Penny, a 25-year-old Marine Corps veteran, told Fox News Digital there is « overwhelming evidence that Danny was justified in the actions he took to protect the commuters on that train. » They are questioning whether police had probable cause to detain him and whether statements prosecutors plan to use against him at trial were properly obtained.Penny was charged after he appeared on cellphone video placing Jordan Neely, 30, in a chokehold as other passengers helped restrain him in May 2023. The defense called NYPD investigators to the stand Thursday to grill them about whether there was probable cause to arrest their client to begin with.KEY WITNESSES IN DANIEL PENNY, JORDAN NEELY CASE REFUSE TO COOPERATE WITH DA BRAGG’S OFFICE: REPORTPenny had not been told that Neely was dead during his questioning, NYPD Detective Michael Medina testified. He and a colleague let Penny go after interviewing other witnesses. They initially dubbed him a « good Samaritan. »Medina, a 23-year member of the NYPD, was the first of five officers involved in the investigation to testify Thursday. Penny was treated as a witness during the interview and was not placed in handcuffs, he said. Their conversation was recorded on video. Penny waived his Miranda rights. There was another detective, whose last name is McCarthy, in the room with them. Prosecutors played video from the interview in court Thursday. It shows Penny calmly cooperating with the detectives, explaining that he’s a Marine veteran and studying to be an architect. He said he was on his way to the gym after class at the time of the altercation. US MARINE VET DANIEL PENNY PLEADS NOT GUILTY TO MANSLAUGHTER IN CHOKEHOLD DEATH OF JORDAN NEELYAccording to testimony at the Thursday hearing, Neely barged onto the train after the 10th Street station, ripped his jacket off and threatened to « kill anybody, » he said. »He was acting like a lunatic, like a crazy person, » Penny told detectives. He said after Neely tossed his jacket, he shouted something along the lines of, « If I don’t get this, this and this, I’ll go to jail forever. »There were women and children on the train, and Penny perceived a threat. When Neely walked into him, he said, he put him in a chokehold. »I’m not trying to kill the guy, » he told detectives. « I’m just trying to de-escalate the situation. »He said that two other men on the train helped him hold Neely down as they waited for police to arrive. »People do this all the time, but this guy, he was actually a threat, » he told the officers. Medina and McCarthy told him he would be detained for the time being, and he asked for a lawyer.A public safety officer testified that when he arrived at the train, he saw Neely unconscious on the ground and asked what happened. The witnesses pointed to Penny, he said, identifying the defendant in the courtroom. He said witnesses told him that Neely boarded the train, began making threats, and Penny « took him out. » Bodycam video showed Penny remained at the scene and cooperated with responding officers.Neely was unconscious when police arrived but had a pulse, the public safety officer testified. However, responding officers later tried giving him CPR and administered Narcan, a heroin antidote used to revive people during overdoses. The next witness was Officer Dennis Kang, a 5-year veteran who also responded to the train car and met Penny at the scene. He said witnesses described Neely as « erratic » and said Penny was « stopping » him. Other people on the train appeared to be supportive of Penny, he said. The judge said he would not be releasing video played in court Thursday to the media because the trial has not yet begun.Penny’s lawyers are arguing that police had no cause to arrest him, and they are questioning whether any statements they intend to use against him were improperly obtained. « The Government must demonstrate that any statements they intend to use at trial were not obtained through coercion or threats, » one of his attorneys, Steve Raiser, told Fox News Digital earlier. « In addition, they will need to prove that probable cause existed to believe that a crime was committed. Our position will be that despite the low level of evidence necessary to demonstrate probable cause, the police did not have sufficient evidence. This is especially true considering the overwhelming evidence that Danny was justified in the actions he took to protect the commuters on that train. »Witnesses said the homeless Neely was threatening subway riders and behaving aggressively. He had a history of mental illness and violence, including the 2021 assault of a 67-year-old woman.Police questioned and released Penny on the day of the incident, but 11 days later, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office announced an indictment on charges of manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide. He has pleaded not guilty.Critics of Bragg’s decision to prosecute Penny have called the move political and believe that the veteran acted in self-defense and to protect other passengers. »If [Neely] had carried out his threats, he would have killed somebody, » Penny told Fox News Digital in June 2023.Another witness expressed similar concerns. »I don’t care if I have to kill an F, I will, » Neely had allegedly ranted. « I’ll go to jail, I’ll take a bullet. »Prosecutors said last year that they had obtained at least five eyewitness videos of the encounter and surveillance video they planned to introduce as evidence.Penny faces up to 19 years in prison if convicted. His trial was slated to begin before the end of the month.Fox News’ Maria Paronich contributed to this report.

‘The View’ co-host Joy Behar accuses Melania Trump of lying about her abortion stance: ‘It’s a big scam’

[ad_1]

« The View » co-host Joy Behar said Thursday that former first lady Melania Trump was lying about her abortion stance, which she revealed in her memoir, and said it was a « scam » to appease voters. « Sixty-two percent of Americans oppose overthrowing Roe v. Wade, 62%, the Republican Party knows this. I think they put her up to this. I think it’s a big scam. They put her out there, you know, as the face of, like, the American population that wants to have abortion rights, » Behar claimed.Melania reveals in her new memoir that she is pro-choice, according to reports. The former first lady doubled down on what she wrote in a video posted to social media on Thursday and said, « Without a doubt, there is no room for compromise when it comes to this essential right that all women possess from birth. Individual freedom. What does my body my choice really mean? » »I think that this is just a big lie, » Behar said. « I don’t buy it. »MELANIA TRUMP TO RELEASE FIRST MEMOIR, WILL REVEAL STORIES AND PHOTOS ‘NEVER BEFORE SHARED WITH THE PUBLIC’The other co-hosts also had their theories about the former first lady’s stance, given that former President Trump expressed support for the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin agreed that it was a « strategic » move. »I think she hates him. Okay, so we can all agree that. That’s a given. I also think that she wants to take him out. She does not want to be the first lady anymore. She doesn’t want to be the first lady. She destroyed the Rose Garden. Who hates Christmas? Melania Trump hates Christmas. She doesn’t want to decorate for Christmas. She doesn’t want anything to do with him. She doesn’t want to sleep in the same room with him. She can’t tolerate him, » Hostin suggested. The audience applauded Hostin after she claimed that Melania wanted to take out her husband.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTUREWhoopi Goldberg chimed in to say « allegedly » following Hostin’s statements. »I really think that this is her way of undercutting his bid for the presidency because then she doesn’t have to deal with him anymore, » the host added. « I think that she wants to take him out and she’s doing a pretty damn good job with that. »The former first lady wrote in her memoir that a woman’s fundamental right of « individual liberty » grants her the right to have an abortion if she wishes. »It is imperative to guarantee that women have autonomy in deciding their preference of having children, based on their own convictions, free from any intervention or pressure from the government, » Melania wrote, according to reports. »Restricting a woman’s right to choose whether to terminate an unwanted pregnancy is the same as denying her control over her own body. I have carried this belief with me throughout my entire adult life, » she continued. The office of Melania Trump did not respond to a request for comment.

Virginia Tech coach Brent Pry rips referees over Hail Mary touchdown reversal: ‘Don’t see how you overturn it’

[ad_1]

The Atlantic Coast Conference has been under fire in the days after the controversial ending of a game between two conference foes. The Miami Hurricanes and Virginia Tech Hokies took turns celebrating what each team believed at the time was a victory. But college football games can only have one winner. A chaotic final play resulted in heartbreak for Virginia Tech when referees overturned a Hail Mary touchdown that allowed Miami to survive. This week, Virginia Tech coach Brent Pry became the latest critic of the ACC.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMPry argued game officials failed to provide an explanation in the moments after their call or in the locker room after Friday’s game. The coach revealed he did not receive an explanation about the reversal until the ACC released what he described as a « confusing, at best » statement early Saturday morning.VIRGINIA TECH PLAYER BLASTS ACC AFTER REVERSED WALK-OFF HAIL MARY: ‘I WANNA SEE CONSEQUENCES’ »I was finally contacted Monday morning, which was a solicited contact, by the head of officials for the ACC, » Pry said Tuesday. « I asked for an explanation and the video that they viewed that merited overturning the call with indisputable evidence. The explanation was that there was a loose ball that was touched by a Miami defender who was out of bounds. The video showed nothing new, nothing that none of us hadn’t seen already. The words used with me were ‘interpretation’ and ‘hard to find,’ which, to me, neither one aligns with indisputable. »Pry also asserted that there was an insufficient amount of evidence to support the decision to overturn the initial call. « I watched the video that they watched. If it was ruled a catch, I don’t see how you overturn it. There’s no evidence. If it was ruled not a catch, I don’t see how you overturn it. You can’t see enough to tell. »The league « determined that the loose ball was touched by a Miami player while he was out of bounds. » »During the review process of the last play of the Virginia Tech at Miami game, it was determined that the loose ball was touched by a Miami player while he was out of bounds, which makes it an incomplete pass and immediately ends the play, » the statement from the ACC said.Virginia Tech quarterback Kyron Drones threw the ball to receiver Da’Quan Felton as the final seconds ticked off the clock during the game Sept. 27. Felton appeared to complete the catch, but the referees later ruled the pass incomplete.Virginia Tech will look to rebound this weekend when it travels to California for a matchup with Stanford. Miami will also be in the Golden State Saturday for a game against the California Golden Bears.Miami enters Week 6 with a 5-0 record and climbed the No. 8 spot in the latest AP Top 25 rankings.Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Voters in critical Michigan county focused on economy, candidate character as 2024 race tightens

[ad_1]

Voters in Kent County, Michigan, could play a large role in determining who wins November’s presidential election, but many voters in the area are still undecided about their choice. »I think there is too much division in his country. I think people on the left and people on the right hate each other a lot and I don’t think that’s right, » said one Kent County voter, who told Fox News Digital he is still undecided. The comments come as Kent County, which includes Michigan’s second-largest city of Grand Rapids and much of the surrounding area, figures to play an outsized role in November. While Michigan is well-known as one of the seven key swing states in the upcoming election, Kent County figures to be one of the key counties. Holding over 6% of the state’s population, the county has traditionally been known as a conservative haven. TRUMP TAKES NFL, NBA TO TASK ABOUT KNEELING DURING NATIONAL ANTHEMHowever, that trend has started to reverse itself in recent years, starting when former President Barack Obama was able to capture the county in 2008. Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, won the county during his presidential bid in 2012, while former President Donald Trump took Kent County in 2016. It went back to Democrats in 2020, when President Biden was able to capture this important part of Michigan. This year’s race promises to feature Kent County again, though some voters there remain unconvinced by the candidates. »Something which stood out to me about Trump is that he didn’t bring us into any wars, » one undecided voter said before noting that he believed Vice President Kamala Harris’ « stance is a lot clearer on LGBTQ rights. »Immigration stood out as an issue to some Kent County voters, with one telling Fox News Digital the issue was a matter of human rights. »People having the rights to be in our country and the rights to health care, » said0 the voter, who indicated he was voting for Harris.VANCE, WALZ VICE PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE ENDS WITH BOTH CANDIDATES TOUTING ‘NEW’ FUTURE »Hopefully she can bring down housing costs and pretty much just inflation for young people like myself, » he added. « Trying to buy a house, trying to get loans and cars and things like that is very important for people of my age. »However, another voter disagreed on the economy, arguing Trump is the right candidate to lead the country forward. »I believe that a person who has run a company, that’s been in business, can do a better job than a lifelong politician in terms of making decisions, » the voter said. That voter also indicated support for Trump on foreign policy, arguing he garnered the respect of world leaders. »I think he was not afraid to stand up for what he felt is right, » he said. « I think other world leaders took note of that. »Another voter, who indicated foreign policy was a key issue, disagreed. »One candidate gets it and the other doesn’t, » the voter, who indicated support for Harris, told Fox News Digital of the reason he is voting for Harris. »She understands the importance of our standing on the global stage, international politics, and our national security. I don’t think Trump understands that, » the voter continued.Yet others had more trouble picking a candidate, most notably because of the divisive nature of modern politics. »One day I’ll go one way and another day I’ll go another way, » one undecided voter told Fox News Digital. »It’s hard to take her seriously, nothing sticks out about her, » she said on Harris, while also noting that he finds it « very hard to believe » that someone as rich as Trump  » could care about people that don’t have any money. »The voter also deducted points from Trump because of the « tone of his voice. » »The name calling, I don’t particularly care for that, » the voter said.Get the latest updates from the 2024 campaign trail, exclusive interviews and more at our Fox News Digital election hub.

Over the last year alone, TikTok videos garnering thousands of views show users hiding and finding ducks like it’s a game.In one Facebook group, named « Cruising Ducks, » which has more than 284,000 members, the trend is described as a « cute and entertaining way to have a blast on cruises and to brighten others’ days. »HUGE RUBBER DUCK APPEARS IN MAINE HARBOR, AMUSES RESIDENTS: ‘IT’S WONDERFUL’Reports say that a young girl named Abby Davis started the Easter-egg-like idea — and it has since taken off. The Facebook group explains, « Our goal is to see how far our ducks will travel and where their journey might take them. Keep or hide, you decide, but please post your ducks’ travels here so everyone can enjoy. »Members are then asked to post a photo of their rubber duck onboard a ship and to specify which cruise line they are on. TRAVELERS REFLECT ON VIRAL 9-MONTH-LONG WORLD CRUISE THAT TOOK OVER TIKTOKIn the last month, roughly 3,500 posts have been featured on the Facebook page. One person posted a photo of their children, writing, « Kids came back with 20ish ducks. Carnival Dream, September 21-29. »Another person posted a photo of their 113 ducks found on the Carnival Cruise Lines Jubilee in September, saying they had five « active hunters » on the boat and brought over 400 to hide themselves. TRAVEL EXPERTS REVEAL BEST TIME TO FLY BEFORE A CRUISE AND WHYThe trend has made its way to Reddit as well, with one traveler posting on the « r/royalcaribbean » subreddit, saying they paid for a carry on just for their rubber duckies. Reddit users took to the comments to weigh in on the offbeat trend, with one person writing, « I hate to be a killjoy, but there’s really no reason for it. Just go on the cruise and enjoy what’s already there. »Another user explained that hiding and finding ducks on the ship was a fun activity for their kids on sea days when the boat didn’t stop at ports. For more Lifestyle articles, visit www.foxnews/lifestyle »My daughter works on the Utopia of the Seas and loves finding these! When her contract finishes, she plans to hide all the ducks she has collected around the ship, » another Reddit user commented. Cruising Ducks also has its own line of rubber ducks that can be purchased to take onboard cruise ships.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR LIFESTYLE NEWSLETTERFor anywhere from $14 to $26, customers can purchase different types of themed ducks — Dorothy, Glinda the Good Witch, « The Godfather » and even Donald Trump. Several theories online claim that some cruise ships discourage guests from hiding ducks on board.Fox News Digital reached out to Cruising Ducks, Carnival Cruise Lines, Disney Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean for comment.

Their grandson, John Savage, told The Associated Press he had checked in on his grandparents to make sure they were OK only moments before tragedy struck while Helene raged outside. « We heard one snap and I remember going back there and checking on them, » the 22-year-old said of his grandparents, who were lying in bed. « They were both fine, the dog was fine. » But soon after, Savage and his father heard a « boom » as one of the biggest trees on the property crashed on top of his grandparents’ bedroom, crushing them.NORTH CAROLINA COMMUNITY ‘HUNTING’ FOR MISSING TEACHERS IN ‘DEVASTATING’ AFTERMATH OF HURRICANE HELENE »All you could see was ceiling and tree, » he said. « I was just going through sheer panic at that point. »John Savage told the AP his grandparents were found in an embrace in bed, adding that the family believes it was God’s plan to take them together, rather than let one suffer without the other. »When they pulled them out of there, my grandpa apparently heard the tree snap beforehand and rolled over to try and protect my grandmother, » he said.Marcia and Jerry Savage were two of the more than 200 deaths that have been reported across six states — Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee — since Helene made landfall last week, according to FOX Weather.HURRICANE HELENE SURVIVOR SAYS WATER ROSE 4 FT. Colorado star Travis Hunter offers advice to ex-UNLV QB amid NIL drama: ‘It’s about getting to the NFL’

[ad_1]

Colorado Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter weighed in on the drama surrounding former UNLV quarterback Matthew Sluka on Wednesday.Sluka left the Rebels after a 3-0 start over financial commitments that allegedly were not met. He decided to take a redshirt year instead of finishing the season at the school. He had already transferred to UNLV from Holy Cross.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMHunter said on his podcast, « The Travis Hunter Show, » that Sluka should be focusing on the draft and not name, image and likeness (NIL) deals. »Buddy, if I’m you, I’m trying to get to the NFL, » said Hunter, who is a contender for the Heisman Trophy this year. « NIL can wait. I know it happened to a lot of your teammates, but I’m out there ballin’ on that field. I need all of the film I can get. Every piece of bit of the film. … It’s not about the NIL, it’s about the NFL. « Because I know if I would have went to go transfer somewhere else, could have got a major amount of money, but it ain’t about the money. It’s about getting to the NFL. The NFL going to set you for life. NIL can only set you for a moment. »Sluka announced last week he was leaving the team amid a 3-0 start, alleging that certain commitments weren’t fulfilled when he decided to transfer from Holy Cross to UNLV. »I committed to UNLV based on certain representations that were made to me, which were not upheld after I enrolled, » Sluka said in a statement posted to X. ESPN HOST SCOLDS FORMER UNLV QUARTERBACK OVER NIL DRAMA: ‘CAN’T JUST BAIL ON THE TEAM' »Despite discussions, it became clear that these commitments would not be fulfilled in the future. I wish my teammates the best of luck this season and hope for the continued success of the program. »Marcus Cromartie, Sluka’s agent from Equity Sports, and the quarterback’s father, Bob, claim UNLV did not hold up its end of a verbal $100,000 NIL offer for Sluka to transfer from Holy Cross to UNLV. Blueprint Sports and Entertainment, UNLV’s NIL collective, issued a statement denying claims from the Sluka family. « There were no formal NIL offers made during Mr. Sluka’s recruitment process, » a statement said. « Additionally, Friends of UNILV did not finalize or agree to any NIL offers while he was part of the team, aside from a completed community engagement event over the summer. »At Blueprint Sports and Friends of UNILV, we take our commitments very seriously. We would like to emphasize that we have upheld all Friends of UNILV contracts this season, and have not defaulted on any agreements with Mr. Sluka. Our commitment to supporting Rebel student-athletes remains unwavering and we are dedicated to maintaining the integrity of our programs. »UNLV also issued a statement on the matter, saying Sluka made « financial demands » it considered a violation of NCAA rules. »Football player Matthew Sluka’s representative made financial demands upon the University and its NIL collective in order to continue playing, » the school stated. « UNLV Athletics interpreted these demands as a violation of the NCAA pay-for-play rules, as well as Nevada state law. UNLV does not engage in such activity, nor does it respond to implied threats. UNLV has honored all previously agreed-upon scholarships for Matthew Sluka. »UNLV has conducted its due diligence and will continue to operate its programs within the framework of NCAA rules and regulations, as well as Nevada state laws. »Fox News’ Scott Thompson contributed to this report.Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

5 key details in special counsel Jack Smith’s Trump election case filing

[ad_1]

A federal judge on Wednesday unsealed a key filing from special counsel Jack Smith’s updated election interference case against former President Donald Trump.U.S. District Judge for the District of Columbia Tanya Chutkan unsealed Smith’s 165-page filing, in which Smith argues that Trump is not immune from prosecution for his alleged criminal scheme to overturn the 2020 election results. Smith submitted the document after the U.S. Supreme Court earlier this year ruled that a president is immune from prosecution for official acts. « Although the defendant was the incumbent President during the charged conspiracies, his scheme was fundamentally a private one, » Smith wrote. « Working with a team of private co-conspirators, the defendant acted as a candidate when he pursued multiple criminal means to disrupt, through fraud and deceit, the government function by which votes are collected and counted — a function in which the defendant, as President, had no official role. » The Supreme Court’s decision in Trump v. United States held that Smith could not prosecute Trump for the president’s alleged use of the Justice Department to look into unproven claims of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election. In response, Smith filed an updated indictment that revised the allegations against Trump to fit within the scope of the Supreme Court’s decision. JUDGE UNSEALS KEY FILING IN SPECIAL COUNSEL’S ELECTION CASE AGAINST TRUMPIn the unsealed filing, Smith told the court that Trump is not immune from the remaining allegations against him and laid out his case for why Trump « must stand trial for his private crimes. » Trump has pleaded not guilty to all charges brought against him by Smith. Here are five key details from the special counsel’s new filing, which is partially redacted: In the filing unsealed Wednesday, Smith outlined a « factual proffer, » alleging Trump « resorted to crimes to try to stay in office » after losing the 2020 presidential election. »With private co-conspirators, the defendant launched a series of increasingly desperate plans to overturn the legitimate election results in seven states that he had lost—Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, » Smith wrote. « His efforts included lying to state officials in order to induce them to ignore true vote counts; manufacturing fraudulent electoral votes in the targeted states; attempting to enlist Vice President Michael R. Pence, in his role as President of the Senate, to obstruct Congress’s certification of the election by using the defendant’s fraudulent electoral votes; and when all else had failed, on January 6, 2021, directing an angry crowd of supporters to the United States Capitol to obstruct the congressional certification. » PROSECUTORS REQUEST INDEFINITE DELAY IN TRIAL FOR TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT SUSPECT RYAN ROUTHSmith claims that the « throughline of these efforts was deceit, » alleging Trump and co-conspirators engaged in a conspiracy to interfere with the federal government function by which the nation collects and counts election results, which is set forth in the Constitution and the Electoral Count Act (ECA); a conspiracy to obstruct the official proceeding in which Congress certifies the legitimate results of the presidential election; and a conspiracy against the rights of millions of Americans to vote and have their votes counted. » Smith claims that several people close to Trump had told the former president his claims of election fraud were « bulls—. » According to Smith, in one conversation, an unnamed Trump attorney had told Trump that the campaign was « looking into his fraud claims and had even hired external experts to do so, but could find no support for them. » « He told the defendant that if the Campaign took these claims to court, they would get slaughtered because the claims are all ‘bulls—,’ » the filing states, with Smith claiming that a lawyer discussed with Trump the investigations and « debunkings on all major claims. » For example, the attorney allegedly told Trump that Georgia’s audit disproved claims that votes had been altered. TRUMP BLASTS DOJ FOR ‘ELECTION INTERFERENCE,’ CALLS JACK SMITH CASE A ‘SCAM’ AFTER JUDGE UNSEALS KEY FILINGSmith also claims a senior campaign adviser who spoke with Trump on a « daily basis » and had « informed him on multiple occasions that various fraud claims were false » had complained that Trump was losing his election lawsuits because his lawyers could not back up false claims about the election. »When our research and campaign legal team can’t back up any of the claims made by our Elite Strike Force Legal Team, you can see why we’re 0-32 on our cases, » the campaign adviser allegedly wrote. »I’ll obviously hustle to help on all fronts, but it’s tough to own any of this when it’s all just conspiracy s— beamed down from the mothership. »  The filing details several alleged interactions between Trump and former Vice President Mike Pence in the days following the election.Smith details a Nov. 7, 2020, call between Pence and Trump in which Pence allegedly « tried to encourage » Trump « as a friend » by reminding him that he « took a dying political party and gave it a new lease on life. » Smith also details a private lunch between Trump and Pence on Nov. 12, 2020, when Pence allegedly gave Trump a « face-saving option. » That option, according to the filing, was « don’t concede but recognize the process is over. » In another private lunch between Trump and Pence on Nov. 16, 2020, Pence allegedly tried to encourage Trump to accept the results of the election and run again in 2024. Trump is alleged to have responded, « I don’t know, 2024 is so far off. » TRUMP TRIAL STEMMING FROM JACK SMITH’S PROBE DELAYED PAST ELECTION DAYIn yet another private lunch on Dec. 21, Pence allegedly « encouraged » Trump « not to look at the election ‘as a loss – just an intermission.' » Later that day in the Oval Office, Trump allegedly asked Pence for advice on what he should do. According to Smith, Pence said, « after we have exhausted every legal process in the courts and Congress, if we still came up short, Trump should ‘take a bow.’ » Additionally, Smith reveals that Trump allegedly showed little regard for Pence’s safety during the Jan. 6, 2023 riot at the U.S. Capitol after it became clear that Pence would not support his attempt to stop the certification of the election. Smith alleges that an unnamed Trump aide, « upon receiving a phone call alerting him that Pence had been taken to a secure location… rushed to the dining room to inform the defendant [Trump] in hopes that the defendant would take action to ensure Pence’s safety. » Smith writes that instead, after the aide delivered the news, Trump « looked at him and said only, ‘So what?' » Smith alleges that Trump at multiple times showed complete disregard for those who informed him his claims of voter fraud were false, including Republican elections officials in states where Trump had claimed the election was stolen. « Election officials, for instance, issued press releases and other public statements to combat the disinformation that the defendant and his allies were spreading, » Smith wrote. « At one point long after the defendant had begun spreading false fraud claims, [REDACTED], a White House staffer traveling with the defendant, overheard him tell family members that ‘it doesn’t matter if you won or lost the election. You still have to fight like hell. » Smith goes on to assert that Trump and his legal team « repeatedly changed the numbers in their baseless fraud allegations from day to day, » and even « made up figures from whole cloth. » TRUMP INDICTED A SECOND TIME IN ELECTION SUBVERSION CASE BROUGHT BY SPECIAL COUNSEL JACK SMITHThe special counsel claimed Trump « was on notice that there was no evidence of widespread election fraud in Arizona within a week of the election » and claimed Trump also « had early notice that his claims of election fraud in Georgia were false. » By the time Trump spoke at his rally on Jan. 6, after Pence had refused to stop the certification of the election, Smith said the former president knew his « last hope » to overturn the results was « the large and angry crowd standing in front of him. » « So for more than an hour, the defendant delivered a speech designed to inflame his supports and motivate them to march to the Capitol. The defendant told the crowd many of the same lies he had been telling for months—privately and publicly, including to the officials in the targeted states—and that he knew were not true. »Smith argues that based on a « factbound analysis » of Trump’s conduct, the court should determine that the former president was not acting in his official capacity when he challenged the election results and is therefore not immune from prosecution. « None of the allegations or evidence is protected by presidential immunity, » Smith wrote, asserting Trump’s « scheme was a private one. » « He extensively used private actors and his campaign infrastructure to attempt to overturn the election results and operated in a private capacity as a candidate for office, » Smith claimed. « To the limited extent that the superseding indictment and proffered evidence reflect official conduct, however, the Government can rebut the presumption of immunity because relying on that conduct in this prosecution will not pose a danger of intrusion on the authority or functions of the Executive Branch. » Fox News Digital’s Brooke Singman and Fox News’ Jake Gibson contributed to this report.

Voters react to Gov Tim Walz dodging Tiananmen Square question: ‘I’m a knucklehead at times’

[ad_1]

A focus group of Democrats, independents and Republicans reacted to the moment when Gov. Tim Walz called himself a « knucklehead » for claiming to have been in Hong Kong during the Tiananmen Square massacre.Moderators confronted Walz on the claim during the CBS News Vice Presidential Debate Tuesday night. Walz admitted that he only traveled to Asia in August 1989, several months after the April 15 protests began, culminating in a massacre on June 3 and 4. »Can you explain that discrepancy? » a moderator asked, as the focus group remained neutral. »Look, I grew up in small rural Nebraska, a town of 400. A town that you rode your bikes with your buddies until the streetlights come on, and I’m proud of that service. I joined the national guard at 17, worked on family farms, and then I used the GI bill to become a teacher. Passionate about it. Young teacher. My first year out, I got the opportunity in the summer of ’89 to travel to China–35 years ago, to be able to do that, » Walz said.ABC DEBATE MODERATORS SPARK FURY FOR AGGRESSIVE FACT-CHECKING OF TRUMP, EASY TREATMENT OF HARRIS »I came back home and started a program to take young people there. We would take basketball teams, we would take baseball teams, we would take dancers, and we would go back and forth to China, » he added.JD VANCE REMINDS CBS MODERATORS OF DEBATE RULES AFTER THEY TRY TO FACT-CHECK HIMThe focus group showed support from Republicans, independents and Democrats all going down for Walz during the first portion of his response. However, Walz recovered among independents and Democrats when he went on to admit that he can be « a knucklehead at times. » »Many times I will talk a lot. I will get caught up in the rhetoric, » he said, as support from independents rose above 50% in the focus group.WATCH: TOP 5 MOMENTS FROM THE DEBATE:Walz’s support among Republicans dipped to its lowest point – under 10% – when he said former President Donald Trump would have benefited from participating in one of his China trips, arguing Trump would never have befriended Chinese President Xi Jinping.Fox News’ Sophia Compton and Brooke Curto contributed to this report.

Illegal immigrants with ‘terrorism ties’ will continue to exploit border, Homeland Security report warns

[ad_1]

Illegal immigrants with « terrorism ties » are expected to exploit the U.S. border as the threat environment remains high, the Department of Homeland Security warned Wednesday. The agency detailed a number of warnings in its annual Homeland Threat Assessment, which is used to inform local, state and federal agencies about public safety and security threats, saying the « terrorism threat environment » over the next year « will remain high. » « Over the next year, we expect some individuals with terrorism ties and some criminal actors will continue their efforts to exploit migration flows and the complex border security environment to enter the United States, » the assessment states. HARRIS HEADS TO SOUTHERN BORDER LOOKING TO FLIP SCRIPT ON IMMIGRATION CRITICISMS « Individuals with potential terrorism connections continue to attempt to enter the Homeland at both the US-Mexico and US-Canada borders and also through the immigration system, » it continued. There were 172 encounters of nationals on the terror watchlist at the border between ports of entry last fiscal year and more than 560 at the ports of entry. The report also laid out concerns about violence in response to the 2024 election cycle, which has already seen assassination attempts on former President Trump’s life, as well as foreign violent extremists carrying out potential attacks in response to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. Groups like ISIS and al-Qaeda « maintain the enduring intent to conduct or inspire attacks in the Homeland and have leveraged the conflict in the Middle East to reaffirm this intent, » the report said. « Among state actors, we expect Iran to remain the primary sponsor of terrorism and continue its efforts to advance plots against individuals—including current and former US officials—in the United States, » the assessment warned. TOP HOUSE COMMITTEE SHREDS BIDEN-HARRIS ADMIN ON BORDER CRISIS IN NEW REPORT: ‘ASSAULT ON THE RULE OF LAW’ In addition to Iran, China and Russia have increasingly used artificial intelligence to create « more believable » text, video and audio to reach American audiences while hiding their origins, the report said. The terror watchlist, called the Terrorist Screening Dataset, includes known or suspected terrorists, as well as additional individuals believed to pose a potential threat to the U.S. — including affiliates of individuals on the watchlist.Despite migrant encounters dipping slightly, they are still arriving in high numbers, « complicating border and immigration security, » according to the threat assessment. « Migrant encounters along the US-Canada border continue to increase, with over 181,000 migrant encounters in FY 2024 through August, compared to about 170,000 encounters at the same time in FY 2023, » the report said. « In contrast to the US-Mexico border, many watchlist encounters along the US-Canada border occur at ports of entry, and the vast majority of these individuals have legal status in Canada. »Encounters with migrants from Eastern Hemisphere countries, including China, India, Russia, and western African nations, decreased slightly in FY 2024 from about 10% to 9% of overall encounters, but remain a higher proportion of encounters than before FY 2023, the report said.

Diddy party photog who reportedly broke 1999 Jennifer Lopez romance says nude bashes included warning for kids

[ad_1]

For years, Sean « Diddy » Combs has been known to throw some of the most extravagant bashes. From the infamous white parties held at his homes in the Hamptons, Los Angeles and Miami to smaller gatherings on a yacht in St. Tropez, the fallen music mogul quickly gained global recognition in the late 1990s and early 2000s for his lavish, celebrity-packed get-togethers that often featured an excess of alcohol, drugs and nudity. Since his arrest on multiple sex trafficking charges last month, more and more details are emerging about what actually happened during those parties. In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, celebrity photographer Selma Fonseca, who attended « 20 to 30 » Diddy parties throughout her career and reportedly broke the news of his romance with Jennifer Lopez in 1999, opened up about what she witnessed firsthand, including a warning to children who were in attendance and a « nerve-wracking » moment she never saw coming.WATCH ON FOX NATION: WHAT DIDDY DO? »I mean, all his parties were incredible: the best food, the best music, drinks, entertainers, people with fire, » Fonseca said of the parties, which were often attended by celebrities such as Ashton Kutcher, Lopez, Paris Hilton, Mariah Carey, Usher, Jay-Z and more; none of whom have been implicated in Diddy’s criminal case. »It was like a mini-circus, » she added. « LeBron James said, ‘There’s no party, like a Diddy party.’ There was a lot of champagne going around and everything else. You could have whatever you wanted. »Fonseca first met Diddy at his birthday bash in 1998. One year later, Diddy invited Fonseca to his white party at his home in the Hamptons. SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS ARRESTED FOLLOWING RAIDS, HUMAN TRAFFICKING INVESTIGATION »He had just bought that house in the Hamptons, and he had the white party where I was able to photograph him and J-Lo on the balcony kissing each other, » she recalled. « And I broke the news that they were dating because there were rumors they were dating, but nobody had proof. »LIKE WHAT YOU’RE READING? CLICK HERE FOR MORE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSDIDDY SEX TRAFFICKING PROBE BRINGS UNWANTED SCRUTINY TO STARS: ‘SILENCE IS THE BEST OPTION,’ EXPERT SAYSAs a photographer, Fonseca, who has published two books that highlight her career as a celebrity photojournalist, had a firsthand account of how a typical Diddy party unfolded from beginning to end. « He would walk around, say hello to everyone, you know what I mean? He was always out and about and doing something, talking on the mic and at the DJ booth, » she recalled. »There was no VIP area that was closed off, » she said. « It was like everybody was a VIP in East Hampton. He had some people go inside the living room, and he also had the bedroom upstairs on the balcony. So, people would go inside, but not everybody was allowed inside. »Fonseca, who said she « never went inside » because she was « never invited, » said she wasn’t entirely sure what went on inside at the time.TMZ PRESENTS: THE DOWNFALL OF DIDDY »I never saw anything out of the ordinary, only that the performers were very sexual and very sexy all the time, » she said. « There were geishas walking around. There were women in very skimpy outfits walking around, dancing on top of pedestals. But that’s like something that he just wanted, just to entertain people. I’ve seen naked people at his parties. » »I don’t know if freak-offs were happening, » she added. « But anywhere there are rich and famous people, there are sex workers around … there are sex workers everywhere. They’re very discreet, » Fonseca alleged. In the indictment presented in court last month, officials alleged that Combs and a number of unnamed associates in the Combs Enterprise used intimidation tactics to « lure female victims into Combs’ orbit, often under the pretense of a romantic relationship. »CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTERHe would then use « force, threats of force, and coercion, to cause victims to engage in extended sex acts with male commercial sex workers that COMBS referred to as, among other things, ‘Freak Offs,' » according to the indictment.FOX NATION SPECIAL EXPLORES SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS INVESTIGATION, RAIDS »Freak Offs » were « elaborate produced sex performances that Combs arranged, directed, masturbated during, and often electronically recorded. »While Fonseca said she didn’t witness the alleged « freak-offs, » she said it wasn’t uncommon for women to be walking around naked. »As people were drinking, it got a little crazier, » she continued. « Sometimes people took their clothes off and [would] go in the swimming pool. That was kind of normal. »Fonseca recalled Diddy being a very hands-on host, making sure his guests were provided with drinks at any given moment. »He always had this tray, and he offered shots to everyone, » she said. « Ecstasy was really in fashion at that time, » she added. « So, it’s like if you take a drink or take a pill, how is anybody going to know? »Most of the time, Diddy’s parties would start off innocent with children of various celebrities often in attendance. But when the parents were told to put their children down, « [T]hings were going to get crazy, » said Fonseca. In a video obtained by Fox News Digital, Diddy can be heard advising parents to « put the kids away » so that everyone else can get their « groove on. »WATCH: Diddy warns parents to ‘put the kids away’ at his infamous white party »We fed ya’ll, gave ya’ll some drinks. Now it’s time to enjoy life, » Diddy said. « This is a celebration of life. This is the legendary white party. And to all the kids, the kids have an hour left. Get extra comfortable kids, because after that, ya’ll got to go. It’s a wrap for ya’ll. Because this thing turns into something that when ya’ll get older, ya’ll are going to want to come to. Let’s start to get our groove on and in an hour we’ll put the kids away. »While Fonseca said she never felt « unsafe, » she experienced a « nerve-wracking » moment in 2006 at one of Diddy’s parties. »Diddy was in a VIP area, and I saw there was a girl next to him that I had never seen before, » she said. « I took pictures of him with the girl, and he told his bodyguard, ‘Go get her camera.’ The bodyguard came and said, ‘Let me see the pictures,' » Fonseca alleged. »Diddy looked at the pictures, and I’m waiting, and he’s pouring shots, having fun. He did eventually give me my camera back. » Fonseca noted that Diddy did not delete any photos. »He never asked me for my camera, » she added. « I had been photographing the man for 20 years. It was scary, but he knew better. »When Diddy’s L.A. and Miami homes were first raided this year in relation to a federal human trafficking investigation, Fonseca said she wasn’t sure what to think. »I wasn’t really surprised, but I was surprised at the same time because I’ve never seen anything, » she said. « I’ve been around this guy so many times backstage at the award ceremonies, I mean all the time. I used to see him probably once a month or more. »Diddy was arrested and charged with racketeering conspiracy; sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; and transportation to engage in prostitution. He faces a minimum of 15 years behind bars and a maximum sentence of life in prison if found guilty.Combs appeared in Manhattan federal court where he pleaded not guilty. Not only was Combs denied the proposed $50 million bail, he was sent to jail immediately after the hearing.Prior to the U.S. attorney’s press conference in September, Combs’ attorney said they planned to fight for the rapper to be released. »His spirits are good. He’s confident, » Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, said outside the courthouse on Sept. 17. « He is dealing with this head-on, the way he’s dealt with every challenge in his life. And he’s not guilty. He’s innocent of these charges. He’s going to plead not guilty, obviously. He’s going to fight this with all of his energy and all of his might and the full confidence of his lawyers. And I expect a long battle with a good result for Mr. Combs. »I’m going to fight like hell to get him released, and he should be released, » Agnifilo added, « with all that he’s done and coming here voluntarily. »In TMZ’s documentary, « Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment, » Agnifilo said Diddy is « very eager » to speak the truth. »I don’t know that I can keep him off the stand, » Agnifilo said in the documentary. « I think he is very eager to tell his story. And I think he will tell every part of the story, including what you see on the video. So, I expect it’s going to be explained by the both of us. »Fox News Digital’s Lauryn Overhultz and Tracy Wright contributed to this post.

Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz revokes football staffer’s access due to brother playing for upcoming opponent

[ad_1]

Undefeated Missouri will travel to Kyle Field this weekend for what is expected to be a tough road test when they take on No. 25 Texas A&M. As Missouri continues to prepare for the Southeastern Conference tilt, coach Eli Drinkwitz made a somewhat unexpected move this week by informing one of the team’s staffers that they would be barred from attending practice.Drinkwitz said Briah Reed, Missouri’s assistant director of on-campus recruiting, is « not allowed at practice this week. » The coach cited the presence of Briah’s brother, Marcel Reed, on the Aggies’ roster.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMReed, a freshman quarterback, could start for Texas A&M on Oct. 6.Aggies coach Mike Elko said Conner Weigman is considered a « game-time decision. » Weigman was the starting quarterback in the Aggies season opening loss to Notre Dame, but exited a Week 2 game due to a shoulder injury.Reed has thrown a pass in four of the Aggies’ five games this season, starting in each of the past three contests. Drinkwitz said the coaching staff is gearing its gameplan around Reed this week, regardless of Weigman’s status.AP TOP 25: ALABAMA RETURNS TO NO. 1; OLE MISS, UTAH SLIDE AFTER WEEK 6″At this point, I know on their depth chart, it says the other kid is the starting quarterback, » Drinkwitz said. »But that’s just semantics in my opinion. [Reed] is 3-0 as the starter. Whether he’s listed as questionable or whatever, I don’t see them going back. They’re 3-0, they clearly have a different offensive identity with [Reed] as quarterback, and they’ve developed an offense that fits around his system. It’s a lot different than the first game of the year. If they go with the other one, they go with the other one. But they’ve kind of already built the offense towards Marcel. »On Wednesday, Drinkwitz doubled down on his stance on Briah’s week-long practice ban, saying he « wasn’t joking. » Drinkwitz made the comments during an SEC coaches teleconference.Drinkwitz also acknowledged that the brother-sister relationship created an « interesting dynamic. » »It’s created an interesting dynamic, » Drinkwitz said. « At the end of the day, that’s her brother and that’s her blood, and we know that she’s doing her job here. But family is always so important, and so we don’t want her to be in any type of conflict of interest. In fact, I just saw her in the hallway just a second ago. But I’m not letting her in the copy room and she’s sure not going to have her eyes on the scouting report. »Drinkwitz also said that prior to Week 3, he was unaware that Briah had a family member who played for Texas A&M. Marcel threw two touchdowns during the Aggies 33-20 victory over the Florida Gators that week. Drinkwitz is in the midst of his fifth season as the head coach at Missouri. 74 days: Kamala Harris has yet to do formal press conference since emerging as Democratic nominee

[ad_1]

Vice President Kamala Harris has gone 74 days as the presumptive, and now, official Democratic nominee for president without holding an official press conference. Trump held his third news conference since the beginning of August last month in California, taking the opportunity to roast his opponent’s home state and hold forth on a number of topics, including crime, immigration and inflation.BERNIE SANDERS SAYS HARRIS DROPPING FAR-LEFT POLICIES ‘IN ORDER TO WIN THE ELECTION’Harris has stepped up her interviews in recent weeks, including doing radio hits and a solo sit-down with a Philadelphia TV station. She also spoke to MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle and she made time to hang out with supporter Oprah Winfrey last month at a star-studded campaign event. But as for when she’ll actually do a formal press conference as a candidate, that day may never come, at least while she’s still a candidate.Conservative Radio Libre host Jorge Bonilla feels Harris should do a press conference but said it’s almost « irrelevant » because she continues to get a pass. HARRIS DODGES QUESTION ON LOWERING PRICES BY DESCRIBING ‘MIDDLE-CLASS’ ROOTS: NEIGHBORS ‘PROUD OF THEIR LAWN’ »She is highly unlikely to do a press conference because the media have enabled and encouraged her ‘plexiglass basement’ strategy, wherein she preserves the illusion of being out there while remaining wholly inaccessible to the press and therefore unaccountable, » Bonilla told Fox News Digital. In her interview in Philadelphia, her answer citing her middle-class upbringing when asked about specifics of her economic policy drew sharp criticism.BARBARA WALTERS WOULD EXPECT KAMALA HARRIS TO DO INTERVIEWS, AUTHOR SAYS: ‘PART OF THE JOB OF BEING PRESIDENT' »You know, I grew up in a neighborhood of folks who were very proud of their lawn, » she said. « And I was raised to believe and to know that all people deserve dignity, and that we as Americans have a beautiful character. You know, we have ambitions and aspirations and dreams, but not everyone necessarily has access to the resources that can help them fuel those dreams and ambitions. « So when I talk about building an opportunity economy, it is very much with the mind of investing in the ambitions and aspirations and the incredible work ethic of the American people and creating opportunity for people, for example, to start a small business. »Fox News Digital’s Paul Steinhauser contributed to this report.

With the bases loaded in the sixth inning, Jose Iglesias struck out, proving to be costly later on.
