Additionally, FEMA has shipped over 8.5 million meals, more than 7 million liters of water, 150 generators and over 220,000 tarps to aid response efforts, according to the White House.As of Friday, the federal government has provided more than $45 million in Individual assistance to survivors affected by the storm, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said, including in the form of one-time $750 payments from FEMA to qualified applicants in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. While Biden ended his own press conference dry spell, Harris has not held a formal news conference since emerging as the Democratic nominee when Biden dropped out in July.

A close House race in New York was rocked by an October surprise when photos surfaced of the incumbent Republican congressman in blackface as part of a Halloween costume years ago.Rep. Michael Lawler, R-N.Y., who is white, is pictured dressed like pop sensation Michael Jackson, complete with bronzer to darken his face in an October 2006 photo reported by the New York Times. Lawler does not dispute the photo’s authenticity and has issued an apology to anyone who has taken offense, though he said it was not his intention to dress in blackface. »As has been well-documented – most recently by the Daily Beast – I was a so-called ‘Super Fan’ of Michael Jackson, so much so that I was mentioned by name in his biography for my outspoken support of him and the Jackson Family. Lawler, who was class valedictorian in 2009, was well-known for his love of Michael Jackson, the paper reported.When Lawler was a high school senior in 2005, he flew from New York to California to attend parts Jackson’s criminal trial. The musician had faced allegations of molesting a 13-year-old boy at his Neverland Ranch, though Jackson was eventually acquitted. FORMER DEMOCRATIC REP MONDAIRE JONES LAUNCHES COMEBACK BID FOR CRUCIAL SEAT THAT HELPED GOP TAKE HOUSEJackson biographer J. Randy Taraborrelli recounted in his book how he helped get Lawler into the courtroom, according to the Daily Beast. Taraborrelli wrote in « Michael Jackson: The Magic, The Madness, The Whole Story » that the teen had been « so disgusted » by testimony against Jackson « that he couldn’t help but mutter something derogatory under his breath. » In Taraborrelli’s account, Lawler was overheard by court officials and « tossed right out of the courtroom. » The photos in question were posted to Facebook and depict Lawler dressed in a jacket reminiscent of the one Jackson wore in the « Thriller » music video. The New York Times cited a person familiar with the costume who said that Lawler had used bronzer borrowed from female classmates to darken his skin. Sanxingdui Ruins is an archaeological site located in Southwest China’s Sichuan Province. The site has undergone heavy exploration through the years, with thousands of notable artifacts coming out of excavations. The Sanxingdui Ruins lie in Guanghan City. The site was first discovered in 1929 by a farmer who came across jade and stone artifacts while repairing a sewage ditch, according to Live Science. It was not until 1934 that an official scientific excavation commenced, according to China Daily. Since that first excavation, research and discovery has continued at the site. During the 1980s, the excavation of two pits was conducted, where over 1,000 artifacts were unearthed, according to China Daily. Those finds included figurines, human face masks and more. IRISH FARMER FINDS NEAR 60-POUND SLAB OF ANCIENT BOG BUTTER ON HIS LAND BY ‘PURE LUCK’Between 2019 and 2020, six more pits were excavated, according to the source, with more than 500 artifacts uncovered, including seashells, silk, ritual bronze vessels and gold masks. There has been an abundance of notable finds from the troves of artifacts discovered at the Sanxingdui Ruins. Among more recent discoveries, gold masks have been among the significant finds at the site. For example, in September 2022, it was announced by China’s National Cultural Heritage Administration that a 3,000-year-old gold mask was discovered at the site among royal tombs. MOM, SON DIG UP ANCIENT OBJECT OFTEN FOUND NEAR BURIAL GROUNDS WHILE GARDENINGThe ancient mask dated back to the Shang Dynasty, ARTNews reported at the time, and predated another gold mask that was found the fall before at the Sanxingdui Ruins.In 2021, a complete gold mask weighing about 100 grams was unearthed at the site, according to China’s Xinhua News Agency. The gold mask was larger, but weighed less than another fragment of a gold mask that was found at the site earlier on in 2021, according to the Sichuan Provincial Cultural Relics and Archaeology Research Institute. Since 2022, there have been more than 4,000 artifacts unearthed from the Sanxingdui Ruins, which include pottery, jadeware and stoneware, according to China’s Xinhua News Agency.To date, there have been over 60,000 relics found at the site, according to the source. The Sanxingdui Ruins is widely acknowledged as one of the « world’s greatest archaeological finds of the 20th century, » according to China’s Xinhua News Agency. Experts believe that the Sanxingdui Ruins are the remains of the ancient Shu Kingdom.The Sanxingdui Museum first opened its doors in 1997, though it has been expanded since, and has provided an opportunity for visitors to see first hand many of the artifacts that have been found at the archaeological site through the years.

While Kardashian called the murders of their parents « inexcusable, » she said the brothers were treated more like « serial killers » than two men who had « endured years of sexual abuse by the very people they loved and trusted. »She added, « I don’t believe that spending their entire natural lives incarcerated was the right punishment for this complex case. Had this crime been committed and trialed today, I believe the outcome would have been dramatically different. « I also strongly believe that they were denied a fair second trial and that the exclusion of crucial abuse evidence denied Erik and Lyle the opportunity to fully present their case, further undermining the fairness of their conviction. »However, not everyone agrees with Kardashian’s assessment. « If they were brought to trial again today, they would be found guilty, » Clark Fogg, a retired senior forensic specialist with the Beverly Hills Police Department who investigated the murders, told Fox News Digital this week. Fogg believes the brothers’ motive for the murders had to do with « greed and money. »LISTEN TO MENENDEZ BROTHERS JAILHOUSE PHONE CALL: »Why did they even have to kill their mom in the first place? » Fogg said. « If you killed Mr. Menendez separately from her, she would end up getting the inheritance, right? So they had to eliminate both of them in order to have the inheritance. »Fogg investigated the Menendez brothers’ case in 1989. He took photos and preserved evidence at the crime scene, attended the autopsies and took the stand during both trials. When speaking with Fox News Digital, he painted a horrific picture of the crime scene. « One of the detectives had to actually hold a golf umbrella over my head as I was taking photos because, every so often, things would be falling from the ceiling, » Fogg said. « It comes down to one thing. The reason why they’re in jail is that they killed their mother and father brutally, not poison them, but shotgun them to death to a point that they were all over the ceiling. … That’s how brutally they were murdered. »Fogg said it appeared their mother was trying to escape when she was killed because there was blood on the soles of her shoes. Serial killers could be working as long-haul truckers in the United States.The FBI launched its Highway Serial Killings Initiative in 2009 after analysts noticed a pattern of murdered women – most living transient lifestyles involving drug abuse and prostitution – who had been killed and dumped along the Interstate 40 corridor in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas and Mississippi, according to its website.Using the Violent Criminal Apprehension Program, which is a national database between law enforcement branches that contains information on homicides, sexual assaults, missing people and unidentified human remains, analysts amassed a list of hundreds of victims along highways nationwide and hundreds of suspects, predominantly long-haul truckers. FBI’S ‘FLAWED’ CRIME DATA HIGHLIGHTED BY CHICAGO’S 118 ‘MISSING MURDERS’: EXPERTFrank Figliuzzi, a former assistant director of the FBI who spent 25 years with the agency, released a book this year on the subject, « Long Haul: Hunting the Highway Serial Killers. »In the book, he writes that there have been approximately 850 murders along America’s highways since 1980, and that about 200 of them are unsolved.FOLLOW THE FOX TRUE CRIME TEAM ON X »Oftentimes, the people who are at the highest risk for being kidnapped or harmed by a serial killer are the people who are the most invisible, the least likely to have connections to their families and may or may not have a trafficker, » said Dominique Roe-Sepowitz, the director of Arizona State University’s Office of Sex Trafficking Intervention Research. »The casual reference [to a woman selling sex at truck stops along interstate highways] is a ‘Lot Lizard.’ They are often very transient and often suffer from substance abuse disorders. They are very likely to not be missed, to be easily lured in by a truck driver with some money, » she said. « It’s a low level of screening and a low level of personal safety. »ALABAMA PLUMBER ALLEGEDLY TRIED TO HIRE HIT MAN TO KILL WIFE, 6 ADULT KIDS: ‘TAKE YOUR TIME’There are between 300,000 and 500,000 long-haul truckers in America, NPR reported, and the majority of them are upstanding workers committed to keeping the supply chain moving. But the mobile nature of truckers’ lifestyles and the multiple jurisdictions that they travel through lends itself to a scarcity of witnesses and a lower chance of getting caught should they pick up, murder and dump vulnerable sex workers and transients. »There are 25 long-haul truckers already in prison for multiple murders, » Figliuzzi told NewsNation. « There have been cases in the greater Cincinnati and the larger Ohio area. »DOJ INSPECTOR GENERAL DOES NOT DENY FBI INFORMANTS WERE AMONG JAN 6 CROWDThe program led to the capture and arrest of suspects believed to be responsible for homicides across the country, according to the FBI’s website.Supervisory Special Agent Richard J. Kolko of the FBI’s National Press Office told Fox News Digital last week that the program is « no more, » but he did not divulge specifics of the program’s results or what led to its closure. A Milwaukee man has been accused of swiping items from the same Walgreens store three times during a week’s span. The items were mostly cleaning and sanitary items, like soaps, toilet paper, razors, lotions and other household goods.John Dzwonkowski, 38, now faces two counts of felony retail theft, according to police records and Fox 6.A criminal complaint indicates that Milwaukee police were first contacted on Sept. 18 at a store on Howell Avenue. MICHAEL MOORE DEMANDS NATIONWIDE BOYCOTT OF WALGREENS FOR NOT SELLING ABORTION PILL: ‘BIGOTRY AND MISOGYNY’Officers spoke that morning with the store manager who told them that a « thief » entered the store around 7:40 a.m. and began « removing soaps, cosmetics and toilet paper and placing the items into a backpack. The defendant then walked out of the store without paying for the merchandise. »The complaint states that the stolen items were approximately $178 in retail value.Officers were called to the same Walgreens location just two days later after another complaint of theft, this time with the defendant « removing razors, lotions and other cosmetic items and placing them into two bags, » the complaint says. London was injured on the play, forcing Hodge to come off the bench and into the game in London’s place. The touchdown pass went to him on the very next play. The Falcons emerged victorious in a game between two teams representing states severely impacted by Hurricane Helene. Georgia and Florida are among the states most devastated by Helene’s destruction.
