Immer mehr Chinesen halten Haustiere. Den Vierbeinern soll es an nichts fehlen. Doch hinter dem Trend steckt auch eine beunruhigende Entwicklung.Baobao weiß vermutlich schon, was jetzt gleich kommt. Der kleine Pekingese ist nicht zum ersten Mal in der Tierarztpraxis für chinesische Medizin von Dr. Hu Yusheng im Norden von Chinas Hauptstadt Peking. Ganz behutsam setzt Dr. Hu dem 13 Jahre alten Vierbeiner ein paar Akupunkturnadeln auf den Rücken. Etwa eine halbe Stunde muss der Kleine mit seiner lampenschirmähnlichen Halskrause und den Nadeln ausharren, mit denen sein Frauchen Baobaos langwierigen Husten behandeln lassen will. Ein wichtiger Teil von traditioneller chinesischer Medizin (TCM) ist, den Körper in seiner Gesamtheit zu betrachten. « Ich behandle nicht speziell die Krankheit, sondern Baobaos Qi und Blutstrom », erklärt Dr. Hu. An Tieren wendet er hauptsächlich Akupunktur und Moxa-Therapie, also die Erwärmung bestimmter Körperstellen, an. Seine Hauptkunden sind Katzen, gefolgt von Hunden, wie er sagt – und die kommen immer öfter. Laut Dr. Hu wenden Chinesen schon lange TCM an Tieren an – früher jedoch eher an Nutztieren in der Landwirtschaft, die behandelt werden mussten, da sonst Arbeitskraft gefehlt hätte. Gegenläufige TrendsDoch statt Arbeitskraft scheinen Haustiere in China mittlerweile so etwas wie ein Kinderersatz zu werden. In Chinas Städten leben laut Schätzungen ungefähr 116 Millionen Katzen und Hunde. Und denen soll es gut gehen. In China verdeutlichen sich seit Jahren zwei gegenläufige Trends: In den teureren Städten können sich trotz gestiegener Lebensstandards immer weniger Paare mehr als ein Kind leisten. Die Geburtenrate sank bislang zusehends, obwohl die Kommunistische Partei 2015 die jahrzehntelange Ein-Kind-Politik abgeschafft hatte. Derzeit liegt sie bei ungefähr einem Kind je Frau. Kosten für Kindererziehung hoch Das chinesische Yuwa-Institut für Bevölkerungsforschung ermittelte in diesem Jahr, dass die Kosten, ein Kind aufzuziehen, in China weltweit mit am höchsten sind. Die Experten betrachteten dafür das Jahr 2022 und machten ihre Ergebnisse an den Ausgaben für ein Kind verglichen mit dem jährlichen Bruttoinlandsprodukt (BIP) je Kopf fest. Im Schnitt kostete es demnach 538.000 Yuan (derzeit etwa 68.400 Euro), um ein Kind bis zum 18. Lebensjahr zu erziehen. Dies sei das 6,3-Fache des chinesischen BIPs pro Kopf. Teurer war es demnach nur in Südkorea, das weltweit ganz hinten bei den Geburten je Frau rangiert. Dagegen haben immer mehr Menschen in China Haustiere. Dr. Hu vermutet dahinter auch den hohen Arbeitsdruck. « Menschen brauchen emotionalen Trost, deshalb entscheiden sich viele, ein Haustier zu halten, egal ob sie Kinder haben oder nicht », sagt er. In einem Land mit rund 1,4 Milliarden Einwohnern birgt ein solcher Trend enormes Geschäftspotenzial. Haustierboom auch GefahrAn dem Haustier-Trend gibt es jedoch auch Kritik. Die Tierrechtsorganisation Peta Asia loben zwar die Sorge um Hunde in China. Allerdings kritisieren sie die Bedingungen, in denen manche Hundezüchter inzüchtige Würfe produzieren und die Tiere in zu kleinen Käfigen halten, während Straßenhunde um ihr Überleben kämpfen. Peta wirbt dafür, Tiere aus Heimen zu holen, statt von Züchtern oder Tierläden zu kaufen.In Zukunft dürfte das Geschäft mit Haustieren weiter vielversprechend bleiben: Im Juli kam eine Analyse der US-Investmentbank Goldman Sachs zu dem Schluss, dass der Markt für Haustier-Futtermittel in China bis zum Ende des Jahrzehnts umgerechnet 63 Milliarden Yuan (derzeit etwa 8 Milliarden Euro) groß sein könnte. Viel brisanter: Aus den Daten errechneten die Analysten, dass in Chinas Städten bis 2030 mehr Haustiere als Kinder unter vier Jahren leben könnten – und das fast im Verhältnis zwei zu eins. Vor allem die junge Generation werde Haustiere halten, hieß es. Torte zur Hunde-HochzeitIn Pekings schickem Zentrum, wo junge Leute gerne zwischen den teuren Modeläden entlang flanieren, verkauft Li Te maßgeschneiderte Kuchen für Vierbeiner. Anlässe sind zum Beispiel Tier-Geburtstag oder Hunde-Hochzeiten, die in China laut Berichten immer beliebter werden. Die Kunden können per Handy ein Foto ihres Schützlings an Lis Geschäft schicken und dort wird das Tier dann auf die Torte modelliert. Bei frischen Zutaten wie Fisch und Fleisch ist die Wahrscheinlichkeit wohl gering, dass die Vierbeiner Herrchen oder Frauchen ein Stück abtreten müssen. »Die Kunden halten vor allem mehr und mehr Katzen », bemerkt Li. Viele Bestellungen gehen ihr zufolge auch zum Internationalen Kindertag am 1. Juni ein.

La calle se llama así porque lleva a la playa del Salón, donde cientos de turistas bajaban este lunes por una calle empedrada entre las paredes blancas para encontrarse de pronto con el mar. Unas vistas idílicas que servían de fondo para la boda, antes de que la tragedia los sobrevolara. ABC visitó este lunes el establecimiento, pero declinaron hace cualquier tipo de declaración , tanto en los apartamentos turísticos como en los negocios cercanos, donde todos los trabajadores daban evasivas diciendo que habían descansado ese día. Las fuentes consultadas por ABC explican que la mujer es extranjera y que se encontraba preparando «algo romántico» . Según el relato ofrecido a este periódico, en el momento del accidente, la víctima se encontraba colocando una velas en uno de los baños y sin saber muy bien cómo le prendió el vestido. La Guardia Civil se ha entrevistado con los asistentes a la celebración, con miembros de la empresa que estaba organizado el evento y con los trabajadores que había en la fiesta para a clarar todo lo que pudiera haber ocurrido en aquella enorme terraza. Los relatos de todos los testigos entrevistados por los investigadores hacen que los agentes crean que lo que se produjo fue un trágico accidente. Las llamadas a Emergencias 112 pedían ayuda desde la terraza de unos apartamentos turísticos de la calle Salón a las 23.50 horas. En realidad es una gran restaurante con música en directo que hay en la bajada de la calle con vistas al mar. Es allí donde estaba la mujer malherida , tras arder su vestimenta. Al lugar acudieron efectivos de la Guardia Civil, sanitarios del 061 y de la Policía Local de Nerja. La hipótesis del accidente fue la primera que se barajó. Desde el principio los reportes ya apuntaban a que la mujer se había quemado por algún tipo de descuido. La víctima fue socorrida en el lugar del siniestro, para luego ser llevada al Hospital Regional de Málaga ‘Carlos Haya’. Allí fue atendida en unos primeros momentos. Según fuentes consultadas por ABC, tenía a fectada gran parte de la superficie de su cuerpo . Desde el hospital se confirma que, debido a la estado en el que se encontraba, fue derivada a Sevilla.
