MSNBC guest claims Latinos ‘want to be White’ while discussing their shift towards GOP

[ad_1]

MSNBC guest Maria Hinojosa, founder of Futoro Media, claimed on Sunday that Latino voters want to be White while discussing the voting bloc’s shift towards the Republican Party over the last few years. »She has a 14-point lead but it has been shrinking after each consecutive presidential election from 2016. Why is that? Why is the Democratic share of the Latino vote shrinking? » MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart asked of Vice President Kamala Harris’ lead among Latino voters.A NBC-Telemundo poll released Sunday found that while Harris was leading Trump among Latino voters, the Democratic advantage has sunk to its lowest level in the past four election cycles. « And what I said to you when we asked a question was, Latinos want to be White. They want to be with the cool kids, » she said, adding that Latinos she’s spoken with say Trump is a good businessman. FOX NEWS POLL: VOTERS CITE HIGH PRICES AS BIGGEST MOTIVATOR TO VOTE »No he’s not, he had bankruptcies, » she added. « But they don’t want to be identified with all of those other immigrants that Donald Trump speaks so badly of, including me as a Mexican immigrant. »Hinojosa went on to say that those voters could cost Harris the election. « But those numbers? They could cost Kamala Harris the election. Everything that I’ve been saying that Latinos could push her over the top, these are the numbers that could also take her down, » she said. According to the NBC poll, Harris had 54% support among Latino voters, compared to Trump, who had 40%. CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTUREAnother 6% said they weren’t sure or would not vote, according to the poll.CNN’s Harry Enten recently warned that Harris was struggling among voters of color. »Hispanic voters, four years ago, Joe Biden won that vote 66% in the Sun Belt, » he said. « Look at where we are now, Kamala Harris at just 52%, so Kamala Harris struggling among Hispanic voters. Donald Trump doing considerably better than he did four years ago. »CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPEnten said on Tuesday that Harris was getting 82% of the Black vote, but that it was down from President Biden, who had gotten 92%. « So the bottom line is, in the Sun Belt, which is much more diverse than the northern battleground states up in the Great Lakes, Kamala Harris is struggling among voters of color, » he added.

NY Times endorses Kamala Harris, chooses Democrat in 17th straight presidential election

[ad_1]

The New York Times continued its 64-year streak of supporting Democrats for president over Republicans by endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris this week. »Kamala Harris is the only choice, » The New York Times editorial board wrote in an article from Monday headlined, « The only patriotic choice for president. » This is the 17th straight election that the outlet has supported a Democratic candidate for president over a Republican, with the outlet’s continuous blue streak beginning in 1960 with John F. Kennedy. The last Republican it backed was President Dwight D. Eisenhower, when he successfully ran for re-election in 1956.NEW YORK TIMES REPORT RIPS VICE PRESIDENT HARRIS’ ‘FRIENDLY’ MSNBC INTERVIEW: ‘ROUNDABOUT RESPONSES' »This unequivocal, dispiriting truth — Donald Trump is not fit to be president — should be enough for any voter who cares about the health of our country and the stability of our democracy to deny him re-election, » the editorial board wrote. « For this reason, regardless of any political disagreements voters might have with her, Kamala Harris is the only patriotic choice for president, » The Times wrote. Harris, The Times continued, is not a « perfect candidate » but is a « more than necessary alternative » to Trump on issues like the economy, immigration, and America’s international alliances. « She has committed to using the power of her office to help Americans better afford the things they need, to make it easier to own a home, to support small businesses and to help workers. Mr. Trump’s economic priorities are more tax cuts, which would benefit mostly the wealthy, and more tariffs, which will make prices even more unmanageable for the poor and middle class, » the board wrote. The Times acknowledged that some voters are concerned over Harris’ press avoidance strategy. »Many voters have said they want more details about the vice president’s plans, as well as more unscripted encounters in which she explains her vision and policies, » The Times wrote. « They are right to ask. Given the stakes of this election, Ms. Harris may think that she is running a campaign designed to minimize the risks of an unforced error — answering journalists’ questions and offering greater policy detail could court controversy, after all — under the belief that being the only viable alternative to Mr. Trump may be enough to bring her to victory. » NEW YORK TIMES REPORT ADMITS ‘INTERVIEWS ARE A WEAKNESS’ FOR KAMALA HARRIS »That strategy may ultimately prove winning, but it’s a disservice to the American people and to her own record, » the editorial board continued. « And leaving the public with a sense that she is being shielded from tough questions, as Mr. Biden has been, could backfire by undermining her core argument that a capable new generation stands ready to take the reins of power. »The endorsement doesn’t come as a surprise. In 2016, the Times’ liberal board declared Trump to be the worst major party nominee in the nation’s history and has continued to speak out vehemently against him since then. It endorsed Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden against him in the past two elections.During its lengthy streak of supporting Democrats, the Times has endorsed such candidates as George McGovern in 1972, Walter Mondale in 1984 and Michael Dukakis in 1988, who all were defeated in electoral landslides. The Trump campaign was unconcerned. »An endorsement from the New York Times is about as useful as a moldy old dishrag that hasn’t been cleaned in years, » Trump Campaign Communications Director Steven Cheung told Fox News Digital in a statement. « They had to apologize in 2016 for misleading their readers and completely misreading President Trump’s historic victory, but it seems like they still haven’t learned their lesson. Kamala Harris is endorsed by the Fake News because she is fake, a phony, and unfit for office. »The Harris campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital. The Times isn’t alone in major newspapers having blatantly Democratic-favoring editorial boards. The Washington Post began endorsing presidential candidates in 1976 and has never supported the Republican hopeful.Fox News’ Brian Flood and David Rutz contributed to this report.

NYC Mayor Eric Adams pledges to ‘reign’ not resign in pair of church appearances

[ad_1]

New York City Mayor Eric Adams spent Sunday praising God and pledging not to resign.

Rather, the Democratic mayor, under federal indictment for allegedly soliciting illegal campaign donations from foreign entities and falsifying paper trails to cover them up, said he is « going to reign, » according to the New York Post. Adams spoke to the congregation of the Emmanuel Presbyterian Reformed Church in The Bronx for about 30 minutes, and refused to answer reporter’s questions afterward, the Post reports. « God placed me in this moment and placed in my heart to continue to move this city forward, » Adams said on Sunday. « And so you’ll hear the small number of loud people saying, ‘But he should step down.’ No, I’m going to step up. I’m not going to resign. I’m not going to resign. I’m going to reign. »BILL MAHER SUGGESTS ERIC ADAMS IS GETTING ROUGH TREATMENT: ‘THEY’RE COMING DOWN ON HIM A LITTLE HARD’The Post also states that on Monday morning, Adams’ legal team filed a motion to dismiss the bribery charge from the federal indictment. The charge accuses Adams of accepting luxury travel bribes in 2021 and 2022 in exchange for the New York City Fire Department to allow the 36-story Turkevi Center, also known as the Turkish House, to go through despite fire safety concerns.According to the indictment, federal investigators were looking into whether Adams’ 2021 and 2025 mayoral campaigns conspired with Turkish officials, business leaders and other entities to illegally raise funds. Court documents allege wrongdoing as far back as 2016. »Despite the fact that the indictment reproduces quotes from messages, emails, and conversations for numerous other points, it does not allege any specific exchanges or conversations in which Adams and the Turkish official entered into this purported quid pro quo agreement, » his legal team wrote, according to the Post. FEDS SEIZE ERIC ADAMS’ PHONE AFTER NYC MAYOR’S INDICTMENTAdams allegedly defrauded taxpayers for $10 million over the past decade and frequently took free or steeply discounted vacations bankrolled by his foreign benefactors.Adams released a video statement saying any charges filed against him would be « entirely false, based on lies, » and he insinuated that his criticism of the Biden administration’s disastrous border policies made him a target for retaliation. »The federal government did nothing as its broken immigration policies overloaded our shelter system with no relief, » he said in a video statement. « I put the people of New York before party and politics. »ADAMS OFFICE LASHES OUT AT FBI EMPLOYEE WHO MIGHT HAVE ‘IMPROPERLY LEAKED DETAILS’ OF CORRUPTION PROBEInvestigators denied the claim that the case was political retaliation during a news briefing Thursday.Adams is due back in court on Wednesday for a conference before U.S. District Judge Dale E. Ho, who the TV station says will preside over the case going forward, according to FOX 5 New York. CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPHe could face up to 45 years in prison if convicted of all charges, which include one count of conspiracy to receive campaign contributions from foreign nationals and to commit wire fraud and bribery, one count of wire fraud, two counts of soliciting campaign contributions from foreign nationals and one count of soliciting and accepting a bribe.

Liberal author urges Biden to ‘dissolve’ Supreme Court before leaving office: ‘It’s Trump’s harem’

[ad_1]

Liberal author Fran Lebowitz called on President Biden to « dissolve » the Supreme Court during a discussion with « Real Time » host Bill Maher. In an interview Saturday, Lebowitz, 73, railed against the high court, calling it « Trump’s harem » while blasting the presidential immunity ruling in the case involving the former president. »It’s so disgraceful, this court, that it shouldn’t even be allowed to be called the Supreme Court, » she said. « It isn’t. It’s an insult to Motown to call it the Supreme Court. It’s not even a court…basically, it’s a harem. It’s Trump’s harem.DEMOCRAT FLOATS THEORY BIDEN COULD DISPATCH MILITARY TO ‘TAKE OUT’ CONSERVATIVE JUSTICES UNDER IMMUNITY RULING »When they passed that law, that ruling, where they said ‘you’re not the president, you’re the king,’ which is what that ruling is, you can do whatever you want, you can never be held responsible, I thought, ‘You know, Biden is still the president. No one seems to notice,' » she said. « But I think Biden should dissolve the Supreme Court. »Maher pushed back, « dissolve the Supreme Court? Come on. » »I’m the president, I’m the king now, like you said, and go home,' » Lebowitz replied.
« Okay. Good to see you’re centrist, » Maher retorted sarcastically before changing the topic. The Supreme Court issued a pivotal ruling in the presidential immunity case against former President Trump in July, declaring that a former president has substantial immunity from prosecution for official acts committed while in office, but not for unofficial acts. The move by the conservative-dominated court – including three justices nominated by Trump – means that the trial judge in the lower court case against Trump will now have to hold hearings on whether the charges against Trump were based on official acts by the then-president or unofficial ones. Trump celebrated the ruling as « brilliantly written and wise » at the time, calling it a « big win for our Constitution and for democracy. »MAHER RIPS RAPPER’S PROFANITY LACED TIRADE AGAINST USA: ‘SURE IT WAS A BIG HIT WITH THE QUEERS FOR GAZA CROWD’President Biden labeled it a « dangerous precedent » while calling for new reforms to the Supreme Court, including term limits and a new code of conduct, and to draft a new constitutional amendment that limits presidential immunity. Lebowitz, an author and speaker best known for her appearances on « The Late Show with David Letterman, » has a history of making extreme statements against Trump. In 2019, she suggested on « Real Time » that impeachment wasn’t enough to discipline Trump. »Certainly, he deserves to be impeached. I mean, impeachment is just the beginning of what he deserves. Not even scratching the surface of what he deserves, » Lebowitz said. « Whenever I think about this and what he really deserves, I think, ‘We should turn him over to the Saudis, you know, his buddies. The same Saudis who got rid of that reporter, you know. Maybe they can do the same for him.' »Her remark was in reference to the 2018 murder of Washington Post writer Jamal Khashoggi, who is believed to have been tortured and dismembered with a bone saw, purportedly under the orders of the Saudi government. She later apologized for the comments after facing widespread backlash. »I saw your face when I said it. I didn’t even realize that I said it. I had twelve cups of coffee, » Lebowitz told Maher. « I regret saying it. » »You know, everyone’s too, too, too, too …  » Maher told the panel. « I mean, it’s a live show. You really don’t want to see the president dismembered by the Saudis. I don’t like Donald Trump either. … but no matter who the president is, we don’t want physical harm, » Maher said at the time.Fox News’ Joseph Wulfsohn contributed to this report.

Mets-Braves doubleheader to determine final NL Wild Card teams in dramatic fashion

[ad_1]

For most teams in MLB, the regular season has come to an end, and they know whether postseason baseball is in their future or not. But for the New York Mets and Atlanta Braves, NL East rivals, a Monday doubleheader will determine the postseason fate of three teams, as the Arizona Diamondbacks will be watching intently. The American League bracket has been set, but the National League Wild Card is coming down to the two final games of the regular season between the Mets and Braves, which is a doubleheader due to Hurricane Helene impacting the southeast United States. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMAfter those three teams played on Sunday, we now know the scenarios each team needs to reach the postseason. Sunday’s games set everything in motion as the Atlanta Braves fell to the Kansas City Royals, an AL Wild Card team, while the Mets beat the NL Central-winning Milwaukee Brewers and the Diamondbacks downed the San Diego Padres, who have an NL Wild Card. WHITE SOX LOSE 121ST GAME OF THE SEASON, SETTING NEW MLB RECORDSo, this was the « chaos scenario, » as none of the three teams were able to secure a postseason berth, meaning everything relies on what happens in these two games on Monday. First, for the Mets and Braves, one win in either game will grant them a spot to play October baseball. So, even if the Mets or Braves lose Game 1 on Monday, there is still a chance to continue playing this season in Game 2. Meanwhile, the Diamondbacks will be rooting for whoever wins Game 1 because they need a sweep by either team to have the chance to defend their National League pennant from a season ago. There was a world this weekend where the Mets, if they won at least two out of three against the Brewers, didn’t have to sweat out a doubleheader on the road to determine their playoff spot. And while the Braves took two out of three from the Royals, a clean sweep would’ve meant the doubleheader was a moot point, except for trying to keep their division rival from making the cut. But the Mets and Braves are in a position the Diamondbacks envy – no team wants their playoff fate to rest in the hands of two other teams. In the first game, the Mets will be turning to Tylor Megill to start the game on the mound, while Spencer Schwellenbach will be going for the Braves. Game 2 has not yet been determined for starters on either side, but the Braves do have their ace, Chris Sale, ready to go if they need him to pitch. If the Braves win the first game, Sale will likely be saved for Game 1 of the Wild Card series later this week. It might not be playoff baseball, but everyone in MLB will be watching these two rivals going at it at 1:10 p.m. in Truist Park to see who will round out the NL Wild Card in thrilling fashion.Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

COVID lockdowns led to spike in kids’ vision problems, 1 in 3 now nearsighted, study finds

[ad_1]

As many as 30% of children and teens across the world were nearsighted in 2023, a new study has revealed.Diagnoses of nearsightedness (myopia) are expected to worsen over the next two decades, according to the findings, which were published in the British Journal of Ophthalmology.By 2050, nearly 740 million young individuals worldwide are expected to have the condition, lead study author Dr. Yajun Chen, a professor at Sun Yat-sen University in China, told Fox News Digital.‘PICKLEBALL SAVED MY SIGHT,’ SAYS FLORIDA WOMAN, 79: ‘I WAS REALLY WORRIED’ »The study also highlights significant disparities in myopia rates across different regions, suggesting that factors such as gender, ethnicity and culture play a crucial role, » he said. »Understanding these variations is crucial for tailoring prevention and intervention strategies to specific at-risk populations. »In the study, researchers analyzed 276 studies that included more than 5.4 million participants from 50 countries across all six continents. Rates of nearsightedness were highest in East Asia (35.22%), in urban areas (28.55%), among females (33.57%), among adolescents (47%) and among high school students (45.71%), the study found.ASK A DOCTOR: ‘IS IT SAFE TO SWIM UNDERWATER WITH MY EYES OPEN?’Myopia can progress rapidly during critical growth periods, particularly in children and adolescents, Chen noted. There was a significant spike in myopia after the COVID-19 pandemic, research has shown. »During the pandemic, many countries implemented nationwide lockdowns to curb the spread of the virus, » he said. »Prolonged indoor living reduced outdoor activity for children and adolescents while increasing screen time, potentially exacerbating the ocular burden on this population and worsening the myopia crisis. »NEBRASKA BABY BORN WITH CATARACTS HAS 3 EYE SURGERIES TO SAVE HER SIGHT: ‘I JUST KEPT PRAYING’Dr. Marc Siegel, senior medical analyst for Fox News and clinical professor of medicine at NYU Langone Medical Center, was not involved in the study but commented on the findings. »Diet may play a role, but I think the greatest reason for the increase, especially coming out of the pandemic, is due to lockdowns and being indoors more, » he told Fox News Digital. With increased screen time, kids and teens have fewer opportunities for the eye muscles to have to adapt, Siegel said. »For example, going back and forth from looking close to looking far, and accommodating to light by going from indoors to outdoors, and talking to people in person — all of those exercise the small eye muscles that keep you from getting nearsighted, » he added.Dr. Jesse Willingham, an optometrist at Brighter Outlook Vision in North Charleston, South Carolina, warned that unaddressed vision problems can have several significant consequences for children, including academic problems, social and emotional struggles, behavioral issues and long-term eye health issues. « We all understand that being able to see clearly is important for school, but there are many different visual skills we need for learning, » Willingham, who was not involved in the study, told Fox News Digital. »Nearsightedness is the most common developmental vision problem, but early vision problems can start with tracking difficulties, poor ability to adapt the focus of the eyes or use the two eyes as a team, or other functional problems that arise from too much stress on the visual system at an early age, » he added. The study did have some limitations, Chen acknowledged. »The major limitation of the included studies is the disparity in the designs and methods utilized, » he said. »The quality of included epidemiologic studies varied significantly within and among the reviews, ranging from high to low risk of bias. »There is also a possibility of « uneven distribution of data » among countries within any given continent, Chen said. »As a result, our reported findings might be biased because they were mainly influenced by data from a limited number of countries. »Studies included in the analysis also varied in terms of criteria and procedures for assessing nearsightedness, Chen noted.Creating a supportive environment at home and in schools can encourage children to adopt healthy habits that protect their vision, the researchers said.Experts offered the following interventions to help reduce the prevalence of myopia among youth.Families should prioritize outdoor playtime, Chen recommended. »Schools can organize outdoor activities and encourage sports, creating a culture that values physical engagement and natural light exposure, » he said. For very young children who haven’t started school yet, Willingham recommends only allowing screen time when video-chatting with friends and family. CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR HEALTH NEWSLETTER »For school-aged children, matching screen time one-to-one with outdoor time and limiting screen sessions to no more than 20 minutes at a time are good rules of thumb, » he told Fox News Digital. « Also make sure screen time is done ergonomically, with screens held at least 12 inches away and done while maintaining good posture. »Parents should ensure that their children receive regular eye examinations starting at a young age, Chen recommended. « Early detection and intervention is crucial, as untreated myopia can lead to more severe vision problems later in life, » he said. « It’s also beneficial to stay informed about new treatments and technologies aimed at slowing myopia progression, such as specialized contact lenses and eye drops. »It’s important to choose an eye care provider who understands visual development, according to Willingham. For more Health articles, visit www.foxnews.com/health »Developmental optometrists have more training and experience in this area, and are typically affiliated with OVDRA, the Optometric Vision Development and Rehabilitation Association, » he said. »If your child is at high risk of developing nearsightedness or is already nearsighted, consider finding a myopia management specialist through organizations like TreeHouse Eyes. »Engaging with community programs aimed at preventing myopia, such as vision screening events or educational outreach, can help reduce the prevalence, according to Chen.Integrating vision education into school curricula and supporting public health campaigns focused on myopia prevention can also be effective, he added. »By taking these proactive steps, everyone can contribute to reducing the prevalence of myopia and promoting healthier vision for children and adolescents, » Chen said.

Jalen Milroe punished the Bulldogs defense in the first half and came up clutch late in the game with a touchdown pass to Ryan Williams that turned out to be the game-winning score. This was a massive win for Kalen DeBoer as he led Alabama to another win over Georgia with Nick Saban watching from the sidelines. If they play like this, the Crimson Tide will be making a run in the college football playoffs in December. Monmouth: The Hawks are back on the winners list for the second consecutive week after routing the Fordham Rams in a 63-21 beatdown. Saturday’s win marked Monmouth’s third straight win and set a program record for points scored in a half (49), topping the previous record set in 2005. It also set a program record for points scored in a quarter (35), beating the previous mark set in 1998. Running back Sone Ntoh led the offense with 136 rushing yards and five touchdowns. The Hawks have now scored at least 42 points in their last seven wins. Notre Dame: Just when everyone thought their CFP hopes were over due to their tough loss against Northern Illinois, they’re pulling themselves back in after yesterday’s win against No. 15 Louisville. They’re probably not a threat, but maybe they can win out and sneak into a playoff game.Travis Hunter: Hunter has become a legitimate Heisman candidate as he’s helped lead Colorado to a surprising 4-1 start, and Deion Sanders and company are proving they can contend for an expanded playoff spot. There is no player in college football, and really not even in the NFL, who provides the impact Hunter does. It’s more appropriate to compare his impact to that of Shohei Ohtani than any active football player, college or pro.Boise State: With a dominant win over unbeaten Washington State, Boise State has proven it belongs in the AP Top 25, and it is likely to stay there over at least the next two games with winnable matchups against Utah State and Hawaii. Then it has another prove-it game against UNLV. Running back Ashton Jeanty has four career games with over 200 yards rushing, which is tied for a Boise State school record. Jeanty currently leads the nation in rushing yards per game with an average of 195.33.Ryan Williams: If you didn’t know about the 17-year-old phenom for the Crimson Tide entering this weekend, there’s no way you haven’t heard him name after what he was able to do in the win over Georgia.Williams is simply a star, catching just six passes for 1777 yards and a touchdown, a score that included an acrobatic catch, followed by a nifty spin move that saw two Bulldogs defenders hitting each other as he streaked down the right sideline. He’s not even 18 years old yet, but Williams is making noise as a true freshman star as he’s leading the country with yards per reception (28.9).Kentucky: Perhaps the biggest upset of the week is the Wildcats taking down No. 5 Ole Miss, and it came after getting blown out by South Carolina and just losing to Georgia two weeks ago as well. The 20-17 came after Kentucky went 83 yards in just six plays as they trailed 17-13. Then, the Wildcats were able to get a huge stop on Jaxson Dart’s offense with the Rebels. This is just the win the Wildcats needed, as they have a tough schedule with Vanderbilt, Florida and Auburn moving forward before the No. 1 offense in the country, Tennessee, is on the schedule next month.Jalen Milroe: Kirk Herbstreit said it best during the Alabama-Georgia broadcast: There are SEC-caliber players on the field, and the Crimson Tide quarterback was simply having his way running and throwing all over them.Milroe is a frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy and it shows why after what he was able to do against the Bulldogs. He threw for 374 yards, ran for 117 yards and was responsible for four total touchdowns against a team that didn’t allow a single touchdown through three weeks to start the season.Because of his efforts, the Crimson Tide are now the No. 1 team on the AP Top 25 rankings.Tim Walz: The Minnesota governor and one half of the Harris-Walz ticket took in Michigan’s victory over Minnesota over the weekend. Unfortunately, the Golden Gophers couldn’t pick up the upset victory. But to add insult to injury, Walz was booed by some fans at the stadium. He shared a suit with Beto O’Rourke.Replay officials: How replay review overturned Virginia Tech’s walk-off Hail Mary touchdown is quite unbelievable. It took way too long to make the call on the field (Miami began celebrating and then had to stop), and just about everyone was surprised at the final ruling. An incredible college football moment was snatched from us.UCF: All of that hype coming into the game against Colorado was gone by halftime. The Gus Malzahn offense fell apart, and Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter took full advantage of a broken Knights offense. Also, Travis Hunter should be in the Heisman Trophy conversation, but that’s a story for another day. Ole Miss: So much for blowing out competitive competition. Kentucky stormed into Oxford and ripped out the hearts of Rebel fans, along with head coach Lane Kiffin. The loss to the Wildcats doesn’t hurt the playoff chances for the Rebels, but if they continue to play like this, they will catch a few more losses before the regular season ends. Good day to be Kentucky, but a worse day for Ole Miss. Hugh Freeze: Auburn is in a free fall after losing once again, this time to Oklahoma in Michael Hawkins Jr.’s first start at quarterback after replacing Jackson Arnold. The Sooners were down 21-10 in the fourth quarter but forced a few turnovers with a pick-six from Payton Thorne. Now the Tigers are in a tailspin, and I don’t know how they recover. This was another bad look for the Tigers, especially since Oklahoma was without five wide receivers. Things are getting bad on the Plains and for Hugh Freeze.Florida State: A week removed from their first win of the season, the Seminoles were back in the loss column after a brutal 42-16 loss to SMU. Florida State opened in the preseason top 10, but after Saturday, the Seminoles hardly look like contenders in the ACC. For the third time in coach Mike Norvell’s five seasons, Florida State has lost three of its first four games.Carson Beck: Sure, Beck amassed 400 yards, but that’s awfully skewed due to trailing all game (339 in second half). You cannot turn the ball over four times against Alabama and expect to win. These big games is where draft stock goes up and down, especially for someone like Beck who could be among the first-round talent in next year’s draft class. But this game isn’t one to add to the highlight tape, as Beck wasn’t on his best game.Washington: For years, Rutgers had been the « pledging » program of the Big Ten as one of the conference’s more recent additions, paying its dues with less revenue sharing, overmatched by opponents and a basement-dwelling record. But now, Washington is a newcomer in the Big 10 and, even though it’s the national runner-up, losing the first conference game against a historically weak program like Rutgers has to be embarrassing for first-year head coach Jed Fisch and doesn’t set a promising tone about the program’s future in the conference.North Carolina: Mack Brown is officially on the hot seat, as the Tar Heels were unable to take down its rival, Duke, after getting demolished by James Madison a week ago.It was a much closer game this time around, but UNC was on the losing end of the 21-20 finish. When you have to respond to rumors that you might be stepping down after a blowout, things are definitely not going well.Brown could very well be in his last season leading the Tar Heels if things don’t start going in their favor soon.Payton Thorne: The Tigers had all the momentum on their side at home against the Oklahoma Sooners, but that all changed in the fourth quarter when Thorne, the country’s leader in interceptions, threw a pick-six that changed the course of the game.Through four games, Thorne, the fifth-year senior, has six interceptions to 10 touchdowns and the Tigers are now 2-3 and 0-2 in conference play with Georgia looking for it’s get-right game against Auburn this week.Things are not looking good for Thorne and the Tigers right nowThe Fox News Digital Sports college football winners and losers were compiled by the Fox News Digital Sports staff and the OutKick.com staff.

Chiefs fear Rashee Rice has torn ACL after collision with Patrick Mahomes: reports

[ad_1]

The Kansas City Chiefs will wait on the MRI results, but they have a fear star receiver Rashee Rice could be done for the season after a big collision with Patrick Mahomes in the win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. Rice, who was knocked out of Sunday’s game after Mahomes slammed into his right knee while going for a tackle on an interception, is feared to have a torn ACL, according to multiple reports. And Rice’s reaction to his injury said as much when it happened in the first quarter. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMThe star receiver was just trying to limit the damage after Mahomes was picked off by Kristian Fulton when his quarterback also attempted to stop things. However, when Mahomes dove low to hit Fulton, he made contact with Rice instead, and his top target wasn’t expecting it. Rice immediately went down writhing in pain, and after initially being helped to the sideline, the medical cart came over to take him to the locker room. PATRICK MAHOMES ACCIDENTALLY LEVELS RASHEE RICE AFTER INTERCEPTION; CHIEFS WIDE RECEIVER OUT FOR GAMEHe laid in the cart with a towel on his face and hands on his head, which showed his raw emotion in knowing something was wrong. »It’s not good, » Reid told the CBS broadcast at halftime when asked about Rice. After the game, he also sounded bleak about his receiver’s future for the 2024 season. « I feel terrible for Rashee, » he said. « … We will hope for the best. »The Chiefs will have Rice undergo an MRI on Monday, and they expect to have their diagnosis confirmed. This would be a massive loss for the Chiefs, who are already without Hollywood Brown this season after he suffered a season-ending injury before even taking a snap with his new team. Kansas City is also without star running back Isiah Pacheco for weeks after he suffered a fractured fibula against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2. Rice’s return to an NFL field is also murky because of off-the-field problems. He’s awaiting trial on several charges stemming from a high-speed car crash in March on a Texas expressway. Rice could be facing NFL discipline after the legal process. Rice, who didn’t have a catch in this game, would finish the season with 288 yards on 24 receptions with two receiving touchdowns.Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

71 days: Kamala Harris has yet to do formal press conference since emerging as Democratic nominee

[ad_1]

Vice President Kamala Harris has gone 71 days as the presumptive, and now, official Democratic nominee for president without holding an official press conference. Under pressure to sit down for a substantive interview after weeks of stonewalling, Harris finally ended her interview drought last month in Georgia when she was joined by running mate Tim Walz for a pre-taped piece with CNN’s Dana Bash that was a far cry from a traditional press conference. Trump held his third news conference since the beginning of August earlier this month in California, taking the opportunity to roast his opponent’s home state and hold forth on a number of topics, including crime, immigration and inflation.BERNIE SANDERS SAYS HARRIS DROPPING FAR-LEFT POLICIES ‘IN ORDER TO WIN THE ELECTION’Harris has stepped up her interviews in recent weeks, including doing radio hits and a solo sit-down with a Philadelphia TV station. She also spoke to MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle and she made time to hang out with supporter Oprah Winfrey earlier this month at a star-studded campaign event. But as for when she’ll actually do a formal press conference as a candidate, that day may never come, at least while she’s still a candidate.Conservative Radio Libre host Jorge Bonilla feels Harris should do a press conference but said it’s almost « irrelevant » because she continues to get a pass. HARRIS DODGES QUESTION ON LOWERING PRICES BY DESCRIBING ‘MIDDLE-CLASS’ ROOTS: NEIGHBORS ‘PROUD OF THEIR LAWN’ »She is highly unlikely to do a press conference because the media have enabled and encouraged her ‘plexiglass basement’ strategy, wherein she preserves the illusion of being out there while remaining wholly inaccessible to the press and therefore unaccountable, » Bonilla told Fox News Digital. In her interview in Philadelphia, her answer citing her middle-class upbringing when asked about specifics of her economic policy drew sharp criticism.BARBARA WALTERS WOULD EXPECT KAMALA HARRIS TO DO INTERVIEWS, AUTHOR SAYS: ‘PART OF THE JOB OF BEING PRESIDENT' »You know, I grew up in a neighborhood of folks who were very proud of their lawn, » she said. « And I was raised to believe and to know that all people deserve dignity, and that we as Americans have a beautiful character. You know, we have ambitions and aspirations and dreams, but not everyone necessarily has access to the resources that can help them fuel those dreams and ambitions. « So when I talk about building an opportunity economy, it is very much with the mind of investing in the ambitions and aspirations and the incredible work ethic of the American people and creating opportunity for people, for example, to start a small business. »Fox News Digital’s Paul Steinhauser contributed to this report.

Derrick Henry gallops to 199 rushing yards as Ravens dominate Bills

[ad_1]

The Baltimore Ravens may have started the season 0-2, but they are rolling now after their second straight win was a dominant one over the undefeated Buffalo Bills, 35-10, on Sunday night at M&T Bank Stadium. The league’s best rushing attack was back at it, as Derrick Henry had a monstrous game with 199 yards on 24 carries with an 87-yard touchdown that opened up the scoring on the Ravens’ first offensive play of the game. Henry, getting a great block from fullback Patrick Ricard, saw daylight and didn’t waste it as he hit the jets down the right sideline for a franchise-best 87 yards with the score. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMThe Bills simply had no answer for Henry all night long, as the runs were keeping Bills confused through all four quarters. On top of Henry’s dominance, quarterback Lamar Jackson was getting the job done with his legs as well. He had 54 yards rushing on six carries with a touchdown on the ground himself. And while running back Justice Hill had just 14 yards rushing, he was a massive factor in the pass game for Jackson, who found him six times for a game-high 78 yards with a touchdown. DERRICK HENRY’S STUNNING 87-YARD TOUCHDOWN RUN MAKES RAVENS HISTORYJackson was wildly efficient through the air, going 13-for-18 for 156 yards with two touchdowns, the first of which went to Henry through the air before finding Hill later in the game. Meanwhile, Josh Allen and the Bills, who had been rolling themselves entering this marquee Sunday night matchup on the road, came back down to Earth as John Harbaugh’s group was dialing up the right blitzes that kept him running all over the field. Allen couldn’t find the end zone with his legs or his cannon of an arm, as he was just 16-of-29 for 180 yards passing, while rushing for 21 yards on five attempts. Buffalo never had the same success moving the ball quickly and effectively like they have for the first three games this season, as Allen had to pump fake three times and sprint out to his right just to find Khalil Shakir (4 catches, 62 yards) on a third quarter drive for 52 yards to set up Buffalo’s only touchdown drive of the game. It was Ty Johnson who ran it in from three yards out to score for Buffalo in what was a 21-10 game. However, things got out of hands when Allen was strip sacked on the team’s next drive, and Jackson led his rushing-touchdown drive to start pulling away again. Then, after Buffalo kicker Tyler Bass missed a field goal, Baltimore scored again as Ricard fell on a Henry fumble at the goal line in the end zone for the score to make it 35-10. It was total domination by the Ravens, who look more like the team who had the best record in the NFL last season by the week. Meanwhile, the Bills got hit with a tough loss on the road that brings them back to reality, but are in no means a worrisome position heading into Week 5.  Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

‘Shazam!’ star Zachary Levi endorses Donald Trump for president: ‘We are going to take back this country’

[ad_1]

A Hollywood actor is throwing his support behind former President Trump as Election Day is a little more than five weeks away. »Shazam! » star Zachary Levi revealed his pick for president while moderating an event with former presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard, the former Democrat congresswoman from Hawaii, in Michigan on Saturday.Levi opened the event by explaining that he initially was backing RFK Jr. in the 2024 presidential election, and when Kennedy suspended his campaign, Levi  knew to whom he was sending his support. »In a perfect world, in whatever that would look like, perhaps I would have voted for Bobby, » Levi said. « But we don’t live in a perfect world. In fact, we live in a very broken one. We live in a country that has been hijacked by a lot of people who want to take this place way off the cliff, and we’re here to stop that. »RFK JR JOINS TRUMP ON STAGE IN BATTLEGROUND ARIZONA RALLY FOLLOWING ENDORSEMENTLevi added that he grew up in a Christian conservative family and his parents taught him to « have a healthy level of distrust of the government, » adding that Kennedy is the « real deal » and the kind of politician he wanted to support for president. »We are going to take back this country. We are going to make it great again, we’re going to make it healthy again. And so I stand with Bobby and I stand with everyone else who is standing with President Trump. … Of the two choices that we have, and we only have two, President Trump is the man that can get us there, » Levi said.TRUMP ACCEPTS LARGEST POLICE UNION ENDORSEMENT, BLASTS HARRIS AS A ‘DEFUNDER’: ‘KAMALA’S CRIME WAVE’Levi starred as the superhero Shazam in two DC movies in 2019 and 2023. The movies are about a young boy who transforms into an adult man after saying the catchphrase. He also starred in the TV series « Chuck » and voiced Flynn Rider in the animated Disney movie « Tangled. »The actor also brewed a social media storm after expressing his distrust of the pharmaceutical giant Pfizer in a post on X in 2023.’SHAZAM’ STAR ZACHARY LEVI RIPS HOLLYWOOD FOR MAKING ‘GARBAGE’ MOVIES: ‘THEY DON’T CARE ENOUGH’The controversy began when Levi retweeted a question from Moorhouse Group founder Lyndon Wood, who questioned his followers, « Do you agree or not, that Pfizer is a real danger to the world? »Levi replied to the question, « Hardcore agree. »The brief comment stirred intense backlash from left-leaning X accounts, attacking the actor for « disappointing » them after supporting « antivax propaganda. »Fox News Digital reached out to the Trump campaign and Levi for comment on the endorsement and did not immediately receive a response.Fox News Digital’s Lindsay Kornick contributed to this report.

Derrick Henry’s stunning 87-yard touchdown run makes Ravens history

[ad_1]

The Baltimore Ravens needed just a single play on offense to find the end zone on Sunday night against the Buffalo Bills, and franchise history was made in the process. After forcing Josh Allen and the Bills’ red-hot offense to punt on its first drive of the game, Lamar Jackson and his Ravens offense set up from their own 13-yard line. On the first snap, Jackson turned around and handed it off to his star running back Derrick Henry and he immediately saw a hole on the right side of the line that he liked. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMThanks to a perfect block from fullback Patrick Ricard, Henry was quickly into the second level and saw daylight as he turned on the burners down the right sideline. As Bills defenders were chasing him, Henry kept pace, looking up at the videoboard in front of him to see where Buffalo players were. But they couldn’t catch up, as Henry walked into the end zone for an 87-yard touchdown on the first play from scrimmage for the Ravens on their home turf. BALTIMORE RAVENS BRING BACK EDGE RUSHER YANNICK NGAKOUEHenry, who came into this game with the most rushing touchdowns in the league with four through three games, didn’t just put his team up 7-0, but he made Ravens history with the longest run in franchise history at 87 yards. « King Henry » was a massive pickup for Baltimore this offseason, as the former Tennessee Titans running back hit the free agent market as one of the top options for every team to bid for. Henry ended up signing a two-year contract worth up to $16 million with Baltimore. With Jackson already such a rushing threat when he has the ball in his hands, adding Henry has been as advertised despite the Ravens coming into this game with a 1-2 record on the year. Henry entered Sunday with the fifth-most rushing yards in the league at 281 over 56 attempts, which comes out to five yards per carry. Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

The Kansas City Chiefs came out with a late victory over their AFC West foe Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, 17-10, but they suffered a huge loss in the game that could potentially be very serious moving forward. Wide receiver Rashee Rice, the NFL’s leading receiver through the first three weeks of the season, was carted off the field after a Patrick Mahomes interception led to the quarterback accidentally plowing into his favorite target’s knee as he tried to tackle the Chargers’ defender who picked him off. Rice was down on the field and in considerable pain. As he was taken away on a cart, he had a towel over his face and his hands on his head, which is never a good sign when it comes to knee injuries. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMHead coach Andy Reid said after the win that the team will wait to see what Rice’s MRI says, but it doesn’t appear they’re expecting anything good. Multiple reports say the Chiefs fear Rice has a torn ACL, which would be a massive blow for the offense the rest of the way. « I feel terrible for Rashee, » he told reporters. « … We will hope for the best. »If a season-ending injury is the case, the Chiefs would be without Rice, Hollywood Brown, who was lost for the season before even taking a snap with Kansas City, and Isiah Pacheco, who is rehabbing from a fractured fibula. PATRICK MAHOMES ACCIDENTALLY LEVELS RASHEE RICE AFTER INTERCEPTION; CHIEFS WIDE RECEIVER OUT FOR GAMEIt’s a tough break for the Chiefs, but just like this game, they simply need the next guy to step up to find wins. The Chargers, a team that was severely banged up heading into this contest, saw the Chiefs driving in the fourth quarter in a 10-10 game after they forced a three-and-out on Justin Herbert and the Chargers’ offense. Herbert battled through his ankle injury to play on Sunday, though he did appear limited in his range of movement. After a 29-yard reception from tight end Noah Gray, the Chiefs found themselves a few plays later on first-and-goal from the two-yard line with 6:04 to play in the quarter. That’s when Samaje Perine, one of the three running backs Reid deployed on Sunday, busted into the end zone to give the Chiefs the lead late. There was more than enough time for the Chargers to operate, but Herbert, having trouble sustaining drives all game, wasn’t able to get the job done. Los Angeles was forced to punt, and they would never get the ball back. The Chiefs ran out the clock after Xavier Worthy, the team’s rookie speedster, picked up 15 yards on 3rd-and-6 to get the first down needed to kneel it out. With Rice down, Mahomes relied on Worthy’s blazing speed to capture the team’s first touchdown of the game, and it was a highlight-reel play as the quarterback used all of his arm to launch a 54-yard strike to Worthy in the end zone. That made it a 10-7 game in favor of Los Angeles, whose only touchdown came on their opening possession after a fumble by the Chiefs four plays into the game. Herbert went 10 plays and 74 yards to find his rookie receiver, Ladd McConkey, in the back of the end zone on an absolute dot that only his guy could snag from seven yards out. But while the Chiefs battled turnovers, the Chargers simply couldn’t get things going as Herbert was pressured in the pocket with his two starting tackles, Rashawn Slater and rookie Joe Alt, both out. Herbert completed 16 of his 27 attempts for 179 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions, and Mahomes had 245 yards on 19 of 29 with one touchdown and one interception. Seven of those completed passes by Mahomes went to tight end Travis Kelce, who finally had a get-right game after totaling just 69 yards in his first three games. He led the game with 89 yards on those catches and Worthy had three for 73 yards. Also, the return of Kareem Hunt in a Chiefs uniform was great to see if you’re a Kansas City fan, as he amassed 85 yards from scrimmage and appeared to cement his role as the team’s leading running back with Pacheco out. He had 14 carries for 69 yards, while Perine and Steele combined for seven on the day.  It wasn’t pretty by either team, but once again, it was the Chiefs doing the right things in the fourth quarter to come away with the victory. They remain undefeated, but the Chiefs will need to see contributions from everyone with Rice not expected to be back this season. Meanwhile, the Chargers want to get healthy themselves as they’re 2-2 after a 2-0 start to the new season. Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Rob Gronkowski left confused as ‘FOX NFL Sunday’ crew pulls off hilarious prank: ‘Whoa!’

[ad_1]

NFL legendary tight end Rob Gronkowski was the subject of a « FOX NFL Sunday » prank that left him flabbergasted in a hilarious scene. Whenever it comes to breaking down tight ends, the star-studded crew is going to turn to Gronkowski, the four-time Super Bowl champion who should be wearing a gold jacket one day after being one of the best tight ends in NFL history. But his Fox colleagues decided to pull a fast one on him during a fake segment that everyone but « Gronk » knew wasn’t real. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM »He thought we were going live with an extra segment, » Fox NFL Insider Jay Glazer said in a clip recap of the prank. « … The premise was, I was going to ‘break news’ that the Cowboys were activating this great Pro Bowl tight end who doesn’t exist and Gronkowski has to go on what he thinks is live TV to talk about this tight end. »Gronkowski’s colleague, Hall of Famer Michael Strahan, suggested in the next clip that the team should talk about Russo. Thus, the prank begins. Glazer then started to talk about Russo being activated by the Dallas Cowboys, but Gronkowski was being very quiet as the fake player was being discussed. Then Strahan stepped in.ROB GRONKOWSKI ON WHETHER HE WOULD HAVE WORN GUARDIAN CAP DURING HIS PLAYING DAYS »That’s big because Russo is a complete game-changer, takes so much pressure off [Cowboys quarterback] Dak [Prescott], takes so much pressure off the run game, great blocker, great receiver, » Strahan said. After that explanation, host Kurt Menefee looked to Gronkowski for his input on Russo, and despite being confused, he simply winged it. « Uh, he’s been out for a little bit so he might be a little rusty coming back, but I think they’re going to give him the opportunities, that’s for sure, but also they got [Jake] Ferguson as well, so they’re going to be a 1-2 combo, » Gronkowski said. Gronkowski tried to shift the conversation to Ferguson, the actual starting tight end of the Cowboys. However, another Hall of Famer in Terry Bradshaw went right back to Russo, and that’s when things got really wacky. »He’s the only guy in the league that has two fingers missing on his right hand, that’s why he’s been out, and he’s back now, » Bradshaw said. »So, is that going to affect him when he’s catching a pass? » Gronkowski questioned Bradshaw. The crew was trying their hardest to keep the bit going, but after they couldn’t hold a straight face any longer, Menefee let Gronkowski in. »Whoa! I was wondering, » Gronkowski said in a shocked manner. « I was going to say right when it was done, ‘Guys, I’ve never heard of Rich Russo in my life.’ »When the show was actually live this Sunday, Gronkowski let his team know that they had his « head spinning » as he tried to figure out how to seem knowledgeable about Russo. But if there’s anything Gronkowski learned about that moment, it was « that I am always ready. »Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Marlon Wayans ‘aint got s— to hide’ after claiming he left Diddy parties early

[ad_1]

Sean « Diddy » Combs is a well-connected man with many friends in Hollywood, but since he was taken into custody and charged with sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy earlier this month, stars seem to be distancing themselves from the disgraced media mogul, staying painfully silent amid reports of his notorious « freak off » parties. Nearly two weeks before Diddy was even arrested, actor and comedian Marlon Wayans admitted that he’d attended plenty of parties hosted by the rapper, but clarified he was not privy to any nefarious activities being reported in previous legal documents, as he’d always leave the gatherings early. But some social media users haven’t been buying what Wayans is selling. One person responded directly to a post Wayans made on X in 2009, where he spoke highly of Combs’ parties. « Been doin’ Diddy parties for 15 years and I must say you never let me down Puff, » he wrote, at the time. « Ain’t no party like a Diddy party. »DIDDY SEX TRAFFICKING PROBE BRING UNWANTED SCRUTINY TO STARS: ‘SILENCE IS THE BEST OPTION,’ EXPERT SAYS »You say you left the P. Diddy parties early, I call BS! The truth shall set you free, » the disbelieving user wrote back.On Friday, Wayans doubled down on his original remarks about leaving parties early – which he shared on the « Club Shay Shay » podcast with former football tight end Shannon Sharpe earlier this month. « Yup! And i still stand by that, » he retorted. « I’ve never seen or been a part of nothing but good vibes and energy with CLOTHES ON! So yeah, and i [am not] rushing to take down old tweets or anything. I ain’t got s— to hide. Period. » »I [have] been to plenty [of] Diddy parties, » Wayans told Sharpe in early September. « I left early. I swear to you. » »I’ve never seen it, » he said vehemently, of the things being described in the news. « Those aren’t the type of parties I go to. I don’t frequent those type of parties, and even if I go, like I said, I’d never seen any of this. » »When I hear about it, [I’m like] ‘When did that happen? At what time did this go down? Cause I was there [until] 2-3:30. You mean at 3:32? So they waited for me to leave?’ Like ‘All right, good that Wayans n—-‘s gone. He talk too much,' » he joked.LIKE WHAT YOU’RE READING? There’s a lot for me to answer to, » Wayans explained. « I owe it to my fans to walk through this life and be an example, as best as I can. »A representative for Wayans did not immediately return Fox News Digital’s request for comment. In documents released by the U.S. attorney, Diddy and his employees would allegedly « intimidate, threaten, and lure female victims into Comb’s orbit, often under the pretense of a romantic relationship. He was initially denied bail by the court, only to be denied a second time during an appeal.Following the charges brought by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Marc Agnifilo, Combs’ defense, released a statement obtained by Fox News Digital. « We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, » Agnifilo said. « Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community. He is an imperfect person but he Is not a criminal. To his credit Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges.
