[ad_1]

Vice President Kamala Harris recently recorded an interview with the raunchy and often-sexually explicit « Call Her Daddy » podcast, though she continues to play coy with traditional media outlets. The Harris campaign confirmed that Harris sat down for the interview this past Tuesday where she focused on talking to audiences about abortion and reproductive rights issues. The interview is set to air sometime next week.Harris’ « Call Her Daddy » interview comes as she has been criticized for not doing enough traditional news interviews since the start of her presidential campaign in late July.HARRIS CAMPAIGN IS IN ‘DANGER ZONE’ AS AMERICANS WORRY ABOUT COUNTRY’S DIRECTION, SAYS CNN DATA GURUSo far, Harris and her running mate, Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minn., have done a combined 24 interviews, a number which pales in comparison to the Trump-Vance ticket’s combined 63 interviews in that same time frame.Harris still has not held a formal press conference since replacing President Biden as the Democratic nominee, while Trump has held five since the beginning of September. The « Call Her Daddy » podcast, put on by SiriusXM, is hosted by Alex Cooper and reaches a massive, predominantly female audience. According to Spotify, it is « the most-listened to podcast by women. » The podcast is well-known for hosting explicit discussions about sex and women’s health advice. Axios reported that the vice president’s appearance on the podcast « highlights her campaign’s emphasis on appealing to women voters and younger audiences. » According to CNN, the podcast generally has « a reputation for raunchy sex and relationship conversations. » Former President Trump and his running mate JD Vance have done multiple interviews on major podcasts shows in recent months, trying to bring their messaging to younger audiences. Trump recently sat down with podcaster and influencer Theo Von on his podcast and did a livestream with popular influencer Adin Ross that was conducted at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago residence. Vance did an interview on the Full Send Podcast in August. That Harris would opt for a sit-down with the sex-positive show generated some chatter on social media. BILL MAHER CONDEMNS TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT, CALLS FORMER PRESIDENT ‘LUCKIEST MOTHERF—ER’ EVERPro-Trump influencer Collin Rugg shared a clip from the show in which Cooper interviewed a porn star. Rising from the ashes: Israelis in nation’s war-torn south move home a year after October 7 massacre

[ad_1]

Before October 7, the communities of the mostly agricultural cooperative settlements, commonly known as kibbutzim, near the Gaza Strip, were considered some of the most picturesque places in Israel, characterized by green fields and carpets of vibrant red anemones. Yet, they were also among the most bombarded areas in the country. « Ninety-nine percent of the time, it’s paradise; one percent of the time, it’s hell, » was a common saying among residents. »It’s fair to say this year, we live in that one percent » Ofer Liberman admits, reflecting on the harsh reality faced by his community. For 22 years, he has served as the spokesperson for Kibbutz Nir Am, nestled in the Gaza envelope. On October 7, it was Liberman’s daughter, Inbal, the community’s security coordinator, who displayed remarkable courage. She opened the weapons storage lockers and distributed arms to the community’s rapid response team, sending them to various locations along the kibbutz fence. She and the team engaged in face-to-face battles with Hamas terrorists. Her quick actions prevented them from entering the kibbutz and prevented a massacre similar to what occurred in neighboring communities.ISRAEL’S MILITARY SAYS FORCE IS ‘AT WAR’ WITH HAMAS AS IDF HITS BACK AT TERROR TARGETSOn Wednesday, during Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, Liberman celebrated with his family back in Kibbutz Nir Am. « My wife and I were the only ones to come back in mid-November, while the kibbutz was under full military control. I manage the agriculture in Nir Am, and I had to be here. By the end of March, a small number of families returned, and on August 15, when government funding ended, everyone returned except for 12 families, » he recounted. »This was a sad holiday; some of our friends still have family members and friends held in Gaza. In the morning, we were informed by the IDF there would be loud noises coming from their fighting in Gaza, » Liberman described the ongoing tension in the region. « People got anxious because it reminded them of October 7 — the booming and gunfire. But we’re managing a routine. People go to work, and children go to school, living my life completely, with sounds of war. »After October 7, 15,000 people were evacuated from the 21 kibbutzim in southern Israel, first to hotels and then into temporary housing across the country. Remarkably, about 70% have returned home, a significant achievement considering the ongoing war in Gaza and the devastating impact of the attack, which claimed the lives of some 1,200 people, 319 of whom were kibbutz members, and destroyed hundreds of homes.FEDERAL AUTHORITIES ISSUE WARNING AHEAD OF OCT. 7 ATTACKS ANNIVERSARYHowever, six of the communities where the impact was most severe have yet to return. In Kibbutz Be’eri, 98 men, women, and children were murdered, and 30 were kidnapped. In Kfar Aza, home to 700, 64 people, including women and children, were massacred, and 19 were taken hostage. In Nahal Oz, a small community of 450, 15 were killed and 8 were kidnapped. »Only twenty members of Kibbutz Nahal Oz have returned to the kibbutz, while 330 residents — eighty percent of our community — are in Mishmar Ha’emek, a kibbutz in north-central Israel. They’ve been hosting us since October 8, » Amir Tibon, a resident of Nahal Oz, told Fox News Digital. « Being together as one community in this temporary housing has been significant, as we are surrounded by the people we love. Our children still go to school and kindergarten together, which makes a big difference. »On October 7, Tibon and his wife Miri were rescued along with their two younger daughters, thanks to his mother Gali, and father, retired IDF Major General Noam Tibon, who drove from Tel Aviv to the kibbutz to rescue them. On their way, they rescued survivors of the music festival massacre and helped wounded Israeli soldiers. Hours after leaving his home in Tel Aviv, Amir’s father battled a Hamas terrorist in Nahal Oz and saved his family. Tibon later chronicled his experiences in his new book, « The Gates of Gaza: A Story of Betrayal, Survival, and Hope in Israel’s Borderline, » where he intertwines his personal story with the history of the kibbutz.FOREIGN SURVIVORS OF BRUTAL HAMAS ATTACK ON ISRAEL RECALL TERROR MASSACRE: ‘EVERYTHING WAS BURNING' »The kibbutzim’s key role in the history of Israel, in creating and protecting the borders of Israel, remains crucial. This way of life, with a strong emphasis on community and togetherness, is more important now than ever, » Tibon believes. »A kibbutz can be understood as a microcosm of collective living, where community, equality and shared labor play vital roles in the daily lives of its members, » Ayelet Harris, head of the community division in the Kibbutz Movement, said of the leadership dynamics in these communities. »The Kibbutzim institutional structure has been crucial in the process of recovery. I saw women and men leading their kibbutzim and prioritizing the mission of returning, even in uncertain times. They decided to focus on the mission of going, working through their emotional states while being part of the teams planning the return. This sense of ownership fosters a deeper sense of belonging than in other places where people feel less influence over future plans. »Tibon reflected on the complexities surrounding the decision to return home. « This is a conversation we have every day. The issue is about the sense of security that the government and IDF must provide, and overcoming the psychological barriers of returning to a place where such horrors occurred. »The ongoing trauma is compounded by the uncertainty of their friends and family who remain in Hamas captivity. « We received five of our hostages back alive in November, thanks to a deal orchestrated by President Biden. But we still have two friends, Omri and Zachi, in the hands of the enemy, » Tibon explained. « For me, going back to the kibbutz means living in a house where a neighbor was killed in the house in front of me, and another neighbor was murdered in the house behind. This is where I will raise my daughters. I believe I can do that, but I don’t know if I can pass by the homes of these two friends and know they were left to die in the tunnels of Gaza. »VIDEOS OF HAMAS BRUTALITY TOWARD ISRAELIS EERILY REMINISCENT OF ISIS TACTICSLast week, while walking around Kibbutz Gvulot, the contrast between the children’s laughter and the reality of their lives was striking. Children played soccer on the grass, joyfully unaware of the shadows cast by the shelters positioned every few meters, decorated with pictures of beloved cartoon characters. The regional school at the center of the kibbutz has been improvised from structures that existed prior to October 7. »After the attack, we found ourselves in a hotel in Eilat with a large part of the traumatized community of the south, » Lior Dafner, the chairman of Kibbutz Gvulot, recalls. « Every day we received news about more people we knew being kidnapped or murdered- a truly incomprehensible situation. » Kibbutz Gvulot was one of the very few places that were not raided during the October 7 massacre. »You see a slow deterioration of people into helplessness; there are no frameworks for children. We realized we needed to establish ourselves and figure out where to go next. We wanted to ensure that the children and staff started the year on September 1, like all children in the country, and finish on June 30, in the same classroom with the same teacher and group of kids—all in a safe and stable environment. After everything they’ve been through, losing friends and teachers, seeing them now in school gives us hope. This is the future. It gives us hope for what lies ahead, » Dafner said.Throughout the communities that are back in their homes, there is a call for resilience despite the challenges. Liberman said, « I think we had to return here and hold this place. We need to preserve our country. I was just in New York, sitting with Jews who lamented that they are not in Israel. You see the synagogue surrounded by police protecting them because they are afraid. We, the Jewish people, are unwelcome anywhere in the world. So, we have no choice but to remain in our state. I hope that after the fighting in the south and north ends, and once we bring our hostages home, we can return to living that ninety-nine percent of paradise. »

[ad_1]

The 19-year-old U.S. Air Force Academy cadet who was found unresponsive in her dorm room in early September died from a rare bacterial infection « associated with a toxic shock-like syndrome, » a coroner has announced. Avery Koonce had been fighting a cough before dying on Sept. 4 in Colorado from « Paeniclostridium sordellii sepsis complicating parainfluenza laryngotracheobronchitis, » according to an El Paso County Coroner’s Office report obtained by Fox21 News. Coroner Leon Kelly wrote in the report that Koonce had an abnormal fluid build-up in her left lung along with the bacterium Paeniclostridium sordellii, which can cause « serious disease or death in various clinical settings including airway infection and sepsis, » according to the Colorado Springs Independent. The bacteria « has been associated with a toxic shock-like syndrome that can rapidly progress to death, » and « It’s likely that the bacterial infection was secondary to the parainfluenza infection… that resulted in… symptoms of severe cough and upper airway inflammation and edema, » the newspaper cited the report as saying. US AIR FORCE ACADEMY CADET, 19, IS FOUND DEAD IN HER DORM ROOM The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention describes sepsis as « the body’s extreme response to an infection » that happens « when an infection you already have triggers a chain reaction throughout your body. » The U.S. Air Force Academy said Koonce, a 19-year-old from Taylor, Texas, was set to graduate in 2028 and was a member of the women’s track and field team. MORE THAN $365K RAISED FOR DISABLED AIR FORCE VETERAN, 90, SEEN PAWNING JEWELRY TO SUPPORT WIFE WITH DEMENTIA « We lost an incredible teammate… While only with us for a short time, Avery positively impacted her unit, her intercollegiate team, and her class – her loss will be felt across USAFA, » Academy Superintendent Lt Gen Tony Bauernfeind said at the time of Koonce’s death. « Our team is focused on providing support to Avery’s family, Cadet Squadron 38, the Track and Field team, and the entire Academy family. »Koonce attended Thrall High School, according to the Austin American-Statesman, which quoted the district’s superintendent as saying that she was the president of the student council and leader of the National Honor Society.  U.S. Rep. CHUCK DEVORE: Comparing Biden-Harris bungled Helene response to past disasters

[ad_1]

For five days, the U.S. Army’s helicopters stayed on the ground. The Biden-Harris administration’s response to Hurricane Helene has been slow, weak, and deadly—but, except for Fox News, you wouldn’t know it from the major media.Hurricane Helene made landfall on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 11:10 p.m. The following Thursday, a reporter asked President Joe Biden about the storm zone. Biden responded, « Oh, storm zone? I don’t know which storm you’re talking about… » Biden then recovered and claimed, « They are getting what they need, and they are very happy across the board. »WHITE HOUSE REPORTERS ASK ZERO QUESTIONS ABOUT HURRICANE HELENE IN SURPRISE OPPORTUNITY TO PRESS BIDENThe day before, five full days after the storm dumped up to 30 inches of rain in some mountain locations, Biden ordered 1,000 active-duty troops to provide assistance with 22 helicopters as well as tactical vehicles from Fort Liberty (formerly Fort Bragg), some 250 miles east of hard-hit Asheville, N.C.There are about 50 utility helicopters in the 82d Airborne Division’s Combat Aviation Brigade at Fort Liberty. The military installation in Fayetteville, the U.S. Army’s largest, has almost 100,000 active-duty and reserve soldiers available for presidential call-up—so, Biden sent 1% of Fort Liberty’s personnel and less than half of the base’s much-needed helicopter inventory. Meanwhile, the federal government’s emergency management arm, FEMA, warned it’s out of money because it has spent $1.4 billion on aid to « sanctuary cities » swamped with illegal aliens and mostly fake asylum seekers. FEMA said it sent 150 generators to the stricken region. But there are at least double that number of generators available for purchase within an hour’s drive of any typical city. Displaced citizens in the Appalachian region hit by Helene are at risk of illness due to contaminated water—and in danger from human traffickers who prey upon the confused, weak, and vulnerable. The hundreds of military police from Fort Liberty’s 503rd Military Police Battalion and the 82nd MP Company could prove a powerful deterrent in shelters—if they were activated. So, how does the Biden-Harris disaster response compare to other recent events? The media and Democrats heaped scorn on President George H.W. Bush’s federal response to the L.A. Riots in 1992 and then again on President George W. Bush’s Hurricane Katrina actions in 2005. I was a California Army National Guard captain during the 1992 L.A. Riots. Within three days, we had 10,000 Guard soldiers on the ground, quelling looting and arson. Rioting started the evening of April 29. The following evening, a National Guard MP company was on the scene. The next day, 4,000 Guard soldiers were in the city and President Bush ordered active-duty Army and Marine forces into action as well as 1,000 federal law enforcement officers. By May 2, there were 10,000 Guard members and 3,500 active-duty soldiers and Marines keeping order in L.A.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONSo, the elder Bush ordered 3,500 active-duty personnel into L.A. three days into the emergency while Biden took five days to decide to send 1,000 soldiers to help. Hurricane Katrina made landfall on Monday, Aug. 29, 2005, around 4:30 a.m. At Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco’s request, President George W. Bush had issued an emergency declaration on Saturday, Aug. 27, two days before landfall. Within a day of impact, U.S. Coast Guard helicopters were already working, rescuing some 350 people from rooftops. Bush viewed the devastation from the air on Aug. 31 and was roundly criticized for flying over, rather than seeing things on the ground. On Sept. 1, Bush asked Gov. Blanco to allow a federal takeover of the relief efforts, which by then included 15,256 Guard members expected to grow to more than 40,000 personnel from neighboring states. Bush visited the scene of the disaster only two days after landfall. Two days after Helene, Biden was on the beach in Delaware, « commanding, » as he claimed, with two hours of phone calls. Vice President Kamala Harris was fundraising on the West Coast. The U.S. military’s chain of command for this disaster runs from Biden to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin to the commander of the U.S. Northern Command. Biden’s slow and confused response to Hurricane Helene—taking two more days to come to grips with the crisis than did his two recent predecessors—speaks of a president who is out of touch and not up to the job. The Biden-Harris administration’s sluggish and half-hearted disaster response has put hundreds of thousands of Americans at risk in Helene’s swath of destruction. Biden’s lackluster engagement in the most powerful office on the planet puts the entire nation in peril as the world spirals into chaos while Harris focuses her time and energy on running to replace Biden while hiding from the media.CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM CHUCK DEVORE

Couple narrowly escapes Hurricane Helene’s fury in NC mountains as mudslide just misses car

[ad_1]

A Virginia couple had a close call with Hurricane Helene’s fury while traveling home through the North Carolina mountains. Alan and Kelly Keffer described barely escaping a mudslide along the interstate in Black Mountain, N.C. on « The Faulkner Focus » Thursday. »When I looked out the window, the mountain was coming down with the trees and rocks, » Alan told host Harris Faulkner.HURRICANE HELENE: NORTH CAROLINA RESIDENTS FIGHT FOR THEIR SURVIVAL AS BASIC GOODS BECOME SCARCEAs the wall of earth bulldozed down onto the highway, Kelly said, « I looked back in the car and just saw the mud on the door and kept looking back and saw that the glass was shattered. »Hurricane Helene made landfall last Thursday as a Category 4 storm, but quickly barreled its way towards the Carolinas. The storm brought unprecedented flooding and landslides to the western North Carolina region over the weekend. The Keffers were driving home from vacation when they got caught in Helene’s wrath. « We just figured it would be a little bit of rain, maybe some wind, but it would be fine. And three seconds later, it was over, » Alan said.NORTH CAROLINA COMMUNITY ‘HUNTING’ FOR MISSING TEACHERS IN ‘DEVASTATING’ AFTERMATH OF HURRICANE HELENE »It was pretty scary because I didn’t see what was happening. I just heard everything hitting the car, and I thought they were big rocks because that’s what it sounded like. And I was expecting the roof to cave in. So we’re very blessed to have gotten through it and everybody else that survived. We’re very thankful for that, » Kelly said. Kelly added there were no major injuries caused by the specific mudslide. The death toll from the hurricane climbed to at least 200, and that number is expected to rise in the coming weeks as officials continue their rescue and recovery efforts. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) arrived in Western North Carolina Monday after Gov. Roy Cooper announced President Biden had approved federal resources.Since the worst of the storm on Friday morning, local and state officials, as well as local and out-of-state volunteer rescue organizations — such as Samaritan’s Purse headquartered in Boone and Cajun Navy 2016 located in Louisiana — had been working to send personnel and supplies up the steep mountain roads severely damaged by Helene in western North Carolina.Rescue teams have also been deployed to parts of eastern Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia and Florida — areas that were also devastated by the storm.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP »We just can’t imagine what they’re going through. We came out of it safely, but many people did not. And we’re just continuing to lift that area, all the rescue teams that are coming in, all the supplies that are being delivered to those areas, we’re just lifting them in prayer for their safety, » Kelly said.Helene’s death toll for North Carolina and Tennessee is unknown as authorities continue to respond and get in touch with families before publicizing official numbers, but the lack of data roaming and cellphone service is making that difficult. Fox News’ Stephen Sorace and Audrey Conklin contributed to this report.

Minnesota boy arrested after allegedly driving stolen car near playground where children were playing

[ad_1]

A 10-year-old boy was arrested in Minneapolis, Minnesota, after allegedly stealing a car and driving recklessly near a school playground, where he nearly hit other children who were playing.Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara said Friday that the incident happened on Sept. 20 at the playground outside of Nellie Stone Johnson School, according to Fox 9. Surveillance footage shows the boy driving the stolen vehicle back and forth behind the playground before driving onto the sidewalk, which is just feet away from the playground, as children were nearby. No children were struck by the vehicle, according to O’Hara.BIZARRE MINNESOTA LAWS, INCLUDING PENALTIES FOR DRIVING A FILTHY CAR, THAT WILL SHOCK YOUO’Hara said the 10-year-old was identified as the driver on Thursday. He was arrested and booked into the Hennepin County Juvenile Detention on probable cause of second-degree assault. The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office said in a press release on Friday that it has filed charges in this case, Fox 9 reported. O’Hara said the boy has been charged with reckless driving and receiving stolen property. The attorney’s office also said that a person cannot be prosecuted if they are not capable of assisting their lawyers in their defense or if they cannot understand the legal proceedings.A court-appointed psychologist will determine whether a person is competent and submit their opinion to the judge, who will make the final decision. If a child is found not competent, the child will be released from custody, and the case will either be dismissed or suspended. »We are facing an urgent crisis in our community related to a small group of children who are not competent to stand trial in the juvenile justice system, but who cannot safely be at home, » the attorney’s office said in a statement. « We are actively engaged with law enforcement, as well as county and state partners, about the critical need for safe and appropriate out-of-home placements for children with these complex needs who require specialized care. We cannot charge or prosecute our way out of this crisis. » »What we need is clear: residential placements with varying levels of security in our community that are resourced and staffed to be able to accept and successfully treat our youth with complex needs, » the statement added. « And we need urgent and immediate action to address this issue now. »The boy has allegedly stolen cars in the past as well, having been arrested in at least two other incidents related to auto theft, O’Hara said. He is also listed as a suspect in more than a dozen other cases, including for auto theft, assault with a dangerous weapon and robbery. The child’s criminal history dates back to May 2023. He has around 30 records, and most of them are runaway incidents. The boy’s family is cooperating with law enforcement and has asked for help to « keep their son or anyone else from being injured or killed, » police said in a press release, according to Fox 9.DASHCAM VIDEO CAPTURES 8-YEAR-OLD OHIO GIRL DRIVING FAMILY SUV ON TARGET RUNCharges in a different incident from August were filed on Friday, O’Hara said. In that case, the boy and other minors approached a victim with a knife in his hand, and threatened her by saying « I will gut you » while attempting to steal her car.The boy was charged in that case with threats of violence and an attempt to commit auto theft, O’Hara said. »It is unfathomable that a 10-year-old boy has had this level of criminal activity without effective intervention, » O’Hara said. « Prison is not an acceptable option for a 10-year-old boy. But the adults who can stop this behavior going forward must act now. This is only one example of the revolving door we’re dealing with – arresting and re-arresting the same juveniles for auto-theft and other violent crimes. This is a complex issue, and we need every entity involved in intervention to come together immediately to establish short- and long-term solutions. »

Trump says Israel should hit Iran’s nuclear facilities, slamming Biden’s response

[ad_1]

Former President Trump on Friday said that Israel should attack Iran’s nuclear facilities while mocking President Biden’s answer earlier this week on the subject.  While speaking at a campaign event in Fayetteville, North Carolina, he said when Biden was asked about Israel attacking Iran, the president answered, « ’As long as they don’t hit the nuclear stuff.’ That’s the thing you wanna hit, right? I said, ‘I think he’s got that one wrong. Isn’t that what you’re supposed to hit?’ » Trump went on to say that nuclear proliferation is the « biggest risk we have. » TRUMP SLAMS THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION’S RESPONSE TO HURRICANE HELENEThe former president said he rebuilt the « entire military, jets everything, I built it, including nuclear » while he was president. « I hated to build the nuclear, but I got to know firsthand the power of that stuff, and I’ll tell you what: we have to be totally prepared. We have to be absolutely prepared. »He said when Biden was asked about Israel and Iran: « His answer should have been « ‘Hit the nuclear first, worry about the rest later.' »Trump made similar comments in an interview with Fox News on Thursday, telling correspondent Bill Melugin Biden’s response on Israel attacking Iran was the « craziest thing I’ve ever heard. That’s the biggest risk we have. The biggest risk we have is nuclear. » TRUMP NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISORS MOCK BIDEN’S WARNINGS TO ISRAEL TO STICK TO ‘PROPORTIONAL’ IRAN RESPONSEHe continued, « I mean, to make the statement, ‘Please leave their nuclear alone.’ I would tell you that that’s not the right answer. That was the craziest answer because, you know what? Soon, they’re going to have nuclear weapons. And then you’re going to have problems. » Former deputy director of national intelligence Kash Patel, who served under Trump, said this week: « Iran launched a war into Israel, so to say that the Israelis who are defending themselves and our hostages shouldn’t attack sites in Iran that could kill them – especially when you’re the one who gave Iran $7 billion as a commander in chief and then allowed them to acquire nuclear materials – is wildly political. »Following Tuesday’s attack by Iran on Israel, Biden told reporters at Joint Base Andrews, « the answer is no, » of Israel potentially targeting the country’s nuclear program. CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPHe added that he and the other members of the G-7 all « agree that [Israel has] a right to respond, but they should respond proportionally, »

Ohio woman’s viral videos about rug buried in her yard led to search for potential body

[ad_1]

An Ohio woman shared videos on her TikTok account in which she was concerned that a body may have been buried in her yard, resulting in a police investigation of her property.Katie Santry first shared a video early in the week that showed her and her family digging up a rug buried in the yard at their home in Columbus, and she made subsequent videos updating her followers on the situation, including that she called police to her home. The videos racked up millions of views, and many people in her comments speculated why a rug would be buried in her yard.Columbus Police responded to the property later in the week to investigate, but did not locate a body, according to Fox 59.OHIO ‘DANGEROUS’ CHEMICAL SPILL CAUSED BY OPEN VALVE ON TRAIN CAR LEADS TO EMERGENCY EVACUATIONSantry described the events in a TikTok video as « the most absurd, insane experience of my life. »The investigation, which featured K-9 units and an excavation, concluded on Friday afternoon, and police collected pieces of the rug buried in the yard. »The pieces all tested negative for human or animal remains and, at this time, there are no plans for further testing, » police said.An officer said it is common when homes are built for people to bury items instead of moving them to save effort. The officer said K-9 units are not always correct, but when they alert them to a spot, police have to dig to confirm if something is there. It is also possible someone had suffered something as small as a nosebleed years ago that the dogs picked up on, an officer said.Santry, in multiple videos, detailed her first phone call to the police. She said in a video later that day that two different cadaver dogs on two separate attempts sat at the hole.

76 days: Kamala Harris has yet to do formal press conference since emerging as Democratic nominee

[ad_1]

Vice President Kamala Harris has gone 76 days as the presumptive, and now, official Democratic nominee for president without holding an official press conference. Trump has held six news conferences where he took questions from the media since the beginning of August, including another on Friday after meeting with Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp about hurricane relief efforts.President Biden also held a news conference in the White House press briefing room on Friday, where he joked about getting back into the 2024 race.BERNIE SANDERS SAYS HARRIS DROPPING FAR-LEFT POLICIES ‘IN ORDER TO WIN THE ELECTION’Harris has stepped up her interviews in recent weeks, including doing radio hits and a solo sit-down with a Philadelphia TV station. She also spoke to MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle and she made time to hang out with supporter Oprah Winfrey last month at a star-studded campaign event. This week she taped an interview on the « Call Her Daddy » podcast. But as for when she’ll actually do a formal press conference as a candidate, that day may never come, at least while she’s still a candidate.Conservative Radio Libre host Jorge Bonilla feels Harris should do a press conference but said it’s almost « irrelevant » because she continues to get a pass. HARRIS DODGES QUESTION ON LOWERING PRICES BY DESCRIBING ‘MIDDLE-CLASS’ ROOTS: NEIGHBORS ‘PROUD OF THEIR LAWN’ »She is highly unlikely to do a press conference because the media have enabled and encouraged her ‘plexiglass basement’ strategy, wherein she preserves the illusion of being out there while remaining wholly inaccessible to the press and therefore unaccountable, » Bonilla told Fox News Digital. In her interview in Philadelphia, her answer citing her middle-class upbringing when asked about specifics of her economic policy drew sharp criticism.BARBARA WALTERS WOULD EXPECT KAMALA HARRIS TO DO INTERVIEWS, AUTHOR SAYS: ‘PART OF THE JOB OF BEING PRESIDENT' »You know, I grew up in a neighborhood of folks who were very proud of their lawn, » she said. « And I was raised to believe and to know that all people deserve dignity, and that we as Americans have a beautiful character. You know, we have ambitions and aspirations and dreams, but not everyone necessarily has access to the resources that can help them fuel those dreams and ambitions. « So when I talk about building an opportunity economy, it is very much with the mind of investing in the ambitions and aspirations and the incredible work ethic of the American people and creating opportunity for people, for example, to start a small business. »Fox News Digital’s Paul Steinhauser contributed to this report.

‘It all added up’: Daily Mail reporter details allegations against second gentleman

[ad_1]

Second gentleman Doug Emhoff’s representative called a Daily Mail report detailing three unnamed sources who accused him of having slapped a former girlfriend during a 2012 trip to the Cannes Film Festival « untrue. » Fox News Digital has not been able to independently confirm the allegations. « This report is untrue, » an unnamed representative for Vice President Kamala Harris’ husband told news outlet Semafor. « Any suggestion that he would or has ever hit a woman is false. »Daily Mail reporter Josh Boswell appeared on « Jesse Watters Primetime » and outlined the claims that Emhoff slapped his then-girlfriend in 2012. « The process that I went through was extremely thorough and careful about this, because you’re right, we’re on the eve of an election, but the thing that made these sources come forward is not because there’s an election, but because the Kamala Harris campaign was using Doug Emhoff, showing him as this feminist ally, baking up his credentials as an ally to women and that just enraged them, » Boswell said. « I quoted one of them in the piece saying this, that she thought that it was disgusting, that they were portraying him this way, when in fact, these friends knew what had really happened. » TRUMP TARGETS BIDEN, HARRIS OVER FEDERAL RESPONSE TO HURRICANE: ‘INCOMPETENTLY MANAGED’The woman who was allegedly slapped is described by the Daily Mail as a successful New York attorney and is identified only by the pseudonym « Jane. » The incident was alleged to have occurred in 2012 while Emhoff and Jane were in a valet line at a Cannes Film Festival in Nice, France.    « Jane got into a cab. The valet, either with €100 that she slipped him or the fact that there was this domestic dispute going on apparently, ushered her into a car, but then Doug forced his way in too, » Boswell recalled the alleged story. « That’s what the friends told me. That’s when she got really scared. Jane called her male friend who was in New York at the time. So, it was kind of bedtime for him, but he took this call, and she told him what had happened. The next day she questioned Doug about it, and he seemed to be completely nonchalant about it. He used some tennis metaphor because he’s into tennis. So, Jane slapped him back when he slapped her, and she slapped him back twice like this, one with each hand. Doug said, ‘You got one down the line and across the court. So, it’s no big deal.’ That’s all he had to say about it, and so Jane, of course, immediately broke up with him and never saw him again. They left. They went home separately.  » The allegation was made to the Daily Mail by three people who described themselves as Jane’s friends and who shared their recollections of the incident, along with travel itineraries and correspondence between Jane and Emhoff to corroborate the story. All three requested anonymity out of fear of potential retaliation from Emhoff.  « Those sources were each independently talking to us and their accounts closely corroborated each other, » Boswell said. « So, that’s part of what gave me the confidence in this story. « One friend said Jane told her about the alleged incident at the time.  « He hauled up and slapped her so hard she spun around, » the source is quoted as saying. « She said she was in utter shock. She was so furious, she slapped him on one side, and then on the other cheek with the other hand. » Another friend — described by the Daily Mail as a New York businessman — also gave his recollection of the alleged slap. « It was very clear what she was telling me, » that source said, according to the Daily Mail. « She said she was with a guy, her date, she was at the Cannes Film Festival, and he hit her. She was in the car with the guy at the time. » A third friend, described as a female executive, told the Daily Mail that she learned of the alleged incident in 2014, and purportedly found out new details from Jane in 2018, when Harris, then a senator from California, made headlines with her questioning of a Supreme Court nominee who had been accused of sexual assault. The third source said that she had asked Jane if Emhoff had ever apologized and was told that he had not, but that « he commented about the hit she gave him. It was a tennis metaphor. But no apology at all. » According to the Daily Mail’s sources, Jane and Emhoff had been dating for about three months before the reported trip to France. Emhoff allegedly cut the trip off early and returned to LA for his daughter’s 13th birthday.  « Documents were very important, » Boswell said. « They helped prove that firstly, the relationship, you know, we’ve got this photograph of them together. We had other material like that. Then, the email actually references the fact that Doug had to leave early because he had to get back to L.A. in time for his daughter’s birthday. Her birthday is May 29th. Their flight was scheduled to leave on May 29th. So, you can see that matched up. We got the flight details, and you can see they took a layover flight to take them to Nice. It all added up with what each of the sources were saying. Those sources were each independently talking to us and their accounts closely corroborated each other. So, that’s part of what gave me the confidence in this story. »Emhoff was married to his first wife from 1992 to 2009. The marriage ended following his affair with their children’s nanny, who he got pregnant. Emhoff met now-Vice President Kamala Harris in 2013 when she was serving as California attorney general, and they were married in 2014. The Harris campaign, the Office of the Vice President and a representative for Emhoff’s ex-wife, Kerstin Emhoff, did not comment despite repeated requests from Fox News.Fox News Digital’s Emma Colton contributed to this report.

North Carolina Sens. Tills, Budd call for military leader to oversee Hurricane Helene response

[ad_1]

Two Republican senators are calling for the Biden administration to appoint a military leader to lead the recovery effort in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, as some lawmakers continue to criticize the federal government’s response to the storm. In a joint statement, Republican Sens. Thom Tillis and Ted Budd, both of North Carolina, issued a joint statement Friday evening concerning the response operations.  BIDEN GETS DEFENSIVE WHEN PUSHED ON WHO’S ‘COMMANDING’ HURRICANE HELENE RESPONSE »Our National Guard and local, state, and federal first responders on the ground have been working tirelessly to respond to this disaster with the resources they have, » the statement reads. « Given the unprecedented extent of the devastation and complexity of search and rescue operations, it would be helpful to assign an active-duty military leader who has extensive experience with operations of this magnitude to lead moving forward. »The Biden administration has come under for a purportedly inadequate response to the devastation left by Helene. As of Friday, the death toll in southeastern states hit hardest by the storm has risen past 224, with more than 100 dead in western North Carolina alone. BUTTIGIEG’S MESSAGE ON RESTRICTING CIVILIAN DRONES NEAR HURRICANE HELENE DAMAGE PROMPTS OUTCRY, CLARIFICATIONThe White House has said that Biden has coordinated the federal response, including approving emergency declarations and deploying 1,000 active-duty soldiers to support search-and-rescue efforts. More than 4,800 personnel from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and other agencies have been deployed to North Carolina and neighboring states impacted by Helene. FEMA Director Deanne Criswell was on the ground in North Carolina on Friday, saying the military was delivering food and water to residents from distribution centers. Additionally, FEMA has shipped over 8.5 million meals, more than 7 million liters of water, 150 generators and over 220,000 tarps to aid response efforts, according to the White House. As of Friday, the federal government has provided more than $45 million in Individual Assistance to survivors impacted by the storm, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said, including in the form of one-time $750 payments from FEMA to qualified applicants in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. Fox News Digital has reached out to FEMA and the White House. Fox News Digital’s Chris Pandolfo contributed to this report.

JESSE WATTERS: Biden wanted ‘full credit’ for the port strike suspension

[ad_1]

Jesse Watters highlights how President Biden appeared in the White House briefing room for the first time right when Vice President Kamala Harris was about to speak on the port strike suspension in Michigan.BIDEN SAYS HE AND KAMALA HARRIS ARE ‘SINGING FROM THE SAME SONG SHEET’- AS SHE TRIES DISTANCING HERSELFJESSE WATTERS: It was the first time Biden ever set foot in the briefing room as president. The press was stunned. Peter Doocy’s wig fell off, and every channel in America cut straight to it.And Kamala Harris was about to go on TV and take credit for ending the port strike. And Biden looked and said, oh no, you don’t and big footed her. Biden wanted full credit. He’s a lame duck, but even lame ducks care about their legacy. If you’re the Harris campaign, it’s like Biden is haunting you from the grave. Since the coup, Biden hasn’t left his room for 43 days. He’s gone 43 days without anybody laying eyes on him. There’s a ghost in the White House. And in 15 minutes, that ghost spooked the Harris campaign. Biden just said Kamala is responsible for the last four years. That is gonna to hurt. Seeing Biden again brought back memories. Biden and the press were catching up on all of their favorite topics.

‘How much sleep is too much?’: Ask a doctor

[ad_1]

Sleep is known to have amazing health benefits – but how much shuteye is too much? The answer isn’t so straightforward, Dr. Chris Winter, a Virginia-based neurologist and sleep medicine specialist with Mattress Firm, told Fox News Digital. »This is to some degree an impossible question to answer, » he wrote. TO IMPROVE YOUR SLEEP, DO THIS ACTIVITY BEFORE BED, EXPERTS SUGGESTAs with food and other lifestyle factors, Winter explained that the ideal amount of sleep is a « dynamic range. » »What is too much food for me might be an amazingly inadequate amount for an Olympic swimmer, » he said as an example. For the average adult, sleep durations exceeding 11 to 12 hours would be considered « too much » and would start « prompting questions about sleep quality and sleep consistency, » Winter said.‘NAPUCCINO’ TREND: CAFFEINE BEFORE A NAP COULD BE KEY TO BETTER SLEEPWhile getting too little sleep can cause many negative effects, an excess of slumber can pose risks like sleep inertia, which is the feeling of grogginess that occurs after sleeping in for too long. »For many individuals, it’s less about ‘too much sleep’ and more about compensatory sleep, » he said. « In other words, you got inadequate sleep during the week and are trying to ‘make up’ for the lost sleep on the weekend. »For more Health articles, visit foxnews.com/healthSleeping too much on a regular basis is more a reflection of « inadequate sleep quality » overall, Winter said.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR HEALTH NEWSLETTEREven so, the expert recommends catching up on sleep when there’s been a deficit. »Studies have shown that if you pay that sleep debt back quickly, it probably keeps the deficit from impacting your health, » he said. »While it should never be Plan A, making up lost sleep via napping or sleeping in, when possible, can be a good fallback plan. »Although some studies have suggested negative health outcomes from both inadequate and excessive sleep, Winter emphasized that it’s better to get too much sleep than not enough. »Trying to create consistency in sleep is important, too, » he said. « Sleeping a different seven hours every night is not nearly as healthy as sticking to the same seven hours night after night. »The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that adults get between seven and nine hours of sleep per night.

LAURA INGRAHAM: Democrats are ‘obviously concerned’ ahead of the election

[ad_1]

Fox News host Laura Ingraham says Americans are « ready to turn the page on a sad four years » on « The Ingraham Angle. » LAURA INGRAHAM: To review: The economy, the border, hurricane management, unrest in the Middle East, a stalemate at best in Ukraine, and then a Democrat ticket hiding from the press — all these factors should make this an easy Trump win.  TRUMP TARGETS BIDEN, HARRIS OVER FEDERAL RESPONSE TO HURRICANE: ‘INCOMPETENTLY MANAGED’ The Democrats are obviously concerned, and they didn’t really think, I don’t think, that Wisconsin would be this close, but it is. Even liberal Tammy Baldwin’s Senate seat is not a sure thing. So, in these final weeks of the campaign, expect a blitz of appearances by the Obamas and other celebrities, the usual suspects. They’re going to be trying to whip up enthusiasm for four more years of a figurehead president because if you’re out there and you think, you know, « Biden was so bad, » why on Earth would you think Kamala would be any better?  She’s just as inarticulate, but less experienced and more irritating. For all these reasons, at least right now, it seems like « MAGA rising » as America is ready to turn the page on a sad four years. That’s the state of the race.

NFLPA’s attempt to limit locker room access causes divide: ‘We have jobs to do’

[ad_1]

Members of the media and the NFL community seem to be divided over the players union’s new policy recommendation that would limit reporters from conducting player interviews in the locker rooms during the week. Cincinnati Bengals center Ted Karras, who serves as an NFLPA player rep, recently confirmed the new program that would encourage players to conduct interviews outside the locker room. He said Thursday that while the idea behind the change was first discussed following the COVID pandemic, recent incidents where players were caught « naked on camera » prompted the immediate call to action.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM »I think what brought it to light was a couple guys naked on camera this year. I know that’s happened a few times throughout the history of the league. But this will not affect game day, I don’t think. We’re gonna come up with a good solution to make the week as smooth as possible, get everyone the time they need and, again, protect the sanctity of the locker room, » said Karras. The NFLPA on Friday released a statement calling on the league to change its « outdated » media policy into one that fosters « a more respectful and safer workplace. » « Over the past three years, the NFLPA has tried to work with the NFL and Pro Football Writers of America to move media interviews out of locker rooms. However, there has been little willingness to collaborate on a new solution, » the statement read. NFLPA TO ANNOUNCE NEW PROGRAM LIMITING LOCKER ROOM INTERVIEWS AFTER SOME PLAYERS WERE SEEN ‘NAKED ON CAMERA' »Players feel that locker room interviews invade their privacy and are uncomfortable. This isn’t about limiting media access but about respecting players’ privacy and dignity. »The NFL’s current media policy is outdated. We, the NFLPA Executive Committee, urge the NFL to make immediate changes to foster a more respectful and safer workplace for all players. In the meantime, we encourage each player to ask for interviews outside the locker room during the week. »The change isn’t expected to change game day operations, but members of the media and the NFL community appeared to be divided over the issue. Karras explained the basics of the program, and added that it was not meant as « an indictment » against members of the media. Teams or players are not required to follow the new program. The program is aimed at stopping locker room interviews during the week but not on game day. Karras said that while players are free to do what they want, he asked that members of the media « respect » the new process of interviewing players. Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Trump wants ‘death squads’ in US ‘piling up’ criminals in streets, Rolling Stone reporter says

[ad_1]

A Rolling Stone reporter argued Friday that former President Trump wishes he could have « death squads » of police to shoot criminals and pile their bodies in the streets.MSNBC host Jonathan Lemire interviewed Asawin Suebsaeng about a piece he wrote with fellow Rolling Stone senior politics reporter Tim Dickinson headlined, « ‘American Death Squads’: Inside Trump’s Push to Make Police More Violent. »Trump spoke about crime at a rally in Erie, Pennsylvania, this past Sunday, suggesting that a brief, decisive period of law enforcement could drastically reduce crime in America. « One rough hour — and I mean real rough — the word will get out and it will end immediately, you know? It will end immediately, » Trump said.ICE NON-DETAINED DOCKET EXPLODES TO 7.4M CASES »So it wasn’t just that Trump saw the film ‘The Purge’ on his flight there heading to that rally, there’s some teeth to this proposal, » Lemire said as he spoke to Suebsaeng about his piece. « Tell us what you found. »The Rolling Stone reporter said that this statement from Trump was « definitely not a rhetorical one-off thing, » and that « he and his chief ideological lieutenants have shown over the years, including during his administration, including during this current campaign, that they want to back up with the full force of the Department of Justice, the executive branch, and the federal government. »Suebsaeng claimed that according to insiders from the Trump White House, the former president had outbursts demanding crackdowns on criminals. CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTURE »During his presidency, there would be multiple times where, according to our sources, he would be doing things like banging his fist on the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office and demanding that, ‘Why aren’t the police going around shooting all kinds of street criminals and drug dealers and piling up their bodies on American streets, so it can send a very grim message to gangs and all kinds of other suspected criminals in America?’ » the reporter claimed. « He did this so often and so garrulously that there were some administration officials who referred to it to us as his ‘American death squads’ idea, which was something highly influenced by his admiration of what Rodrigo Duterte did in the Philippines, » he added.‘POLITICAL STUNT’: CRITICS DISMISS HARRIS’ EXPECTED ARIZONA BORDER VISIT AS IMMIGRATION REMAINS TOP ISSUEThe reporter conceded that death squads « maybe » won’t happen, but emphasized the significance of even the possibility. « Is it possible that a second term, re-elected Trump could get exactly that? No, maybe not. But the point is, he wants to get to as close to that as humanly possible, which is a remarkable thing for a modern American presidency, » he said.Suebsaeng then claimed that in late 2020, Trump « toyed with the idea of pulling federal funding from different states and cities that were not sufficiently ‘pro-cop’ enough for his liking, or didn’t let the police get away with enough degrees of abusive behavior or even alleged racial bias. He’d threaten to pull federal funding if they didn’t do those things to his liking. » He claimed further that Trump « has talked to people recently about using pardon powers to excuse different officers, where people have been federally charged with things. » »There’s all kinds of things that his second administration would be planning with the Department of Justice, with the power of the executive branch, to try to make police in this country as cartoonishly violent as men like Donald Trump would like them to be, » the Rolling Stone reporter said. Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung responded to Fox News Digital, « President Trump has always been the law and order president and he continues to reiterate the importance of enforcing existing laws. Otherwise it’s all-out anarchy, which is what Kamala Harris has created in some of these communities across America, especially during her time as California attorney general when she emboldened criminals. Now she has allowed criminals and terrorists cross the border unchecked, wreaking havoc throughout communities. »

WNBA media members deny voting for Angel Reese over Caitlin Clark for Rookie of The Year amid outlier vote

[ad_1]

Caitlin Clark was selected WNBA Rookie of the Year by 66 of 67 voters. Many of the 66 who did vote for her have been quick to declare their innocence in voting against her. When Clark was announced the winner of the award Thursday, it was revealed the one vote against her went to Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese, Clark’s rival. Multiple WNBA media members who voted for this year’s award made claims on social media that they did not vote for Reese and voted for Clark instead. CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMThe voter who chose Reese had not identified himself or herself before the time of publication. That voter’s actions in selecting Reese has ignited controversy across social media. Multiple social media users have criticized the decision. Clark would have become the fifth WNBA player in the league’s history to unanimously win Rookie of the Year, joining teammate Aliyah Boston, who won it last season; league MVP A’ja Wilson in 2018; Elena Delle Donne in 2013; and Tina Charles in 2010. Statistically, Clark’s rookie year this year was superior to any of those players as rookies. INSIDE CAITLIN CLARK AND ANGEL REESE’S IMPACT ON MEN’S BASKETBALLClark broke multiple league and franchise records in her first WNBA season, including the single-season record for assists, the rookie scoring record and most points by a guard in a single season in WNBA history. Reese was considered a dark horse contender for the honor behind Clark for the first few months of the season. However, her rookie campaign was cut short after she underwent season-ending surgery on her wrist after being injured Sept. 6. Clark widened her lead in nearly every statistical category in the weeks prior to and after Reese’s season ended. Prior to that, in head-to-head matchups this year, the Fever beat the Sky three out of four times. In two of those contests, Reese put up more points than Clark, while pulling down more rebounds than Clark in all four meetings. Clark registered more assists in all four meetings. Clark led the Fever to the playoffs for the first time in eight years as the team’s leading scorer. Reese was the third-leading scorer on a Chicago team that finished the season with a 13-27 record, third-worst in the league, and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2018. The one statistic Reese held an edge over Clark was rebounds, with more than twice as many rebounds per game at 13.1 compared to Clark’s 5.7. Reese has a natural height advantage at 6-foot-3, compared to Clark at 6-foot.But Clark held advantages in points with 19.2 to Reese’s 13.6 per game, assists with 8.4 to Reese’s 1.9 and even blocks with 0.7 to Reese’s 0.5, despite the height disadvantage. Like Clark, Reese also broke a WNBA single-season record during her rookie year, breaking the single-season record for rebounds with 418 during a game against the Minnesota Lynx Sept. 2. Unlike Clark, Reese did not hold that record by the end of the season. After Reese’s season-ending surgery, MVP A’ja Wilson broke Reese’s record in the final week of the season, when Wilson recorded her 419th rebound.Despite the statistical discrepancies between Clark and Reese, the Sky rookie had her passionate supporters this year who argued her case over Clark. Former NBA All-Star Joakim Noah, a 6-foot-11 center who specialized in rebounding and dominating in the paint, told Fox News Digital he would vote for Reese over Clark for Rookie of the Year if he had a say during an interview at NBA Night at the Emirates Suite at the U.S. Open in early September. « I would say Angel Reese, » Noah said. « When I look at her play, she reminds me a lot of myself. »Follow Fox News Digital’s sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.
