Between nine and 10 people have been injured in a shooting on Saturday at a splash pad in Rochester Hills, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit, with the youngest victim being 8 years old, the Oakland County Sheriff said in a Saturday evening press conference. Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said he doesn’t know the status of the victims who have « varying kinds of injuries. » The victims have been taken to up to four local hospitals. He said the suspect appeared to have gotten out of a vehicle, started shooting, and then left the Brooklands Plaza Splash Pad in a « random act. » The suspect is « contained, » and law enforcement, including SWAT and armored vehicles, have a perimeter around the home where the person is located, Bouchard said, adding that they’re trying to get a search warrant.
