SEAN HANNITY: President Biden abdicated America’s role as the leader of the free world

[ad_1]

Fox News host Sean Hannity discusses President Biden’s leadership as some call for him to step aside on « Hannity. » SEAN HANNITY: Everything is now worse under this administration. The one thing nobody can run on: are you better off than you were four years ago? I’m talking about Biden inflation, record violent crime, even the Secret Service now facing a massive, and rightly so, crisis of confidence. …Make no mistake, Biden should be his party’s nominee. We are all suffering because of it.

Democrat godfathers make Biden offer they hope he can’t refuse

[ad_1]

Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and the rest of the Democratic Party commission seem prepared to make Joe Biden an offer he can’t refuse: One way or another, he’s dropping out of this race, they say, either with his consent or with his legacy destroyed.Just when Biden thought his candidacy was safe, after the assassination attempt on Donald Trump quieted talk of a swap at the top of the ticket, they pulled him back in, and now the pundits tell us that his campaign won’t survive the weekend. We’ll see.For the bosses of the Democrat family, ending Biden’s political career is a three-step process. First they ask him to leave, then they tell him to leave, and finally they threaten to destroy him if he won’t wise up. We are almost at step three.SOURCES CLOSE TO BIDEN ‘FURIOUS’ ABOUT GROWING CALLS TO GET HIM TO EXIT RACEThe advantages of step one are very clear. Had Biden selflessly and magnanimously put his own interests aside for the betterment of the party, if not the country, by dropping out, he might have seen the kind of double-digit approval bounce Lyndon Baines Johnson got in 1968. That boost would accrue to the benefit of the new candidate, likely Kamala Harris.\Likewise, he would secure his legacy as the caretaker president who saved the nation from the evils of the Trump Family and bestowed power upon the new, young generation. That ship has sailed now, and we are squarely on step two. But Biden has already rejected team Obama when they told him, « that’s a nice legacy you got there. It’d be a shame if something happened to it. »The threats from the editorial boards of The New York Times and Chicago Tribune, the consiglieres of the Democratic Party, have been ignored by an obstinate sitting president who for some reason, thinks he’s in charge. Now Biden seems poised to wake up with a bloody equine head in his bed, and the Democrats have no shortage of horses to choose from. Perhaps the tape of his interview with special counsel Robert Hur will be released. If the audio wasn’t humiliating to Biden, we would have it already, so not for nothing, it can’t be good. Attorney General Merrick Garland could have a sudden change of heart. These things happen. Then there is his prodigal son, Hunter, who hopes to beat the rap and go legit with his art career. If Joe declines to run, there is no reason he can’t pardon the family Fredo, especially after the election, win or lose. Finally, there is the 25th amendment, the ultimate play, in which Democrats would remove Biden from office, his legacy in tatters. He would be the only president ever kicked out of office for losing his marbles.Basically, the Democrats have politely asked Joe, Jill and Hunter to leave the establishment. Soon the door will lock, and they will hear the words, « now youse can’t leave, » before the punches start flying. So the Democrats don’t lack the cards to get Joe off the ticket, but at the same time, the big guy is not without his own moves. If he chooses not to go gently into the night, if he refuses to endorse Kamala Harris, then the Dems have a whole new contested convention headache.Biden could also flip and turn state’s evidence, spilling tea on the Democrat’s family secrets, essentially burning down the party trying to throw him under the bus.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONNo, this is still up to Joe, even if he is mumbling and drooling as he stumbles around in his bathrobe. He is still the boss for now, and if an attempt to topple him fails, the Bidens will be taking care of all the family business. And if you think that isn’t possible, I’d ask you, now who’s being naive? The next few days will prove decisive, as Biden’s enemies reveal themselves. Can Joe Biden still hang on? Even win? Yeah, he can, and hell hath no fury like a boss betrayed. Will Joe leave the presidency and take the cannolis? We will know soon, and either way, it could change everything in the race just three months from the finish line.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FROM DAVID MARCUS

Donald Trump appears to a be a changed man. And that’s a big deal for both Republicans and Democrats

[ad_1]

Donald J. Trump is different. His close brush with death last Saturday has changed him. As he walked into the Finserv Forum on Monday night, the first night of the GOP convention in Milwaukee, the former president was quite clearly moved by the roar of the crowd; he looked on the verge of tears. As he watched his granddaughter Kai speak on Wednesday, he was beaming from ear to ear, clearly proud as a peacock that this beautiful young woman had asked if she could speak the truth about her grandfather – what a caring and involved person he was, and how much she loved him.And on Thursday, the last night of the convention, Trump was smiling like a kid as Hulk Hogan roared and blustered, and again when a young granddaughter came to sit on his lap. This is a Donald Trump we have never seen before. His guard was down; he was genuinely having fun, grateful perhaps to be alive.Nothing could be more important for Candidate Trump, who has been vilified by the media for years and cast as a cartoonish, ghoulish villain. Trump emerged from the Republican convention a relatable human being, perhaps for the first time.DONALD TRUMP OFFICIALLY ACCEPTS GOP NOMINATION FOR POTUS, RECOUNTS ASSASSINATION ATTEMPTAt the end of four buoyant, heartfelt and sometimes electrifying days, the Republican Party gathering came together to embrace their nominee and now officially their candidate for president of the United States. The crowd enthusiastically welcomed the arrival of former first lady Melania Trump, and also the warm-up speakers, shouting « four more years » with Eric Trump, rocking with Kid Rock, praying with Franklin Graham and fist-pumping with Hulk Hogan. But the highlight of the night was finally hearing from Donald Trump, who just a few days earlier had nearly been killed by a young man with a rifle, and who thanked God for his deliverance from that near-miss. In the hours after the shooting, the former president said he had torn up the « very tough » speech he had intended to deliver, and instead would be addressing the nation on the importance of bringing the country together. That he did, at first. His early prepared remarks were pitch perfect for the moment. He talked about what he experienced at the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where he was nearly assassinated, and called for a moment of silence for Corey Comperatore, the volunteer fire chief who was tragically killed shielding his family from the bullets.TRUMP DID SOMETHING HE’S NEVER DONE BEFORE WITH RNC SPEECH. NOW, THE ELECTION MAY ALREADY BE OVERHe brought, as he said, « a message of confidence, strength, and hope. » He promised the crowd that « Four months from now, we will have an incredible victory, and we will begin the four greatest years in the history of our country. » Further, he told his fellow Republicans, « I am running to be president for ALL of America, not half of America, because there is no victory in winning for half of America. » At a time when our country appears hopelessly divided, and when the nation’s political rhetoric has become dangerously hot, it is a message voters want to hear. That was also true four years ago, when Joe Biden promised to bring the country together. That he has failed to deliver on that promise makes Trump’s pledge even more meaningful.Trump promised to resurrect the American Dream and to bring back common sense. He vowed on Day One of his administration to rebuild our energy independence and to secure our border. He declared he would end the push for electric vehicles and slammed the UAW leadership for embracing policies which could harm their workers. He promised prosperity for the middle class. He spoke about the future with enthusiasm and optimism.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONBut, as he is wont to do, he went well beyond his teleprompter remarks…way beyond. Some wag tweeted: When they said « four more years, » Trump misunderstood. He could not help himself. In addition to touting the many achievements of his presidency, he attacked the numerous failures and general incompetence of the current « administration. » He had vowed he would not mention the current president by name, but slipped up once, saying the damage done by Joe Biden was « unthinkable. » He spoke too long, went over the same issues too many times, and left his « unity » message hanging by a thread. My view: he deserved to do whatever he wanted. This was his moment and it was his prerogative. Donald Trump has been through so much in the past several years: the dishonest paid-for Russia hoax, the impeachments, the bogus lawfare, the indictments and constant, relentless attacks from the establishment, the media and his political opponents. If he wanted to ramble on for an extra 20 minutes, who cares? The convention audience did not care. They were with him throughout, happy to remember and celebrate the years when he was in the Oval Office and inflation was low, the border was secure, the world was at peace, we achieved energy independence and the economy was strong. This was, overall, a Republican convention for the ages – inspirational, moving, and well-organized. The many GOP speakers reveal a deep and promising bench for the future. The ordinary Americans who contributed their life stories, their tragedies and victories, touched all who heard them.If the campaign is as intelligently managed as the convention, Donald Trump may well become our next president.CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM LIZ PEEK

Trump preaches unity as he accepts GOP presidential nomination days after surviving assassination attempt

[ad_1]

MILWAUKEE – Five days after surviving an assassination attempt, former President Trump pleaded for national unity as he formally accepted the GOP presidential nomination during the culminating moment of the 2024 Republican National Convention. »I am running to be president for all of America, not half of America, because there is no victory in winning for half of America, » Trump emphasized as he addressed the thousands of delegates, party officials and activists packed into Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum and to the national audience of Americans watching the convention from home. »The discord and division in our society must be healed. As Americans, we are bound together by a single fate and a shared destiny. We rise together. Or we fall apart, » the former president noted. The shooting, at Trump’s rally Saturday in western Pennsylvania where one spectator was killed, along with the gunman, instantly impacted the tone and message of the convention, and as Trump has acknowledged, altered his convention address.MCCARTHY SAYS TRUMP SHOWING ‘REAL LEADERSHIP’ TO THE WORLD AFTER ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT »Let me begin this evening by expressing my gratitude to the American people for your outpouring of love and support following the assassination attempt at my rally on Saturday, » Trump said. « As you already know, the assassin’s bullet came within a quarter of an inch of taking my life. » The former president and GOP presidential nominee said that « so many people have asked me what happened, and therefore, I’ll tell you what happened. » « You’ll never hear it from me a second time, because it’s too painful to tell, » he said. Trump recounted the shooting, saying he knew « we were under attack. »  Trump praised the « very brave Secret Service agents who rushed to the stage and pounced on top of me for protection. » « There was blood pouring everywhere, and yet, in a certain way, I felt very safe, because I had God on my side, » Trump said. « The amazing thing is that prior to the shot, if I had NOT moved my head at the very last instant, the assassin’s bullet would have perfectly hit its mark, and I would not be with you tonight. » « I am not supposed to be here tonight. I stand before you in this arena only by the grace of almighty God. Many people say it was a providential moment, » Trump said. But the crowd chanted: « Yes you are. Yes you are. » And he acknowledged that « none of us knows God’s plan, or where life’s adventure will take us. But if the events of last Saturday make anything clear, it is that every single moment we have on earth is a gift from God. We have to make the most of every day for the people and country we love. »EMOTIONAL TRIBUTE TO COREY COMPERATORE DURING RNC SPEECH: ‘SPIRIT THAT FORGED AMERICA’Trump also pointed to the helmet and firefighting jacket of Corey Comperatore, the former fire chief killed at the rally, which were placed on the stage by the former president. And he asked the audience to observe a moment of silence. He said he has raised more than $6 million in recent days for Comperatore’s family, and the families of the two men who were seriously wounded in the shooting. The former president also took time to thank his wife, former first lady Melania Trump. « On this journey, I am deeply honored to be joined by my amazing wife, Melania, » Trump told the crowd in Milwaukee during an emotional speech. He then referred to her letter to America, in which she called for unity in the wake of the assassination attempt against her husband. »I am thinking of you, now, my fellow Americans, » she wrote. « Dawn is here again. Let us reunite. Now. »The former president praised the letter. »And Melania, thank you very much. You also did something really beautiful. A letter to America calling for national unity. And it really took the Republican Party by surprise. I will tell you, it was beautiful,’ he said. »Some very serious people said that we should take that letter and put it as part of the Republican platform. That would be an honor, wouldn’t it? »The former president also thanked his family, especially his children and grandchildren. But in the wake of his brush with death, the former president called for a lowering of the temperature in a political climate seared with heated rhetoric from both the right and the left. »In an age when our politics too often divide us, now is the time to remember that we are all fellow citizens—we are one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all, » Trump stressed. »We must not criminalize dissent or demonize political disagreement. In that spirit, the Democrat Party should immediately stop weaponizing the Justice System and labeling their political opponent as an enemy of democracy, especially since that is not true, » Trump claimed.Making a pitch « to every citizen, whether you are young or old, man or woman, Democrat, Republican, or Independent, black or white, Asian or Hispanic, » Trump repeatedly criticized the administration of the Democratic incumbent in the White House, but only mentioned President Biden’s name once. « They will not have done the damage that Biden has done, only going to use the term once, » Trump said. « Biden. I’m not going to use the name anymore. Just one time. » LIVE UPDATES: REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTIONPointing to inflation, the crisis at the nation’s southern border with Mexico, and the ongoing wars in Ukraine and in Gaza, Trump argued that « it is time for a change. We simply cannot sustain four more years of this administration. »Trump reminded his supporters that the MAGA movement « has never been about me, it has always been about you. » « It has always been about the hardworking, patriotic citizens of America, » he said. Trump was joined on the podium following his address by his family and by his running mate Sen. JD Vance, and the senator from Ohio’s family. The former president announced on Monday as the convention kicked off that the 39-year-old Vance, a one-time Trump critic who has transformed into a leading America First disciple, would serve as his running mate. »I am thrilled to have a new friend and partner fighting by my side: the next Vice President of the United States, the current Senator from Ohio, J.D. Vance, and his incredible wife, Usha, » Trump said minutes earlier as he gave a shout-out during his address to his running mate.CLICK HERE FOR THE LATEST FOX NEWS UPDATES FROM THE GOP CONVENTIONRepublicans used their convention as a venue to reunite the party and energize delegates and activists ahead of the final stretch of the campaign in Trump’s 2024 election rematch with Biden. The push for party unity was on display throughout the convention and included former GOP presidential rivals Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida and former U.N. ambassador and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley – who both battled Trump in a contentious primary season – delivering speeches from the podium in support of the former president. The Biden campaign took aim at Trump, Vance, and Republicans as the GOP convention wrapped up. »Over the course of the last four days Republicans have offered their vision for the country. And now it’s never been more clear that Americans will face a stark choice, a contrasting vision for this country, » Biden principal deputy campaign manager Quentin Fulks emphasized. »The Biden-Harris ticket who’s focused on uniting the country, creating opportunity for everyone, and lowering costs or the Trump-Vance one – with a harmful agenda of taking away Americans’ rights, hurting the middle class, and making life more expensive – all while benefiting the ultra-rich and greedy corporations benefit, » Fulks argued.Trump’s convention address comes less than two months after he was convicted of 34 felony counts in the first criminal trial of a former or current president in the nation’s history. But the Supreme Court ruled on the issue of presidential immunity–a question stemming from charges brought against Trump by Special Counsel Jack Smith. The high court ruled that a president is immune from « official acts. » Trump is using that Supreme Court precedent in an effort to overturn the verdict and appeal. A judge delayed Trump’s possible sentencing until September. Last month, though, Biden severely stumbled with a disastrous debate performance against Trump, which has led to a rising chorus of calls from within the Democratic Party for the president to end his 2024 re-election bid and bow out of the race.Reports over the past 24 hours indicated that top Democrats – including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi – have had frank conversations with Biden about him ending his campaign. And as Trump delivered his convention address, speculation was rampant that the president could bow out of the 2024 election within days. But Biden campaign spokesman TJ Ducklo told Fox News Digital those reports are « entirely inaccurate. » And another Biden aide tells Fox News Digital that Biden « is more committed than ever to winning this election. » Get the latest updates from the 2024 campaign trail, exclusive interviews and more at our Fox News Digital election hub.

Sources close to Biden ‘furious’ about growing calls to get him to exit race: report

[ad_1]

People close to President Biden are « furious » that a pressure campaign calling for him to step aside is picking up speed, according to reports. Biden is self-isolating in Rehoboth, Delaware, after testing positive for COVID-19. « Lots of anger toward some donors for talking of $ drying up if he doesn’t quit, toward what they see as muted support from Pres. Obama, and toward Dem leaders who one source says are ‘hiding’ behind statements, » CBS News reporter Robert Costa posted on X. « If they want him out, they’ll have to push, source adds. »TRUMP CAMPAIGN ON BIDEN TURMOIL: ‘DEMOCRATS CAN’T EVEN FIGURE OUT WHO THEIR NOMINEE SHOULD BE’Costa added that Biden feels « disrespected » but that no one has figured out « an effective way to quiet this drift of nervous Democrats away from Biden and know many Dems want Biden to just break at some point soon. »Multiple Democrats have come out in recent weeks to call for Biden to exit the race amid questions about his health. Sources told Fox News that Biden’s COVID-19 diagnosis has forced him to slow down for a period of reflection. Democratic House and Senate members sense there’s a shift in Biden’s thinking that he will remain at the top of the ticket, the source said.

Key Largo tree cactus no longer exists in US: ‘My eyes bugged out’

[ad_1]

A tropical cactus that was once found in the Florida Keys no longer exists in the United States, save for some conservation collections, a field biologist told Fox News Digital this week. The Key Largo tree cactus was wiped out by rising sea levels in the region, among other factors, according to Jennifer Possley, who wrote about its demise in a paper published earlier this month in the Journal of the Botanical Research Institute of Texas.Possley is director of regional conservation at Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden in Coral Gables, Florida, near Miami. She’s part of a group of scientists and researchers who collectively have studied the species since it was first discovered at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park in 1992.FLORIDA TREASURE HUNTERS AMAZED BY DISCOVERY IN 300-YEAR-OLD SHIPWRECKS: ‘YOU DON’T EXPECT THAT' »Which sounds crazy in some ways, » Possley told Fox News Digital, considering the Key Largo tree cactus was two stories tall and as wide as a few cars. « But it was in a super isolated area in this pocket within some tall mangroves, » she said. « So nobody in their right mind would have walked past it. »Nobody knows for sure how long the Key Largo tree cactus had been there, but Possley said it was likely decades and « could have been there for 100 years. »The Florida Keys is home to at least eight species of cacti, and sea-level rise is a known threat to many rare plant populations there, according to the paper.FLORIDA-DISCOVERED SNAIL SPECIES FOUND NEAR JIMMY BUFFET’S MARGARITAVILLA: SEE THE MARGARITA-COLORED CREATUREIn 2007, when Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden helped Florida’s state parks monitor the cacti population, the Key Largo tree cactus – known by its scientific name « Pilosocereus millspaughii » – was « doing great, » Possley said. « And it did great for a few years. »By 2012, Possley said, it « had started to go downhill a little bit, but nothing alarming. »However, by 2015, it was clear to Possley and the others that « something was eating the cactus. » »My eyes bugged out because [there were] extensive marks and damage to the point where it killed a lot of the plant, » she said.Although it should have recovered, Possley said, the cactus continued to decline – the result of some major hurricanes and « king tides. »By 2019, « there was actually salt water lapping at the roots of the plants, which we had never seen before, » Possley said.In July 2023, it became apparent the Key Largo tree cactus would not survive, Possley said. « Its decline and ensuing extirpation correspond with rising sea levels in the region, » the paper said.LOCAL DENGUE FEVER CASES CONFIRMED IN FLORIDA KEYS, SPREAD BY MOSQUITO BITES »The other cacti in the region, and all rare plants in the Florida Keys, are threatened with a similar fate. »But it’s unfair to solely blame sea-level rise, Possley clarified. »We really think that the reason this cactus has disappeared was from a combination of events, including sea-level rise, » she said. « And the herbivory was certainly part of that. The passing hurricanes were also definitely contributors. »CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR LIFESTYLE NEWSLETTERPossley said the Key Largo tree cactus « is probably not going to be the first species we lose to the complications from sea-level rise. » She said there are « quite a few plants » in the Keys that are « significantly imperiled. » »This was a really cool species that we could claim as part of our botanical heritage here in South Florida, » she said. « And it’s gone. »For more Lifestyle articles, visit www.foxnews.com/lifestyleAlthough it has vanished from the U.S. ecosystem, the Key Largo tree cactus is technically not extinct. It lives on in coastal areas of Cuba and the Bahamas, as well as in conservation collections like the one at Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden, Possley noted.

Pelosi told Biden he’ll lose to Trump and take down House based on polls: report

[ad_1]

The walls appear to be closing in on President Biden’s re-election campaign.Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., reportedly told President Biden in a phone call that polls are showing he cannot defeat former President Trump in November and that him staying in the race could destroy Democrats’ chances of taking the House in November. The phone call marked the second time Pelosi and Biden spoke since the president’s disastrous debate performance against former President Trump on June 27, according to a CNN report Thursday citing four sources briefed on the call. The sources also told CNN that the former speaker did not tell Biden to drop out of the race. The report came just hours before the Washington Post reported that former President Barack Obama told his allies in recent days that he believes President Biden needs to reconsider his candidacy. ADAM SCHIFF CALLS ON BIDEN TO EXIT PRESIDENTIAL RACE AS DEM CONFIDENCE DWINDLESIn terms of the Pelosi call, President Biden responded by pushing back, telling Pelosi he has seen polls that indicate he can win, one source told the outlet. Another one of the sources described Biden as getting defensive about the polls and that at one point, Pelosi asked Mike Donilon, Biden’s longtime adviser, to get on the line to talk over the data.It is unclear when exactly the call took place, but one CNN source says it was held within the last week. Pelosi and Biden also spoke in early July.A spokesperson for Pelosi tells Fox News Digital that the congresswoman would not comment on private conversations with the president. « Speaker Pelosi respects the confidentiality of her meetings and conversations with the President of the United States. Sadly, the feeding frenzy from the press based on anonymous sources misrepresents any conversations the Speaker may have had with the President, » the spokesperson said in a statement. Fox News Digital reached out to the White House for comment but did not immediately receive a response.Pelosi is a longtime Biden ally. She led House Democrats for the entirety of Biden’s two terms as vice president and served as House speaker for the first two years of his presidency, ushering major pieces of Biden’s agenda through Congress, including the American Rescue Plan and bipartisan infrastructure law.In the wake of the debate, Pelosi said she would support whatever the president decided to do, although several reports indicate that she was encouraging lawmakers to continue to put pressure on Biden to reconsider his decision to run for re-election.PELOSI ‘CONVINCED BIDEN WILL LOSE,’ WORKING THE PHONES WITH HOPES TO ‘EASE HIM OFF THE TICKET,’ REPORT SAYSPresident Biden has faced mounting calls to step aside after his disastrous debate performance against former president Trump and Biden’s campaign has been in disarray ever since. Biden’s campaign had believed that the attempted assassination of Trump, in which he sustained a wound to the right ear, had tamped down calls for him to step aside. But on Wednesday, influential Democratic California Rep. Adam Schiff called on President Biden to drop out, telling Fox News Digital in a statement that he has « serious concerns about whether the President can defeat Donald Trump in November. »Reuters, citing a top White House source with direct knowledge of the matter, reported earlier today that Pelosi backed Schiff’s call for Biden to drop out of the race, although her office did not address the report when asked by Fox News Digital. Schiff and Pelosi both represent California districts in the House. »Nancy is all over this. She doesn’t miss. Schiff wouldn’t move without her approval, » the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Reuters.Last week, a number of House Democrats told The Hill that Pelosi was advising members in their conference against rallying to Biden before there is a broader discussion over whether he is the best candidate to defeat Trump. « I did have a conversation with her, she is very concerned, » one House Democratic lawmaker told The Hill. « It’s not like she’s like, ‘We’re sticking with this guy.' »Fox News’ Brian Flood and Chris Pandolfo, as well as Reuters contributed to this report.

Trump shooter’s Discord presence suggests Thomas Crooks’ preference for anonymity, experts say

[ad_1]

The 20-year-old loner who attempted to assassinate former President Trump on Saturday had an account on the encrypted Discord app, a sign that he preferred anonymous interactions to real-world relationships, experts told Fox News Digital.A spokesperson for the platform confirmed that Thomas Matthew Crooks had an account and that it had been deactivated by Discord after the assassination attempt that wounded Trump and killed a rally attendee. »It was rarely utilized, has not been used in months, and we have found no evidence that it was used to plan this incident, promote violence or discuss his political views, » the spokesperson said. « Discord strongly condemns violence of any kind, including political violence, and we will continue to coordinate closely with law enforcement. »Fox News learned late Wednesday that Crooks wrote an ominous message on the gaming platform Steam, « July 13 will be my premiere, watch as it unfolds. » His laptop also had searches in early July for Trump, Biden, when is DNC convention, and July 13 Trump rally.LEAKER OF CLASSIFIED US INTELLIGENCE WORKS ON MILITARY BASE, POSTED DOCUMENTS ON DISCORD: REPORTRetired FBI agent and behavior analysis expert Jim Clemente said the Discord community is especially popular with gamers and that Crooks’ usage comes as no surprise. »It’s encrypted, so it does provide a level of privacy and anonymity, » he said. « So, somebody who might feel disenfranchised, a loner who felt bullied, those kinds of people, it’s very common for them to spend more time online interacting with others rather than the real world because their experiences with the real world are so negative. »Crooks, who graduated from Bethel Park High School in Pennsylvania in 2022, was relentlessly bullied over his appearance and awkward social graces, classmates have told numerous outlets. One peer said he would often sit alone during lunch and was teased without mercy. »It doesn’t surprise me that he has a Discord account and not a Facebook account, which is very interactive and image-based and extremely social, » Clemente said. « Discord is a more private way to communicate. »TRUMP SHOOTER MADE HOME DEPOT VISIT PRIOR TO ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT: REPORTFormer FBI profiler Mary Ellen O’Toole also highlighted Discord’s popularity with avid video game players and said Crooks may well have been a regular gamer. »It’s fantasy life, » she said. « They get lost in it, and it makes them feel like a big man. If he were really active, that would be one thing, but the fact that he wasn’t, we just don’t know much about him. He’s the kind of person you’d walk right past without even blinking. He was so nondescript. »O’Toole also noted that Crooks appeared to have a very limited social media footprint. »If you’re bullied in reality in school, you wouldn’t risk being bullied online, » she said. « It’s called social media for a reason. You’re relating to other people in a society, and this kid was a loner and possibly because he was bullied so badly from the way he looked, the way he dressed. »TRUMP SAYS HE WAS ‘SHOT WITH A BULLET’ IN ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT AT PENNSYLVANIA RALLYO’Toole said young people who are outwardly mute are often raging internally. »It’s the quiet ones you have to worry about because you don’t know what they’re thinking, » she said. « That statement really applies to this situation. The bureau has his computers. They got his phone. His parents have been very cooperative. If he’s the kind of person who wrote down his thoughts in any way, it’s going to come out. »Clemente said his parents – both counselors – appeared oblivious to the level of his inner torment.Crooks, he said, was likely aware that he would not emerge from the incident alive. »I believe he knew he would not survive this event, and he wanted to make the biggest possible splash in the process, » he said. « I do know that he probably felt it was fortuitous that an opportunity presented itself so close to home that he was able to take advantage of it. »TRUMP SHOOTER THOMAS MATTHEW CROOKS’ PARENTS REGISTERED PENNSYLVANIA PROFESSIONAL COUNSELORS: RECORDSCrooks opened fire from a rooftop at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, clipping Trump’s right ear and killing volunteer fire chief Corey Comperatore.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPTwo other people were injured before Secret Service agents shot and killed Crooks.Fox News Digital’s Louis Casiano contributed to this report.

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, other top anchors not in Milwaukee for RNC, using LED screen to appear they’re on site

[ad_1]

Rachel Maddow and other top MSNBC hosts have been using an LED screen to cover the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee from the liberal network’s studio in New York City, according to a report.Maddow, who has been leading the network’s coverage of the GOP convention this week, has repeatedly appeared on air with the backdrop of the convention behind her, leading casual viewers to assume she was on the ground in Milwaukee. But Maddow and many of her colleagues, including Nicolle Wallace, Jen Psaki, Joy Reid and other MSNBC anchors have not been inside the convention hall or even in the same city, the New York Times reported Wednesday. »Instead, they were broadcasting from a studio in Midtown Manhattan, as a live feed of the convention floor was projected onto an LED screen behind them, » the Times report reads.MSNBC WEEKLY VIEWERSHIP HITS 2024 LOW DURING TIME OF CRISIS FOR BIDEN »The arrangement — which several veteran television news producers described as unorthodox — has created something of a trompe l’oeil effect. A casual glance at the screen would suggest that MSNBC’s top anchors were covering the convention in person, » the article continues, using a French phrase referring to highly realistic-looking but visually deceptive artwork.MSNBC did previously announce last week that Maddow and other top political anchors would not travel to Milwaukee for the convention. Instead, the network sent Stephanie Ruhle, who hosts « The 11th Hour, » and daytime host Katy Tur, per the Times.MADDOW SAYS BIDEN’S TEAM MAY BE GIVING HIM ‘POLLS NOT BASED IN REALITY’ CONVINCING HIM TO STAY IN THE RACEA number of reporters and correspondents from NBC News were sent to Milwaukee for live reporting, including « Today » host Savannah Guthrie, « Nightly News » host Lester Holt and correspondent Jacob Soboroff, who clashed with Donald Trump Jr. during an interview on the convention floor in an exchange that went viral. MSNBC is NBC’s left-leaning cable arm. While the New York City-based MSNBC anchors did not tell viewers that they were in Milwaukee during live broadcasting, « they have mentioned their location sparingly throughout many hours of evening coverage, » according to the Times report. An MSNBC spokesman told the Times that at « the top of every broadcast, hosts identify themselves as being in New York or at MSNBC headquarters. » But critics say the live video feed of a bustling convention behind them sends a different impression to viewers tuning in throughout the night. »News organizations need to be very careful and very transparent about what they represent and how they represent it, » former CNN Washington bureau chief Frank Sesno told the Times. « It can feel like a frivolous thing — oh, well, gee, we’re just using the pictures behind them — but there’s something profoundly important here. If news organizations don’t represent where they are clearly, then how is the audience to have faith and confidence in the actual content of the reporting? »LIVE UPDATES: REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTIONMaddow began the 7 p.m. ET broadcast Monday saying that she and her colleagues were « at MSNBC headquarters. About two hours later, she told a correspondent that ‘we say hi here from MSNBC HQ in New York.’ On Tuesday at 8 p.m., Chris Hayes welcomed viewers by saying, ‘Good evening from New York,' » the report stated. At one point Monday, a side-by-side box on NBC of Guthrie and Psaki, on the parent network to give analysis, suggested to viewers that both were on-site, but only Guthrie was actually in Wisconsin. The MSNBC spokesperson replied « no » when asked by the Times whether he feels the LED screen could be misleading. While the Times does not attribute the anchors’ absence at the convention to financial constraints, it did note the steep price tag that comes with covering the event live and how several networks cut back on their convention coverage plans compared to 2016.Former President Trump will officially accept the 2024 Republican nomination on Thursday.MSNBC did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Secret Service equity director says DEI agenda is a ‘mission imperative,’ the ‘ultimate goal’

[ad_1]

The director of equity at the Secret Service calls it a « mission imperative » and the « ultimate goal » to spread DEI within the agency, with the agency hosting seminars on « respectful use of pronouns. » The executive director of the Secret Services’ Office of Equity Loucious Hires III discussed diversity, equity and inclusion, « a topic that is difficult for some to talk about, » on the official government podcast « Standing Post » in February 2023. The agency said it was striving to be the « gold standard » of DEI in a recruitment brochure that same year. During the podcast, the equity director outlined how every action at the Secret Service should be informed by DEI and claimed the ideology makes the organization stronger. Every employee should consider how every action is reflective of equity, according to the director. « I could talk on and on what the agency is doing to promote diversity, equity and inclusion… DEI is every action every day, » he said. « So the opportunity for improvement for every employee within the Secret Service is to ask themselves, ‘What action are you doing every day?’ » BIDEN CLAIMED TRUMP WAS A ‘DICTATOR,’ ‘PUTIN’S PUPPY’ THE DAY BEFORE ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT »Part of the things that we need to continue to do more is to be open and speak openly about diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility. And when every one of us within this agency can say this is a mission imperative, then we have achieved our ultimate goal, » he said during the podcast. The Secret Service established a group of the agency’s « Game Changers » to form the « Inclusion Engagement Council » (IEC). »The IEC’s collective duty is to help the Secret Service build, foster, create, and inspire a workforce where diversity and inclusion is not just ‘talked about’ — but demonstrated by all employees through ‘Every Action, Every Day,’ » the Secret Service’s website says. The IEC wants to go beyond pushing for equal employment opportunities, to change the culture « outside the agency’s mandated requirements. » « Having a diverse workforce enhances cross-cultural awareness. A successful organization is a cohesive one, where all members have mutual respect for each other’s diversity and culture, » the Secret Service said on its website. DEMOCRAT PUSH TO REPLACE BIDEN IS ‘OVER’ AFTER TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT, PRESIDENT’S ALLIES SAY: REPORTAndrew « Drew » Cannady, a supervisory attorney-advisor for the Secret Service’s Office of Chief Counsel, explained how the agency has been going to Pride events to recruit candidates and has seen more transgender people in the service as a result. « We like every other organization. We benefit from diversity. And I actually am seeing more openly… trans recruits out of the training center, law enforcement recruits, which is great, » Cannady said on the agency podcast in 2022. Cannady provides advice and counsel on personnel, human resources, security clearance and other employment law matters at the agency. He said the Secret Service has put on programming to educate its workforce on how to use pronouns. « We will put on things during Unity Day, which, you know, for listeners, is the annual day of the Secret Service, where we celebrate various groups… that the Secret Service has in its workforce. And, you know, during that, we’ve hosted things like a seminar on the respectful use of pronouns, to sort of try to educate the workforce, » he said. « Because some of this stuff, you know, is cutting edge and new and people that just may not be familiar with it. » »We’re going to have, I think, a Secret Service booth at Capitol Pride here in D.C. We’re going to do something in Atlanta and New York. It’s really a chance for us to be physically present at these Pride events. And, you know, people who might be curious about law enforcement or the Secret Service can come talk to members of the community and really get our experience with it. So I’m really excited about it, » he added. The Secret Service did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The Secret Service has been heavily criticized for its failure to prevent former President Trump from being shot during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, last weekend. Many Republican lawmakers have called for Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle to resign. She was appointed by President Biden to lead the Secret Service in 2022, making her only the second woman to ever lead the agency. Prior to this role, Cheatle served as senior director of global security at PepsiCo, where she was responsible for directing and implementing security protocols for the company’s facilities in North America.Critics have accused Cheatle of prioritizing « woke » ideologies rooted in DEI instead of only focusing on hiring the best for the agency. While at the Secret Service, Cheatle has stressed the importance of increasing diversity in the Secret Service. »Strategy is focused on achieving excellence through talent, technology and diversity, » Cheatle said about the agency’s strategic plan 2023-27. « I am very conscious… that we need to attract diverse candidates …and particularly women, » she said in a CBS interview, which reported the agency was looking to increase women recruits to 30% of their workforce. According to the agency’s website, Cheatle is responsible for executing the agency’s integrated mission of « protection and investigations by leading a diverse workforce. » Despite growing calls to step down over the attack, which killed one rally attendee and critically injured two others, Cheatle said she will not resign.

GREG GUTFELD: How much longer can Joe hold out?

[ad_1]

So, the more the outside world notices how senile Biden is, the more he retreats from reality. Lucky for him, that’s a very short walk. According to the New York Times, Old Joe isn’t consulting with any of his advisers or staff anymore. His cell phone rings and rings, but Joe keeps trying to answer a banana. True, Biden’s inner circle is tighter than a meerkat’s butthole. Don’t ask me how I know. He needed a suppository. Apparently, he’s down to a tiny group of loyalists, including his son and wife. The fate of the world hangs in the balance, and the people in charge are a substitute teacher and a guy who snorts grated cheese. I guess Bert and Ernie were all tied up. But hey, why listen to the advisers in a crisis, when you can rely on a convicted felon who smokes crack like it’s brisket in North Carolina? The Biden’s are running the government like their sex lives: they prefer relatives. So, as Joe Biden’s brain shrinks like Jesse Watters’ package in a swimming pool, so do his allies, and he closes himself off from facts that upset him. Like, Mr. President, your polls are awful. Your uncle wasn’t eaten by cannibals. And, Joe, you have applesauce in your eyebrows. Biden is so desperate he’s now targeting the Supreme Court, finalizing a proposal that includes term limits for the judges. Biden talking about term limits? It’s like Stormy Daniels talking about sperm limits. I blame that on Joe Mackey. It’s not likely to pass in Congress, but if it did, where does the appeal go? Back to the Supreme Court? So do they decide if they get to fire themselves? That’s like the president deciding that he doesn’t have dementia. Meanwhile, during a speech at the convention for the NAACP, Joe lied about the George Floyd riots, calling them peaceful protests.JOE BIDEN: And if you peacefully protested George Floyd’s murder, Donald Trump called for the National Guard to go after you. What the hell is the matter with this man?‘DEFENSIVE’ BIDEN LASHES OUT AT VULNERABLE DEMS WARNING OF NOVEMBER LOSSES: REPORTS$2 billion worth of damage is peaceful? That’s like saying Jonestown was just a slumber party. But once again, Joe lied. 19 people were killed in the first two weeks of the 2020 riots, and Trump called on the National Guard to quell the violence in Portland but Democratic leadership turned it down. But Joe doesn’t care because all he has left is race-baiting. And now he admits he ran as a transitional candidate but won’t leave because he didn’t expect it to be this divided.JOE BIDEN: Look, when I originally ran, you may remember I said I was going to be a transitional candidate. I thought that I’d be able to move from this, just pass it on to someone else. But I didn’t anticipate things getting so, so, so divided. He’s surprised by this division? He’s like an arsonist who didn’t expect it to get so hot. This guy s*** himself, both literally and figuratively. And now Biden also has a disastrous Zoom call with congressional Democrats over the weekend that was even worse than the debate. And I pissed out kidney stones that weren’t as bad as the debate. During the call, Biden yelled at Colorado Democrat Congressman Jason Crow, a veteran and former recipient of the Bronze Star, telling Crow, « Tell me who did something that you’ve never done with your Bronze Star, like my son. » What that has to do with anything not even Joe could explain to you. But that’s his default way to get out of a debate. No one wants to say to him, what does your dead son have to do with this? SCHUMER ‘FORCEFULLY’ TOLD BIDEN HE SHOULD DROP HIS RE-ELECTION BID: REPORTReportedly, the Zoom call made Democrats so angry, the only reason they didn’t lash out at Biden publicly was because less than an hour later, Trump was shot. You know your campaign is in deep trouble when your opponent almost getting assassinated can only help you. People were suddenly talking about Joe’s idiocy instead of his dementia. So, how much longer can Joe hold out? He’s supposed to debate Trump again on September 10th. Will he still be the candidate by then? Will he still even be the president by then? If you saw him crawling his way up the stairs of Air Force One today, you’d tell Covid, get out of him while you still can.

Senators confront Secret Service chief at Republican convention: ‘You owe President Trump answers’

[ad_1]

Republican senators confronted Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday over the attempted assassination of former President Trump on Saturday, telling her that they owe the people and the president « answers. »Video shows Sens. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., and John Barrasso, R-Wyo., confronting Cheatle in Milwaukee. Sens. James Lankford, R-Okla., and Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., were also involved. »Stonewalling, » Barrasso can be heard yelling at Cheatle as she moves through the convention center.HOUSE GOP LEADERS DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY ON TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT: ‘SO MANY QUESTIONS’ « This was an assassination attempt, you owe the people answers, you owe President Trump answers, » Blackburn said.In a separate longer video, the senators can be seen questioning Cheatle. In response to their questions, she says that it isn’t an appropriate place to have the discussion, but says she is happy to answer questions, before leaving the suite. It is at that point she is yelled at by the lawmakers. It comes amid furious criticism of the agency by Republicans and some Democrats over the circumstances surrounding the attempt on Trump’s life in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday. The shooter has been identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, and the FBI is investigating his specific motive.Trump was shot in the ear, but one attendee was killed and two others injured. Lawmakers have questioned how the gunman was able to get so close and fire off multiple shots, as details have emerged of people seeing him climb up the building.DISCORD REVEALS DETAILS OF WOULD-BE TRUMP ASSASSIN’S ACCOUNT ON PLATFORMFBI Director Christopher Wray held member-wide briefings with both the House and Senate on Wednesday to discuss lawmakers’ questions and concerns. Barrasso told Fox News earlier that the meeting was a « 100% cover-your-a—briefing. »Cheatle has agreed to comply with a subpoena from House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer. She has called the shooting « unacceptable » and « something that shouldn’t happen again. » »The buck stops with me, » she told ABC News. « I am the director of the Secret Service, and I need to make sure that we are performing a review and that we are giving resources to our personnel as necessary. »But she has come under criticism for comments she made talking about a « sloped roof » that caused a safety issue.TRUMP RALLY SHOOTING: HEART-STOPPING FOOTAGE SHOWS AUDIENCE MEMBERS NOTICING GUNMAN BEFORE SHOTS FIRED »That building in particular has a sloped roof, at its highest point. And so, there’s a safety factor that would be considered there that we wouldn’t want to put somebody up on a sloped roof. And so, the decision was made to secure the building, from inside, » she said. Her answers have so far failed to satisfy many Republican lawmakers, including Barrasso and Blackburn. »It is appalling that the Secret Service Director refused to answer our questions. This is one of the greatest security failures in the history of the agency. She can run but she cannot hide. She is a failed leader and she needs to immediately step down from her position, » Blackburn said in a statement.Fox News’ Liz Elkind and Aishah Hasnie contributed to this report.

JD Vance could give Millennials a seat at the senior citizen table of national politics

[ad_1]

Age is front-and-center on the ballot this November, with President Joe Biden 81 years old and in a cognitive nosedive, and Donald Trump a spritelier 78. But with Trump picking as his running mate JD Vance, who is exactly half his age, Millennials could finally have a representative among the senior citizens.Of course, as a Gen X-er myself, I can’t help but notice that our generation has been ignored again. Kamala Harris misses the traditional Gen X cutoff by a few months, and let’s be honest, she presents much more like a Boomer than a product of the « I want my MTV » generation. But, despite the Gen X snub, it is a relief to see a candidate young enough to understand the concerns of younger generations, but also old enough to have the requisite experience to be on the ballot.TRUMP TO HOLD INDOOR RALLY WITH JD VANCE ONE WEEK AFTER SURVIVING ASSASSINATION ATTEMPTWhile many still consider Millennials wet behind the ears, the youngest part of this cohort is nearing 30 and the oldest is in their early-to-mid 40s, depending on which definition you use. Millennials are active in the heart of our workforce. They must deal with the challenges of the economy and inflation, with credit card, auto and student loan debt, and are also struggling with the difficult environment for buying a home.Having their voices heard and represented by someone who isn’t more than twice their age and who has lived in circumstances and time periods that resemble their own should be a refreshing and welcome change for Millennials and even Gen Xers and older Gen Zers. Moreover, putting Vance on the ticket signals that the GOP’s future doesn’t lie with just the older members of the party. It’s a strategic move that communicates that the GOP is thinking ahead to 2028 and beyond.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONShould Trump defeat Biden, Vance would be poised to run for president as he turns 44 years old, which would be even younger than our last youthful president, Barack Obama, who was 47 years old at his inauguration. With more than half of the country’s wealth held by the Baby Boom generation, Social Security on the brink of insolvency, and the general weakness of the overall U.S. fiscal foundation, younger Americans are disheartened seeing people like Nancy Pelosi (84), Chuck Schumer (73), Mitch McConnell (82), and Biden making policy decisions they won’t have to live with. Even Kamala Harris, who turns 60 in October, isn’t seen as being young enough to be in touch with concerns over where the country is headed, whether decisions made today will create havoc in the future, and what that all means for younger Americans who are having more consternation about seizing the American Dream.Vance has a unique opportunity to bring a combination of wisdom and youth to bear and to help steer the U.S. in a direction that creates strength and opportunity, not just for today, but for the long-term. That « age » factor should be a positive one when Millennials cast their votes in November.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FROM CAROL ROTH

Afghan child remains in limbo after appeals court voids U.S. Marine’s adoption

[ad_1]

The future remains uncertain for a young Afghan child whose family was killed in a U.S. night raid in Afghanistan five years ago. A Virginia appellate court voided the adoption of the Afghan war orphan, nicknamed « Baby Doe » in court documents, by U.S. Marine Maj. Joshua Mast and his wife Stephanie Mast on Tuesday. The court determined Mast never should have been granted the adoption of Baby Doe, who has lived with Mast and his wife for three years now.  Baby Doe, who turns five this month, was orphaned following a U.S. raid that killed her family in Afghanistan in 2019. At 40-days-old, Baby Doe was found in the rubble with life-threatening injuries. The Afghan government and International Committee of the Red Cross determined Baby Doe had living relatives, and united her with them as required by international law. After an investigation, the Afghan government determined Baby Doe’s parents were neighboring farmers in the wrong place at the wrong time and not foreign fighters who were living in an al-Qaida compound targeted in the night raid. However, U.S. Marine attorney, Maj. Joshua Mast, caught wind of the case and he and his wife became determined to adopt Baby Doe and bring her into their family as an act of Christian faith.AFGHANISTAN’S SCHOOL YEAR BEGINS WITHOUT 1 MILLION GIRLS BARRED FROM EDUCATION BY TALIBANAfter hearing of the baby found in the rubble, Mast convinced a judge in rural Fluvanna County, Virginia to grant him an adoption of Baby Doe from 7,000 miles away, despite Baby Doe being cared for by her cousin and his wife. During the 2021 Afghan withdrawal chaos, Mast lured Baby Doe’s cousin and his wife to the U.S., promising medical care and an education for Baby Doe.The couple carrying Baby Doe, having narrowly escaped Taliban rule, met the Masts at Fort Pickett, Virginia where thousands of Afghan evacuees were brought. The Afghan couple wept in horror when then two-year-old Baby Doe was taken away by Mast. They had misunderstood the situation after being told by Mast and his wife that they wanted to help the young Afghan family adjust to life in America and get an education for Baby Doe.TIM SCOTT WARNS OF IRANIAN, AFGHAN ‘SLEEPER CELLS’ IN US DUE TO BORDER CRISISBaby Doe’s cousin and wife have since settled in Texas and continue to fight to get Baby Doe back in their custody. NCIS and the Navy IG have opened an investigation and gag orders have been issued on the two parties. The Defense Department said it cannot comment on the ongoing case. The Masts have insisted they acted « admirably » and are the legal parents to Baby Doe. The cousin and wife have not seen Baby Doe in nearly three years. The appellate court decision on Tuesday does not clarify who will raise the almost 5-year-old Afghan girl. She will remain living with the Mast family for now.AFGHANISTAN’S TALIBAN LEADERS ISSUED DIFFERENT MESSAGES FOR EID. EXPERTS SAY THAT SHOWS TENSIONSAppellate Judge Daniel Ortiz wrote in Tuesday’s order that Mast’s adoption does not fit the criteria required by state law. Ortiz said the procedural errors that led to the adoption were « so outside the scope of the adoption code » that the circuit court did not have the power to sign the adoption. From the initial adoption filing, Mast failed to inform the court that the Afghanistan government never gave up its claim to Baby Doe, and that she had been given to Afghan relatives.Several legal organizations working with the Afghan couple said they were encouraged by the court’s decision on Tuesday.National Center for Youth Law senior attorney Becky Wolozin told the Associated Press that by « clearly stating that the Masts have no legal rights over Baby Doe, the Court refused to legitimize their unlawful actions – actions which have led to profound and unnecessary suffering.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPThe Associated Press contributed to this report.

Whoopi Goldberg demands voters recognize ‘we’re all in danger’ if Trump wins in November

[ad_1]

« The View » co-host Whoopi Goldberg warned on Wednesday that American voters need to recognize that they’re « all in danger » if former President Trump wins the presidency in the fall. »You can’t lay by the wayside and say, ‘I’m going to let somebody else do it,’ because this requires you recognizing that we’re all in danger here, » Goldberg said in a plea to American voters. The co-hosts sat down with Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., who criticized former President Trump and his vice presidential candidate Sen. JD Vance during the interview. The discussion comes just days after Trump narrowly survived an assassination attempt at one of his Pennsylvania rallies. One of the co-hosts added, « you can’t sit this one out. » ‘THE VIEW’ CO-HOSTS CALL FOR GUN CONTROL FOLLOWING TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPTWarren said Vance was « more Trump than Trump » on abortion. »He is the JD Vance who says cut Social Security and Medicare. Think about that, and will help Donald Trump do that. He is the JD Vance who says, get rid of the Affordable Care Act and for everybody out there with health insurance, that’s a real risk, » Warren said. Goldberg added that Warren’s message was to make sure people get out there and vote. « It’s JD Vance who owes his entire political career to billionaires literally who swooped in, poured money into his race in Ohio, lifted him up, and he is all there on a tax cut that would give every billionaire $3.5 million every year in tax cuts paid for by you, » Warren also said. CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTUREWarren was asked about the assassination attempt against Trump early in her interview. « The first thing I thought about is democracy, and what is like, the core foundational principle, I mean, all the way down to bedrock, brush everything else away, and it’s that we have ideas, powerful ideas, important ideas, ideas that are not the same. Things we disagree with each other on passionately, and we resolve it at the ballot box, not with violence. That’s it, » she said. Warren claimed during the interview that 100% of women would live in states that ban abortion if Trump and Vance win. « On the other side, Democrats and Joe Biden are fighting to make Roe vs. Wade law of the land again, » Warren said. « That’s what we need to talk about. »

CA school district sues Newsom over bill banning schools from notifying parents of child’s gender identity

[ad_1]

A Southern California school district is suing Gov. Gavin Newsom over a law banning schools from enacting polices to notify parents if their child uses different pronouns or gender identity at school.Newsom signed the law Monday and received extensive praise from LGBTQ lobbying groups. The school district argues the law violates parents’ rights under the U.S. Constitution. »PK-12 minor students, most of whom are too young to drive, vote, or provide medical consent for themselves, are also too young to make life-altering decisions about their expressed gender identity without their parents’ knowledge. But that is precisely what AB 1955 enables—with potentially devastating consequences for children too young to fully comprehend them, » Emily Rae, senior counsel at the Liberty Justice Center (LJC), said in a statement. »School officials do not have the right to keep secrets from parents, but parents do have a constitutional right to know what their minor children are doing at school. Parents are the legal guardians of their children, not Governor Newsom, » she added.Rae and the LJC are representing the school district in its court battle.CALIFORNIA LAWMAKER’S MIC CUT OFF WHILE READING BILL TO END SANCTUARY STATE LAWS, SAYS DEMS ‘DON’T CARE’Newsom’s office said they are confident that the law is in line with the Constitution and are planning to fight the lawsuit in court. »This is a deeply unserious lawsuit, seemingly designed to stoke the dumpster fire formerly known as Twitter rather than surface legitimate legal claims, » Newsom spokeswoman Izzy Gardon told Fox News Digital. « AB 1955 preserves the child-parent relationship, California law ensures minors can’t legally change their name or gender without parental consent, and parents continue to have guaranteed and full access to their student’s educational records consistent with federal law. We’re confident the state will swiftly prevail in this case. »TRANSGENDER ATHLETE COMPLAINS ABOUT LACK OF SPORTSMANSHIP FROM FELLOW RUNNERS AFTER WINNING GIRLS STATE TITLEThe lawsuit came the same day that billionaire Elon Musk weighed in, saying he plans to move the headquarters of SpaceX and the social media platform X to Texas from California, in part because of the new law. »This is the final straw. Because of this law and the many others that preceded it, attacking both families and companies, SpaceX will now move its HQ from Hawthorne, California, to Starbase, Texas, » Musk wrote in a post on X.NEWSOM ATTACKS DEMOCRACY IN CALIFORNIA, BUT WANTS TO TAKE THAT NATIONALThe new law comes after several school districts in California passed policies requiring that parents be notified if a child requests to change their gender identification. That led to pushback by Democratic state officials, who say students have a right to privacy. AB 1955 also requires the state Department of Education to develop resources for families of LGBTQ students in grade 7 through high school. The law is set to take effect in January.Fox News’ Bradford Betz and The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Biden says his mental acuity is ‘pretty damn good,’ despite polls showing majority of Americans disagreeing

[ad_1]

President Biden has declared in an interview this week that his mental acuity is « pretty damn good » — despite numerous recent polls showing majorities of Americans thinking otherwise and raising concerns about his age. « I’ve been doing this a long time. The idea I’m the old guy, I am. I’m old. But I’m only three years older than Trump, number one, » Biden told NBC News. « And number two, my mental acuity’s been pretty damn good. I’ve gotten more done than any president has in a long, long time in 3½ years. So I’m willing to be judged on that. » « I understand. I understand why people say, ‘God, he’s 81 years old. Whoa, » Biden added. « What’s he gonna be when he’s 83 years old, or 84 years?’ It’s a legitimate question to ask. » But a new national poll released this week by NBC News, which surveyed 800 registered voters between July 7-9, found that nearly 80% are concerned about Biden « not having the necessary mental and physical health to be a president for a second term. » TRUMP LEADS BIDEN IN BLUE STATE FOLLOWING ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT: POLL In an ABC News/Washington Post poll released last week, 85% said Biden is too old to serve out a second term. Meanwhile, 60% of respondents also said former President Trump is too old for a second term, up from 44% in the spring of 2023. AS CONCERNS LINGER ABOUT BIDEN’S MENTAL ACUITY, EXPERTS REVEAL HOW COGNITIVE TESTS WORK AND WHAT THEY REVEAL And a Fox News national survey that was taken after the first presidential debate but before Saturday’s assassination attempt on Trump found that 63% believe Biden’s age is jeopardizing national security, 71% think the White House has been dishonest about Biden’s mental state, and another 63% doubt he is that involved in making important decisions these days. In that survey, a new low of 32% think Biden has the mental soundness to serve effectively as president, down 9 points since May. It is a larger 17-point drop among Democrats, from 78% two months ago to 61% now.  Fox News’ Anders Hagstrom and Dana Blanton contributed to this report.
