    California wildfire forces evacuations as state prepares for dangerous windstorm



    Fire breaks out in Pacific Palisades as region braces for what could be strongest winds in over a decadeAs southern California prepares to face a “life-threatening” windstorm this week, officials have ordered evacuations on a brush fire in the Los Angeles area.The fire in Pacific Palisades broke out at about 10.30am and swallowed about 200 acres within an hour. The region is expected to see what could amount to the strongest winds in more than a decade, bringing extreme fire risk to areas that have been without significant rain for months.
