Ex-Kamala Harris spox hints at bad experience working with VP: ‘You might be the last woman I work for’

[ad_1]

MSNBC host Symone Sanders-Townsend suggested she had a bad experience working for her ex-boss, Vice President Kamala Harris. Sanders-Townsend, who served as chief spokesperson and senior adviser for Harris before joining MSNBC in 2022, appeared with fellow Biden administration veteran-turned-fellow MSNBC host Jen Psaki to discuss the attacks against the new presumptive Democratic nominee and how she handles them. »The thing about being the first is because you’re the first- whether you’re the first woman, first person of color, so on and so forth, folks just sometimes don’t know how to deal with you. They don’t know how to process it, » Sanders-Townsend began Thursday. « And so they resort to, unfortunately, sometimes racist, sexist tropes and memes and stereotypes. »WHY NOW? MEDIA OUTLETS LARGELY QUIET ON TIMING OF SUDDEN CRACKDOWN OF KAMALA HARRIS’ ‘BORDER CZAR’ LABELThe liberal MSNBC host then pivoted to her own personal experience working with Harris. « It was new for me when I worked for her because I never worked for a high-profile woman before. I had only ever worked for men, » Sanders-Townsend told Psaki. She continued, « There was one day at work where I was like ‘Ma’am, you might be the last woman I work for because this is- it’s a lot that we got to deal with over in here. » »There’s a story there, » Psaki said with a chuckle. NY TIMES EDITORIAL BOARD URGES KAMALA HARRIS TO ‘DO BETTER’ THAN BIDEN IN TAKING QUESTIONS FROM REPORTERS »But she was always aware of the criticism of her, right? » Sanders-Townsend said. « When I worked there, we didn’t hide it from her. But it did not deter her. It was something though that I think any candidate, any candidate, any person in power needs to be aware of the criticism. « Because when you’re not aware, the last thing you want is your candidate, your principal, the vice president of the United States of America to be out there and someone says something and they’re like ‘Well what’s that all about?’ ‘Well, ma’am, we discussed that this morning at 10 a.m.' » she added. »Yeah, » Psaki agreed. « I mean, it’s important for them to be aware, which is such an interesting thing. It’s how they respond to it. »MSNBC, CNN LEFT ‘BLOWN AWAY,’ WITH ‘CHILLS’ AFTER HARRIS’ FIRST CAMPAIGN SPEECH: ‘JUMPING OUT OF MY SEAT’During her time as vice president, Harris has faced multiple rounds of staff exoduses from her office, fueling criticism of a high turnover rate within her orbit. Harris swiftly became the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee after President Biden announced his exit from the 2024 race.

Olympics opening ceremony sparks outrage with drag queens parodying Last Supper: ‘Gone completely woke’

[ad_1]

The 2024 Olympics opening ceremony in Paris has sparked international outrage with drag-queen themed imagery of religious and historical figures. In between listing all the countries participating in the Olympic Games, there have been several performances riffing on France’s history and culture, such as a headless Marie Antoinette, the last queen prior to being executed amid French Revolution, singing with her severed head in her hands sporting drag-style makeup. This was part of numerous drag queens that appeared to be a recurring theme throughout the ceremonies. Three drag queens were among the 10,000 torchbearers who relayed the Olympic flame as it started in Greece, passed through French territories and made its way to Paris. One new display on Friday showed what appear to be numerous performers, including drag queens and a large woman in an aureole halo crown, parodying « The Last Supper, » a universally recognizable painting by renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci of Christ and his apostles. Many internationally known political figures, particularly from American politics, condemned the display as a sign of the cultural rot in Western Civilization.PARIS OLYMPIC FLAME RELAT ROUTE FEATURES 3 DRAG QUEEN TORCH BEARERS »Men in wigs front & center at the Olympic Games, » OutKick’s Riley Gaines wrote in a social media post. « No one ever tell me this group is ‘oppressed’ or ‘marginalized’ again. »Tesla founder Elon Musk who bought the X platform criticized the display, saying, « This was extremely disrespectful to Christians. »Harrison Butker, an NFL football player who made headlines with his speech about Catholic faith quoted scripture to condemn the display, writing, « Be not deceived, God is not mocked. For what things a man shall sow, those also shall he reap. For he that soweth in his flesh, of the flesh also shall reap corruption. But he that soweth in the spirit, of the spirit shall reap life everlasting.’ Galatians 6:7-8. »Ex-transgender influencer Oli London described the scene, « Olympics openly mocks Jesus’ Last Supper as drag queens dressed as women play the role of disciples while a plus size woman appears in the middle symbolising Jesus wearing a giant crown. » »The Olympics has basically turned into one long drag show, » anti-woke cultural commentator Libs of TikTok wrote. « The Olympics has gone completely woke. »SUPREME COURT DENIES DESANTIS IN LEGAL BATTLE OVER DRAG QUEEN BAN »What the hell is going on at the Olympics? » video journalist Nick Sortor wrote. « No wonder nobody bothers watching anymore. » »The transnational Left have contempt for Western civilization, » Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton wrote. »This is crazy. Opening your event by replacing Jesus and the disciples at the The Last Supper with men in drag, » radio host Clint Russell said. « There are 2.4 billion Christians on earth and apparently the Olympics wanted to declare loudly to all of them, right out of the gate NOT WELCOME. »Canadian conservative commentator Harrison Faulkner asked, « Wtf is going on at the Olympics opening ceremony? »Juanita Broaddrick, the former nursing administrator who accused former President Bill Clinton of raping her, responded to the display at the Olympics, « Paris had fallen before the Olympics.  This is just a continuation of it. »PARIS OLYMPICS MEN’S SOCCER PLAY BEGINS WITH CHAOTIC MOROCCO WIN AS FANS STORM AND TRASH FIELDFinance and culture commentator Wall Street Silver argued this represents the worst aspects of modern France. »At least China showed the best of their country during their Olympics, » he noted. « France seems determined to show the weakest and worst parts of their country during their Olympics. »Army veteran and radio host Bob Lonsberry wrote « Some of this might explain why so many people left Europe to settle in the United States. »Conservative French politician and European parliament member Marion Maréchal, who has spoken at CPAC in the United States, warned international viewers that this polarizing display does not represent French people like herself. « To all the Christians of the world who are watching the #Paris2024 ceremony and felt insulted by this drag queen parody of the Last Supper, know that it is not France that is speaking but a left-wing minority ready for any provocation. #notinmyname, » she wrote.

Dolphins, Tua Tagovailoa agree to record $212.4 million contract extension: reports

[ad_1]

After the best season of his career, Tua Tagovailoa isn’t going anywhere. He and the Miami Dolphins have reportedly agreed on a four-year deal with $212.4 million with $167 million guaranteed. The $212.4 million is the 10th-largest in NFL history, and the largest over a four-year span in league history, as well.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMHis average salary of $53.1 million per season is the third-highest in NFL history, behind only Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence.Tagoavailoa has been a polarizing quarterback since he was drafted fifth overall out of Alabama in 2020. He suffered two documented concussions in 2023, one of which saw his fingers curl up, causing a major shakeup in the league’s concussion protocol. He appeared dizzy just four days prior and fell to the turf, but he played on Thursday night anyway. The NFL ruled that he had not suffered a concussion in the first incident. The quarterback, though, did suffer a concussion later on in the season, and wound up remaining in that game against the Green Bay Packers. Many wondered whether Tagovailoa was, and still is, one hit away from his career ending abruptly. He even admitted last year that he had contemplated retirement after his scary 2023 season.JERRY JONES REACHES SETTLEMENT IN PATERNITY CASE, SAYS ORDEAL WAS ‘SENSITIVE TO ME AND MY FAMILY’However, he played all 17 games last season for the first time in his career and set career highs in yards (an NFL-leading 4,624), touchdowns (29), completion percentage (69.3), and wins (11).The Dolphins lost the AFC East title on their home turf in Week 18 against the Buffalo Bills, and then had to travel to sub-zero temperatures in Kansas City against the Chiefs, who beat them, 26-7, en route to winning their second consecutive Super Bowl.Tagovailoa is now the seventh quarterback to earn an average per-year salary of over $50 million ever (all since last year), joining Jalen Hurts, Lamar Jackson, Justin Herbert, Jared Goff, Lawrence and Burrow. In his career (53 games, 51 starts), he has completed 66.9% of his passes for 12,639 yards, 81 touchdowns, and a 32-19 record.Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Trump blasts FBI Director Wray’s testimony of ‘shrapnel’ hitting him and not a bullet

[ad_1]

Former President Donald Trump used his Truth Social platform on Thursday evening to rip into FBI Director Christopher Wray after his congressional hearing regarding the assassination attempt on Trump.Wray testified that he wasn’t sure if it was a bullet that struck Trump in the ear while he was at an outdoor rally in Butler, Penn., on July 13. »I think with respect to former President Trump there’s some question about whether or not it’s a bullet or shrapnel that, you know, hit his ear, » Wray said at Wednesday’s hearing.TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT AFTER SECRET SERVICE FAILURES PROMPTS CALLS FOR DRASTIC AGENT RECRUITMENT CHANGESTrump, who nominated Wray as the FBI director in 2017, went full blast on his former appointee after the hearing. »FBI Director Christopher Wray told Congress yesterday that he wasn’t sure if I was hit by shrapnel, glass, or a bullet (the FBI never even checked!), but he was sure that Crooked Joe Biden was physically and cognitively « uneventful » – Wrong! » Trump wrote on his on social media site. « That’s why he knows nothing about the terrorists and other criminals pouring into our Country at record levels. His only focus is destroying J6 Patriots, Raiding Mar-a-Lago, and saving Radical Left Lunatics, like the ones now in D.C. burning American flags and spray painting over our great National Monuments – with zero retribution. « No, it was, unfortunately, a bullet that hit my ear, and hit it hard. There was no glass, there was no shrapnel. The hospital called it a « bullet wound to the ear, » and that is what it was. No wonder the once storied FBI has lost the confidence of America! »Trump was shot in his right ear at the rally and U.S. Secret Service agents swooped in to surround him, pick him up off the stage and help walk him down the stairs and into a vehicle waiting for him.HOUSE UNANIMOUSLY VOTES TO CREATE TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT COMMISSIONThe presumed shooter, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was shot dead by the Secret Service. Two other people were injured from gunfire and former firefighter Corey Comperatore died at the scene while protecting his family.Trump was treated and released at a nearby hospital and then showed up at the Republican National Convention just days later with a bandage on his ear.Kimberly Cheatle, who was the director of the Secret Service at the time, faced calls for her resignation, to which she vehemently said she would not step down. After her testimony before Congress this week, Cheatle resigned.Wray now faces similar scrutiny, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La. »We’ve all seen the video, we’ve seen the analysis, we’ve heard it from multiple sources in different angles that a bullet went through his ear. I’m not sure it matters that much, » Johnson said at the hearing.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPJohnson added that Wray « was not forthcoming with some of the information that we would expect. » »There’s a lot of frustration and concern about the leadership with these agencies, » Johnson said.

Australian swimming coach facing backlash after voicing support for South Korean athlete

[ad_1]

Australian swimming coach recently came under fire after he backed an athlete who is set to compete for a different country at the 2024 Summer Olympics.Head coach Rohan Taylor described Michael Palfrey’s public support for the South Korean swimmer Kim Woo-min as « un-Australian. » Taylor also suggested that Palfrey could be forced to return to Australia before Olympic swimming competition gets underway this weekend. This year, swimmers will compete at Defense Arena, which is located in the western portion of Paris’ suburbs. « Very disappointed. Extremely disappointed, » Taylor said. « For a coach on our team to promote another athlete ahead of our athletes is not acceptable. »CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMPalfrey is part of the Australian staff at the Olympics, overseeing the preparations for three swimmers and working with a fourth athlete as well. But he previously coached Kim, who is the South Korean men’s 400-meter freestyle world champion. In an interview with South Korean television, Palfrey said he was pulling for Kim to claim gold in that event on the opening day of the swimming competition.KATIE LEDECKY SPEAKS OUT ON CHINA SWIMMING DOPING SCANDAL, HOPES FOR ‘CLEAN’ OLYMPICS »I really hope he can win, but ultimately I really hope he swims well, » Palfrey said. He added, « Go Korea. »Taylor said Palfrey later apologized for what was characterized as a lapse in judgment. But, Taylor added that he would hold a meeting with the Australian athletes to discuss whether the coach should continue on with the team in Paris. »For me, my priority is the performance of the team, the performance of the athletes, » Taylor said. « I need to look at the performance of the team and make a judgment call on that. »Australia has two of the leading gold-medal contenders in the 400 freestyle: 2023 world champion Sam Short and 2022 world champion Elijah Winnington. It’s not unusual for coaches to work with athletes from other countries. One of the top American coaches, Bob Bowman, leads a training group that includes French star Léon Marchand. However, considering the Olympics were looming, Taylor said, it was totally unacceptable for a coach on the Australian staff to express support for another country’s swimmer. »We confronted him with those details, » Taylor said. « He owns that and was taken to task for it. He’s very remorseful and we’re now dealing with it. »But, Australian swimmer Bronte Campbell, competing in her fourth Olympics, said the controversy has « barely caused a ripple » within the powerhouse team. »When you come into an Olympic Games, it’s all about protecting your energy. It’s a big, long, emotional competition, » she said. « Everyone knows what they have to do. We always talk about focusing on performance first. Wouldn’t give up power, let there be an insurrection, wouldn’t get out of that chair. » »Even when the people voted for him to get out of the chair, he wouldn’t get out of the chair,’ he continued, referring to former President Trump. « You’ve got somebody who’s sitting in that same chair showing that character does matter, showing that you can have grace, you can put the people first, you can pass the baton, and you’re a bigger person for it. »WHITE HOUSE COMMS SHOP’S CREDIBILITY QUESTIONED AFTER BIDEN BOWS OUT: ‘SCANDAL' »I love that man, » he said. Biden’s speech from the Oval Office came less than four weeks after his disastrous debate performance against Trump. While a Democratic and liberal media pressure campaign almost immediately began afterward to force him out of the nomination, Biden held fast until Sunday, repeatedly claiming he was not going anywhere. He finally capitulated and has received an outpouring of praise from many of the same figures who were afraid he would allow Trump to win another term. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.

5 key takeaways of Biden’s address to the nation from the Oval Office

[ad_1]

President Biden delivered an approximately 11-minute address to the nation from the Oval Office on Wednesday. While sitting behind the Resolute Desk, surrounded by portraits of American presidents, Biden spoke of his decision to discontinue his re-election campaign and laid out his plan for the remainder of his term. The 81-year-old president, after recovering from a reported COVID-19 case last week, also spoke repeatedly about « defending democracy. » Here are five key takeaways from the address that comes at a pivotal moment of the election cycle as Vice President Harris, with Biden’s endorsement, vies to become the Democratic nominee for president. BIDEN ADDRESSES DECISION TO DROP OUT OF 2024 RACE, INTENDS TO COMPLETE TERM IN WHITE HOUSE1. Biden offers an explanation about deciding to step aside from the race The president said that when he was elected to office, he promised to « always level with you, to tell you the truth. » That truth, Biden said, is that the « sacred cause of this country is larger than any one of us, » and those dedicated to the « cause of American democracy must unite to protect it. » « In recent weeks, it’s become clear to me that I need to unite my party in this critical endeavor. I believed my record as president, my leadership in the world, my vision for America’s future all merited a second term. But nothing, nothing can come in the way of saving our democracy, » Biden said. « That includes personal ambition. So I’ve decided the best way forward is to pass the torch to a new generation. It’s the best way to unite our nation. You know, there is a time and a place for long years of experience in public life. There’s also a time and place for new voices. Fresh voices. Yes, younger voices. And that time and place is now. » 2. Biden vows to reform the Supreme Court The president laid out his plan for the remaining six months of his first term. « I’m going to call for Supreme Court reform because this is critical to our democracy, Supreme Court reform, » Biden said, without elaborating. He also vowed to « continue to lower costs for hard-working families, » grow the economy, defend personal freedoms and civil rights « from the right to vote to the right to choose. » The president said he would continue work on the « cancer moonshot, » which was part of his 2020 campaign promise to end cancer as we know it and mobilize the federal government to speed progress in cancer research.  TRUMP SLAMS BIDEN’S ‘TERRIBLE’ OVAL OFFICE ADDRESS ON ABRUPT EXIT FROM 2024 RACE: ‘IT WAS A COUP’3. Biden condemns political violence, without directly addressing the assassination attempt on former President Trump. « I’ll keep calling out hate and extremism. Make it clear [that] there is no place, no place in America for political violence or any violence that ever. Period, » Biden said, while listing priorities for the rest of his term. Trump survived an assassination attempt on July 13 at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, sending a unifying shock wave throughout the Republican Party, which formally named him their nominee the following week. 4. Biden references « kings and dictators » when reiterating his support for Harris as the Democratic presidential nominee « I’d like to thank our great Vice President, Kamala Harris. She’s experienced. She’s tough. She’s capable. She’s been an incredible partner to me and a leader for our country. Now the choice is up to you, the American people. When you make that choice, remember the words of Benjamin Franklin’s hanging on my wall here in the Oval Office, alongside the busts of Doctor King and Rosa Parks and Cesar Chavez, » Biden said. The president recalled how, when Franklin emerged from the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, he was asked whether the country would be a monarchy or a republic. Franklin famously was quoted as responding, « a republic, if you can keep it. » Biden also touted his more than 50 years of service to the nation. « The great thing about America is here, kings and dictators do not rule. The people do, » he said. Biden has previously accused Trump of wanting to be a dictator.Biden noted the country emerged from the « worst pandemic in a century, the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, [and] the worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War. » 5. Biden boasts that he is the first U.S. president of this century without Americans at war anywhere in the world

« I will keep working to ensure America remains strong, secure in the leader of the free world. I’m the first president of this century to report to the American people that the United States is not a war anywhere in the world, » Biden said. The claim comes as the Biden administration received heavy criticism over its botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. During his debate against Trump last month, Biden made the stunning omission of the 13 U.S. service members killed at Abbey Gate when claiming no U.S. troops were killed while he was in office. Biden in his Oval Office address also vowed to « keep rallying a coalition of proud nations » to prevent Russian President Vladimir Putin from taking over Ukraine, promised to make NATO « more powerful and more united than any time in all of our history » and said he would support allies in the Pacific, claiming that it is no longer « conventional wisdom » that China would surpass the United States. Regarding the Israel-Hamas conflict, Biden vowed to « end the war in Gaza, bring home all the hostages to bring peace and security to the Middle East. »

Melania Trump to release first memoir, will reveal stories and photos ‘never before shared with the public’

[ad_1]

Former first lady Melania Trump is releasing her first-ever memoir, revealing stories and photos « never before shared with the public. »The memoir, set to be released this fall, is simply titled « Melania. » »‘Melania’ is a powerful and inspiring story of a woman who has carved her own path, overcome adversity and defined personal excellence, » a press release read Thursday. « The former First Lady invites readers into her world, offering an intimate portrait of a woman who has lived an extraordinary life. Melania includes personal stories and family photos she has never before shared with the public. »MELANIA TRUMP CALLS FOR COUNTRY TO ‘REUNITE’ FOLLOWING NEAR-ASSASSINATIONAccording to the press release, there will be two separate editions of « Melania’ – a « Collector’s Edition » and a « Memoir Edition. » « Melania » is being published by Skyhorse Publishing.KAI TRUMP DECIDED TO MAKE RNC SPEECH AFTER ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT ON HER GRANDFATHERMelania Trump may be returning to the White House as her husband, former President Trump, aims to make a historic comeback in November, this time against Vice President Kamala Harris, the new presumptive Democratic nominee who emerged swiftly after President Biden announced his exit from the race. The former first lady has largely kept a low profile since leaving the White House but recently appeared at last week’s Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, where her husband officially became the Republican nominee. KAI TRUMP, TRUMP’S ELDEST GRANDCHILD, APPLAUDS ‘CARING AND LOVING’ GRANDFATHER AT RNC: ‘HE WILL FIGHT’Just days prior, she released a statement calling for national unity following the assassination attempt against the former president. « When I watched that violent bullet strike my husband, Donald, I realized my life, and Barron’s life, were on the brink of devastating change… A monster who recognized my husband as an inhuman political machine attempted to ring out Donald’s passion – his laughter, ingenuity, love of music, and inspiration. The core facets of my husband’s life – his human side – were buried below the political machine, » the statement read. « Donald, the generous and caring man who I have been with through the best of times and the worst of times, » the former first lady wrote. « Let us not forget that differing opinions, policy, and political games are inferior to love. Our personal, structural, and life commitment – until death – is at serious risk. Political concepts are simple when compared to us, human beings. We are all humans, and fundamentally, instinctively, we want to help one another. American politics are only one vehicle that can uplift our communities. Love, compassion, kindness and empathy are necessities. »She continued, « And let us remember that when the time comes to look beyond the left and the right, beyond the red and the blue, we all come from families with the passion to fight for a better life together, while we are here, in this earthly realm. Dawn is here again. Let us reunite. Now. This morning, ascend above the hate, the vitriol, and the simple-minded ideas that ignite violence. We all want a world where respect is paramount, family is first, and love transcends. We can realize this world again. Each of us must demand to get it back. We must insist that respect fills the cornerstone of our relationships again. I am thinking of you, my fellow Americans. »

FBI Director Christopher Wray testifies about Trump rally assassination attempt

[ad_1]

Wed, 24 Jul 2024 20:46:35 -0400[image]Butler County, Pennsylvania’s top prosecutor said Wednesday that testimony provided to federal lawmakers this week suggesting two snipers were in the building next to the roof from which the would-be Trump assassin was able to get a clear shot of the former president before opening fire at a rally on July 13, was “misstated.”Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger pointed at testimony provided by Pennsylvania State Police commissioner Christopher Paris, which was given to the House Committee on Homeland Security on Tuesday. In a press release, Goldinger explained that 20 minutes before Thomas Matthew Crooks started firing shots at former President Trump, two local snipers saw the gunman seated outside and took a picture of him before circulating it and passing it along to the Secret Service and Pennsylvania State Police. The DA said Crooks moved his location to the opposite side of the building, and both local snipers moved within the building to the other side to match the suspicious person’s movements. While both officers were on the second floor, one ran outside to look for Crooks, Goldinger explained, after spotting the would-be assassin running off with a backpack.Goldinger told Fox News one sniper remained in the building while the other went outside. The sniper who went outside could not find Crooks and returned inside. That’s when, according to Golding, both snipers heard the gunfire.Goldinger told Fox News the entire building was the post for the two snipers and it is a mischaracterization to say otherwise. He also said if the local snipers had remained at their original location inside the building, they would not have been able to see Crooks. Instead, Goldinger said, they would have needed to lean out of the window to see Crooks.Fox News’ CB Cotton contributed to this report.Thu, 25 Jul 2024 01:46:41 -0400Judge Cecilia Altonaga of United States District Court in Miami has rejected ABC’s motion to dismiss a defamation lawsuit filed against the Disney-owned network and its anchor George Stephanopolous by former President Trump, allowing it to move forward. The lawsuit stems from comments Stephanopoulos made in March when he falsely asserted that Trump was found « liable for rape » in a civil case. « A jury may, upon viewing the segment, find there was sufficient context. But a reasonable jury could conclude Plaintiff was defamed and, as a result, dismissal is inappropriate. »The former president trumpeted the ruling on Truth Social, writing, « A BIG WIN TODAY IN HIGH FLORIDA COURT AGAINST ABC FAKE NEWS, AND LIDDLE’ GEORGE SLOPADOPOLUS. A POWERFUL CASE! BEFORE YOU KNOW IT, THE FAKE NEWS MEDIA WILL BE FORCED BY THE COURTS TO START TELLING THE TRUTH. THIS IS A GREAT DAY FOR OUR COUNTRY. MAGA2024! »ABC News declined to comment. Stephanopoulos’ comments were made during a tense exchange with Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., on his Sunday program « This Week » in March. After playing a clip of Mace discussing being a victim of rape, Stephanopoulos asked her, « How do you square your endorsement of Donald Trump with the testimony we just saw? » « You’ve endorsed Donald Trump for president. Judges and two separate juries have found him liable for rape and for defaming the victim of that rape, » Stephanopoulos said, alluding to the legal victory by Trump accuser E. Jean Carroll. The ABC News anchor remained defiant about the lawsuit during an appearance on « The Late Show with Stephen Colbert » in May. »Trump sued me because I used the word ‘rape,’ even though a judge said that’s in fact what did happen, » Stephanopoulos said. « We filed a motion to dismiss. »After the federal jury found Trump liable for sexual abuse, but not rape, Judge Lewis Kaplan wrote in a later ruling that just because Carroll failed to prove rape « within the meaning of the New York Penal Law does not mean that she failed to prove that Mr. Trump ‘raped’ her as many people commonly understand the word ‘rape.’ »Fox News’ Joseph A. Wulfsohn contributed to this report.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 21:49:14 -0400[image]The House of Representatives unanimously voted to establish a bipartisan commission to investigate the attempted assassination of former President Trump.None of the lawmakers in attendance voted against the measure, while the 416 who were present voted yes. Also in attendance were 10 Democrats and six Republicans who did not vote. The new task force will be comprised of seven Republicans and six Democrats, with the members likely being announced this week.House GOP leaders raced the bill to the floor after the deadly shooting at Trump’s Butler, Pennsylvania rally nearly two weeks ago. One attendee died and two others were injured, with Trump himself getting shot in the ear and evacuated off stage by Secret Service. The vote was bipartisan, as expected — the hours following the shooting prompted a flurry of bipartisan condemnations against political violence, as well as scrutiny of the security situation that allowed a 20-year-old gunman with an assault rifle onto a rooftop just outside the rally perimeter.Read more about the unanimous bipartisan vote.Fox News’ Elizabeth Elkind contributed to this report.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 21:16:58 -0400[image]Acting U.S. Secret Service Director Ronald L. Rowe, Jr. will testify before three Senate committees Thursday, on the July 13 attempted assassination of former President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania.Along with Rowe, the deputy director of the FBI will also testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee, which is holding a hearing in partnership with the Senate Homeland Security Committee and the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee.Rowe was appointed to the position of acting director after former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned on Tuesday.Cheatle’s resignation came after her lackluster testimony on Capitol Hill on Monday, which resulted in bipartisan demands for her to step down from her position after failing to protect Trump.Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas announced Rowe’s appointment Tuesday, saying he has served as Deputy Director of Secret Service since April 2023.Rowe is a 24-year veteran of the agency and previously served as the Secret Service’s Assistant Director for the Office of Intergovernmental and Legislative Affairs, Deputy Assistant Director for the Office of Protective Operations, and in other leadership positions.Reuters contributed to this report.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 19:45:44 -0400[image]In addition to would-be Trump assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks, other suspicious people were noted by security at the Butler, Pennsylvania event, Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Christopher Paris told the House Homeland Security Committee on Tuesday. »Was [Crooks] the only one determined to be suspicious that day, » Rep. Andrew Garbarino asked Paris during a hearing with the committee. »No, he was not, » Paris replied. »They identified Crooks for not matriculating, » Paris said. « Crooks never made it through the secure perimeter into the venue space itself. »There were at least two other suspicious people identified and tracked by the law enforcement that day – but after spotting Crooks with a rangefinder, he became a « special individual, » who was « even more suspicious, » he said.Read more about the commissioner’s testimony.Fox News’ Christina Coulter contributed to this report.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 20:01:33 -0400[image]Mary Crooks, the mother of would-be Trump assassin Thomas Crooks, was pictured outside for the first time since her son shot the former president, injured two rallygoers and shot dead former fire chief Corey Comperatore. The gunman’s mother, who is blind was guided by her husband Matthew Crooks from their blue Toyota Tacoma into their Bethel Park home around 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening. Her husband opened her car door for her and grabbed onto her hand as the pair entered the house.FBI Director Christopher Wray testified Wednesday that 14 guns were found in their home. The weapon Crooks used in his attempt to assassinate former President Trump was bought by Matthew Crooks in 2013, and later sold to his son.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 18:11:45 -0400[image]One of the two surviving men who sustained wounds when a gunman opened fire at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday has been released from the hospital, while the other remains in serious but stable condition. The survivors, 74-year-old James « Jim » Copenhaver, of Moon Township, Pennsylvania, and 57-year-old David Dutch of New Kensington, Pennsylvania were at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania when a gunman opened fire on former President Trump, grazing his ear. Both men were transported to the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment. On Wednesday, Dutch was discharged from the hospital, according to hospital officials.Copenhaver remains in the hospital in serious, but stable condition.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 18:12:19 -0400[Video ID]Video provided by the office of Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa., show officers racing to get to the building the would-be assassin of former President Trump, showing confusion on how to access the roof and more.Exclusive video obtained by Grassley from Beaver County Emergency Services Unit, in compliance with congressional requests, show the officers racing to the AGR building after the shooting, and when they arrive, the officers are not sure how to access the roof. The videos also show the shell casings being pointed out and counted, with officers noting that the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, had a rangefinder and cell phone on him. There were also discussions heard on the video about Crooks having a potential detonator, though the officers were not sure if the device was active or not.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 16:31:31 -0400[image]FBI Director Christopher Wray testified that the first time anyone from law enforcement saw would-be Trump assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks with a weapon was seconds before he opened fire.Wray testified before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday afternoon and was asked about the attempted assassination of former President Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13.He was asked about the amount of time that passed between law enforcement officials seeing Crooks with a weapon and the moment shots were fired.A local law enforcement officer saw Crooks on the roof without a weapon minutes before the shooting, though seconds before the shooting the same law enforcement officer saw him with a weapon.“That is the first time, to my knowledge, the first time anybody from law enforcement saw him with a weapon,” Wray said. “That is seconds before he shot at President Trump.”Wray was then asked how close the assassin’s bullet came to killing Trump.“My understanding is that either it, or some shrapnel is what, you know, grazed his ear. So, I don’t know that I have the very distance…,” Wray answered before being asked if he would say very, very close.“Yes,” Wray said.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 16:14:25 -0400[image]FBI Director Christopher Wray said Wednesday that the weapon used in the attempted assassination of former President Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13 was purchased by the shooter’s dad and sold to the shooter 10 years later.Wray was asked about the history of the weapon used by Thomas Matthew Crooks when he opened fire at the presidential rally.“I’m told that the father purchased the firearm in 2013, so quite a while ago, and then he sold it to his son in October of 2023,” Wray said. The AR-style weapon was seen in law enforcement body camera footage released on Tuesday, near the shooter’s body on top of the roof he fired eight shots from before being killed by a counter sniper.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 15:45:42 -0400[image]FBI Director Christopher Wray said Wednesday that a Steam account previously reported to have belonged to would-be Trump assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks belonged to someone else.Wray was asked about a post allegedly made by Crooks on the gaming platform, which read, “July 13 will be my premier, watch as it unfolds.”Wray said the information was released as the FBI was obtaining real-time information, but the agency has since learned the profile page that made the post was not the shooter.Instead, he said, it was another individual who was making a “sick joke.”After the shooting, the person who made the post created a profile page pretending to be the shooter, Wray said, and that person has since confessed to that.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 15:21:28 -0400[image]Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the people of Israel were relieved former President Trump emerged safe and sound after being attacked at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13.Netanyahu made the comments as he addressed a joint session of Congress Wednesday afternoon amid his country’s continued fight against the terrorist group Hamas in Gaza.“Like Americans, Israelis were relieved that President Trump emerged safe and sound from that dastardly attack on him…dastardly attack on American democracy,” Netanyahu said. “There is no room for political violence in democracies.”Wed, 24 Jul 2024 15:02:04 -0400[image]A Michigan man was found dead after allegedly telling police that he would confess to crimes targeting supporters of former President Trump and law enforcement. One incident involved a four-wheeler that the driver used to plow down an 80-year-old man who was placing Trump signs in his yard. The elderly victim was hospitalized Sunday in critical condition. The Hancock City Police Department received a message from an individual in Quincy Township on Monday who stated they wanted to « confess a crime involving an ATV driver within the last 24 hours, » according to a press release from the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office. The caller further told police to « send someone to pick me up, » the press release said.Officers and deputies responded to the address and discovered a 22-year-old male suspect at the scene who was « deceased with a single self-inflicted gunshot wound, » the sheriff’s office said. The press release stated that the crimes reported in the City of Hancock « appear to be politically motivated, involving victims who displayed Trump election signs and law enforcement stickers and flags commonly referred to as ‘thin blue line’ paraphernalia. »Read more about the politically motivated attacks on Trump supporters.Fox News Digital’s Danielle Wallace contributed to this report.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 14:23:40 -0400[Video ID]FBI Director Christopher Wray’s testimony to the House Judiciary Committee is providing new details to the timeline of the Trump assassination attempt on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania. Wray revealed Wednesday that shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks conducted a Google search for « how far away was Oswald from Kennedy » on the same day he registered to attend the rally.Crooks also visited the rally site about a week before the shooting and spent about 20 minutes there, Wray said. Read more about the Google search Crooks conducted before shooting.Fox News’ Rebecca Rosenberg and Bryan Llenas contributed to this report.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 13:32:33 -0400[image]FBI Director Christopher Wray offered new details about the explosive devices found in Thomas Matthew Crooks’ car and home during testimony before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday.Wray is facing questions from lawmakers about the FBI’s investigation into Crooks’ attempted assassination of former President Trump at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. He said the FBI found 3 ‘relatively crude’ devices and the bombs were rigged for remote detonation.Wray did not detail the size of the detonator but said Crooks was able to carry it with him onto the rooftop along with his rifle. The FBI director also said that the state of the on-off switch on the detonator indicated it would not have worked had Crooks attempted to activate the bombs after opening fire on Trump.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 18:59:34 -0400FBI Director Christopher Wray said Wednesday that « we now believe that the subject climbed onto the roof using some mechanical equipment, on the ground and vertical piping on the side of the AGR building, in other words, we do not believe he used a ladder to get up there. »He also said « outdoor events, whether they’re political rallies or… a college football game in an open stadium, a concert, these are places that are, often, you know, particularly challenging to secure adequately, because the range of threats that can face them are higher. »In addition to that… just threats to public officials, including politicians, is an increasingly, pervasive part of today’s landscape. And so that adds to the challenge, » Wray continued.Read more about the FBI director’s testimony.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 13:22:25 -0400FBI Director Christopher Wray said Wednesday that a person affiliated with his agency is being investigated over a “totally inappropriate” post about the Trump assassination attempt. “Have any FBI agents texted, emailed, or expressed disappointment that Trump survived the assassination attempt, or otherwise editorialized about the assassination attempt?” Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, asked Wray during the House Judiciary Committee hearing. “I don’t know about any agents. There have been at least two instances, I think, or one instance of an individual, who posted something that I consider outrageous and totally inappropriate and unacceptable. And that individual has been referred to our inspection division, which is the arm, our sort of internal affairs investigatory arm that does the disciplinary process,” Wray responded. Wed, 24 Jul 2024 12:45:08 -0400[Video ID]BUTLER, Pa. – Whistleblowers have told Republican Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley that a law enforcement officer who was assigned to monitor the roof of a building that would-be former President Trump assassin Thomas Crooks fired from on July 13 left their post because it was « too hot. »Crooks, 20, fired multiple rounds from the roof of American Glass Research (AGR) Building 6, which was outside the rally perimeter but had a direct line of sight to where the former president was standing on stage at his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. »This comes from a whistleblower with direct knowledge of the Secret Service plan and setup that day, » Hawley said. « And what this whistleblower tells my office is that there was at least one law enforcement person assigned to the roof itself. In other words, the plan called for a law enforcement individual to be on the roof at all times during the rally. And that did not happen. And what the whistleblower tells me is the law enforcement individual who was assigned to that roof abandoned it. »Butler’s temperature reached a high of 92 degrees on July 13, and prior to the assassination attempt, emergency personnel at the rally were mostly focused on attending to people suffering from heat-related illnesses.Hawley, who visited the rally site on July 19, noted that the AGR building in question was about 150 yards or fewer from the main stage of Trump’s rally.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 12:29:17 -0400Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., said Wednesday during the House Judiciary Committee hearing on the Trump rally shooting response that « we can add additional resources to protect political candidates. And we should. « The people who went to that rally deserved to be protected from gun violence, just like the students at Parkland deserve to be protected from gun violence, just like the babies at Sandy Hook deserve to be protected from gun violence. So we’ll devote more resources. We’ve added a presidential candidate who is also now protected, » Swallwell said, referencing Kamala Harris. »But if we’re being honest with ourselves, we have armed this country to the teeth, and we have allowed the most dangerous people to have access to the most dangerous weapons, » he continued. »So we really need to step back and think if we allow these weapons to be in our country, can we truly protect our elected officials and can we truly protect, most importantly, our children in the next generation? » he added.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 12:36:46 -0400[image]FBI Director Christopher Wray says the investigation into Trump rally shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks has uncovered that he searched about the JFK assassination on the day he registered to attend Trump’s July 13 campaign event in Butler, Pennsylvania. »One of the things that I can share here today that has not been shared yet is that we’ve just in the last couple of days, found that from our… analysis of a laptop that the investigation ties to the shooter, reveals that on July 6th, he did a Google search for, quote, ‘how far away was Oswald from Kennedy? And so that’s a search that obviously is significant in terms of his state of mind, » Wray said. « That is the same day that it appears that he registered for the Butler rally. »Wed, 24 Jul 2024 12:04:48 -0400FBI Director Christopher Wray said Wednesday that the weapon that Trump rally shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks used in the attack « had a collapsible stock, which could explain why it might have been less easy for people to observe. » »Because one of the things that we’re finding is… the first people to observe him with the weapon were when he was already on the roof, » Wray continued. « And we haven’t yet found anybody with firsthand observation of him with the weapon walking around beforehand. »Wed, 24 Jul 2024 13:26:26 -0400FBI Director Christopher Wray told House lawmakers that the FBI « did not have any information about the shooter » prior to the Trump assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13. »He was not in our holdings, before the shooting, » Wray said about Thomas Matthew Crooks while answering a question from Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla. « We’ve run a thorough search, for this subject through all of our holdings. And he was not in them anywhere, » Wray added.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 11:55:29 -0400[image]FBI Director Christopher Wray, speaking about an Iranian plot to assassinate former President Trump, said « we for some time and I in particular for some time, have been calling out the efforts by the Iranian government to attempt to retaliate for the killing of [Iranian leader Qasem] Soleimani by going after, current or former prominent U.S. officials. « And we’ve even had an indictment against it. And I think we need to recognize the brazenness of the Iranian regime, including right here in the United States. And I expect that we’re going to see more of it, » Wray continued. »I’m not aware of any threat information related to protectees that wasn’t, you know, passed in a timely way. But I can’t really get into specifics here, » he added. »Any information related to threats against, the former president… we routinely share with Secret Service on a number of levels in a timely way, » Wray also said.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 11:57:40 -0400FBI Director Christopher Wray said Wednesday that it is « a dangerous time to be a prominent public official. » »I believe that former President Trump, really, frankly, like any president or former president, is a very high profile figure and attracts a lot of unfortunately the kind of threats that we have been talking about, » he added during a House Judiciary Committee hearing on the Trump rally shooting response.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 11:35:55 -0400FBI Director Christopher Wray told the House Judiciary Committee that agents have recovered 14 firearms linked to Trump rally shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks and his family. »I think it was a total of, I think 14 in the house, » Wray said. « The weapon that he used for the attempted assassination, was, an AR-style rifle, that was purchased legally, that he, as is my understanding, acquired, I think bought, actually, from his father, who was the one who originally bought it, again, legally, » Wray also said.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 11:32:44 -0400[image]FBI Director Christopher Wray says his agency has « recovered three [explosive] devices, two, in his vehicle and one back in his residence » during the investigation into Trump rally shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks. »I would say these are relatively… crude devices themselves. But they did have the ability to be detonated remotely, » he said. »In addition to the two devices that we recovered out of his vehicle, there were receivers for those two explosive devices with the devices. And then on the shooter himself, when he was killed by law enforcement, he had a transmitter with him, » Wray revealed. »Now, I do want to add one important point here is that at the moment… it looks like because of the on on/off position on the receivers, that if he had tried to detonate those devices from the roof, it would not have worked, » Wray added. « But that doesn’t mean the explosives weren’t dangerous. »Wray also said: « We have recovered a drone that the shooter appears to have used. It’s being exploited and analyzed by the FBI lab. The drone was recovered in his vehicle. So at the time of the shooting the drone was in his vehicle with the controller. »Wray told the House Judiciary Committee that « it appears » Crooks was flying the drone about 200 yards away from the stage area of the Trump rally around 3:50 to 4 p.m. local time on the day of the shooting. Trump was hit with gunfire at 6:11 p.m. as the campaign event was underway.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 10:37:20 -0400FBI Director Christopher Wray told House lawmakers Wednesday that there are no signs Thomas Matthew Crooks had any help with the Trump assassination attempt. »Not at this time, but again, the investigation is ongoing, » he said about the matter.Wray also said the FBI has recovered « eight cartridges on the roof » following the shooting on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 10:33:25 -0400FBI Director Christopher Wray, answering a question from Rep. Dan Bishop, R-N.C., about « why doesn’t the FBI disclose to the American people all of the investigative detail and evidence that you’re gathering as it is gathered? » says his agency is trying to be transparent. »We have tried to be transparent, with both Congress and the American people as we are going along in the investigation, frankly, unusually so for an ongoing investigation, given the sheer nature, of it, » Wray said. »But part of the issue, is that as like in any investigation, as we proceed, facts evolve, our understanding of what somebody said turns out to have more context that we didn’t have before. We have additional leads out there, » he continued. »So part of our goal is not just to respect the ongoing investigation process, but also to make sure that we don’t prematurely provide information that then, two days later, turns out to be different than what we told people, » Wray added.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 10:52:01 -0400FBI Director Christopher Wray told House lawmakers Wednesday that « I have been saying for some time now that we are living in an elevated threat environment and tragically, the Butler County assassination attempt is another example. « A particularly heinous and very public one of what I’ve been talking about, » he added. »But it also reinforces our need at the FBI and our ongoing commitment to stay focused on the threats, on the mission and on the people we do the work with and the people we do the work for, » Wray also said. « Every day, all across this country and indeed around the world, the men and women of the FBI are doing just that, working around the clock to counter the threats we face. Wed, 24 Jul 2024 10:27:23 -0400FBI Director Christopher Wray said during his opening statement to the House Judiciary Committee Wednesday that there is a « lot of work to do » regarding the Trump rally shooting investigation and that « no stone » will be left unturned. »I want to assure you and the American people that the men and women of the FBI will continue to work tirelessly to get to the bottom of what happened, » Wray said. « We are bringing all the resources of the FBI to bear both criminal and national security. That is a whole lot of work underway, and still a lot of work to do. And our understanding of what happened and why will continue to evolve. We’re going to leave no stone unturned. The shooter may be deceased, but the FBI’s investigation is very much ongoing. »Wed, 24 Jul 2024 10:17:23 -0400Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., who has been a critic of former President Trump, said Wednesday that « regardless of my strong feelings about Donald Trump’s behavior, I unequivocally and unabashedly condemn with every fiber of my being, the attempt against his life. » »Political violence erodes the very foundations of our nation. It consists of freedom of speech, of peaceful transition, of power. A democratic government at its core, » he added. « These cannot exist if political violence is allowed to fester and to go unchecked. »He called the Trump rally shooting « an attack on our democracy. »Wed, 24 Jul 2024 10:19:07 -0400Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, opened the House Judiciary Committee hearing on the Trump rally shooting response Wednesday by saying there are a « lot of unanswered questions » regarding the incident. »There are a lot of unanswered questions about the security failures that day, » Jordan said in his opening statement. « Questions about decisions made before the rally. Questions about actions during the rally and questions about statements made after the event concluded. »Jordan called the shooting in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13 a « tragedy » that took the life of volunteer firefighter Corey Comperatore, adding that « of course, former President Trump, by the grace of God, survived the assassination attempt. « Wed, 24 Jul 2024 10:05:26 -0400[image]FBI Director Christopher Wray has arrived Wednesday at the Rayburn House Office Building for a House Judiciary Committee hearing on the Trump rally shooting response. On the way into the hearing room, Wray did not respond to multiple questions asked by Fox News Congressional Correspondent Aishah Hasnie on if he would be cooperative with lawmakers or if his agency has figured out the motive for the assassination attempt against former President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 09:53:59 -0400[Video ID]Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., told ‘Fox & Friends’ on Wednesday that he thinks it’s “stunning” that authorities were using text messaging to coordinate their search for Trump rally shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks. Rubio’s comment comes after Sen. Chuck Grassely, R-Iowa, posted a video on social media Tuesday showing law enforcement on the roof of a building in Butler, Pennsylvania, where Crooks was shot dead by snipers. « Beaver County sniper seen and sent the pictures out. This is him, » one law enforcement officer tells another man, who appears to be a Secret Service agent, on the roof. “I think it’s stunning, that in an event like this, of the Republican nominee, a former president and someone we know is being targeted by foreign governments for assassination, I think it’s amazing that the way they were communicating with each other was taking pictures on a cell phone and distributing it to some sort of text messaging group,” Rubio said Wednesday. “This was a massive, systemic failure and we are lucky that the shooter was not some professionally trained assassin,” he added. “If it had been, we would have had a very different, much more tragic outcome.” Fox News’ Danielle Wallace contributed to this report.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 08:46:26 -0400[Video ID]Body camera footage recorded during the aftermath of the assassination attempt on former President Trump showed law enforcement discussing how a sniper « lost sight » of gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks.Sen. Chuck Grassely, R-Iowa, posted the three-minute video on social media Tuesday. The footage shows authorities on the roof of a building in Butler, Pennsylvania, where Crooks was shot dead by snipers. « Beaver County sniper seen and sent the pictures out. This is him, » one law enforcement officer tells another man, who appears to be a Secret Service agent, on the roof. « Rifle’s right there, obviously, » another law enforcement officer says as he points at the weapon. The first law enforcement officer, whose body camera was recording, said the sniper who spotted Crooks was still in a building nearby, showing where the sniper was located. »That’s the sniper who sent the original pictures and seen him come from the bike and then set the bag back down and then lost sight of him, » the officer said. « He’s the one who sent the pictures out. I don’t know if you got the same ones I did…. » »I think I did, yeah, » the man who appears to be a Secret Service agent replied. « He’s got his glasses on…. » The footage was obtained from the Beaver County Emergency Services Unit, and Grassley posted it on X. Fox News Digital has blurred the image of the body. Wed, 24 Jul 2024 08:45:16 -0400The Secret Service has recently encouraged former President Trump’s campaign to refrain from holding outdoor rallies with large crowds after a shooter nearly assassinated him during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, according to reports. The Washington Post reported that three people familiar with the matter said Secret Service agents expressed their concerns to Trump campaign advisers after the Butler shooting. All three people who spoke with the publication spoke on condition of anonymity. On the advice, the Trump campaign is looking for indoor venues like basketball arenas and large indoor spaces that can hold thousands of people, the sources reportedly said. Trump’s campaign team is also not planning any large outdoor events anytime soon, the Washington Post reported.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 08:27:38 -0400[Video ID]EXCLUSIVE: House Foreign Affairs Chairman Michael McCaul, R-Texas, is raising concerns about the security of U.S. and world leaders visiting here in the wake of the failed assassination attempt against former President Trump. »Yeah, I mean, of course, » McCaul told Fox News Digital when asked whether security lapses at Trump’s Butler, Pennsylvania ,rally made him concerned about the level of security around President Biden as well. « I would say any [leader]… We’ve got Netanyahu coming down tomorrow. That’s a good example. »Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to address a joint session of Congress on Wednesday as his country continues to be at war in Gaza with the pro-Palestinian terror group Hamas.Security preparations are already underway on Capitol Hill, with fencing being seen around the perimeter of the U.S. Capitol as early as Tuesday morning. But nevertheless, the deadly shooting at Trump’s rally earlier this month, in which one attendee was killed and two people were critically injured, has spurred concerns and conversations about elected officials’ safety. Trump himself was shot in the ear and evacuated by Secret Service agents.McCaul said of possible tension at Netanyahu’s coming address, « I mean, the ingredients are there for it. It’s ripe for violence. »He cited the threat of protests by pro-Palestinian demonstrators, some of whom have consistently patrolled the Capitol complex in the wake of Hamas’ attack on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, confronting pro-Israel lawmakers on both sides. More than 300 protesters were arrested in late October of last year after occupying the Cannon House Office building during a protest. That same Capitol office building saw a massive protest on Tuesday, just a day before Netanyahu’s speech. Protesters occupied the Cannon building rotunda, chantinng and waving banners before dozens were arrested by police, some detained with zipties. Among the banners were messages reading, « Jews say: Stop the genocide. »This is an excerpt from an article by Fox News’ Liz ElkindWed, 24 Jul 2024 08:16:34 -0400[Video ID]The U.S. Secret Service (USSS) should have « one set of standards, » according to Republican Oklahoma Rep. Josh Brecheen.Brecheen introduced a bill on Tuesday called the Secret Service Readiness Act that aims to create « a uniform fitness standard for Secret Service special agents and uniformed division officers » after the assassination attempt that wounded former President Trump at his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13. »We believe that there ought to be one set of standards for Secret Service agents. There shouldn’t be multiple different ways you can qualify based upon your sex or your political beliefs. If people who are being protected by [the] Secret Service – if they want the opportunity to let those who can’t meet full historic standards on their details, let them handle it. Don’t force it upon everybody else and potentially make them more vulnerable to an assassination attempt. There should be one set of standards. »Brecheen’s comments come after the Oklahoma congressman, along with other bipartisan members of the House Committee on Homeland Security, on Monday visited the site of the rally to get a better idea of how shooter Thomas Crooks was able to open fire on the president from approximately 150 yards. The assassination attempt and string of security failures or miscommunications that allowed Crooks to get on the roof of a nearby building and fire multiple rounds from an AR-15 at the former president and his rally attendees, killing one and critically wounding two others, has brought a magnifying glass to the Secret Service’s recent diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives that some experts have criticized as counterintuitive. The USSS did not immediately respond to an inquiry from Fox News Digital regarding the new bill.Former USSS Director Kimberly Cheatle, who resigned Tuesday, was responsible for executing the agency’s integrated mission of « protection and investigations by leading a diverse workforce, » according to the USSS agency website. Critics have accused Cheatle of prioritizing « woke » ideologies rooted in DEI instead of only focusing on hiring the best for the agency. This is an excerpt from an article by Fox News’ Audrey ConklinWed, 24 Jul 2024 07:54:38 -0400[Video ID]A top House Democrat who took part in a bipartisan walk-through of the Butler Farm Show grounds in Pennsylvania, where former President Trump was nearly assassinated, said law enforcement rank-and-file seem apprehensive to speak publicly about « who’s in charge. »Rep. Lou Correa, D-Calif., said officers who serve are « great people » and that breakdowns that led to the fatal event earlier this month prove interagency clarity in cooperation is badly lacking.Correa praised Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Commissioner Col. He added that local officials and law enforcement in the Butler area he met with Monday were equally admirable.Correa said local agency members approached him during a private congressional walk-through and told him they needed to talk some more about what they saw on the ground. »A couple of folks there kind of hinted to me that everybody locally is not comfortable going out and giving their opinion, » he said. « But one individual said he’s not quite sure who was in charge. »There was a local supervisor or council member who said that we need to talk some more. Those are the people that were where the rubber meets the road, so to speak, » he said.Correa added that, comparatively speaking, the Secret Service is a small operation of around 3,600 agents, while Paris said the PSP employs about 6,000. »The local police and state troopers really are force multipliers, and, in this case, there are some things you need to work on to fix the process, » Correa said.He said after the House hearing with Paris and his trip to Northwest Pennsylvania the best thing to do is go « back to the drawing board and really start kicking the tires in terms of guidance and Secret Service and what they do and how they address and work with local public safety agencies. »This is an excerpt from an article by Fox News’ Charles CreitzWed, 24 Jul 2024 07:40:05 -0400[Video ID]Last month, Jake Paul said that former President Trump will most likely get his vote, and understandably so. He was rather emotional about the assassination attempt on the former president.A gunman opened fire on Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13 during a rally, and a bullet clipped his right ear. Paul thinks it was by the grace of God that it was not worse. »It’s one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen and probably will ever see. I think there would have been a civil war if something would have hit him. But I think that’s like the divine intervention, for sure. I believe that God stepped in and saved him, » Paul said on his brother Logan’s podcast, « Impaulsive, » which Trum »It’s quite literally ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.’ And I think that’s also probably why God had this exact situation happen – because He saw the path that we were going down with, » the YouTuber-turned-boxer added. « And I’m not even gonna say, like, it’s Democrat-Republican, what does it matter? It’s the people who are running the government now, the path that they were leading us to was gonna be catastrophic and terrible. And I think God really intervened, like, ‘we need this guy right now. Everyone needs to flip sides. We can’t have a close election – we need a landslide. Lance Gooden, R-Texas, told ‘Fox & Friends First’ that he hopes FBI Director Christopher Wray comes to the House Judiciary Committee hearing Wednesday with answers and “a plan to make us feel better about what the FBI is doing” in the wake of the Trump assassination attempt. “We have so many examples of mishandling of investigations, of corruption at the FBI, that my constituents and many of my colleagues as well are very suspect of whatever the FBI comes up with,” said Gooden, who is a member of the committee. “But it is my hope today that Director Wray will be forthcoming, he will answer the questions that we have for him, that he will slightly put our minds at ease if that is possible.” “It’s frankly appalling and embarrassing as a nation that we have such terrible security for our former and current presidents. I’ve got to believe that we can do better,” Gooden also said. “I want to know where we are currently, what information they have, what the plan is, what resignations are taking place, who is going to be held accountable, how this is not going to happen again,” Gooden added. “I don’t want any secrets. The American people are tired of tragedies and incidents taking place where we have questions and conspiracy theories for many years to come unanswered.” Wed, 24 Jul 2024 06:49:23 -0400FBI Director Christopher Wray is set to testify this morning on Capitol Hill as lawmakers continue to hold hearings on the Trump rally shooting security response.Wray will appear in front of the House Judiciary Committee for a hearing it says « will examine the FBI’s investigation into the assassination attempt against President Trump and the ongoing politicization of the nation’s preeminent law enforcement agency under the direction of FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland. »Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned from her position on Tuesday, a day after she testified in front of the House Oversight Committee. If [Trump] had his head turned, he would’ve had his brains blown out, and that was manufactured around the corner from my house, » said a neighbor who lives about the same distance from the Crooks home that the shooter was from the president when Crooks opened fire. »There was such evil around the corner, » she said Tuesday. « We’re always going to have a scar from what happened and how close to us [it was]. »Another woman who regularly runs through the neighborhood said she passed Crooks in their quiet neighborhood several times over the summer. That’s what this resolution asked the administration to do, and I hope we can get a vote in the senate, so at least everyone will know where everybody here stands,” says Rubio.Wed, 24 Jul 2024 23:58:25 -0400[Video ID]An unnamed patriot reached into a smoldering heap Wednesday to rescue an American flag from burning at the hands of pro-Hamas agitators. The man, who wanted to remain anonymous, was able to successfully save a fragment of Old Glory. Biden backs Harris, pushes Supreme Court ‘reform’ in ‘pass the torch’ speech about ending 2024 bid

[ad_1]

President Biden addressed the nation for the first time on Wednesday since bowing out of the 2024 election, saying he is passing the torch to « a new generation » while again throwing his support behind Vice President Kamala Harris in her campaign to secure the Democratic Party’s nomination. « I decided the best way forward is to pass the torch to a new generation. It’s the best way to unite our nation. You know, there is a time and a place for long years of experience in public life. There’s also a time and place for new voices, fresh voices, yes, younger voices. And that time and place is now, » Biden said. The speech lasted roughly 11 minutes, with the president sitting at the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office while touting his years in political office and decision to bow out. Members of the president’s family were in attendance for the speech, including first lady Jill Biden, daughter Ashley Biden, son Hunter Biden and others. The president said he looks forward to the work before him in his final six months in office, including pushing for Supreme Court reforms. « I’m gonna call for Supreme Court reform, because this is critical to our democracy, » he said. Media reports recently surfaced that Biden is considering supporting legislation that would attempt to impose term limits on Supreme Court justices and a new enforceable ethics code.BIDEN ENDS BID FOR 2ND TERM IN WHITE HOUSE AS HE DROPS OUT OF HIS 2024 REMATCH WITH TRUMP Biden announced his exit from the presidential race on Sunday evening in an X post while self-isolating in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, following a COVID-19 diagnosis last Wednesday. After suffering « mild symptoms » and « general malaise » after his diagnosis, he received a negative diagnosis on Tuesday of this week and returned to the White House. His trip back to the nation’s capital on Tuesday marked the first time Biden was seen in public since suspending his re-election bid on Sunday and the first time since being diagnosed with COVID-19 on July 17. His speech Wednesday evening included citing American forefathers and political leaders while arguing « democracy is at stake » this election cycle as the Democratic Party squares up against former President Donald Trump. « Thomas Jefferson wrote the immortal words that guide this nation. George Washington showed us presidents are not kings. Abraham Lincoln implored us to reject malice. Franklin Roosevelt, who inspired us to reject fear. I revere this office, but I love my country more, » he said. « It’s been the honor of my life to serve as your president, but in the defense of democracy, which is at stake, I think is more important than any title. I draw strength and I find joy in working for the American people. But this sacred task of perfecting our union, it’s not about me. It’s about you. » Members of the Biden family were seen tearing up and hugging the president after he wrapped up his speech. GOP SENATOR DEMANDS CABINET INVOKE 25TH AMENDMENT AGAINST BIDEN AFTER SUSPENDING HIS RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN Trump responded to the speech on Truth Social, saying it was « was barely understandable, and sooo bad! »The 46th president had faced mounting pressure from his Democrat allies and legacy media outlets to bow out of the race since June 27, when he delivered a botched debate performance against Trump that was riddled with garbled remarks and where the president lost his train of thought and appeared more subdued than during other recent public events. The debate reignited concern among conservatives and critics that Biden’s mental acuity had slipped, while it marked the beginning of a pressure campaign among Democrats to oust Biden in favor of a candidate they believed is better suited to take on Trump.TRUMP SAYS BIDEN ‘IS NOT FIT TO SERVE’: ‘WHO IS GOING TO BE RUNNING THE COUNTRY FOR THE NEXT 5 MONTHS?’Dozens of members of Congress began publicly thanking Biden for his work in the White House and decades in public office while calling on him to pass the torch to another candidate. Shortly after his announcement on Sunday afternoon, Biden endorsed Vice President Harris to pick up the mantle and make a run for the party’s nomination. As of Tuesday, Harris had enough delegates to lock up the nomination, which will be certified by the DNC next month. He added in his speech Wednesday that Harris is « tough » and « capable » while touting her as the Democratic Party’s presumptive nominee. « I’d like to thank our great Vice President Kamala Harris. She’s experienced. She’s tough, she’s capable. She’s been an incredible partner to me and a leader for our country. Now the choice is up to you, the American people, » he said. 10 DEMOCRATS VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA HARRIS COULD NAME AS HER 2024 RUNNING MATENow that the president has dropped out of the election cycle, conservative lawmakers and others have called on Biden to resign from the White House, arguing that if he is unable to run for re-election, he’s unfit to run the nation for the roughly six months left of his tenure. « If Joe Biden is not fit to run for President, he is not fit to serve as President. He must resign the office immediately. November 5 cannot arrive soon enough, » House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., said in a statement on Sunday.Others have called on Harris to invoke the 25th Amendment while concerns mount over Biden’s health. Tennessee Rep. Andy Ogles sent a letter to Harris on Thursday requesting she invoke the 25th Amendment, exclusively telling Fox News Digital that Biden left the race « because he isn’t up for the job of president, and everyone in America knows it. » « I’ve said for over a year that Biden’s ever-declining health has rendered him incapable of leading the nation. With his recent reclusion following a supposed COVID diagnosis, it is now more apparent than ever that he must resign or be forced out. Since Biden has made it clear he will not resign, it is imperative that Vice President Harris move forward with invoking the provisions of the 25th Amendment to remove him forcibly. The safety and well-being of the American people and our nation depend upon it, » Ogles said.Biden’s announcement on dropping out was made just more than a week after an assassination attempt on Trump’s life during a rally in Pennsylvania and just days after the Republican National Convention wrapped up in Milwaukee, where Trump was officially declared to be the Republican Party’s nominee.

FBI Director Wray reveals 5 key details about Trump shooters’ stash of explosives, weapons

[ad_1]

FBI Director Christopher Wray offered new details about the explosive devices found in Thomas Matthew Crooks’ car and home during testimony before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday.Wray is facing questions from lawmakers about the FBI’s investigation into Crooks’ attempted assassination of former President Trump at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Here are the key details Wray offered regarding the explosives.Wray says investigators have so far found three explosive devices they believe belonged to Crooks. Two were found inside Crooks’ vehicle near the Butler rally, and one more was found inside his home.ROOFTOP BODYCAM VIDEO SHOWS CONFUSION AMONG OFFICIALS, RIFLE SHOOTER USED IN DEADLY ATTEMPT ON TRUMPWray described the bombs as « relatively crude, » but he added they still posed a major threat.Despite the crude nature of the explosives, Wray said they were rigged for remote detonation.Wray did not offer details about the range of the remote detonators, but he said it does not appear that Crooks attempted to set them off before being killed by Secret Service counter snipers.SECRET SERVICE DIRECTOR CHEATLE RESIGNS AFTER MOUNTING PRESSURE IN WAKE OF TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPTCrooks had the remote detonator for the explosives with him on the rooftop when he opened fire at Trump.Wray did not detail the size of the detonator but said Crooks was able to carry it with him onto the rooftop along with his rifle. The FBI director said that the state of the on-off switch on the detonator indicated it would not have worked had Crooks attempted to activate the bombs after opening fire on Trump.Wray confirmed that the FBI has gained access to Crooks’ phone, but he said their efforts have been hampered thanks to Crooks’ routine use of encrypted messaging apps.Wray said the investigation has not ruled out the possibility that Crooks was working with one or more accomplices.Wray said FBI investigators have found and recovered the drone Crooks used to scout out the area where Trump’s rally was taking place. He said both the drone and the controller were in Crooks’ vehicle at the time of the shooting.Investigators believe Crooks flew the drone around near the venue between 3:50 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on the day of the rally. The drone was roughly 200 yards away from the stage during the flight.

Whistleblower reveals why Trump rally officer assigned to shooter’s perch moved

[ad_1]

Whistleblowers have told Republican Missouri Sen. »Butler’s temperature reached a high of 92 degrees on July 13, and prior to the assassination attempt, emergency personnel at the rally were mostly focused on attending to people suffering from heat-related illnesses.TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT AFTER SECRET SERVICE FAILURES PROMPTS CALLS FOR DRASTIC AGENT RECRUITMENT CHANGESHawley, who visited the rally site on July 19, noted that the AGR building in question was about 150 yards or fewer from the main stage of Trump’s rally.TRUMP SHOOTING: TIMELINE OF ASSASSINATION ATTEMPTWhile Congress has confirmed that Crooks purchased a ladder at Home Depot prior to the rally shooting that left 50-year-old firefighter and father Corey Comperatore dead and two others — 57-year-old David Dutch and 74-year-old James Copenhaver — critically wounded, he could have accessed the roof of the AGR building without a ladder. Lawmakers who visited the site on Monday were able to reach the roof without a ladder. The same whistleblower told Hawley that multiple law enforcement personnel were also assigned to patrol the perimeter of the building « to make sure that somebody couldn’t just jump up » onto the roof, possibly from one of the air-conditioning units jutting out from the windows of the building, the senator said. »All of these whistleblowers who’ve now come forward to my office, saying things like: law enforcement was assigned to be on the roof, and they weren’t. They were assigned to be patrolling the perimeter of that building, and they weren’t. They were supposed to be communicating over a common radio frequency, and they weren’t, » Hawley said. « I have to say, none of that surprises me because it is just astounding with those kind of failures and errors that this 20-year-old was able to get up on in plain view of everybody onto that low-slung roof and take multiple shots at the [former] president. »AIR FORCE VETERAN AT TRUMP RALLY SAYS ‘SOMETHING WASN’T RIGHT’ BEFORE WOULD-BE ASSASSIN OPENED FIREApproximately one hour passed between the time law enforcement officials first identified a suspicious person near the rally grounds and the time Crooks fired. Officials temporarily lost sight of the suspicious person, but then around 5:52 p.m., a sniper « had eyes on him, » which was about 20 minutes before the gunfire rang out, Hawley said, citing a briefing he attended with former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle last week. The whistleblower also told Hawley that the Secret Service had delegated the AGR building and the roof to local or state law enforcement but noted that both local and federal officials have been pushing blame onto one another.PENNSYLVANIA OFFICERS NOT ALLOWED IN SECRET SERVICE COMMAND CENTER AT TRUMP RALLY, LAWMAKERS SAY ON SITE »There’s a lot of effort on the part of both Secret Service, on the one hand, and DHS on the other hand, and then also state and local law enforcement to push the responsibility off onto each other. So this is just why we need to get these facts into the open. We need to have real and substantive hearings, not like the one [on Monday] where the former Secret Service director wouldn’t even respond to questions. What a farce that was, » Hawley said. His comments came the same day Cheatle resigned from her position on Tuesday morning. »To the Men and Women of the U.S. Secret Service, The Secret Service’s solemn mission is to protect our nation’s leaders and financial infrastructure, » Cheatle wrote in a letter to the agency obtained by Fox News. « On July 13th, we fell short on that mission. »TRUMP SHOOTING SITE GIVES BIRDS-EYE VIEW OF ‘DISORGANIZED’ RALLY SCENE, WITNESSES SAYCheatle said that the « scrutiny » over the last week « has been intense and will continue to remain as our operational tempo increases. » WATCH: EYEWITNESS SHARES NEW FOOTAGE OF TRUMP SHOOTING »As your Director, I take full responsibility for the security lapse, » she wrote. Now, Hawley is calling for Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to resign, as well. »Alejandro Mayorkas needs to resign. He’s the head of DHS. All of this is in his purview — Secret Service, the DHS personnel, » the Missouri senator said. « Another whistleblower tells me that most of the federal security there that day were not Secret Service. Most of them were DHS personnel who had just been detailed over to this event for the day. And they were largely not prepared, not read into the security plan, and were not executing their duties according to what the plan called for. »TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT: BUTLER, PENNSYLVANIA TOWN MANAGER DEFENDS POLICE AMID RESPONSE ‘MISCONCEPTION’Hawley suggested the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is overwhelmed under Mayorkas’ leadership over the agency. A DHS spokesperson said the agency « cannot comment on matters related to an ongoing investigation. We, of course, are committed to working with the appropriate and relevant investigations of what happened on Saturday, including with Congress, the Inspector General, and both internal and independent reviews. »The Secret Service did not respond to an inquiry from Fox News Digital regarding Hawley’s comments. »I think the fact that you have so many of these DHS security folks, a lot of them are designated as investigators — DHS investigators — whose jobs are actually to be out in on the ground in the continental United States, searching for illegals, looking for crime. So many of them have been sent to the southern border. So there aren’t that many of them available to begin with. And then you’re pulling people off of other responsibilities and sending them to this rally. They’re not adequately briefed. They’re not trained to do that, » Hawley said. Mayorkas on Sunday announced that he has tapped a bipartisan panel of law enforcement experts to conduct a 45-day independent review of the assassination attempt. »The men and women of the U.S. Secret Service make it the greatest protective service in the world, with one of the most solemn and difficult missions in government, » the DHS secretary said. « This independent review will make the organization even better. »Hawley’s office continues to communicate with whistleblowers about the Trump rally shooting and what went wrong in order for Crooks to gain access to the AGR building rooftop that evening with an AR-15.

Hiker’s death in Utah spotlights need for safety protocols on the trail

[ad_1]

A female hiker died on Sunday on a trail near near Quail Creek State Park in southern Utah, according to local reports. The woman, 56, who was not identified in the report, had sent out a distress call regarding lack of water and high temperatures, but by the time police arrived, she was unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene. The local temperature was 106 degrees Fahrenheit when the woman’s death was reported.FIREFIGHTERS CARRY 160-POUND DOG DOWN OREGON MOUNTAIN AFTER PUP IS INJURED ON TRAILThis recent hiking death and others, many of them heat-related, have spotlighted the need for safety protocols. While experts agree that hiking is considered a good form of exercise, they stress the importance of being prepared before heading out on the trail, especially during the hot summer months.Outdoor enthusiasts shared the following important tips to help prevent hiking hazards. Before heading out on a hike, familiarize yourself with maps, landmarks and any restricted areas or required permits, say trail experts. »Research the terrain, trail difficulty, weather conditions and local wildlife, » Joey Coe, a trip leader for Backroads, a California-based travel touring company, told Fox News Digital. Coe also suggested saving a photo of the trail map on your phone to reference while hiking.Although cell phones and mapping apps can be helpful, it is important to have a backup paper map in the event of a lost signal, according to Guy deBrun, a lecturer at the Hart School of Hospitality, Sport & Recreation Management at James Madison University in Virginia. WHAT IS A DERECHO? HERE’S A METEOROLOGICAL EXPLANATION AND OTHER INTERESTING FACTS »Knowledge of how to use a paper map is imperative, » deBrun, who is also an instructor in wilderness first aid, told Fox News Digital in an email.Hikers should also know the difficulty level of the planned route, according to the American Hiking Society, a nonprofit based in Silver Springs, Maryland. « It’s also helpful to identify possible emergency exit points, » Maggie Peikon, manager of communications with the American Hiking Society, told Fox News Digital via email. Online forums and trail reviews can also provide valuable information about the terrain, she added.Whether you are setting off alone or with a group, let someone know your expected time frame for arriving at predetermined spots along the trail, experts recommend. One approach is to create a « time control plan, » which considers linear distance and elevation. A general rule of thumb is to travel two miles per hour, adding one mile for every 1,000 feet of elevation gain. « Most novices fail to plan for elevation gain, » deBrun told Fox News Digital.  TIKTOK TRENDING QUESTION ABOUT ‘BEING STUCK IN A FOREST’ WITH ‘A MAN OR A BEAR’ YIELDS STRATEGIC TIPS »One thousand feet of elevation gain adds one mile to your total mileage. New video shows assassination attempt of Trump at Pennsylvania rally

[ad_1]

New video footage shot by a rally goer shows the assassination attempt on former President Trump before a sniper took out the shooter after he opened fire.Jon Malice shot the footage as he and his family watched the campaign event in Butler, Pennsylvania, next to the American Glass Research (AGR) building, which Thomas Matthew Crooks was able to scale to a clear line of sight to Trump, who suffered injuries to his ear from the shooting. One spectator was killed and several others were injured in the incident.Crooks, 20, appeared to fire eight shots before he was killed by sniper fire. »I noticed about two minutes before the shooting started, the people were starting to say, ‘hey, he’s climbing up here, he’s crawling around, he’s doing this, he’s doing that, » Malice told Fox News. « We just kind of ignored it because we thought it was some person trying to get a better view. »ROOFTOP BODYCAM VIDEO SHOWS CONFUSION AMONG OFFICIALS, RIFLE SHOOTER USED IN DEADLY ATTEMPT ON TRUMP »I want to say three, then maybe five [rounds were heard], » he added. « And then I heard the two counter sniper rounds. »Fox News was told by a source that one shot came from a local sniper, while the other came from a Secret Service sniper, which was ultimately the kill shot.Malice, a military veteran, said he was surprised by the lack of security around the event site. « One of the first things I noticed when we walked up, none of us have been vetted, » he said. « We’re all along the fence. We all have view of the stage. We can see Trump. »Malice also said all the witnesses near the AGR building did not have to go through metal detectors because they were outside the rally site, despite having a clear and close view of Trump. One video Malice captured was taken by a dash camera. »We were just looking for parking because everything was blocked off, » Malice said when asked to explain what he saw when the video was taken. « But this particular road here, I noticed a lot of cars were parking there. So we just kept driving around and we thought it was safe. And, as I was going back to my videos later, I noticed somebody who looked like crooks crossing the street and zoomed in on it. »SECRET SERVICE DIRECTOR CHEATLE RESIGNS AFTER MOUNTING PRESSURE IN WAKE OF TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT »Turned out it really was him, » he said. « So it’s a video of him, we think leaving his vehicle. There was a gray Hyundai, looked like a Sonata, that was parked there … He wasn’t carrying anything. He was just in his, you know, just his regular clothes. No backpack or anything. Just walking to the building. And then about two minutes after that, somebody else shot a video of him on that side of the building, through the fence. »Malice said one video he has shows Crooks pointing his rifle at him. »Right before he was shot by Secret Service, he had rolled over, got up, » he said. « I have a picture of him with his rifle up and his rifle turned towards me and the other guys that were standing behind the tree, and at that second Secret Service shot him. »He also said he was surprised that Secret Service was not on the roof Crooks was stationed on.

Sean Hannity: Primary votes for Biden have been ‘flushed down the toilet’

[ad_1]

Fox News host Sean Hannity calls out the Democratic Party’s « coup » in President Biden withdrawing from the 2024 election on « Hannity. » SEAN HANNITY: Now, apparently, according to the New York Post and other sources, Joe’s decision to drop out was, in fact, coerced. One top Democrat telling Politico « Nancy Pelosi made it very clear that Biden could do it the easy way or the hard way. » Sounds like the mob! Anyway, he continued, « She gave him three weeks of the easy way. It was about to be the hard way. » JEAN-PIERRE CLASHES WITH REPORTERS PRESSING HER ABOUT NEUROLOGIST’S WHITE HOUSE VISITS: ‘I DO TAKE OFFENSE’ There is even speculation that Pelosi and others were threatening to trigger the 25th amendment and remove Biden from office if he did not comply to the elites in his party and so much for Pelosi’s lie on MSDNC, she supports whatever decision he makes. Make no mistake, this was a coup inside the Democratic Party.  The millions of primary votes around the country for Joe Biden have been flushed down the toilet, rendered meaningless, completely disenfranchised by Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Barack Obama, other DC Hollywood big donor elites, these same Democratic overlords then unilaterally selected Joe’s replacement and that’s Kamala Harris, at least as of tonight.

Video shows Terrell Davis getting taken off United Airlines flight by FBI agent

[ad_1]

NFL legend Terrell Davis was taken off a United Airlines flight by the FBI on July 13.The Denver Broncos Hall of Famer was handcuffed after he said he tried to get a flight attendant’s attention when his son was not heard asking for a cup of ice. »I calmly reached behind me and lightly tapped his arm to get his attention to again ask for a cup of ice for my son, » Davis said.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMDavis said the flight attendant shouted, « Don’t hit me! » and he was later taken away in handcuffs when the flight landed. The video does not show the initial interaction, but rather, an FBI agent speaking with Davis, who eventually gets up out of his seat. The same agent places his right hand on Davis’ right shoulder-blade, after giving a tablet to a woman, while they walk off the plane together. It’s unclear whether Davis is handcuffed in the video. »This video confirms the harrowing tale of multiple law enforcement agents, including the FBI, boarding the plane and apprehending a shocked, terrified, humiliated, and compliant Mr. Davis in front of his wife, Tamiko, minor children, and more than one hundred passengers, » Parker Stinar, managing partner of Stinar Gould Grieco & Hensley said in a statement. « The rationale behind the United Airlines employee’s deceitful or inaccurate report extends far beyond a mere ice request or innocent tap on the shoulder. This is why we will be filing a lawsuit because only through legal proceedings can we uncover the truth and make United Airlines answer for the systemic shortcomings that culminated in this traumatic incident, causing irreparable harm and enduring suffering for the Davis family. »Davis described the flight as « ordinary, » until beverage service began. The former NFL player said he was reading a magazine and his two sons seated in the row with him were preoccupied with their tablets.VIKINGS HONORING KHYREE JACKSON, WHO DIED IN CAR CRASH, WITH SPECIAL DECALS FOR 2024 SEASON »They were busy playing with the iPad so they didn’t respond. And I remember the tone got a little bit more aggressive. And I was like ‘Man, that was kind of rude for him to ask my kids like that.’ »Davis said in his statement on Monday that law enforcement determined the flight attendant’s retelling of the events was « inaccurate » and they « profusely apologized. » United Airlines released a statement, according to ABC, stating that the flight attendant was removed from duty as they investigate the incident.Davis, 51, said it was a « disgusting display of injustice and deplorable treatment. » »I thought nothing of it other than this particular employee was incredibly rude and blatantly wrong in his accusations of me hitting him, » Davis said in a social media post. »I felt demoralized. I felt embarrassed, humiliated. I felt like my dignity was stripped from me right in front of my children and my family, » he said. « I want United to be held accountable. »Fox News’ Paulina Dedaj and Scott Thompson contributed to this report.Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Harris’ backing of bail fund during George Floyd protests dampens Trump ‘prosecutor’ campaign pitch

[ad_1]

Vice President Kamala Harris is working overtime to prove she has what it takes to not only defeat former President Donald Trump in the 2024 election but also in the courtroom, even as a bail fund she once backed to help free violent criminals appears to still be taking in donations.Speaking at a campaign event on Monday, Harris, the presumptive Democratic nominee for president, reflected on the work she consumed herself with before serving in the U.S. Senate and as vice president, which included a seven-year stint as the district attorney for San Francisco. »I was the elected attorney general, as I’ve mentioned, of California. Before that, I was a courtroom prosecutor, » she said from Wilmington, Delaware. « In those roles, I took on perpetrators of all kinds — predators who abused women, fraudsters who ripped off consumers, cheaters who broke the rules for their own gain. » »So hear me when I say, I know Donald Trump’s type, » she added. « In this campaign, I will proudly… put my record against his. »KAMALA HARRIS-BACKED ‘FREEDOM FUND’ THAT PUT MURDERERS, RAPISTS BACK ON STREETS STILL UP AND RUNNINGHarris’ remarks, which she amplified on X, came one day after President Biden announced he would not seek re-election to the White House.Asked whether Harris planned to take on Trump in court using her prosecutorial experience, Harris campaign spokesperson James Singer told Fox News Digital, « No. The vice president was highlighting to the American people the truth: Donald Trump has been found guilty of 34 felonies, liable for sexual abuse, and a fraud judgment obligated him to pay a $175 million penalty. » »She has firsthand experience prosecuting people like Donald Trump: predators who abused women, fraudsters who ripped off consumers, cheaters who broke the rules for their own gain, » Singer added. But Harris’ tough talk about serving as a prosecutor in California may crumble quickly due to her past support for the Minnesota Freedom Fund in June 2020 amid Black Lives Matter riots following the death of George Floyd.During her 2020 campaign for president, which lasted for less than 11 months, Harris supported the bail fund that helped violent criminals get out of prison. As of Monday night, the website was running and accepting payments. »If you’re able to, chip in now to the @MNFreedomFund to help post bail for those protesting on the ground in Minnesota, » Harris posted on X, then Twitter, back in 2020, urging people to donate to the fund during the 2020 campaign.Harris — a large opponent of the cash bail system during her previous presidential campaign — promoted the bail fund in June 2020 to help bail Black Lives Matter rioters out of jail, but only a fraction of the more than $41 million actually went to freeing rioters.Minneapolis station FOX 9 reported that the fund spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to free an alleged knife murderer and a convicted rapist who was facing charges of sexual assault and kidnapping, among others.Another criminal, George Howard, 48, also reaped the benefits of the funds. He allegedly became involved in a road rage altercation on an Interstate 94 entrance ramp before he shot another driver, according to Minneapolis police — weeks after bailing out on domestic assault charges.DEMS HYPE HARRIS AS TRUMP ‘PROSECUTOR’ IN ELECTION, BUT CRITICS SLAM HER LEGAL CAREERSurveillance video recorded the moments when the driver of a blue BMW confronted Howard, who was driving a white Volvo, according to St. Paul’s KSTP-TV. The victim can be seen punching Howard, then collapsing. The victim, later identified as Luis Damian Martinez Ortiz, 38, got back into his car, then drove into the median. He was pronounced dead at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest, according to city officials.Howard had been out on $11,500 bond in connection with a domestic assault case since Aug. 6, court records show. That’s when the Minnesota Freedom Fund bailed him out.The Minnesota Freedom Fund admitted to its role in putting Howard back on the streets. »We are aware of reports of the tragic and fatal shooting in Minneapolis earlier this week allegedly involving George Howard, an individual the Minnesota Freedom Fund had previously provided with bail support, » the group wrote on social media at the time. « MFF believes that every individual who has been arrested by the law enforcement is innocent until proven guilty, and if a judge deems them eligible for bail, they should not have to wait in jail simply because they don’t have the same income or access to resources as others. »Harris called for an end to the « unjust and broken » cash bail system during her 2020 campaign, claiming it « disproportionately harms people from low-income communities and communities of color. »Harris, however, had different feelings during her tenure as district attorney in 2004, when she appeared to suggest the need to raise cash bail prices because the county « require[d] people who have been arrested to pay a lot less than other counties, » according to a Washington Free Beacon report. »On a daily basis, the work I have to do and where I have to put my mind in terms of my priorities is on things like sitting down with Russ [Guintini] my chief assistant and talking with him about the fact we are going to change the bail schedule in San Francisco, » Harris said at the time, according to the outlet. « We are in the process of asking the bench, the judiciary, to reevaluate the fact that we require people who have been arrested to pay a lot less than other counties. »During her 2020 campaign, which she launched in January 2019, Harris faced significant criticism over her prosecution record. Opponents of tough-on-crime prosecution argue it disproportionately affects low-income families and minorities, further entrenching them in the prison system. One of the most criticized aspects of Harris’ record was her handling of truancy cases. Harris supported a truancy law, passed in 2011, allowing district attorneys to charge parents with a misdemeanor if their children were chronically absent during the school year without a valid reason. On Monday evening, after claiming enough delegates to win her party’s nomination for president, Harris said she intends to « unite » the Democratic Party ahead of the Nov. 5 election. »Over the next few months, I will be traveling across the country talking to Americans about everything that is on the line. I fully intend to unite our party, unite our nation, and defeat Donald Trump in November, » she said.Fox News Digital’s Jamie Joseph and Stepheny Price contributed to this report.
